AUSTINPEE4. Thank you for your response.
Now, the thing is that my sponsor is my Dad, and I will have him make an affidavit ready. And the source of founds is not accumulated but it from sales of a landed property. I know to proof source of funds like you said, I will have to provide all the document that follows sales of the property. I want to ask, is there any other thing to add to proof source of funds other than that?

Having said that... .would you mind explaining further "If funds are deposited prior to visa application, the source must be proven and MUST reflect the sponsor's income or financial status"

Thank you.
The sales receipt will be enough. Do well to also mention it in a letter of explanation.

What i mean is that any large sum deposit in the account must either show that your sponsor makes such amount at an average or he/she got it from a transaction or business that is tied to the individual. Proof of the source MUST be established.

eg is the case of the sold property.

Hi guys.....

I have some pressing inquiries i want to make from the Gurus here.

1) This Affidavit from Sponsor.... Is it really crucial. And what should the content of the affidavit be?
2) Like UK study visa, money is to be kept in the bank for a specific number of days... Is same applicable in Canada?

Urgent response..... thanks guys
1. Yes it is important especially if your sponsor is a 3rd party. The affidavit is a binding document by law. So doing one will tie a sponsor by an oath to fulfill the responsibilty of sponsoring you. The content should be exactly what your sponsor is willIng to do sponsoring your study.

2.No,it is not. Any money available as closing balance must have accumlated over a period of time. If funds are deposited prior to visa application, the source must be proven and MUST reflect the sponsor's income or financial status. Keeping money in an account without proper proof of it's source will most definitely lead to a refusal on the grounds of insufficient funds irrespective of the available balance.

Another thing is I hv finished school since 2009 but not doing anything apart from little ushering jobs I do dat fetch me money. Pls what am to do next to apply for my Canadian student permit? And as for my long time out of secondary school.what is the best answer I can give when asked. Pls u can help with the list of all the required documents I will be needing to continue the process. Pls I need a quick response. Thks
Bro/sis, to even see that you need someone here to give you answers to what you will write for the long gap you have is quite funny. Only you can know and can tell all that you've been doing within these periods. Do well to explain all you were involved in and why you have now decided to start undergraduate study again! If you can make your case and present it well enough, you could stand a chance.

You should start off by going through the first page of this part 12 and you will find useful information and required documents that will help your application.

Good day all,

As requested by cic to present a new letter of acceptance and also evidence of paid tuition and deposit of living expenses for the upcoming year, the institution has agreed to defer her admission and also sent in a new funding letter attached. Gurus should please help peruse, as I think the letter is explicit enough to tackles VO's request for tuition and living expenses.

Wife is on full funding of full tuition for two years and 13k living expenses per year and we also submitted a statement of 5M in the first application courtesy of father in law (bank reference and affidavit of sponsorship included while applying in January)

Will this funding letter suffice?

Cc. @eraytee, @thesoj, @yemdogg, austinpee4 and all gurus should kindly come to wife's aid oo grin
It should suffice. Also endeavour to get the bank reference letter concerning the funds you have in the SOA with possibility of it being exported.

Thanks boss
I followed your advised, finally spoke to my supervisor and he said the reason he didn't make desicion on my profile is due to the visa constrains for people from African especially Nigeria, since he has 2Africans in his group and it took almost a year for a Nigerian to get visa/study permit so he said I should write to grad studies and notify them of deferring my admission application till winter session, and he told me I one of the top students he is considering. He even said I should keep in touch and also be patient too.. lol
Thanks for your advice boss. I believe it will end in praise
Great news bro! As regarding the visa issues, it's quite unfortunate. Hopefully, your case will be different. Best regards.

With the answer and explanations you've given to @Oluwacanny's questions, apparently you filled an incorrect email address in your application.

Well, now they called you and you have given them the correct address. You should respond to their request sent to you within the time frame. Make sure you use the same email to reply.

Answers pls
The embassy will use the email address on your application form. If you didn't fill it, they would have returned your application to you till all fields are correctly filled. So disregard any of such call requesting an email address.

Btw, How did you even get the email you mentioned requesting you to respond to their request within 15 days?

Anyway, an embassy will not ask you for a specific email address. The alleged call requesting for a "Gmail" account should tell you something. Any email you filled will be used to contact you. If you are sure you filled a correct address, then they will reach you with that.

Hmmm..Let's actually see the inference of the officer on your case. This is actually unfair. So would they say between march and when you applied for your visa, you had deviated from mech eng? Mehn, i'm really looking forward to your GCMS.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by Austinpee4:

the purpose of visit is clear because that BUSINESS I think has no relationship with MECHANICAL ENGINEERING. even if a program relates to our undergraduate let it also fall in line with our current activity/employment/job responsibilities in other to show career progression especially if you ain't a FRESH GRAGUATE FROM THE UNIVERSITY. na we dey use our hands give ourselves ''purpose of visit''. in 2015 what were you doing as I sensed a GAP there? in 2016 till date you told the VO you do business in petroleum? na here purpose of visit begin show. The VO didn't see what MEng program in Mech.Eng would benefit to your current situation as a businessman.

so much work would have been done on your SOP to make things defined and clear and reasons for such postgraduate study(M.Eng), but I think it wasn't made clearer. TRV application requires smart thinking you have to think 360* degrees.

The Doc*
I also agree with you bro. The thing is, any slight shift away from a current activity, a visa officer suspicion about intentions will be high especially from we nigerians. They don't even trust our moves whether genuine or not. Everything must just add up from start to finish.

A VO may think, emm, this bros worked briefly in an area in mech, switch enter petroleum business and then wants to go back to get higher education in mech that he already left. Nothin like atleast one certification eg HSE or something that will show that this bros really get interest in mech even though he is briefly doing a business.

This way, they know you have shown interest in your career, have gone some steps further after undergraduate study to improve on it(work, research, seminar, conferences, certifications) and now want to get a more competitive and advantageous degree in a master.

Honestly, i feel for @willyboss. It's really heart breaking. Just that little gap between working as a piping draftman and venturing into the business without so much to look forward to evidentially as a mechanical engineer caught the VO's eye.

They just don't trust our slightest move! They believe we imploy all strategy to go to canada. It's really sad that genuine students also fall victim to this.

Sometimes, i believe our chances also depend on FAVOUR. Two different visa officers may see things differently.

Sorry about the delay. If you finished from uni in 2011 which is about 6 years ago and you have 10 months working experience in your field, i am guessing you have been doing this business with your friend for almost 4 years. This is just my thoughts. I don't really know so much.

I'm still preparing documents to submit for my visa. These questions relate to finance and sponsorship. My sponsors are my parents

1. What is the value of adding their land documents?

2. Please analyse my sponsorship profile

My main sponsor is my father who is retired, we want to use the bank statement's of his foreign currency dom account which shows tuition+living expenses+2000CAD for one year. The account is a savings one so high starting balance and average balance with small inflow and outflow. We can't include payslips cause he is retired. We also want to include my mothers payslips, work ID card and employment letter to show one parent is still working. I am also receiving funding of 25,000 per year. I am worried the vo might still see insufficient funds.

I read all your comments and I saw good rationality in it. Amongst your comments, some words in it made me redefine my search word on google and I got what I have never gotten before. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5269ETOC.asp. It is a link to a guide on the for filling of cic form. This is what Question 9 states:
Check the box to tell us if you are applying from the country you live in.

If you checked “No”, choose the correct information:

The name of the country where you are applying from,
Your immigration status in that country by choosing one of the following:
Citizen
Permanent resident
Visitor
Worker
Student
Other
Protected Person
Refugee Claimant
Other: You must fill out this section if you chose “Other” as a status.
The dates (From – To) that you have been living in that country.
If you are not a citizen of the country where you are applying, you must send proof of your legal status in the country you live in when you submit your application. How can that be reconciled to my friend not being eligible to apply for a study permit from the UK? P.S I am only trying to come to terms with your opinions to enable me make an informed decision when I eventually want to apply. I respect everyone's opinion. We are all learners and will learn even until our last breath. Thank you.
Bros, we no know how we won take help you again o.
Honestly, i feel all the response you've gotten is the best interpretation to all you need to know about applying from there with his status but since you are still figuring why your friend cannot apply from the UK on a tourist visa, una fit give am a shot to relieve yourself of the headache.

"Current immigration status" will not favour your friend. He must have a tie to UK to stand a chance( work, study, etc). The list of the status you mentioned all have ties to their resident country. Your friend doesn't have any.

Please I will like to know the reason behind your assertion that my friend can't apply for a Canadian Study Permit while on a tourist visa in the Uk? To shed more light to his situation, he already got a police certificate from Nigeria and he communicated with Vfs UK about it and they said so long he has a residential address in the Uk, he told them he will be using his friend's(Host) residential address and they said that is fine. The only question they could not respond to was the issue of using a medical done from IOM in Nigeria since the UK has its own accredited physicians and that was the reason for my initial query which I will really appreciate gurus and anyone in the house with knowledge to share. @Justwise, @Ausinepee @MichV @Mikymiko. Thank you.
Bro, like its been mentioned already, advice your friend to come back and apply from nigeria to avoid "immigration status in country of residence" issue.

Even if he/she were to apply online, no one can say how online application are routed. The possibly could be using IP addresses and domain name servers (IT terms to identify network location and connections) to shift applications to the appropraite visa office since the person is in the UK on tourist visa.

so he/she avoid 'had i known', applying form nigeria will be best.

It is safest for the money to be in your account until you get the permit. Those guys are unpredictable. The VO might request for your statement after 3 months of holding on to your package. What do you do then if you have already returned the money?
Funny enough, with the recent development, all applicant MUST have funds for study available. There will be no such thing as borrow anymore because an applicant either will show the embassy that money is already domiciled in canada or the bank will assure the embassy that funds are on deposit and will be transfered to canada.

So how will a bank give such assurances when kobo no dey the akant again after submission? The reality now is that person MUST get money for study in canada.

The prayer now go be say make the embassy send that mail to get assurance from the bank if person never pay or transfer any fees/funds. It's even more important now than medical mail because application still get refused after medical call but that recent mail from IRCC give more confidence of an approval if the bank assurances are given.

I read your post @Austinepee4 about funds for Trv and I want to ask what if I open a dollar visa account and get a dollar card and put my funds in it at least that way I can make the VO realise that the funds in which I need for study there will get to Canada..Will that make sense
To a large extent, Yes! . With the recent development from the embassy, the issue is really not in the available funds(naira or dollar).Where the wahala lies is that these funds can be sent to canada without any regulation or restrictions especially with the new forex policy.

So in addition to the dollars available, your bank should be able to assure officers that
1.Your tuition can be paid and you can withdraw in cash the equivalent of 10,000CAD for your living expenses or that indeed, the dollars will be exported to you in canada without any issue or limiting regulations whatsoever.

Like one moniker pointed out, If there is way to transfer your tuition and living expense to your student account in canada, it will clear all doubts about availability of funds for your study for the first year. If you can't, you have to do the extra to convince them.

You will need your application number to apply for the GCMS file. Your refusal letter would have been sent to you when your application was refused. Either on your MYCIC account dashboard or included alongside your returned passport if you applied through paper route. So check either of those.

Hello To everyone in this group and goodu Morning
Please I have never been as confused as this before and inneed your input. I have a bachelor of Agric degree finishing with overall cgpa of 3:0 and last 2 years 3.8. I appied for masters in MUN after securing a supervisor. Only school I applied to as the others I got no response. After waiting for 4-5months I got decision made and was told my application was refused. I spoke to my supervisor over the phone and he told me he is interested in my profile and he hasn't made a choice yet as the issues faced with getting visa from nigeria as he has a student from Nigeria who took 1year to get visa that is why he hasn't made a choice on me(2days before I got decision made he was asking me how long it takes to get visa and study permit via email). As of the time I got decision made and I spoke to my supervisor he said he hasn't made a final desicion.
Now the question is how come MUn gave admission refusal when my Supervisor told me over the phone he hasn't finalized on my profile, as he will keep in touch with me. What do I do now ?
Please this thing dey burst my kidney, cos searching for supervisor is like sourcing for Dollar when he scarce
Thank you as I await you inputs bosses
Most times the graduate admission office are responsible in issuing out admission or not after recommendation from the academic department in which the applicant applied. So get intouch again with your supervisor and inform him/her that a decision has been made on your application and ask how he/she can come it. If it's likely, your admission MAY be revised.

Apply for a full time program. You will not get a study visa as an international student applying for a part time program from outside canada.

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by Austinpee4:
Let me share this little tip that might help us when we are considering being admitted and eventually getting the study visa for canada.

Most schools will consider you undergraduate study and on few occasions work experience when applying for admission.

The embassy will consider your undergraduate, work experience and after study when reviewing your application.
While the schools must be satisfied academically about your profile, the embassy must be satisfied about your choice of program in relation to demands from your current activity(ies)as well as effect of your proposed study on your current activity upon completion.

The straight forward it looks and appears, the better the chances.

Using myself as an example.

I studied system design engineering(Robotics) as undergraduate, been working as a network/ design engineer, i have relevant certifications as one, i'm going for a master in information technology optioning in network technology.

I didn't use any SOP to explain anything to the VO. I just believed my profile was straight forward enough because my current work experience is already in line with my intended.

please guyz, so we minimize the rate of refusals, let our intended program always reflect what we are currently doing. Be it as a fresh graduate or with work experience.

Just thought to share this little stuff.

Mydear I deal more on French translation and interpretation ,moreover you must be a bilingual to be able to work as a relationship executive in my place of work. And if you say one can get masters in French translation in Nigeria! Then you might as well say why are we all struggling to go for further studies in Canada since we can get almost all the courses here in Naija...I will sure order for the GcMs note as soon as possible. Thanks for the quick response.
Ok bro. Well, the main issue here will likely be how you did/didn't show how a master in french will help your career path. The VO may not be able to totally accept the fact that your work demands requires french understanding as we do not have french as our major language. It will be believed that all business transactions will be done in english.

The need for french may only come up occasionally or when you have to travel to interprete like you pointed out. It actually does not reflect a MAJOR necessity as per career path and i guess the few times you will have to use it might just not be enough to convince officers that you need to have mastery of it to enable your career advance further especially after an undergraduate degree in french. My opinion anyway.

Good you will be ordering for your file. It will help you better.

Best regards.
