what if her company have branches in some francophone contrite and her intention is to be posted to one of those branches? Well even with that she must have to explain all that in details in her sop
One of the main perogative of the visa officer is to make sure the program choosen by applicants is right!

Once a VO picks up the application form, sees academic and work experience, that in itself has formed the greater part of the decision about the applicant's application.

They most likely will look at the applicant's primary intentions of studying in canada before the secondary parts begin to play out. Besides, what if you spend all the millions to acquire a masters of french lang in canada and the company does not send you there but rather employ a native french speaking national resident in your desired country(This will even be economically likely for any company to do),what then happens to the master you have gotten in canada? Use it in nigeria to get another job that is not likely? (if i can think like this as an ordinary person, what will you expect of people that have been trained for such purposes)

Those visa officers see pass what we all submit as applications. Everything must add up clearly and explicitly.

I work as an Admin/Relationship executive in a Telecom company and am going for masters in French language.
uote author=Austinpee4 post=56356281]
What is your current work experience and what is your intended program?
Haba! Brother! You sef check am nau.. If you were a VO, would you consider your move convincing enough?

French language is not a lingua franca in nigeria, your current work experience is not in line with your intended program, you don't have any experience in either french lecturing or translation. There is no way this one will fly! No amount of grammar put together in your SOP will salvage this one.

French language master or traning can easily be gotten in nigeria or the next francophone nation. No VO will see any need for you to pursue this at masters level especially since you don't have direct work need and more over in canada where you will be spending huge funds to obtain.

Anyway, your next move should be a masters in what you are currently doing. It will show progression careerwise.
Forget consistency with your undergraduate degree. It is inconsequential at this stage.

Your current work experience should be inclining towards making you a 'MASTER' in the field. All academic/career advancement MUST be in this light and nothing more.

All the same, i'll advice you get your immigration file(GCMS) ASAP. It will tend to the inconsistencies.
Once it is ready, people here will help you make a better re-application.

Regards.

Good day everyone thanks for your support on this forum so far. i have few questions concerning the application of Canada study visa. my sister is my sponsor for my visa application to Canada please i want to know if:
1) She can use her local government of origin if she just made it recently?
2) She can use her CAC certificate she just got from her business she has been running for four years?
thanks
1.Yes,she can. Any document to show here nativity is fine. Besides, her international passport is enough proof of identity/citizenship.

2. She absolutely can. It's an official document from the government that has proven and shown her tie to her claimed occupation/business which makes it legitimate.

It's VFS. Yes, you will submit your paper application and give your biometrics there.

If you reside in Abj, their office is on the 2nd floor of silverbird galleria building, the complex where shoprite central area is located.

Hello my people, , I intend submitting my application via paper submission please I like to know where my SOP and sponsors letter would be addressed to also where it would be submitted to?

Secondly am leaving my 2yrs old daughter behind with my husband, would the VO not think she is to young to be left behind....pls guys I need your advice....
Your SOP should be an informal letter requiring no address but a title of 'statement of purpose/intent' while your sponsor's letter can be addressed formally to

'The visa officer,
Immigration, Refugee and citizenship canada,
Canadian embassy,
Accra, Ghana or Lagos,Nigeria'

You will submit your complete application at the canadian visa office either in Lagos or Abuja.

To your second question, a VO will have no business in anything that does not involve your study permit application. Your family issue won't be their concern. Unless a family member or members want to go with you to canada then things must add up otherwise, go ahead with your application and worry less about the VO's thought towards your child. It won't even cross their mind. Your application will be the main focus.

@austinpee.

Thanks for your response. it just scary applying with son fear of delay. I will consider it. however at the same time not easy leaving kids behind. At least thy should understand emotional reasons to have at least one with me.

Do I need to state how he will be taken care of while am in school in my SOP. he is 8years.
Nobody will delay you just because you are going with your son. Actually, CIC encourages family being together as long as you have sufficient means, hometies and have proven to officers that you and your boy will return home after studies.

You son already is of school age and can go to school in canada without a need for a study permit since he is accompanying you. Your husband and other kids are already good hometies. All you need to do is state in your SOP how you intend to make sure him being with you will not affect your study.

You can talk about a few schools you are already making arragements for him to study in the city you will also be studying. The main thing is that you have given them assurances that proper arrangements have/will be made for him as an accompanying minor without distraction to your studies. Once you are able to relate these to them, his visa will be ready once yours is!

If that's the case then stick to your initial claim, if u will be traveling with him let your application reflect that from the start. My opinion dou, others can share their opinion.
You are correct bro.

@bosbebe, if you intend to go with your son, do well to apply for him alongside your application. There is nothing wrong in that. If you apply seperately for him, all conditions and requirements of obtaining a visa must be met by your son's profile and his purpose of visiting must also be clear but when you apply for him as an accompanying child/person, his visa will be subject to your study permit application and you only need to show extra funds to cover him. So apply for him along side your application.

I called vfs office to ask if I can get my international passport without it affecting my application and the lady that answered me said if I request for my international passport I have automatically ended the application process.
I think you should send a mail to the embassy in accra telling them of the situation you have and the urgency in it. They will better respond and advise you on what to do.

Do not be scared to send a mail to the embassy. It will not affect your application as long as you do NOT make a formal request to withdraw your application.

If your funding covers your tuition and living expenses, then you are good. If it only covers your tuition and other expenses that does not amount to funds for your living expenses, then you may get their email to assure them of funds for your living expenses ONLY.

PTA is for travellers. You sponsor will have to show evidence of his/her travel itinerary. So he/she cannot apply you.

Hello Everyone,
I am new on this thread and I urgently need you guys advice.
I submitted my application, paper route and it is 6weeks already. My company just informed me that I would need to go on a business trip to Vietnam for 8days at the end of this month and my international passport needed for the visa application to Vietnam is at cic Accra. Should I write to request for my international passport and would it affect my application?
You should send a mail to the embassy informing them of the new development since you signed the VFS questionaire where you were asked if you will not need your passport in the next 3 months.

According to the FAQs section on VFS website, applicant wanting to withdraw their application/passport can follow the following steps:

Send an email directly to accra.immigration@international.gc.ca

With "URGENT - I wish to withdraw my passport" on the subject line.

The email address of the sender must match that of the clients email on the application or the request will not be actioned.

The embassy will initiate the withdrawal of your application/passport and the return of your international passport to the VAC.

And No, it will not affect your application, once a final decision is made, you will be requested to re-submit the passport again within a time frame.

I need your advice on this please
There is no problem with using your personal scanner to scan and upload your documents. Choosing to apply with papar or online should be dependent on which ever is convenient for you and nothing more as non have any advantage over the other. Also, you can ONLY apply using one route at a time.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by Austinpee4:
Pstcozzy:
Please guys really need advice here.
1.A letter to the embassy or visa officer is a formal letter either referring to a situation, making a request or advising them on a thing.
While a SOP is like an informal letter where you are giving explanations and writting about your interest, aspirations, background and everything that surrounds your purpose of seeking to study in canada.

A SOP is sufficient except there is a letter from another person eg employers, instuitions, introducing you or recommending you. The latter should be formal.

2.Go for the first program. It is consistent with your degree. Your visa chances will be higher with that. When you get to canada, you can change to whatsoever career you want.

3. Yes, it will be a great idea.

4. If you intend to also show funds for your study and own your business, you MAY choose to show. Otherwise, your sponsor is the main financial source. The funds for your tuition and living expenses is the main thing. Tax certs are secondary.

5.Get a letter of acknowledgement stating that you worked/working there. You must show evidence of being engaged in the organisation you filled.

6.You only need the IMM 1294E form. You do not need a visa form. If your study permit is approved, a visa will be issued as well. No seperate application is needed. Go to CIC website, find the appropraite section and download the forms for nigerian applicants.

Hello good people, pls I need advice on the following issues....

(1)My wife is d applicant & I want to stand as her sponsor...

(2) My acc do have about 5m tunrover monthly, now I intend to lodge about 7m in d acc as closing balance before printing the statement .

(3)Is 7m closing balance strong enough to defend her ,as it has been indicted in her offer letter estimated cost for a section is 8,000CAD?

(4)Is it compulsory for her to also present her statement of acc ?

Thank you great people...
Firstly, avoid any money lodgement that does not reflect your average income or have an untraceable source.

Secondly, there is a standard requirement for each study permit applicant which is the equivalent of your first year tuition + first year living expenses in the amount of 10,000CAD. Do your conversions and then you will estimate how much of naira will be sufficient.

Lastly, it is now NOT enough to show funds in naira equivalent.Study permit applicants have been greeted with a recent development from IRCC making sure funds are aready in canada or assurances from your financial institution that required funds will be exported to canada. This is now the reality towards an application being approved.

So give consideration to the above stated and get guidance.

I posted the above on Tuesday.

On the same day we sent a mail to Accra telling them that all document was sent to them since February and auto reply was sent to that effect .

We screen munch the auto reply and forward to them .

We made them realise that it is their fault because we complied to their request so it not justified to deny the visa on that ground

To God be the Glory they re-open the case and requested for new acceptance letter without medical mail again yesterday

What amazed was that they changed his Application number and was given 10days to provide new LOE.

It can only be God
This news gladens! My sincere congratulation in advance. It's never over untill we win! God is faithful.

Well said bro.

Another suggestion:

1. Pay you Tuition fees

2. Request for a letter called Banker's confirmation letter from the bank. In this letter, the bank will state amount in deposit with the bank. Banker's confirmation letter is very easy to get from the bank.
I would believe that for the embassy to send the email requesting assurances to export funds, they have no doubt whatsoever that funds are available. Where the main issue lie is, will the required funds be available in canada with the forex policy??

I also believe that this email will not be sent to all applicants. Only applicants whose application is at the verge of being approved but have not shown financial availability either in canada or exportable assurances /evidence will get the email.

@Sugaro, you can get a USD dollar or Canadian dollar draft from gtbank but you will have to purchase dollar from the black market and deposit into your dom account.
Also no bank will give a guarantee on your behalf to the embassy. They can be held liable if you can't pay fees in Canada.
I agree with you.

I actually went to Gtbank to see d manger and see if they can issue a letter but they said the highest they can do is to block the money In the account(hence it won't be accessible to u) and then write a letter stating the MONEY will be AVAILABLE for TRANSFER but CAN'T SAY if FOREX will be available only Buhari can say dat. Lol. However, they can raise a draft in CONVERTIBLE CURRENCY ! But FIRST BANK said they don't issue draft
I really won't blame any bank. They are under serious regulation. But i think the bold statement will really suffice is anyone can get their bank to issue a draft for the amount required.

No, you don't have to. Your current account is valid for all CIC application even after you get your study permit.

If your re-application was a paper application, link it through your account. If it was online, you definitely would have use the account you have to apply.

@Austinpee4, don't you think it would be a plus to present a new SOA with funds still intact as at the time of application? This can further prove that the funds were not fixed solely for the purpose of application.

Just thinking
Well, for the embassy to request just the letters and assurances, they are convinced the funds are still available. They only want to be sure the available funds in the SOA presented will be available in canada especially with the forex policy.

This written assurance from CBN does it necessarily have to be addressed to the Canadian high commission and does it have to be specific? Cause I have their press release and their circular which I want to submit alongside written specific and addressed letter from my bank
Cc:@chimah3 @yemdogg @austinepee4 @folaroyal @michv
I doubt so much CBN will issue a letter to an individual. So just attach the circular as it is.

Personally, i feel that circular from CBN does not completely address the embassy's concerns. It will only help to understand the measures taken by the apex bank to make forex available for tuition and other invisible transactions.(They probably would have seen that circular since they are aware of the new forex policy).

From that email from the embassy, the written assurances has to be specific about the applicant's possibility of transferring the funds to canada. This is where the applicant's bank will come in and clear the doubts with assurances and vehemence.

That circular from CBN should be helpful but the commercial bank letter assuring the embassy of transfering funds will most appropraitely address this growing concern. I strongly believe so.
