squash1986:Some of us here dey sabi worry ourselves over nothing! While it is good to substantiate with evidence about being employed, there are other documents to add to proof this, EMPLOYMENT LETTER is one of such! If you choose to add other documents to your application fine. I will agree with @Chimah3 and @MichV on different points. The main essence of adding your payslip, SOA should be to show that you too beside sponsorship have been earning cash from what you claimed you are doing and more especially to show that you can earn enough to pay for subsequent year(s) in a case of self sponsorship. On the other hand, if you are sponsored and feel that by adding your SOA, etc, you will complicate you application, kindly leave it out. A signed letter from your organisation, recommendations, attestation etc will show proof that you have been engaged with such establishment. The MAIN benefit of being sponsored is that your sponsor now takes full responsibility of ALL your financial obligations. If you have other assets to add in your name, good. IRCC will most certainly asses your capacity (sponsored or self sponsored) to meet all financial demands and requirement during the entire duration of your study in canada especially your first year. The stronger they are, the better your chance. Adding SOA or NOT should be dependent on the point(s) your are trying to proof.(eg, sponsor transferred funds to you, you also have savings, you have earnings that will be coming to you even while studying, sponsoring yourself). It shouldn't be a trend to follow. Most important thing should be that your financial capability and statement meet all the requirements as stipulated by the IRCC act. |
olajide21:The bold line is also a good reason to relate to a VO why you couldn't get admission in a PhD program as well as your other reason for not going for a masters. Use all the instances to you greater advantage and make sure everything add up. They most certainly will question your intentions critically. Your are already a professional. Also try to secure a graduate diploma of atleast 2 years if you can. I don't know how long the certificate program will last but consider a minimum of a 2 years program. |
samjumbo:Why not make a bank draft in convertible currency payable to your instituition or transfer all the funds to your student account in canada. This way, you will not have to show any bank statement since you are self sponsored and all required funds would have been domiciled in canada. That will give you a good chance. |
olajide21:My bro, if only the master admission came through, your TRV would have been in the cart even without a SOP. Notwithstanding, you still can pull this through but you will have to do alot in explaining and expantiating on your choice of this program and how it is best for you. If i were you, i'll use the inability to secure a master admission to my advantage and make a VO also see why i wouldn't take the program in nigeria because my ultimate goal is to get an internationally competititive advantage.#Tips Also take time to point out that the program will afford your another opportunity to hone your academic stand which will further enable you secure a master degree which is your utmost desire irrespective of the one you already have. Everything will boil down to what your overal intentions are and how these are transmitted to the officer. The burden is quite huge on you considering your profile. Anyway, draft all you can and reach me, i'll also help you with it. N/b..Have you considered a PhD or post graduate diploma? |
jboyjoel:1.Depending on the program you are going for, age MAY or MAY not play a major role in ascertaining your chances. 2. Having travelled both to canada and other countries and returned home to nigeria will also give you some edge. 3.Doing a certification just to show course match may just not be enough. You have to also explain why it it the right program for you, how it will add to your current activity(ies), why you intend undergoing it in canada rather than in nigeria and how it will give you progressive advantages careerwise or academically. These are some of the things you will have to make officers understand convincingly. They already refused you and any additional information or circumstance MUST significantly show and clear any doubt about your study intentions. |
colestephan86:You don't have to. He is your uncle and there is nothing wrong in him sponsporing you as one only that he will do more by atleast paying your fees before you apply. Besides, in the long run, it will come back and hunt you if you give any misleading information. Na there grammar go start. Avoid any untrue info. |
olajide21:And 2017 a graduate course? Kindly share more of your profile so we help you avoid a tsunami that is about to happen and make your visa chances too seem "promising". Your undergraduate study?, work experience? Intended program? |
iseise:Send them a case enquiry to find out about the status of your application using the IRCC web form here https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx |
Joshcoli:I did and have replied. |
mcobex:I understand. Do not forget that there is a limitation in the amount of 15,000USD or equivalent for school fees per transaction/term. So if an applicant's school fees is say 13,000-18,000CAD, once the school fees is paid, the limit would have been reach or almost reached The bank can only issue confirmation to what is applicable and in accordance to directives from CBN. In the end, it will boil down to the naira equivalent of applicant's tuition and living expenses. The lesser the tuiton the better to accomodate 10,000 CAD. Any further transaction can be done either through dollar account or other means but certainly not at school fees rate. |
yemdogg:Baba, this one weak me! Dem for kukuma say make canadian banks relocate come naija na. So we just pay into their account in convenience. |
Martins16:Mehn, these folks though! Person go pay tuition finish na how living expenses go reach canada come be wahala. Apparently, showing funds for living expenses in naira equivalent may not be enough with this latest development. Bro, i'll advise you meet your bank, discuss possibilities of sending funds to canada, they can suggest the best way to this. The bank should give you options especially with the new policies of forex. Its well o |
Joshcoli:Okay. I also hope you won't forget officers are trained psychologist. Do well to back up all you will be writting with evidence. There is huge discordance in your undergraduate, current job and intended program. Regards. |
Joshcoli:I wrote all that with the thinking that your current job was in electrical engineering. This is where it will be difficult. Your current job is not engineering related so you will not be able to relate it to your intended program. Also depending on how long you've been working in your current job, you might want to find a related program to it and leave the Avionics that you seek to study else you risk PURPOSE OF VISIT refusal. Your current activity/work MUST align with what you are seeking study permit to study. A VO will think, he graduated from electrical engineering, left that and worked in a different field and now want to go for another one in canada? As as how nau? Based on which logistics? |
nairalandnewbie:You can. |
Rocorleone:You don't need that form. Only print the questionaire section and fill. |
Ejaloni123:YES, any updated processing time applies to all existing and new application. A final decision on your application can be reached WITHIN any processing time displayed by IRCC. Each weekly update shows the MAXIMUM time it took the visa office to process the VOLUME of application during that period. So it's just a window period to make a decison on each application. A decision could come earlier within this period or later within it or in few cases exceeding the processing times (depending on the circumstance). |
Moley22:Lol. I get! Still do yourself alot of good by making out time to read previous posts from the thread, it's very insightful and helpful. Welcome! |
Moley22:Lol. You just posted your previous post and you are already impatient. Anyway, yes, the 1,000CAD is part of your tuition. You will just add the remaining 11k to it. |
tobyharwe:It is not. They can write and sign a letter of sponsorship and possibly an affidavit of sponsorship in addition. There are lots of notary public offices from Wuse 2 ,Asokoro, Apo, Central area to Garki etc. Do well to search for law firms and solicitors addresses closest to you through google. |
Matte2016:It is what it is brother. You are inadmissible to canada for mis-representation. |
Markab:I think and feel you should wait till maybe after 8th of May before you contact the school again. Some schools allow international students to resume few days to a week after resumption. Concerning the deferral, yes some schools don't defer admission more than twice but should there be a genuine and a very good reason to defer again, they will. They probably may ask you to pay the application fee again but your admission will still be offered to you. In any case, after resumption of the program and nothing yet from CIC, you/wife can commence the process of deferral again citing the delay in procesing of the study permit. It surely will defer it again but may be at a cost. |
maziude:Their canadian visa office processing time is quite fast oh. I'm beginning to believe both online and paper application are processed in the Visa office serving the applicant's region and not anywhere as assumed here for online route. My believe is firm because i think the regional visa office will better understand the supporting documents and can easily verify documents if need be. And from history here, both online and paper route applications for nigerian applicants applying from nigeria are processed within the accra visa office time frame. I dey suspect say accra dey handle everything.(online and paper). |
maziude:Such speed!!! Congrats bro |
dimpules8:That picture is the earlier part of the lagos visa office instruction form IMM 5832E with the questionaire for nigerian applicants which was previously used in time past for study permit application. That PART of the form is now obsolete and replaced by the current IMM 1294E. So nigerian applicants are to only print out the questionaire part and fill will a pen when applying through paper route. i.e the part that have questions like "How does your program differ from the one in nigeria" "How long will it take to complete your program" This is the questionaire section to be printed and completed with a pen. Page 17-18/19 of the LAGOS VISA OFFICE instruction IMM 5832E. |
wolfrine:Before you even think of Job prospects, you should consider your visa chances. With your years of experience, your best bet will be a master degree. Most technologically-driven PGC/D program are work place focused. You already have some years of experience in a related field with your undergraduate, so a big question will be 'Why a PGC'? You are not new to the field so why do you intend to get work place entry knowledge in an area you have both undergraduate and work experience in already? If you can satisfactorily point out the rationale behind the decision to go for your intended program after your years of experience and undergraduate study then a visa officer may see reasons to grant you a study permit to pursue this program otherwise, you stand a great risk of purpose of visit refusal if you can't convince them about your intention to study the program and how it will further give you advancement in a career you have mastery already from both undergraduate and work experience. Your best chance is with a master degree admission which will give you more competitive advantage upon completion. This is not to say the PGC is impossible, the burden of conviction lies in your wordings and supporting documents. |
LightandDarkness:You are not supposed to fill this part of the form. This part is now obsolete and not required. I think the part to fill is from page 17-19 (where you have have to print and fill with a pen). |
Sugaro:Yes. It will show you have the funds made available to you as declared by sponsor. There is no limit to the number of SOA to submit. Add as much that will boost your chances and show evidence that you have funds already with you. |
LightandDarkness:1. Okay. That's still fine. 2. I don't think there is a part of the questionaire where one has to fill in the amount of income. Make sure you are using the correct one for Nigerian applicants. |
bosbebe:It will be difficult to convince a visa officer using an offshore account and sponsorship. It can scale through if your sister transfers the money to you in nigeria or send the funds to your student account in canada. The idea of sponsorship really is not about the capacity of the sponsor but accessibility of the funds by the applicant who will be studying in canada. The more this appears good enough, an application will always be approved. It always will be about the applicant and every surrounding situation concerning comfortability during study in canada. |
bosbebe:Yes. |
bosbebe:You are to fill the exact tuition on your letter of admission. If the tuition on your offer is 34,000CAD ,then fill it in the section for tuition irrespective of when it is due. Your funds available will be equivalent of your Tuition(on admission letter) + 10,000CAD + 4000 or more. The 15,000CAD you paid already is inclusive in your tuition calculated as funds available because you will show it in form of the payment reciept showing fund is domiciled already in canada. To the issue of company account, i want to believe your husband is the sole signatory. Anyway, most significant thing is that he transferred a good amount to your account already. In summary, make sure the total funds (paid and in your account) amount to the funds available as declared. |
