sampe:1. It is advisable. Same as waiting for a request from the embassy. 2.You can either address it to the lagos or accra office, any is fine eg The visa officer, high commision of canada/canadian embassy, no 122......., lagos/accra, nigeria/ghana. 3. Any evidence to show you are married and wife is in nig is fine. It will serve as a good home tie same as your other immediate family members in nigeria. Also make sure you indicate your marital status as married on the application form when you do the court marriage. 4. Google will be your best tool and resource. 5. This thread has seen plenty email addresses already with little or no response. Also, your email address is vunerable to attacks or hacking especially on a public forum where you can't ascertain who has access to it. Do well to always post your enquiry here and you will get responses. 6. Anybody can sponsor you. To have a good chance using your inlaw who will be considered a 3rd party, let him pay your first year tuition, transfer funds for your living expenses to you and also add an affidavt of sponsorship to your application. |
LightandDarkness:There is nothing like Nigerian VO anywhere in their embassy oo. All of them are full flesh Canadians both in nigeria and all over the world. If naija VO dey among them, there will be so much favouritism. A visa officer will most definitely use all available resources and man power to understand anything he/she need. Nigerians can be their background staffs but certainly not a visa officer. |
"19. Canadian nurse, March 28,university of Manitoba, paper route. Medical and Evidence of fee payment request on 04/05/2017" @Osemigho, you head dey there! This new embassy policy follow for expectation! Not just medical! So if an applicant that hasn't paid any fees no see that one too, then............God is in control! |
LightandDarkness:Does it really matter where it is processed? As long as you get your study permit approved, it can be processed in afganistan for all i care. This shouldn't be your worry, thankfully you can apply online in convinience or through VFS. |
Moley22:The thing is, you will still pay the tuition for the school with high fees if you go in september. Why not go for the affordable one and exercise patience. Even if you travel in sept, you MUST meet the conditions on your study permit which will automatically mean that you will be enrolled in the either of the two universities till jan. So i think you should wait, apply to the ones you can afford and go in january. Unless you think otherwise and have all the cash. |
ebimila:Why not chill till maybe 15-17th may, if a decision hasn't been made, you decide. Use this period to discus all possibilities with the school you paid fees to about defering again, they will best guide you. Also note that you can change programs once you arrive canada. All these can only be achieved when your study permit is approved. So wait and take advantage of the time to get other options for yourself so you don't lose in totality. A decision hasn't been made yet on your application and your decision moving forward will be dependent on the outcome. |
judebebo32:It is a requirement for nigerian applicants and it's part of documents to submit. However, we have seen cases where it wasn't necessarily important as people got their application approved without it. So for standard procedure, police clearance is REQUIRED for both nigeria and country lived for more than 6 months. If one can get it fine, if you can't, it won't stop the processing of your application. If the visa officer deem it very necessary to submit, he/she will instruct the applicant to provide one. |
LightandDarkness:Hardly! If there is any issue with applicant's health or impending issue, the panel physician/hospital will advise further treatment first or not to apply(in case of upfront) and in some cases, IRCC will instruct further test for additional info. |
einsteino:Ofcos. The reason your sponsor should even give you their property documents is to show you have some tie to it or show thier assets base. If you can show these through other things, you are fine. IRCC officers will be more interested in funds availability for you as well as your relationship with your sponsor. |
flow2davis:You should find out from your school the possibility of staying back without violating the conditions on your study permit pending when you can either pay your fees or defer till september. To have a student status with all it's benefits, you MUST be ENROLLED and ACTIVELY pursuing your studies on an outgoing basis. So weigh your options and decide on the one that will not incriminate you. |
Mumtwins08:I believe you've gotten good advise already. To also answer the latter part of your questions, The tuition fees as written on your offer letter is what officers will use. Be it for a year or for your entire program. So calculate the naira equivalent of the tuition on your offer letter + a minimum of 10,000CAD or some excess of this. I think the 11m will be sufficient while the fixed deposit will give you a strong home tie. If you can pay your tuition, it will be a good move. All the best. |
ichigo77:The bold line actually is not necessary. Anybody can help you. To your question, estimate a duration of a 2 years program and fill. e.g most 2 years program beginning in fall 2017 should have it's graduates by june 2019. So use that as a guide and pick the last day of your estimated month of graduation. |
shugachris:Oh i see! Unfortunately, this thread is for canadian student visa. You may not get useful responses concerning your issue I'll advise you go to the appropraite thread so you can get help. Regards. |
shugachris:This mail dey one kind! Was it a visa application abi job application for visa office? Which embassy sent this? |
gbsunmonu:I understand the feel. Hopefully, everything will go well in the reapplication. |
@Mumtwins08. I really can't tell the time frame for SOWP applications. But i believe the SOWP thread would give your adequate information regarding it. Find the link here https://www.nairaland.com/2271485/canada-spouse-open-work-permit |
gbsunmonu:Na wa o. What will we even call this one? Hmm Well, since the application was refused, let him reapply adding all the documents plus a letter to the visa officer pointing out what happened. By the way, i want to believe that the issue raised in the previous application was well tackled. |
Mumtwins08:1. It depends on your schedule and patience level. Both medicals before submission and waiting till you are advised to undergo one are advisable. Which ever one you choose, it won't guarantee an approval of your application till a final decision is made. 2. If he is going to stay with you for the entire duration of your program, you will have to apply for a visiting visa for him. Us citizens can only visit canada without a visa for not longer than 180days. If stay exceeds this duration, a valid visa is required. |
gbsunmonu:For the previous medical he did, was it requested for or did he do an upfront medical and was there an update of passed? |
@amii131 I sent you a PM. Biko, i need some clarity concerning some medical stuff. |
ugolinze123:I don't think that will be necessary. 10k or more can be carried but the individual MUST declare it to CBSA and the purpose of carrying it MUST be established to avoid money laundering or terrorist financing activities. |
Eraytee:I agree with you. Make everybody relax. An individual experience should not be used to generalise and conclude the situation. The surely will be a way out to bring ease to people entering canada. |
horluwahseye:It is not abnormal. A medical request can still come. For certain, you will undergo a medical examination before your study permit is approved. When will this be? Only the visa officers can tell. |
Solomon198ss:Firstly my bro, have it in your mind that everything surrounding your studying in canada will be born out of your desire, creativity, brilliance, individual work ,other abilities and God. Even the SOP you are seeking help will be WELL written with these attributes. It is going to be a continous effort even in canada. People here can only give you an insight or suggestion but ultimately, what you are able to put down yourself will give you greater control and confidence in your re-application. Regarding your GCMS file, you will need to share here more about your profile. (Undergraduate degree, intended program, work experience, etc). Once you share all these information, guys here will give you different angle on how to remedy the situation. |
benatokwu:Apply for the GCMS file first and then share it here so that all the help you will get will be centered around the visa officer's conclusion. |
here:I would believe that the main reason UBC stated that on their website is regarding minor/children of school age that intend to study immediately the arrive with parents. Your friend's baby is still very young and filling a study permit application may just not be the perfect move because they will be conditions on the permit that the baby must meet. However, IRCC also mentioned that minors already in canada(visitor visa) can go to school( pre, primary, secondary) without a study permit. With that being a plus, your friend should apply for a visitor's visa for the baby as an accompanying minor while filling his/her study permit application. There are opportunities to extend the visitor's visa as an accompanying minor.A major one is the fact that your friend will be a student and on a study permit. Find other useful information about accompanying minors on this link http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/temp/students/minor.asp |
horluwahseye:You most certainly will need to pass a medical examination before your study permit is approved. Exception is when your program is six months or less. |
mimshack2015:To know if it will be enough, calculate the equivalent in CAD of your 1st/2nd year tuition +living expenses*2 to be self sponsored. Otherwise, calculate 1st year tuition + living expenses and then get a co-sponsor for the second year. |
michV:Lol. Baba, you are still asking the same questions i have given explanations to already. You just missed it. Each document should serve a purpose! Each applicant should understand their profile! I for an instance have been working and i only showed evidence of being employed in all the organisations i claimed.(employment/recommendation letter) I didn't add salary SOA and all. I did so because i had a sponsor who had all the funds required by IRCC and my application was approved. |
samjumbo:Find out if they have partnership with Western Union Business Solution to remit funds from international students. If they do, get the quotation in USD of the equivalent of your tuition as written on you offer letter, take it to you bank and they will transfer it directly to your student account. Once the fee schedule for your school is out, they will only deduct from your account. Also take note, the maximum funds transfer for fees. Other means are available i believe. |
michV:What i actually tried to point out is that there should be a significant reason to include any financial document we choose to include. The SOLE reason why SOA, payslips etc should be included is to show that we can meet the requirement of sufficient funds for study or will be able to generate funds to meet the requirement and nothing more. So the funds generation or availability for canada is the paramount thing. Once you are sponsored and sponsor's SOA meet that requirement(s), it satisfies the financial demand already for atleast a year. Any further financial document by applicant can show that he/she also earns or have been earning money while working. It strengthen and broaden 'current employment situation' to include income status. If you can't show that, then by all means, add other assets if you have. It will suffice as 'personal asset' The duty of sponsorship would have been taken care of already by sponsor. Also, a document attesting to the fact that yes indeed, you were employed in any organisation is sufficient. As long as a sponsor pledges total commitment financially to applicant, the burden automatically lies on the sponsor to fulfill such responsibility irrespective of whether applicant's SOA is included or not. IRCC officers will focus more on the person providing fund and make sure it complies with their act. Payslips, SOA is to show proof that one can generate REQUIRED funds or proof of a tie to something especially when you are self sponsored. If the required funds(tuition+living expenses) is not shown, it will be insignificant even if you earn a fat pay monthly. |
