wiljen120:Congratulation! You should apply to defer your admission to the next start date.Your TRV will give you a duration and time frame for you to enter canada. Depending on your program length, it could be valid for the duration of your program or less. You only need to defer your admission. I believe your TRV will be lengthy enough to allow you enter canada for the next start date of your program. CIC would definitely be aware that you can't resume for winter 2017 again. So they will issue a TRV that will cover next possible start date. Check the visa foil on your passport and you will find out the time frame you have to enter canada. All the best to you and congrats again. |
andre99:Yea, you are correct. Pointed that out already except the latter part of your comment where i wasn't sure prior to now. |
andre99:Oh.. Ok. Wasn't aware it actually can.Thanks for the head-ups. |
Mrtoke:Your case is quite confusing but as much as i can understand, your agent has access to you online account with CIC while you have your tracking details for VFS site. Thing is, i don't think online application can be tracked on VFS website(stand to be corrected) but if you insist it was an online app, i really don't know what to think. Also, if you are tracking on VFS site to see medical update, it is impossible. You won't see that. You only see movement of your application from VFS to the canadian embassy and when it starts being processed. You only see real time update of your app through MYCIC account and not VFS website. You agent apparently has more information and control over your application than you. So meet your agent, tell him or her to show you your account with CIC and ask questions. You have a RIGHT to that. Nobody here can know what has transpired all through your application. Let the agent know your worries and take control of your application. You paid for God sake! Unless it is a free something..Lol. Congrats! I personally think your app have been approved. |
gkgraphics:Well, i thought it was a winter 2017 admission you had. Anywhere, your plans should be sept(fall)2017 or jan(winter)2018 because CIC haven't made a decison yet on your application and you don't know when they will request for the new offer later and make the final decison. It may exceed your probability and leave no time for you. You have to put this into consideration and give enough time for unforseen delays and time to prepare for your trip when an approval is given to your application. So aside the winter offer from your school, any other offer you get should either be for fall 2017 or winter 2018. May might be too close. Your call all the same. |
gkgraphics:They sure will and they may decide to review their decison again! So while you wait, you should get the winter 2018 offer then and once the study permit is approved, you choose how you want to proceed. Also note, if you decide to change school for any reason, you must notify CIC of a transfer of DLI through myCIC account. My advise will be, get the offer for winter 2018 and get your study permit first. |
gkgraphics:If your interest is really in the program you applied for your study permit with, why not still hold on and resume when it is available considering it is what you really want while getting yourself useful in readiness for the start in winter 2018. Alternatively, if you don't want the ones they are offering you, you can apply for other programs(at same level or higher than the one you applied for a pemit with) in other schools and if eventually your study permit is approved, you notify CIC of change of DLI(school) through MyCIC account and proceed with the new program of interest in another school offering it for fall 2017 if you can wait till winter 2018. |
Mrtoke:Sometime, there is a time delay from when an online application is updated and when the applicant gets a notification to check application status.. Also, your route of application is quite not clear, you mentioned it was an online application and also mentioned your tracked it and it showed still processing. Was it a paper application and was later linked online? 2. If you linked your paper application online, you won't see a medical call other than the one sent to you through your mail. You will only see an update on your profile (passed/failed). 3.You cannot track an online application through VFS website. You only see updates on your CIC account. I'm assuming your application was paper and later linked online. If this is the case and since your agent said your app was approved today, it may take a day or two for the application to reflect on VFS tracking site as 'dispatched to VFS'.. So give it some time and re-check. Lastly, Get your account details from your agent and check your account yourself. This is the only way you can know exactly all the updates on your application. Since the agent said your app have been approved, obviously, he/she have linked your app online(if it was paper) and have access to your account and can see all the updates. So request the log in details and then you log in yourself, see your account updates and put your mind at rest. |
MarionRN:The link @Penitential gave to you will best guide you as people that visited canada for conferences can readily answer your questions there. Anywhere,to help alittle: 1.See CIC requirements for Business visit(conferences falls under this) here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/business-who.asp and this thread too https://www.nairaland.com/137939/urgent-visiting-canada-conference 2.Your travel history is good and will help your application. 3.Congratulations!!!! 4.The best for him to do is to transfer money into your account that will cover your entire expenses(flight, hotel accomodation, feeding etc) for the duration of the conference and you act as self sponsor. Since you are not married to him yet or have your marriage certificate, he won't be considered your husband. If you have lived with him for 1 year and can show you both have been in a conjugal relationship with documentary evidence showing activities involving both of you(strong social, financial and romantic ties),he can be your common law partner. Other than this, Leave him out of the picture, get the cash into your account that will cover your stay and apply.( its a short stay and a one time amount is sufficient). 5. You can request that your school gives you a letter atteasting to this and that they are aware of your intended conference and believes it will add significantly to you as you will be starting your MSC. Also, home ties in Nigeria is very important if not the MOST important because it is your country of citizenship. (Family, assets) attach all docs to show strong ties with these. The links provided will be most useful to you. Best regards. |
Austine2020:Actually, you may not find sufficient information regarding tourist or visit to canada on this thread as there are not widely discussed here. Study related issues are mainly discussed here. Here is the link to the tourist/visit forum on nairaland. You will find useful information for your wife's application. https://www.nairaland.com/2103860/canada-visit-tourist-visa-discussion Best regards. |
Kemsure30:It means a final decison hasn't been reached yet on your application. Once a decision is reached it will be closed with either approved or refused. |
oprah007:I hardly see anyone going this route of appealing or petition a study permit application refusal. The process is usually lengthy and may incure cost and all. I don't know or can really say if it usually turn out in an applicant's favor. The best you can do is to reapply, point out the unjust and unfavourable decision in previous app and how that it was no fault of yours in a letter to the VO. You can also attach evidence and reciept of the previous payment. Possibly they may threat and expedite processing of your new application owing to this misjudgement. This will be their call anywhere. |
AAOL:This is not a good advise!! It will shock and interest you to know that he/she will be dealing with the Government which have some investigative powers and have cooperation from other governments when it concerns security, immigration, crime and terrorism. When they ask that one truthfully answer questions, it shouldn't be underestimated. They will dig out anything that will be useful to them and from viable indicators, every applicant is treated as a potential permanent resident and possible citizen of canada. Once they see you have lived outside your country of citizenship and birth for a while, further investigations will be carried out on you(Canadian authorities are very good in this hence the long processing atimes for most of their application) to ascertain you are not a threat to security, have not commited crime or violated regulations and law aside the things you fill and this is also aside the police statement requested from these countries. Also, the person you are giving this advise is expected to submit police clearance certificate from the philippine which WILL clearly state and indict him of overstaying previous permit. On the contrary to the second bold statement and as a matter of fact, reporting the overstay will add more credibility to his application and if reasons for doing such are not bad, he stands a good chance of getting the permit be it a master or PGD/PGC.It will then boil down to the nature and circumstance of the overstay and also the VO's discretion. Please, do not guide or advise anyone into doing anything that will tarnish his/her immigration status and render the person inadmissible to not just the US or Canada but almost all countries. Canada immigration history is considered one of the most credible because it is a TOP destination of the world, nobody wants to get a bad immigration profile with them. |
Khloepatra3:It sure will raise concerns about possibility to do same in canada if they approve your study permit. If your reasons for previous overstay is cogent enough and indicate it wasn't any fault of yours, you could stand a chance, if not, this Oputa panel will be between you and the VO. So explain the circumstance(s) surrounding the overstay and why it got to that. Secondly, make sure you truthfully acknowlegde that you have been asked to leave a country before in the application form to avoid any issue that may lead to admissibility or inadmissibility. Once your reasons of overstaying are good enough and you are able to relate it to a VO, it MAY pass. The decision is entirely the VO's and at his/her discretion. |
vvvvvvvvvvvvvvv:Hope the business has and will generate enough cash to cover you, any dependant and herself throughout the duration of your program. If that is the case, give it a shot. Let her state that the 2.2m she transfered to you is for your upkeep. The remaning balance in her account will also count as long as she doesn't have so much financial burden in addition to your study and can clearly show her business is bouyant enough to withstand all financial responsibilities both for you, herself, any dependants and her personal needs. All the best in your application |
vvvvvvvvvvvvvvv:If your sponsor is parent(s) and not a 3rd party and the account is always well funded with very good inflow of cash and you've been able to show this as well as the relationship to sponsor, having the said total amount in the tune of 7.4m might not be so much a thing of worry. Yes, CIC stipulated 10k in addition to tuition but from records here, having a reliable sponsor(parents/family member) with a fairly or good closing balance BUT very good inflow of cash and stable income to show sponsor can generate enough cash to fund your studies always pass too. Advise will be, if you truly know the person will sponsor you, let her transfer a good amount to your account and mention it in the letter of sponsorship in addition to your own cash. Show evidence and source of your own too. #key Show good proves and evidence he/she earns well to be responsible for your studies.(this is really important) *closing and available balance will mean nothing if fiqures does not reflect average income and are not sustainable* |
Eraytee:Yes, the application number of the latest refused application including the UCI should be entered in a reapplication(Helps CIC to locate previous app). You are correct about the same UCI but different app number. When an application is closed and refused, it cannot be opened again hence the new application numbers each time a reapplication is filed in.The previous refusal app number you filled won't matter anymore. The UCI will be same in all application because the UCI is used to lodge in and review GCMS files and reports for past and new app on their database. Hope this brings clarity. |
Kemsure30:You may want to start the whole process again by clicking the 'link existing application' in your account and follow the instructions and guide. Choose option(s) that you won't have to input your application number. Fill the data(s) carefully and correctly. |
Maxicon:Chief, It's crystal clear these PEOPLE expect that you go for a master or higher degree than the PGD you've been applying with considering your academic achievement and profile or if atall the post graduate diploma is what you really want, you haven't satisfactorily convienced them that it will progressively add to you academically or careerwise. Advise #1, Get a master degree admission in finance or an MBA. ---- If PGD is your conviction, use a statement of purpose(SOP) to explicitly outline why and how a PGD will be best for you and why he/she(VO) should believe a 'first class' applicant isn't using a PGD to migrate to canada as against a master which should be desirable. Seondly, i don't think it's completely true that you got refused because you applied from the UK. Your legal status, length and condition of stay in the UK and home ties in nigeria as at when you applied from the UK may have been a major factor. While the travel history ticked may be as a result of your long stay in the UK without regular visit home to demonstrate home ties and suggest u will return after your study in canada, i don't think it should be a re-surfacing thing once your purpose of visit is right and you show good HOME TIES to nigeria to compel return. Advise #2 Get strong home ties and show possible employability in nigeria and also briefly explain all you have been doing since you got back with proves and let them point to a need for academic upgrade. Finally, now that you will be reapplying again from nigeria, you will have to be patient because they most definitely will be doing a thorough review of your previous and new application to ascertain the significant additional new information you will be adding and how the have improved periodically. Advise #3 Make sure your statements, profile and information(new and old) are consistently CONSISTENT! |
ijeaify:If it's still showing 'medical not needed', it means they are still reviewing your medical information. From observations, review of applications are done randomly and does not follow any particular order. Someone can get medical update after 3 weeks and gets a final decision after 5 weeks and another can get medical update after 4 to 5 weeks and get final decision within a week ,two or more. if the hospital has not submitted(i believe they have),CIC wil definitely contact you to that regards. So relax, once they finish reviewing, they will update it. |
Kemsure30:If you haven't applied previously for a study permit, you won't have the number. It's usually known and seen from previous refusal(on the letter) or any correspondence from CIC. If this is your first application, ignore that section and fill other relevant information. You will still link your application without the application number. |
uso84:Ok. I wish you well. |
Samo16:For charges, fees and procedures, see here http://www.vfsglobal.ca/canada/nigeria/Service_and_Service_Charge.html For upfront medicals, find the approved hospitals here http://www.cic.gc.ca/pp-md/pp-list.aspx Call or email the hospital closer to you and they will advise you better. |
chimah3:Photocopies! Original documents aside bank statements and acceptance letter won't be collected at VFS. |
Uzee24:Good that you are already doing your 'permutations and calculations' but there is such a thing as the FIRST and RIGHT steps towards seeing all your desire come to feasibility. Firstly, as impressive as it is that you are informed about after study and all (hopefully, you find the best path to your canadian dream), you must also plan and ensure you at all times don't find yourself on the wrong side of the law otherwise, your whole dreams and desire will be marred right before your eyes. CIC always clearly state out their processes, applicable conditions and penalties to all immigration related issues on their website, it will guide you at all times. I don't think you'll be fair to yourself to start now worrying about what will happen or what will not happen. Make a good step first by investing and improving on yourself through their education if you can afford it (assuming you choose the study route) and EVERYTHING is possible from there. Alot of people too do not have anybody in Canada but choose what is best for them and take their own destiny into their hands while doing their possible best in their endeavours but this is not to say you shouldn't be realistic in your intentions. What works/worked for one may not necessarily be directly applicable to another as life's journey and destination will not always give to us what we deserve but what we DEMAND out of it. My advise will be that you first identify what will add to you and better prepare you to solve problems and profer solutions to help humanity and also bring you to your point of fulfilment while being a strong force to reckon with. Trust me, you would live to share some of the greatest testimonies of your life! Na dem go dey find you! Once you set your priorities right and make a BOLD step, God will always crown it! Make a GOOD move first and forget the rest. Favours never leaves diligence the last time I checked! All the best! |
uso84:Just as @QuantumMove01 pointed out, going for a master in HR will favour you considering your qualifications. However, I also will advise you pen down your aspirations and after-study plans in this field with a good SOP so in the long run, it clearly defines your passion in this area. By so doing, you would have sold yourself to a VO to also see the potentials you would be taking to Canada. I believe they will be looking out for that too as every applicant is treated as a potential permanent immigrant and possible citizen irrespective of all the formalities of home ties and returning to home country. By the way, your CGPA is commendable. Weldone! Got your master admission already? |
tysaxmalomo:I also agree with you bro regarding the instance you pointed out but CONTEXTUALLY and regarding this situation, it really isn't. I'm only staying within the confines of the subject matter and besides, a VO may think otherwise but based on past 'GCMS' file inferential analysis, Most VO usually don't see bsc to bsc as academic progression but sometimes consider an applicant on compelling reasons for a switch. This is also not just for both of us but also to guide folks that are considering opting for same to choose rightly as it usually tends to a reg flag under 'purpose of visit' when there are no substantiable reasons. |
tysaxmalomo:From the context @Eraytee made his submissions, he had a good point. The moniker had Bsc already and without stating his/her previous program as a pre-requisite to achieving the intended, It is NOT an academic progression. Whereas, he may have a valid reasons for going for a second Bsc and can convience the VO owing to prior activities(work, study, certifications etc) in the area that may warrant such change, it still isn't a progression as no degree at the same level is higher than the other. Each is relevant for the purpose it exist for. With the examples you gave, it may be but concerning the subject(Context) matter, there is no academic progression. |
michV:Baba, you have a very valid submission here and it's always common to see schools tell applicants about realities of each program. On the other hand, @Megziflips also have a point when he pointed that "It will be more difficult but very possible" which i know you agree too. But also in canada, it's possible to do a PHD after an Meng program though it's often time rare depending on the circumstance. Assuming an Meng graduate did brilliantly in the Masters classes and have published papers from work, project at a company or at a government institution,a professor in that area may likely pick interest in him. A PhD is a Job while at the same time study and part of that job is doing the leading edge research work in that field and prior activities will show these traits even with an Meng degree. The professor of whom you worked with during your Meng program, may have her/his Career hinging on the quality of your work or further work and certainly the professor's future funding will depend upon your brilliant research work. At this point, an academic advancement will be offered as well. Since the individual did not do a Masters thesis, it will come down to the projects you have worked on either at a commercial company, working at government institutions or even your projects during the Meng prog. By and large, this is typical with an exceptional graduate student and will have outstanding reference and recommendations from the professors. N/B.. I have a friend in canada who was offered this opportunity. I'm sharing his experience. |
ladyFola: ladyFola:I think i remember you and the previous case you had. Firstly, I believe you know what you truly have passion for and what will work for you as well as if or not you can afford it. Having said that, going for a master degree in your field will always give you advantages from different angles. To answer your concerns, 1. You are expected to be actively pursuing your course/study as to which a study permit was issued and if there is a change of situation, you must notify CIC. I'll advise you try to get the master admission first from nig, if your study permit is approved, You notify CIC of a change in DLI(school) while asking for a refund from your school and then proceed for your master studies directly. 2. Only you will know what will will help you and add value to yourself. You should take out time to study about the program they are offering you, if it will work for you, fine, otherwise, you still will decide. It shouldn't just be about travelling to canada, you will have to be highly competitive too, so always choose rightly. Meanwhile, the bold statements are unclear, you mentioned you applied for your study permit earlier in sept and again you just submitted your passport, are you reapplying or you got a passport request? |
lovetrumps:Congratulation ma'am. Thank God everthing finally turned out well. |
cube2nerdy:The hospital will understand how to use those information to get your result to CIC. That shouldn't bother you. |

.I later sent a mail back to them that I'll wait till May'17 For the same course I chose initially, but to my greatest surprise again,I was told the course has been filled up .( tho I maid part payment of the tuition fee). Someone later told me from Canada to take the Community Mental Health which I reluctantly told the school thru.mail.
