Hi Austinpee4, i just confirmed this at the bank and i was told form A processing takes up to 2 weeks or more. But the only exception is if you have a domicilliary account with the bank, it can be done in less than 3 days. Bank is gtbank.
House, who has recently used the form A to make payment? At what rate, the m bank and how long it took for the processing to be completed. Thank You all for your contributions.
Anywhere, i just paid my full tuition through form A and it took just 7days!(weekend inclusive). First bank completed the transaction @375 to 1USD.

So you could find other alternatives,a Zenith bank staff told me they completed one recently in a week too. So u may want to try other banks to find out which will be convenient for you.

Understandable,....The point i am driving at is that, we often shoot ourselves in the leg with badly written sop. it is better not to submit one than to put your perfect and compelling profile into disrepute with a carelessly written sop.

Of course, your academic and professional profile must be modest enough for an sop to colour it. I cannot overemphasize the importance of program consistency when it comes to study permit application, however, we should also put other things like sop into consideration while putting a decent application into place.

I dig your points though. Articulate grin

Respect bro !
Very true! Ur head dey dia!

Anyone ever wondered why Canada seldom conduct interview for study visa? It is because they know your sop will comprehensively and accurately tell a story about yourself particularly your rational for pursuing your proposed program. Every other documents submitted is just to buttress your story and that's all. The way you arrange and label your documents and the strategy you employed in drafting a compelling sop will ultimately determine the outcome of your application.
Baba, i couldn't have agreed more with your valued points but i go disagree slightly with the few bold lines.

Individual application presumably will be assesed on a case by case basis. Some are straight forward enough and evidencial supporting documents will speak more for itself than anything an applicant write or try to make a visa officer see. However, If there are discrepancies in any part of an application or an applicant have any particular thing to buttress, a very good SOP will give a VO a different perspective and broaden his/her horizon to see objectively why an applicant is best for his/her choice of program as well as why a carefull review should be given to the application.

So if you say the VO officer "KNOW", it will contradict the fact that a SOP is NOT a requirement for nigerian applicants and therefore it is NOT compulsory. Rather, the study permit questionaire is required of nigerian applicants and this also serve as a summary of an applicants intentions and plans with the intended program.

Remember, the first piece of document a VO will most likely pick up to review is the application form IMM1294E, and then based on the info on it, supporting documents will be reviewed.
I onced asked a VFS staff why he pinned 4-5 documents together(app form, offer letter, family form, study permit questionaire and any prove of fees payment) even before it got to the embassy. He replied that those were always the first documents officers will review once they open the sealed application.

So like you also noted, a well arranged application will always get a nudge with or without a SOP especially if everything add up from the information filled to the supporting documents included.

Personally, i feel once your program choice, level and correlation add up, your finaance is sufficient, hometies are in order, its will make more sense and there will be less burden to start writting plenty things to try to make a VO see what they already have been trained to look out for.

I also do not underestimate the power of a very good SOP, it tells the VO the kind of personality one is, give an insight into an applicant ideology and interest in both the intended program and about canada. They also may use that to asses some key values an applicant will bring to their country since each person is treated as a potential migrant.

So which ever capacity an applicant finds him/her self, one should get things about their application right first before a good SOP to colour it and not the other way round.

Hi guys,

Quick one please . A friend got a mail from CIC to send his new acceptance letter and go for medical

He has done medical before , so he replied to the mail but he got two automated response

one saying ACCRAIMMIGRATION@international.gc.ca
The recipient's mailbox is full and can't accept messages now. Please try resending this message later, or contact the recipient directly.

the other saying: We will review your message shortly. If the information requested is available on our websites or your application is still within standard processing times, we will not provide a response to your message.

Is it something to be worried about ?

Thank you.
The latter response you got means your email has reached them and it's being reviewed. Since you responded to their requests, be rest assured they will respond.
It's absolutely nothing to worry about.

thank you, but there are colleges offering business administration focused on accounting though.

Mba is competitive and expensive, same as masters in finance or accounting.

still thinking now.
I may agree with you but your profile and qualification will not likely make a VO see all these academic relationships in your proposed program because you qualify for a master degree in accounting or an MBA and not a diploma. Also the branch and focus u have mentioned will not be explicitly written on the admission letter you will be submitting to CIC. Business administration only will be written on it. Unless you have a very cogent reason for going for this program and can substantiate it in progressive evidence which is not likely owing to your academic and current work experience, your best bet will be a master degree or an MBA.

CIC sometimes know applicants settle for alternative programs because of various reasons and one of their jobs is to make sure at the end, the intended program is profitable to the applicant and will significantly improve his/her current and present situation(academic or work)

Their job also is to make sure applicants are genuine students(This is where everything must add up from your end), have sufficient funds for their study and will return home after their study.

In light of all these, your intended program isn't a good choice for you. You may reconsider it and since you have a 2:1, your chances of getting a master is higher. Work on the funds aspect, if it's not possible to raise enough for now, you can leave it till you are able to gather sufficient funds and consider another entry term/year.

It's for your overall interest and you'll be happier you made the decision at the end.

nelly28:
yea i strongly guess dey are some VO's in Accra dat don't return documents. i ve seen confirmed 5 case
Well, I don't want to believe it's anything to be concerned about. Actually, when CIC stopped collecting original documents, they mentioned that the photocopies of supporting documents they would start collecting will automatically become the property of CIC and will NOT be returned. I guess this is what is playing out.

So if they choose to return them or not, it's still well within their discretion. Nothing is wrong anywhere.

Not true. I know someone that got hers recently without them returning the supporting documents. Just the refusal letter and her passport.
It could be CIC new style for 2017 or maybe, they don't want applicants to just submit same documents for a reapplication without cross-checking or updating the ones needing updates. #mythoughts.

Wow!! This is massive!!! I just stumbled on this thread through a google search, never knew such thread like this exists on nairaland. My humble regards to everyone in the house. Please house, i am in the process of completing my application to NBCC to study Information Technology: Business Analysis (PGD) through the online route. Now my questions:
(1) Can i submit my application first and later send the transcript (soft copy) to them even when it's stated transcript first before submission of application, any implications cause my university is slowing things down.
(2) Anybody with a trick to help me get the hard copy of my transcript because my university does not give out student copy, and will i need it in TRV application process?
(2) Will it be late if i start my TRV application process in May for September intake?
(3) How do i go about the experience thing cause i dont have experience in that field but i meet all other requirements.
Please guys your quick response is awaited!!! Thanks.
1.There is always a time duration for an individual application to be completed. You application will be considered complete when you send in all required documentation. If the schools says transcripts first, you should follow the instruction. Wait till it you fulfill that requirement.

2. You should further discuss with your school, they could still give you an unofficial copy.
And yes, transcripts is a requirement for a study permit application as required by the visa office for nigerian applicants.

3.It shouldn't be late. However, CIC encourages applicants to send in their application early incase there are unforseen delays that may occur during the processing.

4.Your major challenge is to substantiate with evidence why you are going for your propose program. Be it little or no experience, What you have been doing in that field prior to your application will determine your chance. Also, If the time you finished your undergrad(in that field or related) till now isn't lengthy, You can as well, convience a VO that the program is right for you.

Like it's often pointing out here, we MUST choose prospective programs that will further add to your current or most recent situation(work experience or study).
Anything other than this will be questionable as a ploy to leave the country and will most definitely lead to a refusal on purpose of visit. Eg. You can't finish Geology in 2009/2010 and have been working in the bank from then till now and then decide to go for a PGD/PGC in geology or related field.

No amount of spoken word, Vocabulary, Heavenly gifted writting skills or good command of the english language SOP will convience a VO that naija never tire you! The refusal reason will just face the visa officer in broad day light. We must always choose rightly!

This is just a case senario and not particularly about your case.

All the best to you.

Yes. Transcripts of post secondary education is a requirement of the visa office for nigerian applicants. @Penitential has given you the best advise. Print it and add it to your application.

I agree with you bro. Another very important thing for @BRANDYAK to put into consideration is the time frame between when he finished his undergrad and now.

If the gap is wide, justifiable reasons must be evident in his application that will warrant a higher degree. The key thing to always note in all is, Let your next choice of program reflect your most dominant activity or most recent activities. If it's work experience, it most be sufficient enough to propel more knowledge and skils in form of a higher degree. In this case, a master degree or higher will convience a VO.

4 years in pursuant of a bachelor degree is sufficient for a higher degree but it should have been gotten within the last 1 or 2 years especially when going for PGC/PGD.This reflect recent acquisition of knowledge and since PGC/PGD is mostly tailored for work place demand in canada, a VO will assume an applicant would use it as an entry for the work place.

Otherwise, the burden to convience a VO will be greater and most likely, such application will be questioned for unclear purpose of visit and may result in a refusal if these are not taken into consideration.

There's a Govt. approved laid down procedure to follow online in case you are abroad and require a police report..

Meanwhile... we should grow up in this country!.. You do not need to visit anybody in any of UK/US/CAN and other developed worlds to get a CRB background check done!!!

Such representative/organisation would sign an undertaking to have independently verified the information and finger prints on the application before it is forwarded to the govt which makes them liable for prosecution if there are falsification. That makes it authentic and acceptable.

NigeriaCRB criminality checking agency do this and pre-check all info submitted and sign as a representative of the applicant.

An individual helping anyone might not be able to verify info first before it gets to the govt where anything can go wrong. This is why we encourage people to do it themselves, if they can. The nigerian high commisions abroad also issue clearance to citizens resident there.

. Austin when I went for mine I asked this question this guy just asked . Guess what reply I got from the detective that attended to me that such person should download the form from online and fill the date then thump print following the instruction and scan. That it is accepted.
Well, it's best for one to always follow the laid down guidiance and avoid any process that does not represent such.I will assume that an acceptable fingerprint must be done under supervision(official or non official) unless otherwise stated.A supervising signature has to be signed.
The officer in quote could be prosecuted if found indulging in a cut-corners stuff because it's a criminal investigative matter, precision of informations must be traced to a verifiable source.

We haven't really heard of this particular style here. Most people usually go to do it themselves and negotiate the amount to pay.

If that is what you were told, you don't have to advise people to follow suit. Advise them go there themselves and through the normal procedure to avoid a major setback or problem. Let their decisons there be at their own detriment. Don't aid it. It's also for your own good.

. I can help you get it but it will cost you extra box. Have you ever wondered how people abroad get theirs?
If one is not residing or have not been residing in nigeria, he/she does not need the police clearance cert from nig.You only need police clearance from nig and maybe other countries you've lived more than 6 months when you are applying from nigeria.

People abroad are only expected to submit CIC required documents for the country the are applying from and possibly provide biometric since nigerians need to provide that. It's in rare cases canadian embassies abroad require police clearance issued in nig for nigerians applying from such countries and even if they do and if it involves biometrics, the nigerian embassy in such country will handle it.

The right thing to do is to advise people to go and do it themselves becos their biometrics will be taken which is very IMPORTANT. There shouldn't be a short cut to this.

That they are married isn't going to stop them from being your sisters. Add their birth certs and also remember to specify their marital status on the family information form.

I have my pension and also a registered family company with CAC where I am a director while my dad the CEO." Plus the tenants agreements and receipts of payments do you think I will be good without declaring my siblings?
To add to @Penitential advise , Inclusion of family members on the family form is not only for home ties, it will also help them possibly in the future when you either need to make any immigration application for them later or need to sponsor them to come to canada or help them get legal status in canada once you are there.

So it will do you good to include your family members, this will be on their database and will be use not just when you apply for your study permit but also in the future.

Hello,

Thanks for all your thread. i followed it and got information. i applied Canada visa online and got information that it has been denied due to tie with Canada and home country. I had an expired Australian, New zealand and other countries stamp. Registered business and a property document, my wife Marriage certificate but still can not figure out the refusal reason.

Thanks for your wonderful thread here
The reasons given on the refusal letter are generic. The actual reasons will be known to you when you order for the file the immigration officer made his submission regarding your application and all that made the officer refuse your application. This file is known as GCMS(Global case management system) file. Once you get it, you will then see the actual reasons for the refusal and better tackle it for a reapplication. There are a couple of sites to order for the file. Here is one http://gcmsnow.com. You can make further research for others that could be cheaper for you.
