Kemsure30: The main thing I wanna know or let me say ask is that My program is a diploma program n not a graduate study Is it reasonable Thou hv submitted on wed 11th Jan since you have already submitted your application, you'll have to wait for the outcome. There is really nothing more anyone can advise or suggest to you to help your application at this point. you can only be hopeful everything turns out well at the end. |

princeade09: God bless you, but what I am trying to ask here is that since my uncle has money less than total year fee available, should he still mention in the affidavit that he is ready to sponsor me with the total of my fees every year or should say only part? Well, he can only declare and state what he is willing to do and afford as an affidavit is a binding document. If he states he will sponsor you, he may want to state in what monetary capacity in the affidavit be it in half or full and since you have a co-sponsor, both individuals can elaborate on their capacities as sponsors to you. The main aim should also be to meet CIC requirements. Tuition + 10,000CAD atleast for a year while considering subsequent year (s) of your study. |

My childs application has passed processing time, I sent them an inquiry mail which they have not responded too and the only thing which has just changed in his status is the medical review. Still be patient and hopeful, anytin is possible. They most definitely will get back to you. When? Sadly,no one can really say. I don't get the "medical review" part. Was it changed to passed or still 'under review'? |

princeade09: Good day my people, to all trv hopeful, God will take control.
I have a question, I want to use my uncle and my brother as sponsor be co-sponsor respectively, tuition is like 24000 cad, my uncle for instance has 23 000cad as his account balance and my brother has like 5000cad as balance,
But my uncle is ready to sponsor the entire of my education in canada just that presently his balance is not up to the total fee per year, what can I declare on the affidavit of sponsorship, how can I package this matter?
Many have this same problem I beleive You should also take note that in addition to your tuition fees, CIC requires you have sufficient available resources in the tune of 10000CAD for your living expenses for atleast a year while showing source(s) of income for subsequent year (s). In your case, your sponsors will have to prove this. Aside the available balance, they must show a RELIABLE source of income to caretare for you and their own needs. One conviencing way to showing responsibility to a PRINCIPAL applicant's financially from a 3rd party(uncle) is commitment and not just stating in writting. If you can get your sponsors to pay your tuition (full or part) with the money the presently have while showing the have a reliable source of income and also state why they are sponsoring you, It could boost your application. But then, Paying of school fees is not a guarantee of a study permit approval, other aspect of your application must be conviencing too. All the best to you. |

lovetrumps: Hello house please my question is to those who do upfront medicals. Does your review of medical result change to passed in your cic account or does it remain medical review not started Once the upfront medical information is reviewed and you meet the requirements, it will be updated to 'medical passed' on your account.Until that happens, it's still pending a review with the 'medical review not started' status. |

penitential: @Austinpee, this is the post that made me believe her app doc was perfect. If not, other reasons would have been marked. And also for the embassy to send medical mail, the applicant stand a very good chance of getting TRV approval, cos V.Os most times go through documents submitted and if satisfied, request for medical result. some of the refusal letter after medical call (not front loaded) are based on the medical results. Note- if the supporting docs are not convincing enough, they (V.Os) won't send medical mail before refusing such app. Alright bro. For the benefit of those reading now or later, The bold was the case in previous times but NOT anymore.Pls note, Study permits are now still refused after medical mails and sometimes after medical passed. This could be for various reasons or as a result of a new information concerning your application. All you should do is to stay positive throughout the different stages of your application till a final decision is made.CIC processes and procedures are very unpredictable. |

penitential: I don't think her app need anything correct again, she was delayed cos she didn't respond to medical mail on time, aside that, all other documents are very perfect. Well, like we have seen on this thread, medical mails are never guarantee to a study permit approval. It only shows a preliminary review has been made and not a final decision. Study permit applications are still refused after medicals for various reasons even the almighty 'PURPOSE OF VISIT'. Besides, i don't think she shared all she submitted with her app so you may not know for sure that it was "PERFECT" Also, i used 'if necessary'.Possible her application was just perfect in the first submission. |

thesoj: PS: You can study computer security in a masters program, but it would be a specialization under a computer science masters program. It also likely would be more foundational and theoretically comprehensive than what you'd get in a PGD program on computer security. My sentiment exactly. Also, IT generally have extensive and direct application of it's content.Work place focused master degree in IT (MIT,Meng,MIS)have surfaced over time in canada and computer/network security is one critical area that have it's comprehensive approach, global standards and practicability which the research focused degree like an msc or a PGD which will have slightly less detailed concepts to tackle emerging issues in same field may not afford one. But then, it still boils down to what the applicant wants. I agree with you bro @thesoj |

princeadedayo: I quite disagree. In a situation where by a decision has been reached, your passport would be requested by Lagos office or ABUJA depending on where u reside thereafter it will be sent to which ever country that is processing it. That's why PP takes time if u notice for online applicants. When the passport is back you will see d country that issued it. They don't issue on behalf of each other I can understand your point clearly but just so you get all i wrote. VFS is tasked with the responsibilty of transmitting passports from the canadian embassy to applicants. Sometimes, applicants choose to use courier service to submit their passport to the embassy upon request and like you pointed out, depending on where you reside, you choose which is convenient for you. Approval of a study permit for online applicant can be done anywhere across the different canadian embassies but your TRV will be issued in the nearest canadian embassy serving your region.Your application will have a UCI(unique Client Identifier) and application number which the Visa office and CIC agencies will use to issue official documention at anytime and place. As a matter of fact, Passport transmission accross countries are subject to territorial laws and most time forbidden. The length and time delays of transmission of passport between VFS/Courier is just the normal transit times of delivery. So bro, even though your study permit is approved in the US, your TRV will be issued in Accra,/lagos/Abuja. You really don't expect them to send your passport to the US just for this purpose. I doubt much this is feasible. |

perrychemical: I am happy to be on this thread. I am also an applicant to the University of Regina for Summer intake for Mengr with coop in Petroleum System Engineering. I really need advice on what to do while applying for TRV. I really need people to help me out. You seem to have a good advantage and a strong chance of getting a study permit approval with all you outlined here. However, You must first secure admission for your intended program. Good a thing you are already thinking ahead. 1.Including your previous Msc in your application can be to ur advantage or not. If you eventually gain admission into the same chemical engineering for the second master, conviencing the VO maybe difficult becos you have one already in that area and have mentioned it. If you choose to go for a branch in your field or a closely related area in your field which i can see you are opting for, this could fly as you can explain in your SOP your interest in that area and it's significance to you moving forward but this will always be substantiated with previous activity (s) in that area.(Work experience, research). 2. You know what you've been engaging yourself with since you left the job in 2014, You can relate it to your profession or better still, research interest. If you choose not to include your previous msc in your application, all the gaps prior now must be explained and tend towards a need to upgrade academically. 3.Your schoolarship apparently covers pretty much everything and i want to believe it's for the entire duration of your program. But the inconsistencies surrounding remitting of funds for nigerian students on schoolarships have been often seen and i also believe the VO are aware of this, if you can have the agency pay your tuition, accomodation before you apply for your study permit, it should boost your chances. All the best to you. |

I don't think so I have seen someone whose trv got approved like a day before in France and his passport was ready for collection the next day. I think they use a very fast service in transporting their documents. It's just God that decides how fast it comes out You are correct. Online application can be proceesed anywhere but then, when it is approved, your passport upon request will be sent to the nearest canadian embassy and not necessarily the office that reviewed and approved your application. This is just to make it faster to get your trv stamped and enable you travel. The approved study permit will be issued when you arrive the airport in canada. |

I mean if a very good account Is presented by an undergraduate student heading for an engineering course, has paid tuition fees and still has like 12 million in his account... A good travel history to the UK twice and enough home ties including parents and lands owned by parents...... Can TRV still denied based on discretionary judgement from the vo? Yes, Approvals are totally at their discretion. You can only aid their decision with the supporting documents, quality, credibility and simplicity of your application. A good account to you might not be one to them irrespective of the closing balance, likewise your travel histories ,lands and all. They are only going to help your case as an applicant. How you are able to link your supporting documents to your case as well as meeting their requirement is KEY. TRV can be denied for various and ridiculous reasons.Every single details of your application is critical. |

It's 10 weeks since I submitted Bro, i think i can remember you and your case. I also remember i responded to your previous worry. Anywhere, from your application dashboard, CIC hasn't requested for a medical examination from you yet. otherwise, you would see "we need your medical information" on this dashboard and if they even did during the 2 months you couldn't link your application like your are worried they may have, by now, they probably would have closed and refused your application for failing to complete a medical examination as requested. poppywasiu: @folaroyal and others please i have a big issue please help me out. i refused in US visa twice but i am not stated it in my application. see down below of what i recieved for accra, canada embassy.
Dear Wasiu Popoola:
I have reviewed your application and documents you submitted in its support. Subsection 11(1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act provides that a foreign national must, before entering Canada, apply to an officer for a visa or any other document required by the Regulations. The visa or document shall be issued if, following an examination, the officer is satisfied that the foreign national is not inadmissible and meets the requirements of this Act.
I have concerns that you have not fulfilled the requirement put upon you by section 16(1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, which states:
16(1) A person who makes an application must answer truthfully all questions put to them for the purpose of the examination and must produce a visa and all relevant evidence and documents that the officer reasonably requires.
On the current application form, you indicate that you have never been refused any kind of visa, admission, or been ordered to leave Canada or any other country. According to information in our records, you were refused a visa to the United States in 2014 and 2015.
Please note that if it is found that you have engaged in misrepresentation in submitting your application, you may be found to be inadmissible under section 40(1)(a) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. A finding of such inadmissibility would render you inadmissible to Canada for a period of five years according to section 40(2)(a):
40(1) A permanent resident or a foreign national is inadmissible for misrepresentation (a) for directly or indirectly misrepresenting or withholding material facts relating to a relevant matter that induces or could induce an error in the administration of this Act
40(2) The following provisions govern subsection (1): (a) the permanent resident or the foreign national continues to be inadmissible for misrepresentation for a period of five years following, in the case of a determination outside Canada, a final determination of inadmissibility under subsection (1) or, in the case of determination in Canada, the date the removal order is enforced.
I would like to give you an opportunity to respond to this information. I will afford you fifteen (15) days from the date of this letter to make any representations in this regard. Please use the address noted on this letter for all correspondence, and clearly indicate your file number. If you do not respond to this request within the time outlined above, your application will be assessed based on the information available, which will likely result in a refusal.
Thank you for the interest you have shown in Canada.
Regards,
Immigration Section Immigration Section | Programme d'immigration (MB) High Commission of Canada | Haut commissariat du Canada P.O. Box 1639 42 Independence Ave., Accra, Ghana Phone | Tél.: +233 (030) 2211521
Fax | Téléc: +233 (030) 2211524 Website: www.canadainternational.gc.ca/ghana Like it's been frequently pointed out here, Canada and the US share information regarding immigration and other security issues. Answering questions on any visa application form MUST always be done sincerely and truthfully at all times so as not to jeopardize your immigration not just to canada but any other country. This issue is always very serious especially when it concerns a nigerian considering our antecedents in most countries of the world. Having said these, Bro, you should try in your own best to explain why u didn't include the refusals in your application ,circumstances surrounding those refusals and how you responded to the first and second refusals. You have to be detailed about this because trust me, the may still know more about you that they didnt state in the email the sent to you. Since you did conceal the info abt those refusals, the burden to make them believe there is absolutely nothing more you are hiding will be greater on your part. I will advise if you can, get a legal practitioner to also write to them concerning this issue. There is a question of credibility and misrepresentation already on your application. You should respond to them appropraitely and conviencingly so it doesn't generally damage your immigration history. Try and respond to them and hopefully things will turn out well. All the best. To other people reading this, Please let's always answer their questions sincerely and truthfully. A previous refusal is not always a bad thing. As a matter of fact,It does more good than harm.a disclosure puts a strong credibility on the application and the VO will review other information and supporting doc from that premise. |

Your purpose of visit will be questioned at any attempt to apply for a study permit with an advanced diploma. This is a NO NO! One thing to note is that, gaining admission is one thing and getting a study permit is another. You have a bsc and an msc..A diploma is NOT an academic progression for you considering your academic level. If you choose to apply for a masters instead, you may which to leave out the previous one you got out totally in your study permit application while explaining circumstances surrounding any academic gap(s). Choose a program that is best related to your previous education and study interest and relate this to your situation as you show a progression academically and career wise. |

Or should i just apply for January 2018 entry? What do you suggest Gurus? You should be more concerned about gaining admission for your intended program. When you are ready to apply for your study permit, many factors will come in play and not just your NYSC. i'll advise you to focus more on your admission and let the rest be in perspective. ladyFola: Hi house ,please,I need ur urgent advice ! I got admission from Niagara College,ON to study Critical Care Nursing this year, to resume by Sept '16 but I deffered it to Jan'17 because I was unable to pay my tuition fee due to No form A blablabla from banks and I was told by the school that if I mistakenly refuse to resume by Jan'17 with intention of resuming by May'17,i would have to pay another $500 CAD (application fee). The issue now is,I applied online on 24th Sept, had biometrics done on 28th September'16 and since then, till now, nothing has been heard from CIC but just " Thanks for being patient" of which I sent a mail to Accra and I was told my application was on queue pending processing. I discussed with an agent today, though, I applied online by myself. And the agent told me that I can get a Lawyer who will assist me in sending a mail/ letter to the school, then school gets in touch with CIC which could make the processing faster. My main questions are: 1. How appropriate is it to send a letter from a lawyer to the school? 2. Do u think school has any "say" about VISA processing 3. What's d probability that if school interferes,my visa application will be processed faster. 4.School resumes on 9th,Jan '17.Is there still hope for me? NOTE: No medical examination been done ooo Thanks so much! 1.If the sole purpose of getting the lawyer is to talk to your school about your possible resumption other than jan '17, well, you can discus any likelihood with the lawyer first but i believe generally, schools deal directly with students and authorized representatives. So you can get further advise from both parties.Other than this, i doubt schools will influence a study permit process with CIC. 2.Sequel to d later part of ans 1, Schools DO NOT have a say in decisions on study permit application. They can only provide relevant documentation (acceptance letter, fees schedules, schoolarship letters etc) to aid your application as study permit application have a different circumstance and situation surrounding an applicant's case which is not same with admission to study. 3. Already answered. 4.Anything is possible. Best regards. |
