https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XEnPvZWTxuU Who buys a Porsche to haul stuffs? Despite being synonymous to speed, the Porsche Cayenne has proven its might buy pulling a whopping 259,000kg Airbus A380. Definitely a publicity stunt, the German automaker teamed up with Air France at Charles de Gaulle airport in France to set a new world record. The Airbus A380 double-decker jet is the largest passenger aircraft in the world and second largest production civilian aircraft after the the Antonov cargo jet. Imagine the Cayenne pulling this humongous object over a distance of 42 meters (138 feet). After achieving the record with a 4.1-liter, V8, 380 hp, 630 lb-ft of torque Cayenne S diesel engine,.. they did the same thing with the 4.8-liter V8, 560 hp, 590 lb-ft of torque Cayenne Turbo S petrol engine. Car Auction In Nigeria According to reports, Cars45 has received a $5million funding from Frontier Cars Group supported by Balderton Capital, EchoVC and TPG Growth. Etop Ikpe who is a co-founder at Cars45 said, he is delighted to get such support in the industry. He further added that Cars45 aims of ensuring reduced difficulties when trying to sell off a used cars. “The used-car market in Nigeria is generally a big hassle. There’s so much mistrust, no vehicle history, and not much of a structured dealer network. We’ve created something that changes all that, offering transparency, speed, convenience, and safety, in a highly frictional and opaque market.” Etop Ikpe said Cars45 was founded in 2016 by Etop Ikpe with Iyamu Mohammed, Sujay Tyle, and Peter Lindholm as co-founders. https://autojosh.com/cars45-gets-5million-funding/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 Ishilove Marpol Semid4lyfe Obinoscopy Seun

Are they trying to break a world record? Benz US has been known for issuing multiple recalls at once but 8 is an extreme. This latest Benz recall covers different models ranging from C-Class to the G-Wagon. A total of 12,743 C-Class, GLC and S-Class were recalled for non-functional seatbelt pre-tensioners. Only 2017 models are affected. 10,832 G-Class, C-Class and GLK are recalled for steering couplings that may not have been properly tightened. Roof spoilers in 411 E-Class models could also detach while another 15 have issues with instrument panels. Another set of C-Class model have problems with improperly welded power steering motors, and a single unit of R-Class was recalled because it could have its engine shut off prematurely. The entire number of vehicles recalled is 24,478. Not much though but the varieties caught our attention. https://autojosh.com/mercedes-has-issued-8-new-recalls/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 Ishilove Marpol Semid4lyfe Obinoscopy Seun

11 Car Myths There are several ideas or stories we believe in that are not true. Today, we’ll be looking at those false believes that relates to cars and driving. Let’s go. 1) All SUVs are Jeeps: Actually, the reverse is the case. Not all SUVs are Jeeps but all Jeeps are SUVs. Jeep is an American automobile brand just like Innoson, BMW and Toyota.. They specialize in making SUVs. This blunder is equivalent to calling all detergents.. “OMO” or calling all Noodles.. “Indomie”. 2) All 4 Cylinder Engines are V4: It is absolutely interesting when you are asked if your Toyota Camry has a 4 cylinder or 6 cylinder engine.. and your response is “V4” … V4 ke?? The correct answer should be 4 cylinder, inline-four or straight-four engine.. because the four cylinders are mounted in a straight line as seen in the picture. If you have to funkinize it, you can just say I4. You will never say V4 again if you are aware of how uncommon and obsolete V4 car engines are. Although, they are still used in some motorcycles because they are compact. Some of the cars that have the V4 engine configuration are Lancia Fulvia, Ford Taunus, Ford Essex, 1980 Saab 9-6 , America’s AMC M422 and Soviet Union’s ZAZ Zaporozhets. So don’t even talk about V4 if you are not driving any of these cars. 3) All 6 Cylinder Engines are V6: Not all 6 cylinder engines are mounted in the V-configuration so they cannot all be called V6. Straight-six engine, inline-six engine or I6 engines can be found in some BMW, Benz, VW, Porsche, Nissan (Skyline) and even the Toyota Supra. 4) Some Cars Are Faster Than Others Even At The Same KM/H: We all had our fair share of believing this when we were kids.. If you still believe your car at 80km/h overtook another car doing 120km/h on the highway, please wake up! It is highly impossicant.. if there is any word like that. Except in the event of a faulty speed gauge. 5) 4 Wheel Drive Vehicles Can Fly: I remember a friend who strongly believed his Dad’s Nissan Patrol could fly back in the days.. because it could go through rough terrains other cars wouldn’t dare. Well, it can only drive through but not fly over. 6) SUV Drivers Are Richer Than Drivers Of Saloon Cars: Some of us will say… “that guy don hammer, no be car him even buy, nah jeep” Jeep=SUV. The SUV might be a 2001 model but nah still jeep any day even over a 2012 saloon.. For real? Various researches across the world has also shown that SUV drivers are 4 times more likely to be narcissists, self-centred, impatient, aggressive and ignore laws than saloon drivers. More like.. “you know me!” “Do you know what I am driving?” Nah Jeep 7) Change Your Engine Oil Every 3,000 Miles: Your car user manual gives an explicit answer to this. So don’t stick to the every 3,000 miles myth which dates back to 1970s when oil technology was still developing. However, engines and oil technology has since improved drastically. Some synthetic oils now last up to 15,000 miles or 1 year. 8 ) Overdrive Makes Your Car Go Faster: If you are racing another car on third mainland bridge and you turn on the overdrive in order to disappear into thin air, OYO is your case o. Overdrive actually puts your car in a higher gear for coasting or cruising on the highway. It reduces engine RPM, leading to better fuel consumption, lower noise and lower wear. It is different from sport mode. 9) All Recently Purchased Cars Are “Brand New”: This has become increasingly popular especially on news headlines. The news title will say “Man gets Brand New SUV as birthday gift”… click on the link and all you’ll see is a 2003 Murano which looks like Nigerian used. There is a clear dichotomy between brand new and Tokunbo. We can’t be calling a car, brand new after the manufacturer already moved on over 10 years ago. 10) Changing Lanes Frequently In Traffic Makes You Go Faster: This must have happened to you a couple of times. Despite hopping from one lane to the other in traffic, cars that maintained a single lane still left you behind. That means.. lane prostitution does not pay. 11) Men Are Always Better Drivers Than Women: This is definitely not true. Some men always scratch their cars especially when reversing.. while their wives are Gone In 60 Seconds. The female driver I trip for the most is a Megabus double decker bus driver… After conquering the highways, she turned the monstrous bus into a Kia Picanto within the city with her sharp maneuvers. I had to go salute her at the end of the trip. Is there anyone you are guilty of or anyone I didn’t add? Tell us in the comment section. https://autojosh.com/11-car-myths-you-should-stop-believing-today/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 Ishilove Marpol Semid4lyfe Obinoscopy Seun

The 27 year old received a bespoke Range Rover SVAutobiography Dynamic shortly before his Saturday night fight with Wladimir Klitschko. He retained his IBF title and claimed the vacant WBA and IBO belts after knocking out Klitschko in the 11th round. The amazing SUV is said to cost £150,000.. with specially tuned 5.0-litre V8 engine that produces 550PS and 680Nm of torque, and will dash to 60mph in 5.1 seconds. Every detail of this SUV was chosen by Anthony Joshua himself.. from the wheels to the fabric. He also has his signature scribbled all over the dashboard and headrest and his name printed on metal plates. After receiving his prize vehicle, He said: “I spend a lot of time on the road travelling to Sheffield during my training camps so I am incredibly grateful to Land Rover and the SVO (Special Vehicle Operations) team for their assistance. “The Range Rover SVAutobiography Dynamic is the pinnacle of luxury and performance and it has been a pleasure to partner with the SVO team to create a version unique to my tastes. “I had a fantastic experience in specifying this Range Rover, and the level of design detail in the finished vehicle is stunning, from the boxing glove emblems in the door handles to the custom storage unit for my training equipment.” See more photos and video.. https://autojosh.com/anthony-joshua-rangerover/

Electric cars ,hybrids and self driving cars, are currently receiving more attention than they have ever gotten in history. In the spotlight today is electric cars ,but how much do you really know about electric cars ? Lets find out some facts !. 1. Electric cars where invented before cars that use fuel or diesel. The first small scale electric car was invented in 1828,it wasn’t very efficient but it worked !. 2. The first crude electric vehicle ,that was regarded as the real deal was created in 1832 by English inventor Robert Anderson . 3. By 1901 to 1912 a third of all the cars on US roads where electric cars ,still not wowed ?,check the next one . 4. The average speed of electric vehicles at the time was about 14 miles per hour . 5. In 1901 Ferdinand Porsche, founder of the famous Porsche cars we know, created the Lohner-Porsche Mixte — the world’s first hybrid electric car. The vehicle was powered by electricity stored in a battery and a gas engine. 6. By 1935 all the electric vehicles seemed to disappear . Why ?, because Ford few years earlier finally built something faster ,with more horsepower and there was crude oil readily available in Texas and it was very cheap ! . 7. Nowadays,up to 80% of battery energy is directly transferred to power an electric car compared to up to 26% or as little as 14% of fuel-driven vehicles, making electric cars a highly efficient mode of transport. 8. As at the end of 2016 Nissan Leaf was and still is the most sold electric car of all time ,it would have been Chevrolet volt but it has a gas engine as well,so its a hybrid. Most likely Tesla might break this record when they make public their sales record for 2016 and 2017. 9. The fastest electric car in the world is the NIO EP9,created by a company called NextEv.Its top speed is 194 mph and it moves from 0 to 124 mph in 7.1 seconds .As if that is not enough it has 1,342 hp. 10. The electric car with the longest driving range is the Tesla Model S.It has a driving range of approximately 335 miles. At least it would take you about half way if you are driving to Kano from Lagos before recharging. Enjoyed this list , Have something to add ? We would like to hear from you. https://autojosh.com/x-facts-about-electric-cars-you-might-not-know/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 Ishilove Marpol Semid4lyfe Obinoscopy Seun

Toyota Motor North America has recalled some 2016 and 2017 Tacoma trucks... about 228,000 vehicles are affected. The recall is due to rear differentials that may leak oil. This can damage the rear differential resulting to loss of control as well as a crash. Toyota dealers are expected to inspect affected vehicles for oil leakage.. The rear differential carrier gasket will be replaced if leaks are found. However, only the fasteners will be re-tightened if there are no leaks. Also, damaged differential carrier assembly will be replaced and all these will be at no cost to the vehicle owner. Notifications will be sent to all affected customers. https://autojosh.com/toyota-tacoma/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 Ishilove Marpol Semid4lyfe Obinoscopy Seun

Always forget where you parked? A new Google Maps feature has you covered. Google (GOOG) officially rolled out the new feature on Tuesday, which it reportedly beta-tested for Android users last month. Tap the blue dot showing your location to see an option to save your parking place on the map. A label will pop up showing where you parked your car. By tapping on that label, you can open up a "parking card" to add additional details about the parking spot. Users can save an image of the spot and send their parking location to friends. Last November, Apple (AAPL, Tech30 ) launched a similar but automatic parking-detection tool for Apple Maps. If iOS users connect their iPhones to their cars using Bluetooth, their parking spots will be automatically added to the map with a pin when they disconnect and get out of their car. Google offers a similar feature for iOS owners using Google Maps. Toyota has unveiled a zero emission trailer truck in a bid to put hydrogen fuel cell technology to use. The project will be experimented at the port of Los Angeles. The port has implemented a Clean Air Action Plan and large vehicles are responsible for a large portion of the port’s emissions. The concept truck uses two Mirai fuel cell stacks and a 12-kWh battery producing over 670 horsepower and 1,325 pound-feet of torque. It has a driving range of 200 miles which is more than enough for the short distance ground freight within the port. Toyota has experimented the hydrogen fuel cell project on busses in Japan.. and they intend to partner with Shell to increase the number of hydrogen fill-up stations in California. “Toyota believes that hydrogen fuel cell technology has tremendous potential to become the powertrain of the future,” says Toyota Motor North America’s Bob Carter. “With Project Portal, we’re proud to help explore the societal benefits of a true zero emission heavy-duty truck platform.” https://autojosh.com/zero-emission-trailer-trucks/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 Ishilove Marpol Semid4lyfe Obinoscopy Seun

Nigerian road users have seen a lot ,experienced a lot .But recent spike in things that shouldn’t be happening is a cause for concern. And hopefully the government would investigate and produce a lasting solution if possible. Lets find out some of them. 1.Increase In Fire Incidences This may seem vague to some of you but take a close look, create a pattern .There have been so many Danfo,Tanker and private car fire incidences in the past 2 months, sure some of them are a result of over-speeding but not all.Is there a problem with the petroleum products being sold to Nigerians ?.Oh! maybe this is why the fuel in my generator doesn’t last any more . 2.Uber Palaver If you have been following us here on Autojosh you would have seen about 4-5 cases related to Uber in the last two months.Drivers and passengers have had a fair share of the issues that come with Uber, including robbery. What is the government doing about this ?.How effective has the new taxi law in Lagos been, which promised the safety of people that use Uber ?. 3.One Chance While this is not new in Nigeria ,it has seen a considerable increase from mid 2016 to April 2017.Some even use POS machines to rob their victims !.What measures are being put in place to avert this or catch the perpetrators in a worse case scenario . 4.Highway Robberies A close cousin to one chance and not also new in Nigeria ,but with recent occurrences in the last one month I had to add this .The government has to channel certain armed forces or make use of recent technology to avert this. What are your thoughts on this ? Have a thing or two to contribute ? Kindly comment , we would like to hear from you. Are you a car lover and you always think about driving different cars on a daily basis? This is pretty easy for the affluent who can change cars every other day. It is equally easy for frequent travelers who can rent various cars as soon as they land in Dubai or Los Angeles.. Furthermore, they can even walk into any car dealership and take a car on a spin (test drive) especially when abroad.. If the options stated above are not readily available to you, the 6 jobs/businesses listed below can help you achieve that dream of driving different cars daily pending when you HAMMER . 6 places to work/businesses to do if you dream of driving different cars daily: Valet Parking You can take up a valet job at Intercontinental and some other hotels in Nigeria. Apart from your wages, you may be getting good tips. I remember getting a N10,000 tip for a valet service I rendered at Southern Sun Hotel in Ikoyi Lagos back in December 2009. I loved driving the man’s Pajero SUV but I loved the N10,000 tip more. I was amazed! The distance I drove was not even up to the length of a football field. https://i63.tinypic.com/nd2csz.jpg Auto Repair Shop No car is immune to faults or dents.. so cars visiting repair shops is inevitable. Imagine asking a professional auto technician or body specialist how many cars they have driven. e.g I usually have a feel of luxury brands like Rolls Royce, Ferrari, Bentleys etc anytime I visit a friend that runs a body shop. https://i66.tinypic.com/9tpb0g.jpg Car Dealership As a car dealer or auto salesperson, knowing how to drive is the number 1 criterion for the job/business. The drive can be as short as re-parking cars in the parking lot or as long as delivering a car to Kafanchan from Lagos. https://i67.tinypic.com/28bxyu1.jpg Car Wash Most organised car wash do not allow car owners drive within their premises. Because some car owners don’t have the required expertise to make tight maneuvers and parking. Therefore, they usually need experts who can drive without bashing other cars. https://i63.tinypic.com/5dtmdu.jpg Sea Port Terminal A large chunk of the cars on Nigerian roads came in through the ports.. You can render your service to port terminal companies like PTML (Ports & Terminal Multiservices Limited).. by driving all those cars off the ship to the parking lot as well as from the parking lot to the exit gate as the car owners are not allowed to drive within their premises. https://i65.tinypic.com/346upok.jpg Lube Bay & Tyre Service Centres This is another place car owners usually hand over their car keys. The service guys drive the car onto the pit or car lift. They also do a test drive before and/or after checking the alignment/wheel balancing. https://i65.tinypic.com/14t66fl.jpg Do you have any to add, let’s hear you in the comment section Don’t forget to rate, like and share. https://autojosh.com/x-places-to-work-if-you-want-to-be-driving-different-cars-daily/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 Ishilove Marpol Semid4lyfe Obinoscopy Seun |
Have you been down this road before, you bought a car with your last penny without thinking of the maintenance cost? 2 years ago a guy used his life savings to buy a Range Rover Sport because he loved it so much… He was dazzed by the first fault within a month… Repair cost was over N1million for a vehicle he got for N5m (i.e 20% of the purchase price). I guess he is still drinking the garri because he has since downgraded to a Toyota Pencil light. Maintenance cost can be determined by the complexity of faults, availability/cost of parts, required technical expertise, labour cost etc. Below is the list of popular car brands with the most and least expensive maintenance cost in Nigeria. Least Expensive Cars Brands To Maintain In Nigeria Toyota https://i66.tinypic.com/2k2b2o.jpg Honda https://i64.tinypic.com/24vv9qa.jpg Lexus https://i66.tinypic.com/9zwugz.jpg Hyundai https://i68.tinypic.com/3495vo2.jpg Kia https://i64.tinypic.com/2ikv3w3.jpg Most Expensive Car Brands To Maintain In Nigeria Mercedes-Benz https://i64.tinypic.com/2whkxvm.jpg BMW https://i64.tinypic.com/14ng12r.jpg Volkswagen https://i65.tinypic.com/6xrfuv.jpg Ford https://i65.tinypic.com/258yttl.jpg Land Rover https://i65.tinypic.com/2qa1iix.jpg https://autojosh.com/popular-car-brand-maintenance/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 Ishilove Marpol Semid4lyfe Obinoscopy Seun |
As much as I hate writing bad articles about the Nigerian Police ,I have no choice. I do not in any way subscribe to committing a crime and running away with it .So make sure you are clean at all times and have your complete papers. But its annoying when you get stopped or flagged down for no good reason . Lets see some ways we can prevent this from happening. 1.Know Their Timing If you know their routes and you ply the route constantly ,know their timing and just avoid them when you know they would be present. 2.Know Their Concentration Spots There are some areas in Lagos where you just can’t avoid them.Areas like Mushin,Ikeja,Maryland. So you might want to take alternative routes to your destination if you can. 3.Avoid Major Roads If you stay in Lagos and drive on Lagos roads ,you should know and understand creeks and corners that are alternative routes to your destination. It won’t only help you avoid the Men In Black,it would also help you beat traffic. 4.Drive A Very Expensive Car Well, this could go the other way if you encounter very bold police officers. But most police men would avoid very expensive cars because they are afraid of the unknown(who the occupant is). 5.Don’t Get Into An Argument Or Road Rage Arguing with other drivers(most times danfo drivers) is like a magnet to the police. Its like you are saying “I am available for exploitation”.Just avoid argument as much as you can. 6.Don’t Break Any Law While this is obvious ,the problem comes when you actually don’t know what the “law” is.This guys create their own laws right on the spot just to exploit people. So just be careful not to break them. What do you think ?,do you know any way to avoid them. Kindly comment below. https://autojosh.com/prevent-police-flagging/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 Ishilove Marpol Semid4lyfe Obinoscopy Seun

Cars are fun to drive and they usually put a smile on the faces of their owners. However, they breakdown sometimes which leads to disappointments, stressful visits to the mechanic workshop as well as a hole in your bank account or a financial knockout in extreme cases. This could be an avenue for your inexperienced mechanics to exploit and leave you unsatisfied. A fact most drivers are yet to discover is they know more about their cars than an average mechanic. These are some of the resources at our disposal which will enable us outsmart them: 1. Car Owner Manual: This is a book or booklet that comes with all cars containing its essential information and instruction for use. Many of us neglect them till they become dusty with their vast content, which includes: Safety instructions, maintenance information, features, vehicle operational directions etc. It also tells us about the tyres, brakes, fluids, when to change the timing chain/belt and when to change the engine oil as well as the type of oil to use. For example, a 2011 Ford Explorer started to act funny and the maintenance required light came on about a month after its first oil change in Nigeria. The mechanics serviced the vehicle again and did all they could to no avail; they were about to decouple the vehicle before we advised them to use the recommended engine oil in the manual. It was all like magic to them. The manual is a factual document from the manufacturer while some mechanics do guess work more than you could imagine. This document teaches us to be proactive in handling our cars. This will do a great deal in reducing our dependence on mechanics and ultimately reduce repair cost. 2. Inferior Parts: Some mechanics are synonymous with inferior car parts and claim they are helping you to save cost. The cost you save today will be compounded for you at a future date. Brand new original parts are better; if you have to settle for less, make sure you buy a certified first grade tokunbo part. 3. Online community and forum: People who have been on car forums will immediately understand and appreciate this point. There is nothing as wonderful as asking any question about your car and you get a quick response from experts like Gazzuzz, Siena and other car experts as well as other drivers who have had a similar issue. The issue with the car might just need a do it yourself fix. The knowledge you’ve gained from the forum will also enable you engage your mechanic more effectively. If varied opinions are given to you on the forum, you will have to eliminate from the least relevant. 4. Routine and Scheduled Maintenance: Do not pass the buck when it comes to the maintenance of your vehicle. Keep track of your last oil, air filter, transmission fluid and timing belt change as well as tyre rotations. You have to do some of the maintenance yourself; the mechanic may not be able to keep track of your car's maintenance schedule because they work on several cars except you use a repair shop that has a proper system. 5. Trust: Always trust the car user manual more that your mechanic and consider the knowledge you have gained from forums when in serious doubt of your mechanic’s opinion. This only makes sense because manufacturer wants the best for their cars in as much as they want you to patronize them for replacement parts. Furthermore, the experience of various forum commenters cannot be over-emphasized. Run away from any mechanic you cannot trust. However, avoid being on a constant run as this could do you more harm. Your car will treat you right if you give it the treatment it deserves. Do not say Honda cars have transmission problems when you use Abro transmission oil. Finally, be weary of mechanics without a car diagnostics scanner as they will rely solely on their instinct. What effective strategies have you been using to counter your mechanic? Tell us in the comment section. https://autojosh.com/best-car-mechanic/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 Ishilove Marpol Semid4lyfe Obinoscopy Seun

Car technology and improvement is growing at a rate that we can’t even keep up with .Science fiction movies have been giving us predictions from the early 1960s till this point .Most of these technologies are already available. You have probably heard about some of them and others you probably don’t know already exists. Lets get right in ! 1.Flying Cars Having a car you can move on the road and in the air is a dream a lot of people can’t just wait to see. While there are a lot of prototypes, there are already functional ones that are still undergoing testing and modifications .Check out the video below : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DJv3l6bhoAo 2.Amphibious Cars If a flying car has failed to fascinate you,how about a car that moves on land,on water and under water . Yeah its already in existence .And if you think it is a recent technology then you are wrong .One that was built in recent history is the Amphicar Model 770 built in 1961,it could move on land and on water ,but not underwater about 4000 units were built. A more recent car in this category is the Rinspeed sQuba which can move underwater and on land. Some cars were built as far back as the 1800’s that could move on land and water ,but they were not as successful as the aforementioned. 3.Car That Communicate With Their Owners Old school Sci-fi movies just couldn’t stop showing us talking cars ,well they are now in existence ,from the most basic GPS lady to more advance features like you giving your car voice command and receiving a voice feedback. How awesome !. 4.Cars That Drive Themselves The crave for self-driving cars is on the increase while some people are still scared of them. Its no news that autonomous and semi-autonomous cars already exist. 5.Cars That Communicate With Each Other Now lets dive away a bit from a car that can talk to you ,how about cars that can communicate with each other .Its called V2V or Vehicle to Vehicle communication. It allows vehicles communicate various things with each other like their position ,alert themselves of potential collisions etc. While its still undergoing a lot of development ,significant success has been attained. I just hope these cars won’t have misunderstanding with each other like humans . 6.Cars That Can Read Your Emotions And Preferences If you feel your friend or spouse just doesn’t understand you or your feelings.Get a car that can do so.There are cars that study their drivers preference of music, preferred routes etc.An example of such car is the customized BMW i8 that has IBM’s Watson artificial intelligence integrated into it. 7.Transformers Seen the Transformers movie ?,well a company has built something like that .A Turkish company “Letrons” has modified a BMW 3-series car to create a real life transformer.Check it out below : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=suw2k4283PY The Japanese have also created something similar : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QuhkJPUw1T0 While its not as good as the one in the movie ,it shows us that we have just scratched the surface of awesome and breath-taking technologies to come. What are your thoughts ? We would like to hear from you.
