Hello guys ,its going to be raining facts here again, this time around the super brand- Aston Martin, is the topic of enlightenment . Lets go right in . 1. It was founded in 1913 by Robert Bamford and Lionel Martin as ‘Bamford & Martin Ltd’ . In 1914 the name ‘Aston Martin’ came up as a result of Lionel Martin’s successful runs at the Aston Hill Climb in Buckinghamshire, England . 2. The logo has not always being what we know it to be .Check out their first logo below : https://i63.tinypic.com/2vbas82.jpg 3. Their new logo however has also gone through several modifications. It was designed by S.C.H. Davis , who was also a race driver and an Egyptologist. The logo is not actually the wings of a bird as most people believe . Its actually inspired by the “scarab beetle “, which ancient Egyptians regarded as the manifestation of the sun god,Ra. Feed your eyes with the image below : https://i66.tinypic.com/2qdv2qb.jpg 4. https://i63.tinypic.com/2rogod2.jpg The first car they ever built was called “Coal Scuttle”.Sadly just one was built ,because of World War I . 5. There is a club for Aston Martin owners-The Aston Martin Owners Club (AMOC).Its about 70 years old and has over 20 divisions worldwide. Its also open to people who don’t own an Aston Martin, but are the brand’s enthusiasts. 6. We are all aware that James Bond movies and Aston Martin are like bread and butter. The first Aston Martin used in a Bond film was the “Silver Birch DB5” in the 1964 movie Goldfinger. The car was originally sold in 1970 for £5,000(approx ₦3,175,000 today) and was sold for £1,000,000(approx ₦635,000,000 today) in 2006 . 7. The Silver Birch DB5, made for the movie had lots of custom modifications ,like machine guns,a retractable number plate etc. 8. Aston Martins have appeared in nine Bond movies, with the DB5 appearing in five of those, including come-backs in the recent Daniel Craig movies, Casino Royale and Skyfall. Bond has also driven a DBS, V8 Vantage Volante, V12 Vanquish, and DBS V12. 9. The company has had a long list of owners and buyers .But in 1987 a major stake was acquired by Ford ,who later sold it in 2006 to a Middle Eastern consortium lead by British businessman David Richards. 10. In 2013 Aston Martin signed a deal with Daimler AG to supply the next generation Aston Martin cars with new Mercedes-AMG engines. Daimler AG now owns 5% of Aston Martin. Enjoyed this ? Driving ethics are standards of courtesy while operating a vehicle. An example of driving ethics is avoiding cursing at people if they make an error while driving. However, some Nigerians will even curse you for their own error. I’ve always got several pet peeves while driving but hope I am not alone in this. So I decided to come up with these 13 driving ethics some Nigerian drivers won’t practice even if you use a sledge hammer. High beam headlight This action blinds the drivers of oncoming vehicles, making it difficult for them to follow the road safely. We even use the high beam on untarred roads. Offending drivers still don’t budge even if you flash at them a hundred times. I learnt this almost the hard way on a dual carriageway.. Thank God I only got a warning. But a friend wasn’t that lucky as she got a $350 ticket (i.e N60,000 then… N180,000 now). After paying such amount, you will feel like plucking out those headlights. Tailgating vehicles that have siren When in traffic, drivers begin to warm up as soon as a convoy of cars starts to approach with siren. Every one struggles to join the convoy but the day you will jam army motor from behind!.. straight to barracks. I hope that law against wailing of siren comes back fully implemented. Over speeding You won’t believe we have speed limits in Nigeria. Only in the books sha, implementation is zero. The maximum speed limit in Nigeria is 100 kilometres per hour. With that kinda speed limit, I will just sleep off behind the wheels. Zebra crossing This Zebra crossing cracks me up with that trending joke.. “You be Zebra?”. But on a serious note, it seems several people don’t know the meaning of those lines. I remember a policeman blaming me because a Keke Napep didn’t slowdown while I was already on the line. These 4 scenarios usually occur at zebra crossings. -If you dare cross when a car is coming.. Sorry is your case. -Some good drivers who manage to slowdown for people to cross will testify that the cars behind them will honk the hell out of their horn or even overtake them.. Na wah o. -Some will even hit you from behind. -In several cases sef, the pedestrian you’ve stopped for don’t know their right. They will just be looking at you as if you are not okay for stopping in the middle of the road. Road sharing So much intimidation on our roads. BRT will bully cars, cars will bully Okada, Okadas will bully pedestrians. Who will the pedestrians bully? Let us learn to share the road with love. Are you among those drivers who use their side mirror to deliberately hit pedestrians that walk too close to the road? Just show some love. Keep to your lane Some greedy drivers cruise in the middle of the road preventing other cars from overtaking. The saddest thing is, they know how to enter their lane when they want to overtake a slower vehicle that is in front of them. Government should line all our roads as well because that could be a valid excuse. Excessive honking of horn We can press our horn for the entire world.. haba. From my research, Over 90% of the things we horn pon pon!! for are not relevant. All we need is just a little patience. Someone that is traveling on Benin – Warri express will be pressing horn for a car that wants to cross the express 150 metres away. How do you expect the driver to hear? What happened to your flash lights? People who live on major roads should have more to say about this. Also, some of us just place our hands on the horn like it’s a hand-rest. Just a tap will do. Changing lanes and turning without use of signals Trafficators are not meant to beautify our cars. Let’s use them. Stop surprising other road users with abrupt turns. Seat belts We have embraced this not for our safety, but for police not to chop our money. Some seat belts are not even working especially in those commercial vehicles. Don’t forget to use your seat even if you are in the rear seat. Traffic light The yellow light means get ready to stop and not go sharp! sharp!!.. If you see a rear ended (hit from behind) car at a traffic light, this is probably the cause. Double parking This is a major cause of traffic congestion. Some roads are obviously too narrow for cars to park on both sides. Some drivers will even park at intersections leaving little or no space for cars to makes turns. Slowly passing another vehicle/Not accelerating when passing another vehicle In several countries, it is a traffic offense to be cruising side by side with a car you are meant to overtake. The driver on the fast lane will most likely get a police ticket. Refusing to yield right-of-way to other vehicles Everyone likes to claim “nah me get road”. It is bad to the extent that most slow drivers will speed up when you are overtaking them. I am sure I have not said it all. Add yours. Let us bring some sanity to our roads. Relocating to Lagos? If you have just relocated or have intentions of relocating to Lagos,.. there are some survival attitudes you need to develop immediately. Most Lagosians are already familiar with these while some learnt the hard way. So let us begin.. Traffic Instinct: Whether driving through the highbrow areas of Victoria Island, Ikoyi and Lekki or walking the streets of Mushin and Oshodi, one cannot but notice the chaotic traffic situations. So, it’s either you evade the traffic by skillfully learning it’s pattern or you sit in it and enjoy your music. Obey Traffic Rules: In Lagos, we have desperate policemen and traffic officials who are praying for you to make mistakes. There is no sorry or abeg in their dictionary once they catch you. They even hide behind trees like the policemen in this photo hiding to catch anyone that makes a U-Turn in front of Adeniran Ogunsanya Shopping Mall (Shoprite) Surulere. But really, there is an obvious “No U-Turn” sign at that spot.. Drivers beware. Ask For Direction: Sorry is your case if you take a wrong turn in Lagos. So it’s either you ask a human being or ask google.. the google map actually works. I remember someone who wanted to drive into Oworo but took the wrong turn and found himself on 3rd Mainland Bridge.. He ended up spending 1 hour in traffic just to make a U-turn. You Must Be Smart Lagos is a fast paced society.. therefore, you have to be fast and smart. There are so many ways they can turn you into a MUGU in Lagos. Police can even catch you that changing lane on a dual carriageway is a crime. Also, some people still fall for that road side lottery where you will buy a N5,000 or N10,000 ticket to win a large plasma TV.. you will see people carrying their own plasma TV o.. but as for you, nah only N200 pirated CD you go win.. Lol. You Must Be Patient You have to be able to blend your fast paced smartness with patience.. or else, your head will explode in no time. Lots of frustration from traffic, okada riders, keke napep, policemen, VIO, danfo drivers and conductors as well as agbero that will obtain you in traffic. Just too much to contend with. Set Out Early One excuse you must never give to your employer for getting to work late is.. there was traffic. Just pray that traffic held your boss and colleagues as well. You Must Be Ready To Pay No matter how loyal you are, Lagos ain’t loyal. Let your car just make mistake and have a flat tyre at Oshodi.. you will know what’s up. Tell us what you experienced if this ever happened to you. More attitudes are welcomed in the comment section. https://autojosh.com/relocating-to-lagos/ Cc Lalasticlala Mynd44 Ishilove Marpol Semid4lyfe Obinoscopy

Many of us remember the 1952 Volkswagen Beetle while growing up as kids. It was a popular car amongst teachers, civil servants and the average middle class Nigerian citizenry. As of today, this car is mostly used in Nigeria to teach learners how to drive or something like that. Truth is in Nigeria, we don’t really appreciate vintage/classic cars as much. But they are treasured in some other countries. Would you believe this particular rusted 1952 Volkswagen Beetle was sold for €52,000 ($55,650) last week in Paris? Converting based on the current exchange rate, this beetle was put up for auction and sold for about 30Million Naira! No joke o.. Can you pay even half of such amount for this car? The car was discovered after years, if not decades, in storage. Based on reports, the Type 1 Beetle was parked up in Sweden 50 years ago. Is any Beetle owner reading this? You better epp yourself out of this recession by heading to the next Paris auction with your Ijapa. https://autojosh.com/1952-volkswagen-beetle-33million-naira/

Someone asked me how owners of Lamborghinis in Nigeria would fix their cars with this recall. I was like, well.. I know someone who shipped his Lamborghini Gallardo from Nigeria to USA for repairs and shipped it back after it was fix. The Italian automaker is recalling about 5,900 supercars including all the 12 Venenos. According to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Lamborghini admits, “In certain driving conditions while the vehicle has a full gas tank, gasoline may contact the exhaust system and this can increase the risk of a fire,” Lamborghini also confirmed 7 cases of such fire. https://autojosh.com/lamborghini-recalling-5000-supercars-due-risk-fire/ Cc Lalasticlala Mynd44 Ishilove Marpol Semid4lyfe Obinoscopy

BMW and Mercedes-Benz are bitter German rivals that compete for luxury sales supremacy and for the satisfaction of building the most impressive car. In the pursuit to one-up each other, the two automakers actually build models that are remarkably similar. Just take a look at the BMW X6 and the Mercedes GLE Coupe. It turns out that the similarities between these two automakers is not just a coincidence. The answer is, BMW and Mercedes cooperate to buy components for their vehicles. BMW and Daimler first started cooperating in 2008 for components that aren’t “crucial to the brands” such as tires and seat frames. The partnership has gradually grown to more crucial components. BMW purchasing head Markus Duesmann said “It’s not been fully exploited; there are regular talks and we are discussing jointly purchasing more components,” When talking about cooperating with Daimler to purchase components. Duesmann did not give any details of the plans, or how much each automaker could save by cooperating. We always like to think that BMW and Mercedes are completely different, but maybe there isn’t as much separating the two brands as we once thought. https://autojosh.com/see-why-bmw-and-mercedes-build-similar-cars/ Cc Lalasticlala Mynd44 Ishilove Marpol Semid4lyfe Obinoscopy

2018 will certainly be an interesting year as both the Audi e-tron SUV and i-Pace are excellent looking concepts. With a tremendous rise in SUV sales, automakers want to show the public that they won’t have to alter their tastes in order to save the environment. Audi plans to be a prominent leader with the e-tron SUV, making its debut “the first real premium manufacturer doing a premium electric SUV,” Audi will be borrowing the Porsche Mission E’s soon to be proven electric car underpinnings, which will supposedly feature superb handling and the malleability to be used on a number of vehicular applications. Also, the e-tron SUV will look similar to the concept displayed at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. Before production, Audi intends to wait until electric car charging infrastructures were up to par. Audi’s parent company Volkswagen has recently partnered with BMW, Ford, and Mercedes’ parent, the Daimler Group, to roll out a standardized fast charging network that will have much more of a foothold by 2018. Branding will also be unique to Audi, with the e-tron name being used as a suffix on its electric and plug-in hybrid models. There are a number of things that can cause your engine to overheat. The most important thing is to figure out which problem is causing it, and then you can solve it. In some cases, you can solve the problem on your own, without going to your mechanic. To prepare for issues like this always ensure you have water and coolant in your car especially when you are going for a long journey. What to do if your engine overheats If your engine is overheating, do the following to cool it down: Step 1 Turn off the air conditioner if you have it on. Running the A / C puts heavy loads on the engine. Step 2 Put your car in neutral or park and then rev the engine. This makes the fan and the water pump work faster, which pulls more air and more water through your car’s radiator. This increased circulation helps to cool down the engine. Step 3 As soon as you notice the temperature gauge creeping into the “H” territory (which stands for “hot”), pull over immediately and open the bonnet. This releases the heat and lets air circulate through the hot engine. Note: you need to be careful when opening the bonnet — hot steam may come blasting out, so you have to be extra careful when doing this. Step 4 Do not open your radiator pressure cap (the cap on top of the radiator) while the engine is hot. Doing so is very likely to release a high-pressure combination of steam and radiator fluid that can cause very serious burns. Step 5 Check the coolant reservoir tank and fill if needed. Most modern cars have a plastic reservoir of coolant connected to the top of the radiator. Step 6 Check for a leak in the cooling system. If your radiator or cylinder head seems to be compromised, or if you open the coolant reservoir and the levels are topped up, you may have a leak in the cooling system. If you’re experienced with cars, check the radiator, core plugs in the engine block, or cylinder head near the head gasket for any signs of leakage. Step 7 If you still haven’t been able to fix the problem, get a Mechanic to help you have a look at it. most radiator problems can be fixed quickly. Kindly share this Information with friends and family using the share buttons below. https://autojosh.com/how-to-fix-an-overheating-car/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 Ishilove Marpol Semid4lyfe Obinoscopy

Tesla motors have continually tested the limits of electric cars and self driving cars .But very few people know about this company .Lets get enlightened . 1. Elon Musk is not the founder of Tesla .The founders are Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning . 2. The Model X has a biohazard air filter , meaning you could probably survive in that car if there is a chemical gas attack around you . 3. It takes the Model S 2.5 seconds to 60 from 0-60mph . 4. You can drive 250 miles in a fully charged Model X , before needing a recharge . 5. In 2009 Tesla borrowed $465 Million from the U.S. government ,they made so much money that they paid back the loan long before the agreed time . 6. The Model X is the heaviest electric car , it weighs 2,276 Kg . 7. You can get 455 miles of driving from a fully charged Model S 90D,under the right conditions . This is like driving from Lagos to Bayelsa. 8. Tesla’s Giga factory in Nevada is the second largest building in the world !!!. 9. They currently have about 14,000 employees . 10. Elon Musk invested $70 Million in Tesla ,from his pocket ,I mean from his account ,wow !! . 11. Elon Musk is worth about $12.1 Billion . Have anything to add ?.I would be glad to hear from you. One question Nigerians always ask is.. What is the best and easiest business to invest in? I hear you chanting Uber! Uber!! already. Yea, It is absolutely easy to buy a car, inspect and sign it up with Uber. However, the most important factor is usually overlooked. The human factor – The driver.. These guys can make you go really crazy. They have lots of accidents, they under deliver, they pick passengers offline and pocket the money etc. These 8 tips will enable you handle these guys to a reasonable extent: 1. Car seat occupancy sensor: This sensor will notify the owner of the car whenever a passenger sits in it.. the front passenger’s seat as well as the rear seats. You can call up the passenger pick up log at the end of the day or week and the driver will think you are a magician. The drivers can’t say they picked only 10 passengers when your log is saying 25.. Abi nah your girlfriend you carry? Next time, she has to do standing inside Uber. 2. Odometer reading: This scope dates back to when we used to steal Daddy’s car. The driver can’t say he wasn’t feeling fine over the weekend and the mileage is saying he drove like from Lagos to Kafanchan that weekend. 3. Hire purchase: The importance of hire purchase cannot be overestimated. It gives the driver a sense of ownership and responsibility knowing that the car will become his/hers someday. Fueling, service and general maintenance cost will also be on the driver. 4. Use a professional fleet management company: One major challenge is, we get so emotionally attached to our business. Sometimes, you have to give up to move up. These companies don’t only have the expertise, they also have a pool of drivers who are frequently trained. Fueling, service and general maintenance cost will be borne by the company.. and you get your alert monthly.. About N140k. The good thing is the car still remains yours after the contract unlike the hire purchase. 5. Cameras: Imagine how cool it is when you can call your drivers as soon as they go out of line but it’s not that you will sit all day and be watching your Uber drivers like Zee World. If you have to do this, make sure you have obvious stickers notifying the passengers about the camera. 6. Car tracker: This will help you know where your car is per time and ensure the driver does not overspeed. The tracker will also enable you turn off the car remotely when necessary. 7. Drive your car yourself: Have you ever heard of Uber drivers who make N350k to N400k per month? Yes you can.. if you drive your car yourself. 8. Comprehensive insurance: If you do a combination of all I have stated above and you don’t have a comprehensive insurance, OYO is your case. Let’s hear some more from you in the comment section. Don’t forget to like and share. https://autojosh.com/uber-business/ Cc Lalasticlala Mynd44 Ishilove Marpol Semid4lyfe Obinoscopy

The way traffic accidents are increasing in Nigeria is getting alarming ,the funny thing is that most of it can be avoided .The question is what can we do about it ? . 1.Fix The Bad Roads This is more than obvious ,the bad roads have to be fixed .Huge pot holes are still visible on some major roads .To reduce accidents ,first the government has to get the roads fixed . 2.Traffic Lights Its so sad that some major areas in Lagos for example ,don’t still have traffic lights in round-abouts and junctions. When the traffic lights are there, some of them don’t even work.To prevent accidents traffic lights need to work and using them have to be enforced.A lot of folks skip traffic lights and are not penalized for it ,because there is no adequate monitoring system (cameras) . 3.Truck Restrictions Out of every 10 accidents about 6 are linked to trucks and tankers .Trucks and tankers should be restricted to move only at night .It would drastically reduce accidents on the road. 4.Use Of Trains Trains are more safer according to statistics, the possibility of a train getting involved an accident is very low.Trains should be used especially for flammable substances.I think they should also be used to transport livestock,I am tired of seeing cows loose their lives .I know there is inadequate railway channels to accommodate this plans ,so adequate railway system should be put in place as well. 5.Restriction Of Herdsmen This dudes just do any how and in some major roads , they come out from nowhere with their cows .There are cases where it has caused accidents. If there are restrictions on certain roads(especially major roads) it would help. 6.Imposing Maintenance I know this sounds crazy ,but what if maintenance on a regular basis is imposed ,it would drastically reduce the rate of accidents .To make it more effective ,there should be a steep fine for defaulters . 7.Speed Limiters I think speed limiters would also help a lot especially in Danfo buses . I know you have some things to add ,kindly comment and share too. https://autojosh.com/opinion-6-ways-accidents-can-reduced-nigeria/ Cc Lalasticlala Mynd44 Ishilove Marpol Semid4lyfe Obinoscopy

By 2027, we may just be driving around town like “The Jetsons“. Airbus is planning to roll out flying cars which is even more futuristic than the driverless cars that are buzzing at the moment. According to the aviation company, a prototype will be ready at the end of this year. This announcement was made by Tom Enders who is the CEO of Airbus. “One hundred years ago, urban transport went underground, now we have the technological wherewithal to go above ground,” Enders said. He said flying cars would help reduce traffic and wouldn’t command expensive supporting infrastructure because “with flying, you don’t need to pour billions into concrete and roads.” They already established a new “Urban Air Mobility” division based in Silicon Valley. It is called A³ (A-Cubed). Hybrids are awesome ,the opportunity of having not to waste much money on fuel is a great advantage .But in the engineering world we have a saying “No machine is hundred percent efficient “.And I also have a belief , no matter how awesome a machine is ,there would be some down sides .So what are the disadvantages of hybrids ?,lets find out . 1.INITIAL COST PRICE Well, this is not a subject of debate , hybrids cost more .Some prices can make you drain your account .So if you are thinking of getting a hybrid , consider the cost. 2. RUNNING COST From maintenance to replacements, the running cost of hybrid cars is neck breaking. The last I heard the batteries go for nothing less than 300,000 Naira . 3.POSSIBLE ELECTROCUTION Because the batteries have high voltages ,there could be electrocution most likely when an accident occurs. 4.FLOOD LIMITATIONS Because of a high concentration of electrical gadgetry , it’s very dangerous driving in a flood .Especially because of the battery .Infact the flood can render the vehicle useless,as I stated earlier ,it has more electrical and electronic components than regular cars ,the water from the flood could cause a short or bridge in the electrical circuits causing a total or partial damage. 5.LESS ENGINE POWER Because of the small gas engine with and electric side to compensate for it .Most ,though not all hybrid cars , have less engine power compared to regular cars .So if you are looking for speed and acceleration and massive Horse Powers , hybrids are not for you. Have a point or two to add ?,or do you disagree with any of my points ?.Keep the comments rolling in. What’s with these LASTMA officials who like to take the shine off traffic lights. This has become a trend.. traffic light is saying one thing and the LASTMA official is saying another. You remember those days in secondary school when one senior will tell you to come and the other will tell you to go.. .. The result is confusion. I guess these guys don’t know the implication of what they are doing. This is a recipe for accident because a driver may be focused on the green light.. and hardly notice one guy in yellow and maroon uniform has asked the car in front of him to stop.. One LASTMA official was even abusing a driver who stopped for the red light while the coast was clear.. the official was in one corner asking the driver to proceed.. but the latter didn’t notice on time because he was looking at the traffic light. I am sure this has happened to some of us. The question is, would this driver be caught if he refuses to stop at that red light tomorrow.. especially when the road is free? I bet he would. Let’s end this double standards.. Watch the video below and tell us which you would obey.. https://autojosh.com/lastma-official-vs-traffic-light/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qAWI-TcunWU Cc Lalasticlala Mynd44 Ishilove Marpol Semid4lyfe Obinoscopy
