Car Talk › Re: FX35 Electrician Needed. by autologic: 8:55am On Aug 11, 2020 |
starnuel: Hello House, I have an issue with my Infiniti fx35 2005. It is a tokunbo I bought in February thus year before the lockdown. Before the lockdown, it was working perfectly. When the lockdown started, I parked it but unfortunately the heavy rain at the period came in through the roof.
I air dried the car and started covering the car. After the lockdown, I wanted to ho out and realised that the wiper, the ac, the side mirrors stopped working at the same time.
There is nothing I have not done to get them working. Gone to different self proclaimed professionals, nothing. I went to First Gate Auto village, nothing. I went to ladipo and changed BCM and Fuse box different times, yet nothing. I have scanned and scanned. I have programmed and programmed. Nothing.
I am told it should be wiring fault. And i am very careful which rewired to give it to. So, that he will not destroy the car.

fiisky: please I have a problem with my opel astra h 2004, the car starts and idle fine, but it doesn't revv, no matter how hard i press down d throttle. rewire said it could be be throttle body (mouth) or the brainbox. After some checks, he said it is the brainbox, the car uses an electric throttle (throttleless). car shows no check engine light, it has been scanned and nothings shows up... The rewire advised the following. 1. brainbox change 2. complete engine change with brainbox and manual throttle 3. comvert electric throttle to manual and change brainbox.
I don't know what to do right now, car doesn't rev at all, so it can't move, help! Change your mechanic , very simple . |

Go ahead to remove the thermostat and also connect the fan direct as well . You don't have anything to lose except losing your engine to wear sooner than expected |

adisaaowala: My 2008 Honda accord wouldnt rev past 3000rpm. Scanned the ride and got the P0339 code (crankshaft sensor intermittent fault).
The car also experiences hard starting.
I have replaced the sensor with 3 different ones, yet the problem persists.
My rewire is talking about a faulty ECU.
Kindly help out guys.
@Gazzuzz, Autologic This is surely above what a typical naija technician can handle , further Diagnosis is needed cos the waveform of the crankshaft need to be seen and analysed with special tool to make out where the issue is coming from but it is not an ecu issue for real . |

Mike072: Yea I have. The codes are pointing to oxygen sensor and vehicle speed sensor. I scanned the sbc and the only fault recorded was driver side wheel speed sensor which was replaced. May be I will rescan and revert. Thanks. That is a code is pointing to WSS doesn't mean always means the sensor is faulty , the computer fault management always speak a generic language that implies checking the area which involves performing further test with special equipment around the area mentioned and not always literally the stuff mentioned directly . You will need to a good tech that is good with troubleshooting to check and analysis the wheel speed sensor signal to make sense out of the issue. |

ModelX: I know someone who has been running fan direct on his Corolla for over 6 years and fan is still working. He said the AC is also much colder than when it was on thermostat. I'm not saying removing the thermostat is good, but under Nigerian circumstances, and the likelihood of overheating, then in the long run it is the more affordable option. Point of correction ,no relationship btw Fan control and Thermostat ,there are different entity entirely ,what turn on fans are electrical actuators and modules . Working as automotive servicing sector for over a decade , I have learnt that u can be easily led astray make vital analysis and decision based solely on the customer "stories" as vehicle repair history ,cos u will discover holes in the stories later on ,even on this forum we have seen people crying wolves when there is non and even vice versa after the issue has been seen physically. I try as mush as possible to align my analysis & thought process based on scientific fact and figure and not sentimental stories, however everyone is free to believe in what he "believes" work for him but not to be spreading old wives tales . Thanks |

double3: We shouldn't always blow things out of proportions. If ur theory of running fan directly affects the life span of the radiator fan motor, then one can also say using AC would affect the lifespan of the fan motor as well cos the fan kicks on whenever AC is in use....what do u think Nice observation ,however what makes the big difference btw the two different circumstances Is the word controlWith ac on ,Fan Is still under controlled either from a one computer somewhere or a thermoswitch and is running with controlled speed from zero to 100 and even trigger off completely as dictated by it controlling master inlike when same fan is ran direct when ran direct with no control and running perpetually at 100% capacity till it work itself to death . |

Babaigwebishop: Hi Nairalanders, I need your guidance on my sienna 2000 CE. The radiator fan starts and remains on from the time I start the engine until I put it off (that was how I bought the car ). Is this ok given that I use it to travel without any issues (not commercial) and if I need to correct it, i.e the fan, should the thermostat be replaced (if it is still there. don't know if that is possible ). And my coolant keep going down with refills every other day and no visible sign of leaks anywhere. Please guru's in the house, your input will be highly appreciated. Don't use your car in this condition if you don't want to add more to the issue it already has o cos a fan that is ran direct has more risk of failure anytime cos constantly running will reduce it life span, cause engine bore wash and also cause issue for the alternator as well . Coolant going down if neglected too can cause headgasket leak later on . |

Lush100: No it's not rolling. My radiator water gone down I topped it with water to see if it would drain probably there was a leak but suprisingly I wasn't up to a half a pint it filled up. It had be never been this low(I could see the base of the radiator handle where the water is poured into. It made a blitz sound this morning (not a click sound but like when 2 wires are touching) when I tried to start. I will buy a car scanner and post the codes. I am sourcing for a car I will use temporarily. Thankfully I am not going to work on Monday. I doubt if scanning will pull any code ,look a good electrician to troubleshoot the issue for you and i don't see any relationship between coolant going down and issue of non starting for that model of Corolla.Fix your non starting issue first and address low coolant next . |

If you are scarced that using a professional tech(definitely not a kazeem o) to inspect your car will open a door for the tech to rip you off then try a carpenter then. Cos I can't think of any suitable way for you to get the best value for your need than to employ the service of specialist in that field . Then dont try to underpay him or try to play smart one on him , pay his professional fee that will definitely justify his time and effort and watch as become your loyal slave for life and even exceed your expectation The same thing goes for other institution that we complain of massive corruption and rip off. ,the systems are ripping them off(poor remuration, poor condition of work ,no training etc) and to survive too they too will take their own pound of flesh on innocent citizen . The basic principle of value is this " To get the best value from people , you must be ready to give value back in return " So you can be assured that there are good mechanic that won't rip you off but they need to trust you too that u won't underpay them . |
