I believe they use similar parts. Just the body panel design and interior might be different but electricals and engine seem to be same. Make oga Nurey come clarify sha.

Please advice.

1. Get a very competent auto technician who is an expert in VW/Audi.
2. Read up online, familiarise yourself with common faults with thia particular model. Just to know more about the car. Particularly the engine.
3. Stick to recommended oil grade.
4. STay away from kazeem. Dont throw parts when the car has a fault. Find a professional not a magician.
5. Join online forums a d seek information on your particular car. Ask questions too even if its stoopid
6. Before any repairs ensure U carr out through scan of the faulty system. Avoid kazeem. Dont throw parts.


I heard that engine can be very expensive. So be careful to take great care of her. A friend uses a 2009 audi A4, similar engine 2.0 TSi. Serves him superbly. He prefers it for journeys compared to his honda. So have no fear bro. Thats a great sweet ride U got there.

When I pushed my gear selector (R, D) on my EOD, the car will kind of vibrate.

And when car is moving, as it increases in transmission, you will feel the little jerking on it.

1. when last you changed the gear oil?
2. have checked the gear oil level?
3. when checking also confirm the color of the oil.

I have used the very same car since 2012 and I dont think my problems would even be half the number of yours. One thing someone rightly mentioned here is the possible abuse of your car by Kazeems. If there's one thing I know in my years of using my Focus, they do NOT take abuse well at all!

Oh and yes, those Kazeems can misdiagnose the hell out of a car! Five fuel pumps?! How?! Were you pumping the fuel out of an oil well?!

as in bro 5 pumps o... and they didnt consider running a deep scan tho spot the possible problems. My thot is there r various faulty components contributing to that cars wahala. They should take it one step at a time. Diagnosing based on symptoms and other gathered data rather than guess work and throwing parts at the car.

sir there is a difference btw the job and the product. My point is this, if you employ Gazzuzz to inspect a car before U purchase, U av a higher chance of buying a good car rather than a lemon. Why? He knows this cars, he has the experience, the knowledge and skill. Baba wont even touch a kazeemised car. But then does that mean the "better car "wont ever ever develop a fault? Thats not possible na. Bt to a large extent he will be a able to guarantee certain things just like daddy Obeke stated. But an outright guarantee say the motor no go ever spoil? Thats impossible. That was my humble point sir...

as for me, I am. trying my possible best to learn all I can about rides and I do this in the little spare time I have....
and for me to buy a car, brother at least I'd have covered like 50percent of everything regarding the ride....

you can imagine that I bought an 06 Camry just after selling off my 03 Camry....
I could have bought something else within that price range... but I was just hesitant... much to the distaste of my friends and colleagues.....

A certain young man walks into a car lot with his trusty mechanic (Kazeem) tho.... the mechanic certified the ride OK and in top notch condition

some days later, vehicle was used to convey family to a different state
...

vehicle parked up less than halfway through....
buyer went back to seller to complain..... IMHO the mechanic should be the first point of contact....
he should have checked history ET all.....

now the scenario still played out well to the favour or this promising young man, with a minute loss in the hundreds of thousands..... after returning the ride.

but if that ride was bought from cars45 I don't think he'd have been able to return the ride!

now. my point is not whether the mechanic was sound or not... my point is who should have been held accountable?

and yes I still understand your point butressed above.... but this is the point I am trying to make!

oh! Now i get it your point perfectly. Yes for sure, the mecha ic shld be d first point of call and based on whateva the fault might be you can agree if to proceed to the seller or not. As a professional my word and my reputation is everything. Wc means I should be able to confidently "suggest" that the customer to buy the car based on certain variables. That means for me to give the go ahead, the car must pass if not all atleast 95% of tests i carry out. Like you said it a grey area truly, but then just to give yiu a better chance at buying a good car and not a lemon.

So in the light of all this, what steps would you take to avoid buying a lemon? So atleast we can all learn together

whichever way we go, there is a huge trade-off...

* if mechanic gives warranty it won't be reasonable....
* if mechanic doesn't and something goes wrong the next day... it won't be fair
*if buyer doesn't go with mechanic and he buys scrap..... he'd be dumb and stewpid
*if buyer goes with mechanic (no guarantee) and gets a very good buy then all is well.


in all these scenarios only one thing brings about the desired outcome.... some call it luck, some call it AYO babalola, some call it fortune

It's an extremely grey area (buying naija used) jare, that's why I'd prefer to deal with someone that has a rep to protect.... that way, he'd be guided accordingly and will do everything possible (within his means) to make sure I don't buy scrap... and I should be entitled to specifics (show workings) in case of any incasity!

bro i truly get your point. You feel it doesnt make sense for you. You know about cars. But for other ppl who dont know what to look out for, they need a professional eye.
On the guarantee thing even even big car dealerships in the abroad dont ever give guarantees. It is the manufacturerthat does that. I wonder why U expect me as a mechanic to give you guarantee...hehehehe

I learnt the hard way that men do not always keep their word.....
I have spent money on things with just assurance that the deal is sealed.... from top guys in that specific Industry....

when the going goes south, you start hearing stuff like, these things happen from time to time.... it escaped me and all that....

all the long preaching just to create a lame excuse for failing....
anyways I usually love doing biz (also buying cars) with people with a lot to protect... esp online....
I know that if the money get as e take go, I can always try to create a scene online.....

it's a grey area without any straight forward direction if mechanic cannot be held accountable for certain mishaps.....

if I buy a car today, and I paid for inspection only for me to discover tomorrow that the whole underneath is rusted, na mechanic I go still hold accountable oh.

imagine few months ago a friend got a 2008 sienna. D day he came to show me, mehn d ride was clean toks baba... body clean, engine clean. Everything set. Baba na so i connect my small scanner, come see plenty transmission solen I d faults. I asked him shey check engine no show? Baba say at all. Na so he park. Swithced off engine, turned on ignition alas they have blocked the CEL. Didnt take magic for me to spot that. Transmission had been changed from 13 pin to 10 pin.
Whats the moral? Physical insoection this car passes 100/100 for a toks. But just a simple scan and the evil is revealed. Pata Pata if prospective buyer doesnt want to pay, then atleast get a capable scanner and scan d car b4 you buy.

Boss, i am pretty sure you know quite well even oyinbo get kazeems and yes dey kazeemise cars over there. I don see tire. Now why did I say a mechanic cant give guarantee?
Lets talk abt timing chain or belt. If i inspect how do U expect me to know when the belt was changed or if it was at all? Imagine say belt cut for interference engine and valve bend would you hold me responsible for that? My point is this, parts fail. They are not made to last forever. Now for the inspection part, like I said the professional insoection gives you a better chance of Spotting issues after thorough inspection.
though mechanics differ bt for me if i was gonna inspect any car, baba na to enter internet and get enuf details of common faults and stuffs. That way I am armed and i know what to possibly look out for during inspection. Professional mechanic nob babalawo, he cant see through into the engine but with thorough physical inspection and deep scan... he can easliy pick up pending issues.

First thing sir change your mechanic.

Some cars are just lemon from birth and worse when bought Nigerian used. You change head today, the neck develops fault tomorrow. Fix the neck tomorrow, the chest breaks apart. Na so you go fix am till you replace the toes then the cycle begins all over again from the head.
My 1st 2 cars were all Nigerian used and I still have my 1st car serving me well as my daily car till now despite the abuse and kazeemised state it was when I bought it.
Some cars can't be unkazeemised when kazeemised by a kazeem.

thats the fact. and the internet serves us hot dishes of common faults for free. thats the first thing I do when it comes to cars. i go online amd serche different sites most especially user reviews. that way it gives you a heads up ahead of time. whether to run or to buy.
