I'll leave Ghanaians with this quote by Richard Hooker: "Change is not made without inconvenience, even from worse to better." The choice is yours. |
No. It shouldn't. Some organisation offer you experience, which will be absolutely invaluable as you mature in your career. Thus more money and satisfaction when you decide to move on. Also, at some stage in your career your needs will not be money but job satisfaction, work-life balance, flexible working hours, the organisation's willingness to enable you express your talent and take decisions based on your experiences...and many more other than money. In fact if you may very likely rebuff better offers from other organisations if their goals, values and vision do not align with yours. |

Is this a new trend in Christianity? More like business boomed this year..let's reward loyal customers. |
Gone with the wind! |
Abeg add Jollof Rice to make the list complete. |
allexy2:Sorry bro. I beg to disagree. It wasn't the west that said we should mismanage our revenue when there was oil boom. We know we generate 90% of our revenue from crude oil. If we had made hays while the sun shines...we will have enough reserve to at least withstand the shock of slump in oil prices. Well, our ratings will naturally drop as long as we our only source of revenue is depleted due to falling oil prices. What do you expectin situations where the government (federal and state) don't even have enough to pay workers salaries not to talk about finance our budget. |
bookface:Spot on. For those asking 'How does it affect the layman?' It means if the government has to raise money from the bond market to provide infrastructure - roads, upgrade electricity etc, Nigeria will have to pay more in terms of interest on the bond, because the risks of defaulting seems higher from the market point of view. A lot of institutional investors will rather invest in the highest quality bonds where they are sure of no risk of defaults. Though this may be temporary as crude oil prices increases and more revenue generated by the country, Nigeria may have better and positive views from the market. As it is, it costs more to borrow money long term to provide infrastructures compared to other stable and advanced economies. Reason why building infrastructure may be expensive as you and I feel the pinch in terms of road tolls, high electricity tariffs etc. |
O n gbonaaaaaa ooooo!!! ( Yoruba for - it's burning down there) ![]() |
Excuses!!! The government should be proactive. If we can fine MTN several billions, why cant they find lasting solution to these nomads causing trouble to host communities. |
What does it matter? A zebra has both white and dark stripes. Stop confusing yourselves. |
What about Baba Fryo of the 'Dem go dey Pose' fame? Dude was a 'hit' all over the country 'back' then. |
"Who killed Dele Giwa? Na Baba... If you put 'gida'.. You are OYO..." Abami Eda. |
We should question why most packs of boxers come in threes? The reason why naija girls buy a pack of 3 boxers as your birthday gift... Because you are to wear one on Monday, turn it inside out on Tuesday. Wear another one on Wednesday, turn it inside out on Thursday. And wear the third on Friday, then turn it inside out on Saturday. On Sunday you are required to go tubeless. On a serious note, remove your boxers at the end of each day and put in your laundry basket. You don't have to wear anything to bed. It is healthier to allow that region get fresh air and free movement from evening till the next morning. |
If only there can be enabling environment for our local artisans, I see no reasons why the likes of Zara, Topshop, Only, Debenhams or Primarks etc will be operating from Asia and South America. Our products are more durable with better quality and creative designs. The only drawbacks are high cost of production (electricity) and lack of modern equipment. Take this away, I see no reason we should be eating "ponmo" and exporting hides & skin in exchange for Italian shoes. With adequate support in place even high end fashion outfits (the Guccis and Hilfigers of this world) will make Aba their base. |
I dont want to sound insensitive, but when you warn people to stop eating wild animals anyhow, 'them no go hear.' See people celebrating the snakes they killed and used for peppersoup on front pages like Ebola is not real. |
When will the following be launched? Android TomTom, Android Buttermint Android Nico, Android Ekanna Gowon & Android Baba Blue. Nigerians and the Chinese are waiting. |
People should be absolutely careful with respect to what they consume. You may not be the only one to jeopardize your health, but also your family, neighbours, and your community. Remember, those who ate 'ebola carrying bats' have been eating bats long before now. Instead of celebrating this mediocre habit of 'see this big snake/rodent/alligator killed in our sewer for pepper soup... It should actually be discouraged, we will be doing a great service to our immediate communities directly or indirectly. Remember EBOLA is real. And those who didn't eat from your "pepper soup" are also put at RISK! |
Chosen1984:Fixed! Is is not Nigeria? |
I don't know the kind of relationship you have with your neighbours and while I may not support the nanny taking your kids to neighbours' house to watch TV...i think you should encourage her to take them out once in a while to go play. Staying home all day, Monday thru Friday house could be boring for the kids, and they need interactions for their all round development. I'm only giving this advice based on the fact that you know your nanny inside out n not d type that runs away with kids oo |
She lived a Virgin, She died a Virgin, What she refused to give to Man, She gave to worms!!! |

I don't understand the Chelsea philosophy about players like Victor Moses. You believe he is not so exceptional to be in the squad week in week out, yet you won't sell him outright. But I feel the believe is that he is grand enough to play regularly for teams around the mid table, so he can hurt Chelsea's competitors at the top table, while at the same time not playing against Chelsea. In as much as the player himself is happy with this arrangement...it's all good. A Win/Win for both parties. |
When the "ara-oruns" ( spirits from heaven) are high on "poli" they seek to attack the holy spirits. Police should leave them jhor..all Na spiritual attacks (sorry em..spiritual warfare). Can't stop laughing ![]() |

Nollywood at it again: Woman: (in May-D's voice) You must pay my money! Man: (In P-Square voice) You do me, I do you, You like am, I like am. Background music: (In APC voice) No chanjii, no chanjii... |
She might be right, though I don't understand the context in which she referred to them...as people then peddled bad talks about Fela's girls... Fela himself made reference to it in one of his songs... "Noise for vendor mouth." Been a long while I heard that song, but part of the lyrics goes thus: "Dem dey call us hemp-smokers We no talk, we no answer Dem dey call us prostitutes We no talk, we no answer We dey work oo We no talk, we no answer We dey work very hard oo We no talk, we no answer Now we go talk ooo, Now we go answer The big big people dey shout Who ah be, who are u...." Blah blah blah He then ended the song by replying his critics and "badmouth-ers" with "Ariwo ariwo o, ariwo lenu vendor re oo I say, noise for vendor mouth Igbe lenu vendor re oo Ariwo lenu vendor re" Those who know this song can relate to it much better. |
I expect the management of this site (Seun et al) to dissociate itself from this false story, remove the thread or create a link to the thread dissociating itself entirely and apologising to the family of the deceased for the trauma and agony such sad rumour/lies would have caused in their moment of trials. Note: These false stories spread like wildfire than corrected versions. This site is far bigger than it was 10 years ago, and its gone beyond just news, entertainment or politics, it is a way of life for some.. More than ever before, more controls and integrity checks are needed on posts making front page. |
adeh39:But most of all the food mentioned can be gotten fairly easily. Palmy is part of food, essential part of balanced diet...if in doubt, ask Baba Mukaila, what he steps down with after eating pounded yam, egusi with ogunfe. |
You can get most of these food abroad. For me the only thing I crave for and can go miles to get is Oguro - yes! ogidi emu (undiluted palmwine) fresh from the trees. ![]() |
