interesting, back in the days b4 i left naija for 1st times, i had terrible road rage and being a army cadet then i usually hang my camour in car, i break traffic rules anyhow, and those okada i dey flog them anyhow with koboko, there was time i was coming out of unilag gate and this bus driver just park dey load passenger out of anger and annonyance i drove my car right into the side of the danfo, damaging the entire side and damaging the door as well, and i just drove off wthout minding my own car. BUT now i have to obey traffic rules but anyokada wey drive rough for my side or keke maruwa na jamming or beating i go give them, and if my driver carry my car do runs, i go detain am, first make he suffer b4 sacking him. reason is if i go beat am the guy fit popo me or break bottle for my head so na to detain for barracks. |

rokiatu:very funny what is funny is your response. i said the toothpick becos that actually what i do, i dont and neither do i intend it to be funny in any way shape or form. |
i dont have my gf ATM details as am not interested in it. and email password, she gave it to me once when i asked but on second thoughts i asked her to change it as i dont have to start having issues when i start seeing emails i dont like, so what i dont know wont worry me. on the other hand she used to have my email password but changed it when it got hacked by these spam people my blackberry is passworded and i cant give her my password. its like my diary but she currently has my ATM card and pin but no kobo inside so am not worried. |
rokiatu:says who. the poster asked a question how do i like it to be and hairy is what i like. am not asking you to laugh or find it funny. ![]() |
@jojomywife ou are Welome to MY HOUSE an interesting thread where we all gather to share our experiences as homeowners and tenants and day to day experiences withing our homes. well am sure there are few agents in the property agents that can help you out but in reality most people always ask for 2yrs very rare to find 1yr. but anyway wish you all the best in ur search. regards. Happy easter from all @ Welcome to my house section. |
@kpoli also my gf doesnt have another bf apart from me and even if she does that i dont know about. when i do know it will be her loss but i am not one of them insecure guys dat worries about his girl hanging out wth people or wanting to know where she is at all tmes. and as i said . usual ups and downs. |
kpolli:i believe when you are writing an exam they always tell you to pay attention to detail !!!, some of us just behave like educated illiterates, just run mouth without thinking. not my gf. my gf friends borther. was the guy in question. i dont know him but i know his sister through my gf who pleaded wth me to let her friends brother stay in my house. English son English, always read well and understand before commentiing. thats my advice to you. happy easter. |

Its totally unfair to both rich and poor and to all in general. why must the residents or people who ply the route pay for the developments of the road or the area ? if thats the case then people in lekki or those who will ply the route should be excluded from paying tax afterall the reason tax is paid is for the development of the country which includes good roads amongst all other things. and even if they will introduce toll gate it should be a highways and expressways and not residential area like that. they place is already congested with heavy traffic. creating a tollgate will only make things worse in the place. whoever advised the goernment on that idea must just be a someone with empty brain without knowledge or just daft. |
@ijoseda good gbagda varies there is phase1 and phase2, 1 is the charlie boy area and renting is withing the range of nothing less than 400 if u r luck usualy its from 500, 600k upwards. good area easy access to mainland, island, ikorodu road, anthony, oshodi, airport. phase2 is the deeper life area, thats where we have ifako, soluyi, medina estate . renting is also from 4ook if luck usually 500,600k upward for a 3bedroom. am sure if you look at some agents posts about renting in that area u will see am right. as i said, good area, good location, easy access to bariga market, nice area, grew up around soluyi, and was still there recently. traffic there can get messy at times, security well. cant say much about that. as i lived there last when i was growing up. houses there are relatively old building but if you want newly built houses that you possible want to just pay and pack in then soluyi will ge good, but its expensive and i mean EXPENSIVE. it all depends on your budget and pocket. also bear in mind some landlords always incrse their rent some everyyear or every 2yrs. so will it be a good rentage in long run. so in choosing you have to consider these factors. easy access for you to your work and back, also for your wife, ho easy for you to leave home, go to offic, pick her up way back an get home together. or going and coming independently. even if you can afford to pay much now before moving to your own house will you be able to confidently keep affording the rentage these were what i considered before i decided to settle for my place in ogba |
@ice yea u correct. @ijoseda you don hammer well ooo those areas wey u dey mention. magodo is mega expensive ihave friends who stay ins 3bedroom apartment there and its like 600k or 1.5m per annum i think. and yes that area is magodo shangisha and its just quiet and posh area but nonsensical place. i stayed in an holiday apartment there once and it was a nightmare. to survive there, you must have a car and also you must make sure you buy your foodstuffs and things from outside before coming home as its not a kind of place u can quickly rush to main road and buy pepper or yam. also at night road linking there might be quiet dangerous as its always deserted. although once you enter main gat almost all the street get gate and security men basically to live there you must have deep pockets and nothing less than 500 to 600k per annum as new tennant its 2yrs 1.2m agency 10% agrmnt 10% and they migh ask you to pay caution fee which sometimes is 5% or few thousand. @oworo. its a good area easy access to thirdmainland, newgarage, bariga, yaba, gbagada, deeperlife area, ikeja, anthony, oshodi. new houses are springing up there, but its kind of still classed as upcoming area. flodding might be an issue there it was in the past but cant say about now. rentage is quite ok dere ranges form 200 upwards for 3bedroom. finally always be on the agents neck and also make sure you hassle them majority of them take the piss and also dont part with your money ooo. some of them dont have properties so they work in a network organisations where if 1 has a customer he communicates wth other agents who might have. i was able to get mine through a guy called way&life on nairaland here. he wasnt even the owner of property but he was able to get someone who had 1 available and that was it, spacious loung, average room, 2toilet 1bathroom although small kitchen but manageable.and its in goba just after haruna junction. |
@german007 i hope you got my response in respect to your mail yesterday. |
interesting post. alot of people seems to be missing out on the point here. majority of nigerians wnats to get all the degrees and qualification first and get a top paying job with that but it doesnt work like that in the real world. a company regardless of your qualification without a work experience to back it up, will be reluctant to emply you simple as that. most people will be suprised that all we learnt in univeristy and school even thou there are useful are totally different in the real life work environment. my advice is after degree, get a good work experience then go for msc den work experience again and if you want then phd and then you are at the top. instead of degree, msc, phd, professional qualifications all at once before work experience. |
@kafanchan in as much as it is sad to lay off staff, your posr or should i say analysis is totally wrong. because a bank gives a waiver of 32b doesnt makes the bank strong in anyway shape or form. i work in the financial sector in the uk with good knowledge of how things work here and an idea in naija also. this is not about sanusi or anything. its not sanusi giving the order for retrenchment or sacking so why drag him into this. its has always be a norm in naija and all over the world when the unfortunate happens, the innocent and masses will suffer. |
Corps members in Lagos get 400% pay rise By Mudiaga Affe, Published: Friday, 2 Apr 2010 The Lagos State Government has approved an increase of over 400 per cent in allowance to corps members posted to public schools and other government agencies in the state. The Chairman, Lagos State National Youth Service Corps Governing Board and Commissioner for Special Duties, Dr. Tola Kasali, disclosed that the state governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, had approved N15, 000 as allowance for corps members serving in public schools, while those posted to other government agencies would get N10, 000. Before now, corps members serving in public schools in the state were being paid a paltry sum of N3, 500 while those in other government agencies were paid less. Speaking at the closing ceremony of the orientation course for the 2010 Batch ‘A’ corps members deployed to the state on Tuesday, Kasali said the approved allowance would be paid to the corps members with immediate effect. Kasali, whose speech was read by the Director of Finance and Administration, Ministry of Special Duties, Mr. Nurudeen Salami, stated that the gesture was meant to motivate corps members that would be teaching in public schools, to make them comfortable so that they would concentrate on the students in the next one year and see them as their younger brothers and sisters. He advised the corps members to make good use of the training opportunity on how to enlighten and educate school children on the danger of engaging in indiscriminate sex and the need for total abstinence from sex as the best way to reduce the spread of HIV/AIDS in the country. |
