in my own opinion which i believe most people will agree with, electricity is the main thing in nigeria because without power nothing can function, people wont have to pay through their nose to buy petrol or diesels for generators, life wont be lost because of explosion when fuelling generators, people wont be dieing of cabon monoxide poisoning, those petroleum guys wont have the opportunity to reap people off anymore, armed robbers wont be able to operate effectively because everywere will be well lit including expressways, houses, people wont be dieing in hospitals because of lack of electricity anymore. electricity is important because even in the bible, in genesis, the first thing jesus said when he was creating the world said LET THERE BE LIGHT AND THERE WAS LIGHT. |
i am nigerian living in uk for 6years, but notwithstanding, despite the availability of amenities and infastructures in uk, i still love naija despite anything else, i love naija so much i have been there 3 times this year and cant wait to go back again and looking forward to go back finally. there is no place like home, for the last year my routine has been the same here in uk, wake up in the morning, go to school and after go to work and come back home same thing monday to saturday. i dont want to live my life like that, i want to be free to go out, hange out with friends, collegues on the island or cinemans after work, enjoy the weather naija has to offer, dont have to keep buying shoes all the time and having flu as well as having to put up with so many rubbish and bullshit with plenty things. i was born and grew up in naija , spent a few god years of my life in lagos and coming to the uk doesnt mean i will despise naija, i have gained my qualifications and skills from the uk which i paid for, so i will take it back to go and develop my beloved country and hopefully together naija can change for the better. forget mosquito, forget nepa, forget bad roads, there were there when we were born so we cant say because we have travelled abroad we will not want to go back home. |
thanks. like how much does it cost because all i have is 100k will it do for it ? thanks |
@kech. yes oo the girl holds the final decison in this case, yes its not the guys fault his parents broke up but the guy knowing the kind of background he is from thats why he has even been to naija 3times this year already. last time he went in july was when the whole issue started he had to just abandon his studies and work for 2weeks just to go and support the girl in naija. the guy cant get close to the girls family members reason being the girls father is the only one that is well to do in his family, and all of the family are against it, ecept for one of their family friend that assisted the girl in telling the parents about the guy, they support the guy and the girl but all they can do is just tell the parents but the girls father is adamant and keep refusing. after many pleading from the girl to her mother in july the mother invited the guy over to her shop just to speak to him without the father knowing and even advised the guy to bring 1 or 2 of his people to come and beg the dad but the father found out 2days before the proposed meeting and almost send the mother packing out of the house but he later calmed down. and they told the girl to call the guy in their presence and break the relationship. she did just to make the parents calm down but they are still dating. but yesterday night again after making my post yesterday night. the girl called the guy again to tell him that her parents found out that they ae still dating and still threatening. my guy is really down cos right now he cant do much as per he is trying too get an apartment in naija and furnished against his going home next year and also get it furnished a bit, compounded with that he doesnt have any more holidays left at work and cant go to naija now to support the girl. he is really down seriously. |
@kech thanks yes they are a few thread each individual cases but i like to pay attention on this particular as responses it important thanks. and its might determine the next line of action. note. the guy in question actually studying uk but has been to naija 3times already this year just to spend time with the woman and there is 100% honesty and trust between them. the guys parents are both yoruba and yes it takes grace of God but the girl is under pressure from parents because they are using themselves as a weapon and the parents are threathening to disown her and send her out of the house if she doesnt quit the relationship. |
Igbo/yoruba brothers and sisters a friend of mine is dating an igbo woman and her parents are against the union simply because the guy is yoruba and also from a broken home, so pls advice needed on how they should proceed as they both love each other very much. pls Nlanders no sarcastic comments as serious and genuine comments only. do you know anyone that has been in the same situation and eventually got married ? the girl is from Anambra dn the guy from ondo state. |

show of comedy indeed. and whoever made that comment or suggestions must either be daft, dumb or stupid all all of the afore mentioned. was it not this same niger delta that jtf invaded earlier on this year that lives and properties were lost ? i doubt if all these so called senators sef passed through an insitution of learning or actually reason before opening their mouth and talk nonsense. recently they passed bill in sending kidnappers to jail for think 50yrs or something like that not sure. they are busy passing useless laws when majority of people are lacking power, good roads, good educational facilities, hospitals. etc Naija real show or comedians and empty headed, selfish, self centered, corrupt, daft, inhuman people who call themselves senators and law makers. |
@poster whoever that prophet is then na lie. i believ in some prophecies but majority of this so called prophet are just hungry people. i had an encounter with one on my last visit to naija to try and meet my future inlaws which never took place because the dad is angry as per igbo yourba stuff, anyway there is this my womans family friend who claims she is a prophet and came to me telling me to leave my woman that me i have problem in my household that i shouldnt not marry my fiancee, bla bla bla, and funniest part was that she said that i have to fast dry fasting for 7days but she can do it for me but she will go and stay in an hotel for the whole 7days without eating or seeing anyone or moon, sun. that she will check the price and call me back, so when i came back to my base here in uk, she was telling me she was praying for me that hope i am seeing changes in my life, which i found funny because which family doesnt have its own problems. can you believe that a prophet that wants to fast for me, na she get problem ? i jst stopped answering her calls anytime she flashes me. all am saying is, if it was that important why didnt your family call youu ASAp ? or why havent they done the consulting years ago and waited until now ? abeg if you love you guy and you understand each other, go into prayer and fasting to avert any devilish prophecy in your lives and continue with you life together. |
mr ade hae your forgotten my request ? is this 3bedrrom available and will like to get it inspected 2moro . whats the descripton ? |

@ al qaeda you need to be tied to a chair so that the americans and britains can torture you to your fucking death. you bloody piece of shit as if your genrations or people from your tribe havent been caught in scams as well. fucking tribalistic bastard, retard. olori burku, omo ale jati jati. ewu. |
This is so sad to read. when we nigerians apply for the top jobs and we dont get it or are refused to be called for interview, we start complaining that they dont give us good jobs but when we get it, we misuse the opportunity and mess things up for people. mabe it was even the guy sef because of his nigerian background that jeopardised my chance of getting a job experience in the banking industry with BNY Mellon in manchester last year, but i was able to get a job in another bank. all these identity theft guys its very unfair what they do to people, currently i am involved in a battle with the inland revenue over unpaid tax all in the name that someone stole my ni number and details and was working with it and didnt pay tax and now i am left to proove that it wasnt me doing the job. if the guy is as brilliant as quoted, he shold have channeled his brilliance into developing a software and make millions out of it just as founders of facebook, google did, or more still go to naija and work in a firm and make mega bucks as a ankee trained professional. Nigerians we never cease to dissapoint ourselves after they will say it is only givernment that is bad. let them send him to jail he has been doing it not just for 1 yr but for more than 4yrs. he didnt even think of repentin sef. after people like him will go to naija and start spending dollar bill and giving the impression that money is easy to come by abroad and when a hardworking person goes home with little change he/she has and doesnt spen they will say he /she is stingy. |
@poster you said he works in a bank. working in a bank doesnt make him a millionair aor doesnt mean he earns mega bucks monthly your story is partially stated. for us to know the real situation of things. how much does he earn monthly as salary so we can decide and pass opinions accordingly. |
i use to enjoy agege bread i will gently remove the top and put a hole in the middle and pour fanta inside . lolyummy. with groundnut. |
i feel u poster jare. it happens mostly amongst naija women thats why you see them with 1kid and no hsband single mothers. and the men are reduced to mumu that if the woman says jump they will say how high. i know these because my dad married a naija woman in london who already has a son who is life 17 or so, and anytime he wants something done he has to call me to do it for hime which i find very annonying and i voice it out to him. i have stopped visitig him in fact last time i saw him was 2yrs ago and coming to 3yrs now he lives in london and i in manchester. anytime i go to the house the way my dad runs aaround the woman is sooooooooooo annonying and this is a man of 60yrs old ooo. lol all i am saying its not only wifes that are brought from naija misbehave even the ones you marry here in uk also misbehave and has bad attitude because the country gives woman a higher regards than men. |
@poster what has yoruba got to do with corruption ? he looted he is yoruba and i am yoruba if i was given the opportunity to sentence him i will send him to spend the rest of his miserable life in prison and also strip him off all the assests he amassed with the stolen funds, same thing i would do if it was an hausa, igbo or any other tribe. its not a matter of supporting anybody. nairlanders should for once be reasonable and not base all issues at hand in regards to nigeria on tribe. because tribe has nothing to do with corrupton or making nigeria better as they say. UNITED WE STAND, AND DIVIDED WE FALL. !!!! |
its not just igbos ooo. i am yoruba and i love isi ewu and nkwobi infact i always salivate just at the thought of it. jan 09 was my first time of getting round to tast them both and it was fun and looking forward to eating it again. my fiancee is igbo and she likes it as well. ![]() |
This is something that should have been done lon time ago. in nigeria of today just on 1 street alone you will see like 3branches of the same bank. most nigerian banks just keep opening branches and expanding at ridiculous rate not paying attention to the main ethics of banking because they believe opening more branches means more customers not taking into consideration other aspects. now they are going to be closing branches which in turns means making people jobless an issue that would have happened in the first place if they had reasoned well. |
nonsense justice bernard madoff in the usa got 150yrs in jail and they are given him 2yrs pere. who cares if he eats or sleeps. anyway kuduos to the judge for at least sending him to prison but he deserves more than what was offered to him. |
lol na so naija be. anytime they hear party they must show and enjoy some even go to parties with nylon bags and polybags to take food away as well as drinks. now they will be throwing stones at the guy for stealing 12million pere. well lets see how many years them go give am since someone wey tief over 80billion was given just 2yrs. when madoff got 150yrs in usa. |
@poster For pete sake. you asked a question and i am sure you will be reasonable enough to take into consideration what intelligent people who are married or reasonable have said. 15k is small yes agreed but you have been managing it all along so pls continue managing. inugo. pele. i dont know the situation in your household, but it might be your husband isnt financially buoyant or on low income, and as you said yourself, you have been helping so pls continue helping. there are families that the husband earns much buit doesnt give the wife a penny because he believes that after taking care of the fees rent, car, at least the wife should be able to maintain the house. but if ur husbands earns more and you feel he can afford to increase your allowance, then call him in the midle of the night and cajole him to increase it. there are people that receive 50-1million a month for allowance but if you ask them they will still say it is not enough that they are managing. so continue helping your husband and dont mind some people who have come here to shout and tell you it is not acceptable because if you check well, majority of them are not maried and those that are married and are running their mouth if you go to their houses they might even be on less money that that. sorry for the essay. the conclusion is continue managing, but talk about it with your husband . |
Guys dont be suprised, Before it was a millions of naira or dollars that was missing from the safe a few months ago now its 6million naira. missing indeed. am not suprised anyway. missing money, corruption, is always the main menu in power these days. |
This is all absolute rubiish, i just wonder who advices them of such steps to take. do they think nigerians will tell them well done or give them a pat on the back for ? who are they fooling they seems to think that nigerians are daft and uninformed as them ? Efcc and waziri know where this money is, they dont need a forensic scientist or financial scientist to trace the money for them. its just a matter of locating those involved in the approval of the said funds and take it from there. Intelligent Nigerians who want a change for nigeria will do a more better and thorough job if they are allowed to do so and with less of the money which they are going to pay to the white men. which most of them dont even have proper qualifications and cant spell correctly. dont ask me how, because i work in the financial institution in the uk and i can testify well to this fact. i just see this as an avenue for PR just to make it look like the government and efcc is doing something and we all know its just a smokescreen and pr purposes. how many people is mentioning anything about halliburton scandal again ? BULLSHITTTTT!!!!!! |

Do you see me laughing or smiling. see question. |
@poster u forgot to mention salford uni and man met as well. so re arrange ur post. thanks. |
I have had the opportunity of going to naija 3times this year already not because i am rich or anything and everythime i went, i always sre i tell people the real fact about life, even the yahoo yahoo guys in london now that iknow are back in naija becos there is no more show. if you have a good job in naija and you are prepared to cut ur coat according to your size then you will be fine. i have a friend who graduated from abu and came to uk, infact i gave him my info to work as a labourer in a construction site before he graduated to security officer, but he was lucky to get a job in naija last year as a marketer in skye bank, this guy is now married and living in abule egba has a murano jeep and golf. all in less that 1year that he went back to naija. all i am saying is. people are also making it in naija. yes there is no light, the roads are bad, armed robbers and thief. na they same naija dem born us and most of us grew up there. perosnally once i complete my education by next year, with my work experience, and my pali i am going back to naija at least t contribute my own quota to the economy even thous naija didnt ive me anything. i dont want to keep paying hugh tax bills, and having to run from work to skool and from skool to work doing the same thing everday. anytime i need medical check up, i dust my passport and take next available flight to uk. chikena. |
Life all depends on different individuals. some of us go to naija and stat forming and those in naija will be thinking all is well and money plenty for obodo oyibo. not knowing that to be honest, most nigerians use credit card, loans as well as cash till pay day to go to naija and start showing off and bragging. life abroad is good in the sense that, constant electricity, security all these you have to pay for and not paying council tax, can land u in prison. i have worked in the financial services sector in the uk as a debt advisor, and sometimes i feel sorry for some nigerians i come across, who are in difficulty. you will be suprised some nigerians owe £50k and can only afford £1 per month. and majority of these people either used this money to build house in naija or spent lavishly. presently i work as a recovery agent in a bank which is from helping people with theire debt in my old job and helpiing them get out of debt to now asking them to pay. when i call some naija people like thise, some will start speaking yoruba or pidging pretending like they dont hear english and i jst smile becos they dont know me sef i be naija. what am saying in essence is that life in uk is good as long as you play by the rules and ready to live on strict guildlines. |
@poster Buy him brighter grammer and tell him to start learning timestable and make him understand the consequences of not being able to recite it. and also before u go to bed at night, remove ur smartcard abi na dstv card so u dnt forget in the morning. or better still instruct the househelp to put tv on btw certain times and after that its off to his books. and if you cant monitor him, make sure yur wife does. |
