hello mr Ade, I spoke to you on phone earlier on phone in regards to the 3bedroom. this are my requirements. i have also lost much and of recent, sent 50k to my mumsy to open a saving account for me and she used the money to go and buy shares, i almost cursed her because it was during the period of recession started in uk den, but it wasnt it naija. naija recession is as a result of the bank ceo thieving culture, and manipulating the books thats why what is happening in naija today has happened. God help us all. |
I will take them for deliverance, and flog the evile spirit of gayness out of their life. ![]() |
Whats the total package including fees ? |
In as much as i dont want these people to go free well it is withing their rights to apply for bail and its left for the judge to decide if to grant them bail and in this case they got bail but the amount they were asked ot pay as bail and sureties is chicken change to these guys, because while they were ceo of these bank they have enriched themselves well so bringin out 100million naira is just like bringing out 1million naira . what the judge should aslo do is to seize their international passport so that they wont be able to flee the country, but as well all know Nigeria judicial system, lets wait and watch and see what happens next. |
@poster whats the price |
naijaking1:Sorry but i beg to differ from the fact that you said my understanding of the Nigeria banking problem is quite wrong. professionally, i have had the opportunity of being in Nigeria 3times this year and i have looked round and also spoken to friends in the banking secotr as well who are professionals, and i belive i understand well what is happening In regards to this section, what i said was as long as he doesnt have any political agenda then he has my support and yes if it affects 1 bank it it bound to affect the rest its very simple its like you pouring palmoil into a pot of rice , definately the palmoil will touch most or all of the rice in the pot but at the end all na to cook jollof rice thats exactly whats is going to happen. ASLONG AS IT ISNT POLITICALLY MOTIVATED but Nevertheless i still say sacking the banks CEO is the best action as well as exposing the Non performing loans becasue if he hadnt thise banks will have continued with their unhealthy practice and ruin this bank because they built up these banks doesnt mean they have to destroy it and bring it back to its knees i personally dont call this expertise its espertise fraudlently and deceit which is more than treachery as i said earlier all they did was delay the suffernessand crisis which if had been exposed earlier at least we also would have been on the road to recovery by now |
princekevo:The reason why you didnt hear is because you are probably in naija if you are in the uk you will know that most of these banks affected RESIGNED before they could be sacked and they had to take pays== cut as well as pension cut an example is FRED THe SHRED who was head of RBS |
Most of these Nigerian newspapaers journalist just print rubbish, they are painting a picture of what has happened as a sacrilage. these business men and managers that are complaining are the beneficiaries of the so called uncollaterised loans why wouldnt they want to protect their own interest ? they are complaining of it affecting businesses, regardless of what has happened the banks that are healthy in nigeria should be able to pull through an example is Barclays Bank. HSBC, they didnt collect any bailout money and they are doing fine so if the healthy banks adapt the same methids used then they might be able to overcome the crisis. there is actually a guy that is thr owner of a oil and gas company in lagos. that commented on the crisis saying sanusi action was uncalled for. this same guy owes his staff more than 7months salary and his sister from the village drives an 07vw passat. |
@fhemmy thanks i think a few nairalanders actually need to be educated well on what has happened or what is happening in naija. this is not the fault of cbn or sanusi it is the fault of greedy individuals period and their supporters as well. the move the cbn has taken is the best way so far and there is no way it will affect 5banks and not affect all, it will definately do so, but one things i believe is that if sanusi is for real and doesnt have any polotical or hidden agenda then things should get back to normal but it will take a while. |
@naijaking1 I dont see why your are so blinded by the fact that what happened in NIGERIA or is happening in Nigeria is something that has supposed to have happened a long time ago at the same time as rest of the world. your are just putting your frustration and annonyance in the wrong place. i am not in naija as i said i have workd as a financial advisor in the uk and can boast of having footballers as one on my customers google Baines &Ernst and Blair Endersby thery are IVA and DMP & Administer Bankruptsy as well i was a senior member of staff there before i resigned and i have dealt with thousands of people with debt problems and cureentyl work as a recovery agents for All the banks in the uk ok. so i dont know who sanusi is and morover as i said earlier. put aside tribalism, sentiments, frustration, anger and annonyance. and if you are a professional. you will understand what is happening is bound to happen, it should have happened since but was being delayed by bunch of crooks and to be frank with you, this shouldnt have affected Nigerians financial institution much but it did because of the greedy people such as ibru, akingbola, who allowed themselves to go against all the professional banking ethics. NB naijaking1:i am not being tribalistic or religious and to be frank with you, i dont care who takes over the job as long as who ever has the job is doin a great job and has a clean and clear ways and also as long as its not politically motivated. also i have played ball in the international legue especially uk to be prescise so therefore i am not ignorant and neither am i stupid. i dont think you actually know what PROFESSIONALISM is also dont think you actually understand the GENESIS of what brought abput the banking crises which cleaerly is the handwork of individuals. and as i said earlier SANUSI has my support as a fellow banker and professional as long as he doesnt have any political hidden agenda. and wants to better the NIgerian Banking secotr because i am coming to contibute my own quota in a short while to the banking secotr to make it better. |
@naija king1, YOU ARE A MEGA DISGRACE TO US NAIRALANDERS ON HERE YOU SAY THE FORMER CBN GUIDED NAIJA FINANCE SECTOR THROUGH THAT PERIOD, I WEEP FOR YOU BECAUSE ALL HE DID WAS DELAY THE SUFFERNESS PEOPLE LIKE YOU WOULD RECEIVE WHICH HAS NOW HAPPENED AND FOR THE RECORDS, I AM NOT A MALLAM, I AM A YORUBA MAN FROM ONDO STATE. ODE IRA NU |
Fellow Nairalanders, i am not coming on here to mention anything about Lc of importation or anything , but what i have to say is that what has happened in the Nigerian banking sector is bound to happen. lets put aside tribalism and prejudice and hatred for one another andd sit down and reason for once what has happened here. The financial crisis started in the us first with the collapse of Lehman brothers and one by one it started affecting other financial insitutions as well as other countries. when this was affecting other countries, jobs were being lost in the banking , financial secotr as well as other sectors as well including construction and even cleaners were losing their job as well as being made redundant. these led to th government of this contries coming together to try and boost up the economy by pumping money into the banking sector, some banks took the funds while some didnt such as the likes of barclays. but lets also bearing in mind that these countires have welfare packages for their own people such that as being unemployed, the government will pay your rent for you as well as council tax, and you yourself will be entitled to various benefits such as JSA, INCOME SUPPORT, TAX CREDITS, so these benefits makes the lives of individuals less stressful. right now the recession is already ending in a few contries and they are already recovering from the recession and backed with individuals who own their business as well as other industries such as asda and sainburys people are already getting back into employment but the recession is still biting which has made the BOG to leave interest rate at 5% Back to the nigerian sector, when the recession started and other stronger economy were affected nigerian finance sector were busy cooking up the books and also posting ridiculous profits and because of the greediness of the CBN governor at that time as well as the selfishenss of the likes of ibru, akingbola, e.t.c. those that took billions of loans, Nigerians didnt feel the impact and professionally as a financial advisor in th uk as well as recovery agent the actions of sanusi is the best thing to do because nigerians would have been unaware of what was happening if soludo had still continue to be cbn governor , the books will have been well cooked and all would have been well and all of a sudden nigerians would wake up to see the banks collapse in one day and wothout any funds to be paid to depositors because this is nigeria even the banks whoch folded up years ago till today the depositors are still yet to be paid their money, people see the actins of sanusi as not being the right one becuase he has caused commotion in the secotr which has led to firing of staffs and making more people unemployed to the many unemployed people already making tit difficult. but If we decide to look at these whole issue wwell and as learned people, the actions of sanusi is the best becuase what has happened now as long as his actions are not politically motivated and honest then by the time all these is done the banking secotr will come back bigger, better and stronger. and in doing this many people are going to feel the effet but as they say nothing good comes easy, he has started byy exposing al these people which has affected people which has led to loss of jobs but what he also had kept quiet and these banks had collapse and what would we have done that would be many funds of deositors gone because we all knwo that to get it back will be a problem even peole that are loosing money to ATM funds are having diffculty getting it back not to know talk of millions of nigerians loosing their money to the banks. so my fellow nairlanders, lets be grateful what happened has happened and lets look at the brighter side of things, after all these i personally hope and believe that this will make the nigerian banking sector stronger and make other banks sit up and start acting right . |
@poster also are the prices quoted inclusive of agency fees and agreements ? |
I am not attacking anyone here but something i have noticed about nigerians is that for those that havent travelled abroad before and see the way things are being done tend to accept being treated anyhow. personally if it was me i will slap the guy back twice and patapata i will run away or loose the job but forget i MUST slap him back same thing while i was in naija on 1week vacaton went to uba around ogba area and there was qserious queue and the cashiers were busy jisting and not attending to customers and the poor customers not knowing that the systems were down, so one guy asked wots is happening and the cashier bascially replied in a tone dat say shut up and wait. i then responded with my phoney accent and made sure i shouted dat even person wey deaf go hear wetin i talk and asked wots happening and basically blasted them for jisting and using moble phne while customers a re queuing up and dem not telling us wots going on, immediately i shouted 3people responded at the same time with sorry sir started apologiseing. so basically we shudnt accept nonsense from anybody before i left naija i would have probably kept quiet but now if anything happens and i know am within my rights i will speak up and if i have to shout i will. |
Theproblem is not sanusi but with the cb and banking crooks who were cooking thebooks to make thenigerian banking sector when it wasnt. when the recession was biting hard in all other european countries who have stronger banking cultures and better banks than nigerian banks, our own banks and cbn were busy cooking the books and posting hefty and healthy profits, and now that other countries are on the road to recovery our own banks are now in turmoil thanks to the unhealthy banking practice of some individuals who are suppose to be relaxing in jail just as bernard maddofff is doing in a us jail were hewill be serving 150yrs jail term. so if what is happening now will bring sanity back to the banking sector we need to bearwith sanusi, but shredding jobs isnot the solution as they are just making things worse for people seeking employment and making people unemployed in a country were fiinding jobs isdifficult and no benefitsystem to accomodate the people being made redundant. |
this post really caught my attention. bellview is the worst airline i have heard off. same thing happened to my very good friend as well he flew with them in july to naija because they luggage allowance is much better compared to other flights, and also he thought it was cheap as well for £430 which wasnt after all considering the 2days delay and 3days it took for the baggae to arrive in naija i have never flown with them and will never do. besides i dont really think they are the cheapest tho because i fly with Airfrance at all times to naija and so far so good. they have been cheap in fact my last trip to naija a few months ago was £400, left on time and arrived naija on time, bags intact. and that has been the same since i have been flying except once when there was a delay due to technical fault and Food finished on board but i was compensated with enough wine. |
even if he compalines to the complaints desk nothing will be done and even if something is done it will take time and you must keep hounding them or else they wont even look at your comlain. |
@poster sorry to hear that its very sad to hear and those that are asking if it is true or not. yes it is true in countries like the uk all you have to do is go to the bak branch and query it and they will give you a form to fill out and immediately you are refunded back your money and the bank will query it by looking at cctv footages of the cash point becos all points has cctv in the uk, so its easy to identify who took paymnets but in nigeeria thats not the case. its all just pathetic. i have told my wife not to use my card in any atm if she does and my money goes missing, she will refund it. lol |
@mr crackles i dont know why you said that but, this year along i have flown them 2wice to naija from manchester and it was very good, although my first time was in may and it wasnt really good cos as we ere about to take off, the ac got faulty at the runway and we had to turn back to the parking lot to get it fixed and wen midair, they gave menu to choose from which i found it funny cos they only had 2 options chicken or fish. and since i dont eat fish i asked for meeat and they said it has finished. which was funny, but i was compensated with plenty bottles of wine as i drank till i got to naija all the way, and also i had good seat mates and we jisted all the way to naija from paris. and my second time was smooth and perfect no problem, and not had any problems on my way back to uk as well thats why i said airfrance all the way. i believe the reason is that nijas will only grumble and mumble, but if u speak to them and u r on ur right they will start apologising, like me before we take off i ask for water and they must give me. and also when food finished all i had to do was give them a shout and my wine don land again. lol. and wen i flew va in jan this year from london which was costly cos i had to travel to london from manchester, flight was ok as we arrived early in naija and service was good, cos am someone that i will speak up if sumthing is ron, i wont just mumble and grumble but will shout. i am paying for their serives so i shud get it. |
@poster thats true my friend was also on that flight as well, he decided to fly with them because he believed it was cheap from manchester, but according to him it was just poor service and even his luggage took 3days to arrive and they flight was cancelled without informing anybody. very sad cos he came all di way from manchester. thats why i fly airfrance. |
@ poster cudnt be well said, i have had an encounter with csa in uba house and i must say it is pathetic, the person i came to meet because i opened Nrn account basically wasted my time only for me to get to the reception and seeing the csa hugging a collegue of hers in full view of customers who are waiting to be attended to, i was pissed off and just threw the pass on the table ans walked out didnt bother signing i was called back but i didnt answer. my wife who was there at that time apologised to them on my behalf. next day i went there and met the same lady who asked me why i did what i did, i was pissed of and borugh out my work id card in the uk to show that i work in a bank in the uk bo, sbo level in naija, and told her pont blank what she did was unprofessional and if it had happened in my dept in uk i would have given her a warning. what am saying is that most banks staff lack manners, professionalism, and they see customers as being inferior, and i think they get away with it because nigerians dont like making a scene or shouting. i personally say if anyone has been treated wrongly in a bank shout, scream request to see a senior manager or ho and believe me they will start begging you. |
After reading some postes on here. 1: these said mentioned loans were given to these individuals without following due process, which is under banking rules and regulations, criminal offence, unethical, and financally wrong and therefore in countries like the uk it is a jail term as penalty. 2: these banks should tell the public under what agreements these loans were granted to these individuals under the freedom of information act, which i dont think applies in nigeria anyway, reason is they might have been specific aggreements made btw the banks and these people. 3: in developed countries when a banks grants loan to an individual or business in the uk, it is under law that the loan has to be repaid back over a number of years ranging from 1month to 5years maximum which most banks do and in the case of mortages its over 30yrs maximum. 4: when these loans are issued there are some that gives the borrower a space eg, pay nothing for 6months or pay nothing for 1st month and start paying. a monthly payment plan is followed both by companies and individuals. interest rate is agreed and some banks advice people to also take insurance cover against unemployment, illness, or instances of loss of earnings, then the insurance will pay the monthly payments for a period of 2-6months beofre assessing your financial situation, but in a business, loans which are of high amounts are actualled secured against the business which means if paymsnts is missed, the business or individual is notified in writing by the bank and then they are being charged a penalty for that month of missed paymnemts amd they advice the cust of arrs and advice to clear that as soon as possible, 4: for anythime a payment is missed the debtor is notified in writing and charged if after a period of time monthly payments keeps being missed then after 3missed payment a default notie is issued and then that is registered against credit file and affect the person credit rating and in respect to business they give an option of renegotiating the loan thats why some banks offer peole and business what is called a consolidation loan where by a bank takes all the debts a business has, and pays it off and then the business or individual makes just 1 monnthly payment, if the buesineess defaults again in this arrangement then the banks can either send the loan to external debt collection agaencies if its unsecured loan but if its secured then the bank sues the business to try and get the court injuction to enforce a payments structure and if the business cant afford the payment then the ladministrators are called in to wind down the business and each creditors is paid after selling off the assests of the business but in some circumsatances the business doesnt have enough assests to cover the debts what is being done is that each debtor has to agree a settlement figure so as to get something. 5: external debt collections comprises of different departments, fthose that contact the customer to try and resolve and come to an agreed monthly payment plan, if the customer or business failes then they give them more time, and keep calling and sending them constatnt letters, and if the debtor still refuses to pay or come to an agreement, some companies pass the account to bailiffs who under law have what is called a warrant of execution, which gives them the right to ente you property oif you open the door for them and seize you property eg, sofas, tv, electrical appliances to sell at public auctions or cars. in respect to a business its usually legal action that is taken which involves the courts and not the serious organised crime agencies or fraud unit. 5: in the case of the nigerian back, sanusi has done the right thing by sacking them, what next should have been is that they should be made to face a financial servieces panel to justify their actions and reasons for not following due banking process, afer that if guilty which they are they are to be forwarded or recommended for arrest by the fsa to the Efcc which are in charge of things liek that and if found that they have enriched themselves with the mentioned funds they should be stripped of their assest which is usually tagged as proceeds of crime. (bernard maddoff is an example). then they should finally be jailed and banned from holding any management position in any fiancial institution or management position again. (as this is the case in the uk). 6: it is now left for the banks recovery team and department, and external debt collection agencies to recover these loand and if these people dont want to pay then the next thing is to look into making the debtors Bankrpt but because they have assests they cant be made bankrpt so what they should look into is if its an unsecured loan they can apply for the loan to be secured and after that look to make the business insolvent and in this case they business and bank with the courts can come to an agreement because the business is still trading and wont want to be placed into administrating or made insolvent, and thats is the step nefcc are not appointed bodies to be chasing debtors neither are police men but police men can accompany the banks recovery agent because some of these debotrs might get agreesive and descend of them agents of the bank. m |
