TravelRe: Why Do People Back Home Think Money Grows On Trees Abroad? by axeman85(m): 9:54pm On Oct 14, 2009
@poster

Dont be in a haste to judge most of them because majority of those abroad go home to naija and start showing off and spending like money grows on trees here whereas all they do is security work from 7am till 7pm including weekends so if someone goes to naija with all the flashy stuffs which by the way are bought on finance or contract phones people back home are bound to believe its all rosey here.

i tell my friends when i had the opportunity to go that, come forget the way people come back from uk and us and start forming levels and claiming big bois and girls and start oppressing as some of them na KPEKE dem dey do for london and security work and yahoo yahoo.

so the point am driving at is that its the way some people behave when they go home that makes others believes its all rosey here. not knowing that after paying rent, council tax, gas, electricity, water, food, topup, bt bill, not forgetting other sundry expenses like, loans, credit cards as well al those oweing to debt companys nothing is left and the litle left is to be managed

so my people when we go home always be honest with those back home and dont be shy or ashamed to tell them the true situation of things down here. period.

BusinessRe: Why Can't Nigerians Shop Online? by axeman85(m): 8:46pm On Oct 11, 2009
To be honest shopping online is Nigeria is not that easy because there are certain factors to be considered.

1: houses is nigeria are not well numbered or well signed which will make delivery difficult for a store delivery groceries to a customer.

2: groceries have times of which they deliver and the customer or a representative has to be present to collect the goods and also each driver has a time length he has to deliver

3: traffic situation in Nigeria might not make delivering groceries in the afternoon or evening feasible as deliveries will tend to be bte 11am and 1pm when traffic is usually light.

even in uk and usa people still use other peoples card details to order for groceries and all they need to do is answer di door when the delivery guy buzz di bell and answer the name on the card the groceries was ordered in. not to talk of naija where it can take just less than 1hour to get an identity card in someone elses name. so its all about risk taking a someone said earlier.

which ever company or store will do online delivery in naija has to be prepared to take the risk and also bearing in mind if someone card is used fraudlently in other countires all you need to do is compalin and under cisa international refund policy as long as the amount is les than £5000 i think you will get a refund straight away while investigation is going on and it takes about 30days and if you dont know about it insurance will cover the funds. but in naija it will be difficult to get refunds becos even people card that gets taking via atm card while the owner still has the card with them is difficul t for banks to make reufnds some people dont even get their money back. so its a matter of high risk and who is willing to take it.

to those that share my plight thanks

to those that want to know wot i did, i didnt, kill or cheat or do anything unheard of, all i did was neglect her for 1month and kept talking about something else withouth caring how she felt or was doing. up to the extent she told me she had a headache and i said ok and forgot to say sorry because i am occupied with sumthing else.

and yes there are true words which i wrote myself, not looking for sympathy neither am i looking for support or trying to play cool. she comes on here sometimes and am using every means possible to say sorry to her.  since i cant look at her and tell her face 2 face in person.

when you love someone so much that you will do anything and everything for them and he/she is also willing to do eanything for you. when you hurt their feelings no amount of words can be enough to say ow sorry you are which is my case.

I'm sorry is so easy to write, hard to say, and incredibly painful to feel. Compared to feeling truly sorry, writing it and saying it looks & feels so inadequate. If I had never said I was sorry, and if I do not act as though I'm sorry in everyday life and especially how I treat you, writing this letter would mean nothing. In fact, under tose conditions, a mere letter would infuriate you.In light of all this, I am more than confident of the sorrow I feel, that it shows and I have to continue to tell you I am sorry. So hopefully this letter only reinforces what is continually being expressed. My ultimate goal is to make you know that I am sorry (although I could never fully show you), by the way I live.I'm sorry for so many things, I'm sorry for letting you down.

You beleived in me, I'm sorry for ruining your belief. For taking things that you were sure of , that I made you sure of, and turning them upside down.I'm sorry for killing your good friend. The guy you confided in. The man you could go and talk to about something that upset you. The one you would call on when no one else would do. The one youshared yourself with. The one you were a freind to. "I'm sorry" doesn;t come close to how I feel for changing "I do" to "I didn't". i'll be shedding tears in my grave that only God will see.

I know this because my sorrow has buried me six feet in a casket made of regret, in a box where light and air is no more. A prisioner of the past. And everyday I am there now, And God sees the tears. And everytime I take a peak out above the ground, I see a tombstone with your name on it. And the only thing worse than being where I am is knowing where you are and knowing that I put you there.I am sorry that I separted you from your friend, the one who loved you, was commited and dedicated to you. The one you were commited to and dedicated to. The one you stayed faithful to.I'm sorry the person who cared for me, the person I love, I hurt more than anyone I've ever hurt in the world. I'm sorry for every time during the day and night you think about what I've done. I'm sorry for every tear you shed because i never paid any anttenton to you, No matter what I now say and do, you know I let you down in the worst possible way. I'm sorry that there are no words to soothe your pain, no magic wand to change the past

I'm sorry that you ever have any thoughts at all that you are not the right woman for me. I hate that. I know they are very painful thoughts for you to have.I'm sorry I ever gave any hint or suggestion that I was interested in anything other than you.I'm sorry that I dug a hole and put you in it and took away your light and air. I'm sorry that I at least temporiraly ruined what we have,I'm sorry for the doubt you feel in everything I say or do. I'm sorry you dont feel confident or secure in a future. I'm sorry your not enjoying the simple pleasures you normally would, spending time enjoying thing you normally wouldI'm sorry for everyday of our lives that I wasn't a better man, that I didn't treat you right, didn't talk to you right, didn't uphold you, support you, lift you up, give you hope make you know how special you are, every day I didn't somehow inspire you by my deeds to be a better person yourself.

I'm sorry for every tim e I've ever hurt you. I'm sorry for not saying the right thing, thinking of you in little ways that would make you happy. I'm sorry for every moment you don't enjoy life because of the misery I've caused. I'm sorry, so sorry, for every moment you've had to feel, hurt, lonely, abandoned, crushed, defeted, lost, helpless, hopless, disgusted, discounted, forgotten, spit on, punched, kicked, laughed at, put down, beat up, broken, cheap, neglected, run over, spun around, disoriented, left out, depressed, sad, tearful, angry, bitter, etc

I'm sorry I borke my promise to you. I'm sorry I didn't do what I promised. I'm sorry I wasn't man enough, wasn't good enough, didn't have character enough, strength enough, courage enough, belief enough, perserverence enough to do the things I said I would. I'm sorry I've failed at being a friend, boyfirned, fiance and also an human being. I'm sorry when I wake up, when I work, when I play, when I eat, when I fast, when I pray, when I laugh, when I cry, when I'm alone, when I'm with you, when I talk, when I am silent. I'm sorry when I run, when I walk, rest, think, meditate, listen, understand, when I don't understand, when I hope, when I fear, when I'm in despair, when I'm uplifted, I am sorry when you do all these things, when you anthing, when you do nothing, I am sorry

I am sorry right now. I will be sorry tommorow and eferyday and night after tommorrow, through sunshine, rain, every season, every year, every moment, every breath, I will always be sorry until God Himslef wipes away every tear. I am sorry that if I run over a mountain, or wim an ocean, I can't change what I've done and what it's done to you, but i do know i can make amends and make things better and promise to keep and abide by the promises i already made to you as well as renew them to you

RomanceRe: Why Do Igbo In Yoruba Land Hate To Give Their Daughter To Yorubas by axeman85(m): 11:51am On Oct 01, 2009
I support aloy emeka. i thing it all depends on the mindset of the parents, reason is i am currently in the situation myself.

my fiancee even thou we are enegaged i havent met her parents becos her dad has always said yoruba lai lai. even thou he is a business man and i expected him to not have a problem with tribe. but i was fortunae to met the mum who was telling me. that yorubas dont value marriage like igbo people, she is the first born and first daughter. this and that. these were the reasons cited by the mother after my fiancee pleaded with her to at least see me. when the father found out he almost sent the mother packing out of the house, which was very shocking. what they fail to understand is that because someone is yoruba doesnt mean they all act the same way. we are still trying to convince them so keeping things low at the min.

when i told my dad and my sisters they didnt really have any issue with it apart from the fact that huge bride price and i made them understand that it is igbo families that are poor that deman big brideprice from their daughters suitors becos they see it as a way of getting out of poverty.

my mum on the other hadn said lai lai, and i was suprised becos she studied in the usa and also a learned person. so i just told her that she wont live wth me in my house, i will marry whoever i want to marry. either she likes it or she lumps it. it will and must go ahead once the girls parents reason small. grin

when i was in naija 1st time afta like 6yrs, i stayed in an holiday apartment for 3weeks and it was at a fee of 7500naira per night it was a 3bedroom apartment in magodo fully furnished wth ac, but all i had to do was make my food myself and buy diesel for the gen and it was at a cost of 5thousand for 50litres for 3days depending on the usage.

also on my second visit i stayed somewhere else as where istayed first time was no longer in operation, stayed in mko abiola gardens this time around it was for 1week anf it was at a fee of 12500naira per night and also as well 5k for diesel every 3days depending on the usage fully furnished as well ac, all i had to do was make my food myself.

but 3rd time in naija as i wasnt planning and had to go on emergency stayed in a budget hotel which was like i think 3500naira per night in gbagada for 2weeks. to be honest, it was a messed up place, throughot my stay all i did there was sleep and bath, the toilet was black and the place looked like ,  i dnt even know a word god enough to qualify the place.   but all this was experience. and ths stay was minus feeding, and taxis throughout as well as recharge cards, as well as the usual handouts you will dole out. lol

but now that am moving back to naija i have decide to secure an apartmen in the ogba, maryland, ojodu, surulere areas or either of these places so as to have a place to stay when next i am around before i finally come home in next few months finally. an i will be furnishing it gradually.

so the key is that since you are relocating finally get an accomodation as soon as possible as you can because for everyday you spend in a hotel you are spending more money and its costly as well.
all these was withing te last 9months. ooo.
