Ishoba: A question was asked while I was submitting my express entry profile that have I applied to express entry before and also input the ee number.
Although I have submitted like 2 profiles which has expired. I don't know if the answer should be Yes. And which of the 2 previous number should I include?
I am confused with the term "apply" as i am thinking its for a case of ITA, moreover, my previous profiles has been deleted and I cant even remember the ee number.
Someone pls help me out. The answer is no. Creating an EE profile does not equal receiving an ITA and submitting an application |

Chinwendufedi: Hi house, please I have an urgent question if anyone can help please or share their experience it will go a long way. I'm in Canada presently, as I applied last year to come in through study route and it was approved. The issue is, now I want to apply for in-demand skills nomination through the Ontario PNP, and tweak my work experience to align with any of the roles in demand. Do you think they would be able to verify especially since I applied for the study visa and they now have all my documents with my initials job roles? The only thing I'm changing is the job role, but the companies I worked with will remain the same. Please advise, I'm running out of time and I need help Yes, this is easily verifiable. It may fly with OINP but its the same IRCC that processed your study permit that will also process your PR application. If your records indicate that you worked with Company A as a plumber in 2022, you can’t suddenly decide you worked there as a driver instead during the same period, you’ll be caught. |

amikable97: Congratulations to your sister! I am still in the journey myself. But I have a question regarding the reference letter and cash cert. Did she indicate in the reference letter that she was paid in cash? Or she just indicated that she was paid a certain amount?. Thanks in anticipation No, the letter didn’t indicate that it was cash. She uploaded only the ref letter to keep it simple and not invite unnecessary scrutiny. However, she had her employer sign the cash salary certificate and monthly payslips and kept them in the event of an ADR. |

AyabaS: My sister got ITA in the recent healthcare draw and she’s ready to submit, all documents readily available as same was submitted for OINP just last month. Thankfully OINP was still in submitted status despite having submitted over a month ago so $1,500 no waste. Anyway, she has a cash job and got a salary certificate for OINP, her reference letter meets IRCC standards so I’m contemplating submitting that alone and not unnecessary complicating the application since IRCC doesn’t ask for proof of compensation. However, from reading this thread, it appears its not uncommon for IRCC to send ADR for proof of income. Update on my sister’s application ITA- Oct 26 AOR- Nov 18 BIL/MIL- Jan 26 Biometrics completed- Feb 13 Medical passed- Feb 19 Eligibility &BGV completed on tracker- Mar 12 Final decision- Mar 12 PPR- Mar 13 The visa office the PPR came from is RROC. I didn’t submit the cash salary certificate, only reference letter. Also, we were just working on opening dorm account to top up her POF since some people have been getting ADR but thankfully no ADR. Goodluck to everyone still at the various stages. Adios! |

Clicked: Hello everyone. I'm a bit confused. I have work experience as a medical laboratory technologist from September 2019 - January 2021 and I'm hoping for a healthcare draw before the year runs out.
I've been under the assumption that my 2020 experience can count towards the healthcare occupation draws since the year 2020 is in the last three years. But someone said the experience would start counting from this year backwards, meaning only experience from 2021 counts.
Can someone please confirm if this is true? If my experience in 2020 will not be considered. This is December 2023 so 3 years ago is sometime in December 2020. By December 31 of this year, 2020 will no longer fall within the 3 years so no, you won’t meet the requirement of 6 months experience within the last 3 years |

Llaye: Hello everyone,
Please does anyone know of a Nigerian here who works with the Canadian Federal Government as a Permanent resident?
I ask because I know that to work with the FG as a non-citizen of Canada, a security clearance is required from your home country. And I recently learnt that the Nigerian govt never responds to the security clearance request. Someone I know says he was turned down at the interview stage when they learnt he's Nigerian and they gave him the reason "it's very difficult getting security clearance done for Nigerians" but this was many years ago.
I've tried to ask around and haven't been able to find anyone who knows a Nigerian who's successfully done it recently. Those I found had become Canadian citizens before getting into the FG jobs.
So I'm starting to believe the guys who say it may be a worthless venture applying to those roles as a PR with Nigerian citizenship. *phew Don’t let anyone discourage you please. I am a PR, I I haven’t been in Canada for up to 3 years and I’ve been working with the FG for over 2 years. When it was time for security clearance, I didn’t have to do anything other than fill a form. It took about 2 months for my clearance to be issued, it wasn’t a big deal at all. |

But the application form won't let me proceed further as it is asking me to fill my IME, which I don't have for obvious reasons. How can I get pass this stage? You can’t. IRCC no longer requires upfront medical, they’ll ask for it when they need it and the medical request will include IME. |

Izen: Guys please I am in a fix. I just got an email from Ontario that they want to nominate me but can't find my EE profile. They got a "No longer available for nomination - Others"
They said it could be for any of these reasons;
Received an Invitation to Apply from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC); or Have a pending nomination from another province or territory; or Removed Ontario as a province of destination in your Express Entry profile.
Point 1 & 2 don't apply to me and I am sure I picked Ontario as one of the provinces I want to reside in. They said if this is the case, I have to update my profile and choose Ontario but I don't even know how to do this. I have scanned the entire website and can't find a way to check or fix this. For context, this profile is different from the one Ontario sent my ITA to, the previous one expired.
Has anyone else experienced this?
My status now shows "awaiting information" and I have less than 72 hours to fix this, please help. Did you ever provide ON with your new profile number? They may be trying to nominate on the expired profile that’s no longer valid. Send them your new profile details via their email if they don’t already have it |

Don’t know IRCC’s stand on this but we’re all aware this is how most arrangee POF are presented and considering how both those offering and looking for this service are loud about it on social media, its only a matter of time before it casts. |

I’m still learning the robes here (16 months after). Thanks for the information Renting can be so stressful, I saw shege with landlords but thankfully I don’t rent anymore. tshtsh: Towards the end of my lease the landlord sent me an eviction notice under the guise that his son was moving into the unit. I was scared of the rental market due to my previous experience. The landlord later called me to share the condo with his son (its a 2-bed condo) which I rejected because I furnished the apartment fully and didn't think it was a good deal. He offered to reduce the rent but I said no to him and stopped paying him because he was holding my $6,000 in deposit (last three months rent) Just wanted to point out incase you’re not aware that your landlord owes you one months rent as compensation for evicting you for personal use. Also, if he ends up re-renting the place within a year of you leaving, you can get much more up to a year’s rent sef. Had similar issues with a previous landlord and when they saw that I was very familiar with the RTA and knew my rights, they paid me my dues. |

AyabaS: Does cash salary certificate meet this requirement? ‘letter(s) from employer(s) confirming your annual salary/hourly wage. These letters must explain why documentation to verify compensation for work performed is not available‘.
OINP requires proof of compensation in addition to ref letter but my sister’s job is paid in cash so no payslip etc. She’s already collected her ref letter and cash salary certificate. Ejor o, who don do OINP with cash salary before? That’s the only proof or compensation available and C$1500 application fee is too much to waste if it’ll end in a rejection. |

GraciousWords: I've been wondering this myself and I'm not sure of the answer TBH. In one breath, they say minimum requirement is 6 months but on the other hand they say you have to have qualified for FSW, FST or CEC to be eligible and FSW requires 1 year continuous. So my conclusion is that if she has 6 months in a healthcare NOC which is her primary NOC and at least 1 year continuous in another then she may be fine.... I'm not 100% sure of this though since under normal circumstances the thinking was that the 1 yr continuousneeded to be in your primary NOC. If she is already at 10 months on the healthcare NOC, then she can just wait 2 more months to be safer in that NOC. This is exactly what I’m concerned about. She’s closer to 11 months so I’ll just tell her to use the NOC and take the ITA if it comes but not to submit the application till the 1 year mark. It’ll probably take that long to put the application together anyway. Thanks for your help. |

My sis has been working as a lab assistant in a private medical lab for the past 10 months and I see that it’s eligible for the new category based draws. She’s currently in the pool with a CRS of 480 which isn’t enough these days. She’s hesitant to use this noc because she has no healthcare background, her degree is in industrial chemistry, her prior work experience is teaching and she did ACCA F1-3 to get points for 2 degrees. She has been learning on the job and it’s a small lab so she’s being paid in cash. She’s not sure how to proceed and I don’t even know what to advice her sef |

My mum came in January on a visit visa and she was stamped in for 6 months, I applied for a visitor record in June to extend her stay to a year. I received a medical request letter 2 days ago and the letter said she has 30 days to complete the exam failing which a decision will be made on her application. I’ve now just received an approval for the application and her length of stay has been extended. Her profile shows the application as approved but the profile still shows that a medical exam was requested. Question is does she still need to do the medical exam since her application has been approved? |

NuCypher: When did Nairaland stop being a social website or any less better than Twitter in having conversations? Opinions are expressed on social websites and everyone should have a field day having some. There is no one corner of the internet any more restricted than the other. Deal with it. Whether in person or on social forums, opinions can be expressed with some decency. At the very least, have your field day without being a condescending douchebag. When you’re done running amok on the thread, I hope that you have other things going on in your life to return to. |

Or can she use her existing passport. Does IRCC need to see passport with same last names.
Thanks in advance for you response The female doesn’t have to do anything with her name or change any documents. Opting to change is a personal preference, there is no law/ regulation requiring it. It’s even illegal in some places. IRCC certainly doesn’t care, a marriage certificate is all that’s needed. Source? I’m married, didn’t change my name and I’m a PR |
