When people who knows what govt means talk about Nigeria being a joke some patriotic Nigerians will come and defend it as if Nigeria is worth living. Its sad i am saying this because i love my country but then imagine this: a cousin's friend came to live in this country as an assylum seeker, meaning he does not belong to this country, he is a Nigeria. Few years after he arrived here he was diagonised with kidney failure and was put on the waiting list. After 2 years he received a letter from the hospital-they got a donor for him the guys has just died in a motor accident adn carried donor card. This my cousin's friend was asked to report tot he hospital with immediate effect for the transplant. Now this donor was an Irish who was a donor (ppl who register to have their body parts used for medical research or to give to anyone in need in case they die). The man reported to the hospital and the transplant was done, he is not a celebrity neither is hea govt official, he is not even Irish, they do not know his father or his mother, yet all he did was report to the hospital and the transpant was done without him paying a dime, the govt paid because he was unemployed and could not afford to pay. He is still alive after 6 years and works with one of the banks here. Now imagine this: https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-185289.0.html. This guy has a donor and needs N7 million, his friends and family has been able to raise N2 million but the guy is going to die if the balance can not be raised. That amount is what an ordinary local govt chairman will blow on 'official' trip abroad, the amount a senator will give his son to holiday abroad or spend on his girlfriend's birthday party. But here lies this guy hoping only on God. You think Nigeria is not a joke? Well, ok but please can we do our own best in whatever way we can help this guy. Alittle here and there and before you know it we can raise N% million to save his life. |
(sorry for pasting this here but then, ) FOR TITHE PAYERS: For those Christians who pays tithe i want to beg you in the name of Jesus Christ who you claim to love so much not to pay your October tithe to your various churches but to pay it to save a life. I am sure that Jesus Christ would be more interested in us paying our tithe to save this young guy's life than pay it to do some other things the tithe is needed for. FOR NON TITHE PAYERS: I have read several times how some christians has argued that tithe should not be paid to churches for some pastors to spend and that the purpose of it is to help those in need. This is time to prove you actually meant this by paying an equivalent of what your tithe should be for this month not to a church but to save a young guy's life. FOR MUSLIMS: I also want to implore you as well to pay what you call 'Zakat' to help a guy in pain. What pains me most here is what that young lady who was expecting a blissful marriage life on her wedding day has been going through for the past 3 years. The emotional, physical, psychological torture. Every bride at least enjoy the early years of the wedding but this lady must have been crying for the past 3 years. Her husband can not even sleep with her talkless of showering her with those things new iyawos deserve. I do not know these people, i only read about this here in Nairaland earlier today and i have not been able to take my mind off it. Please let us show compassion and be our brother's keeper and exemplify Christ life by giving priority to this. Christ came but to SAVE. The story is here https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-185289.0.html. Thanks and God bless you all |

landis:Yes i have and i have residence permit but they dont have embassy here |
Angolobabe:Like if she's having a party she should not invite them simply because they are married? Angolobabe:So she should write off all her friends because they are furtunate enough to have been married while she is 'unfurtunate' to be unmarried. Or so that he will not sleep around with them? As if my being there/not being there will prevent him from being promiscous if he is a dog! Angolobabe:Really? The wife must be a very insecured wife. I wonder if she can ever allow her husband travel alone on holiday or business then. Angolobabe:How is she destroying a home? because she invited her friends who are married to her party? Kai i wonder o. Angolobabe:What feeling please? Did she state in her IV that wives are not invited to the party? Angolobabe:I am married for 9 years now and my husband has female and male friends both married and unmarried just as i have male friends both married and unmarried although most of them are married now. So we should have disowned our single friends on our wedding day and when they get married we apply to be their friends again? My marriage does not lack security a bit so we are both free to enjoy our lives in a Godly way and marriage to us is not a boundage which should now change our lives miserably. No wonder some people are so afraid of marriage and see it as a boundage sort of. Uju let your conscience judge you but don't DISOWN your married friends o because when you are married and want them back they may not be available to be your friends again and if you know how important good friends are! |
Fhemmmy:I support this and would be too glad to see it happen. |
shagry1:No i am not a citizen of Ireland, i am 100% Nigerian. All i want is a 2 weeks holiday visa. |
wavemasta:lol. Thanks a lot for the quick response, I will do just that but then how does it work? How will the hotel apply for visa for me in Dubai while i am in Ireland, will they just get the visa on a paper and send to me? please can u explain more? Thanks |
I have tried google to no avail to get information about obtaining visiting visa to Dubai. Pls can anyone who has an idea of how and where a Nigerian residing in Europe can obtain a two weeks visiting visa to Dubai. I intend to spend my last holiday for this year in Dubai, just two weeks in December. I will appreciate anyone who can help on this asap as i need to book my holiday and ticket in good time. 10q. |
This is so real, some countries already withdrew all infant formulars from China from their stores but who cares in Nigeria? I hope people will pass this message to as many ppl possible so people will be aware of it and play safe. |
Love (though important) alone is not enough. |
@ poster I think that person is you.
Does it matter? |
Blackcat:Why? Even if they deserve it? |
ladydom:Gosh! why cant people take time to read post before hitting the keyboard? |
Depends on what expensive/cheap means to you. For postgraduate courses its between €10 and €12k and you have to pay all at once before you can get the visa. The educational system as far as i am concerned is fantastic. Life generally is good, again depends on your judgement of a good life, its a small, quiet and peaceful country and their economy is still sound despite the world finacial palava. The budget was only read yesterday and from all indications its still a very fair economy. Good luck in your decision. |
ZuluNation:rotflmao!!!!!!!!!! |
Ujujoan:why? |
What's the big deal in having married friends when you are not married? They were once single, you are going to be married someday as well. I dont see any big deal in it at all. My husband has some single ladies as friends and i used to have lots of unmarried friends until one by one they all got married and the friendship continues. No big deal if its all platonic jare. |
Why does the topic says 'she feels guilty'? as i cant see any sign of such feeling from this story. Its not a good idea for her to confess to him- some of these oyinbo guys cant handle some things, what if he kills her or do someting fatal? considr the poor kids. No need to confess but to change her shameless and stupid behaviour or divorce the man afterall he divorced his wife to be with a youngie so no sin if she also divorce him for a youngie, what goes around ---- The old man left his wife who gave him 3 kids all because he wants to be with a youngie? He definitely deserves more than heartache, agbaya. |
This is a common trend now and it is as a result of the following. 1. High infertile rate among women. 2. High immorality rate. 3. The cheating factor. The truth is that some ladies have had abortions or taking some dangerous drugs during their hay days and as a result lost fertility. So you now see why some men and their families can not go through that ordeal of no child. I do not support it in any form.
If a lady has been sleeping with a guy for say one year without any form of PROTECTION and she never missed her period, if the guy is not very sure of what type of person she was in the past and he wasnt the first person, what do u expect especially if she opened her legs for him as soon as he said 'hi'. The guy is bound to have some fear with the high rate of immorality today where ppl now believes having sex is no big deal. I mean if you can have sex b4 marriage why cant u get belle before marriage sin is sin. So keep yourself pure or be ready to grant the guy's request. |
Any idea/suggestion of any schools in Ogun State? Thanks |
nalijah stop bothering yourself! polygamy is not a taboo in Nigeria ok? A man can have a wife in Ogun state, another in Osun, another in Abuja and the women might be fine with. Abubakar an ex vice president in Nigeria promised his wife he would not marry any other woman except her and ended up breaking the promise. Now, he did not travel to America to go and marry another wife he did right under his wife's nose, she did not divorce him. Now, some men would quickly pack their bags and return home instead of having to marry another wife for whatever reason, so it depends. So kool down baby girl and bother yourself no more. |
sombi:What is not ordinary in a man lusting after another woman? Then all married men commiting adultery are charmed, lol Well, i hope this guy has straightened his steps and has been able to overcome this adultrous act, the post is 3 years old. |
