Christians Burnt Alive in India; A Crucifixion Parade Swami Laxmananda Saraswat was a senior leader in the VHP, a movement organized in 1964 to organize and preserve the Hindu world from Communism, Islam and Christianity. In 1992 they demolished the Babri Mosque. Muslim mobs rioted and over 900 people were killed across the country. In 2002 there were more riots and some 2000 were killed in what came to be called the Gujarat violence. Mobs attacked Christians in December 2007, burning shops and churches forcing 700 Indian Christians to flee. On August 23, the Swami and four associates were found murdered in their monastery. The police suspected the Communists Maoists who later took responsibility for the murder. In a horrifying display of week-long violence in Orissa, believing the Christians were to blame mobs went on a horrifying rampage of murder and arson, a "religious cleansing" as it were. 26 people killed in week-long violence in Orissa although the real death toll may be as close to 100 as more butchered bodies are found. Some 4000 Christian homes, churches and convents were burned by Hindu fanatics. One twenty-year old Christian girl Rajini escaped from the flames only to be tied up and thrown back in the fire. One pregnant woman who refused to denounce her faith in Christ was cut into pieces before her husband and other Christians. A Catholic nun was burnt alive and another nun was gang-raped by Hindu fundamentalists. One priest who escaped describes his ordeal They had poured kerosene on my head, and one held a matchbox in his hands to light the fire. But thanks to divine providence, in the end, they did not do that. Otherwise, I would not have been there to tell this horror," -- "They vandalized everything and set it on fire. It has been reduced to ashes," he added. -- "They began our crucifixion parade," said Father Chellen. The gang of about 50 armed Hindus "beat us up and led us like culprits along the road" to the burned pastoral center. "There they tore my shirt and started pulling off the clothes of the nun. When I protested, they beat me hard with iron rods. Later, they took the sister inside (and) raped her while they went on kicking and teasing me, forcing (me) to say vulgar words," said the priest who has cuts, bruises and swollen tissue all over his body and stitches on his face. "Later both of us, half-naked, were taken to the street, and they ordered me to have sex with the nun in public, saying nuns and priests do it. As I refused, they went on beating me and dragged us to the nearby government office. Sadly, a dozen policemen were watching all this," he said. Angry at his plea to the police for help, the mob beat the bleeding priest again. Today, there is an almost complete collapse of the police force and the Orissa violence forces 60,000 Christians to take refuge in the forests. The blog Orissa Burning is keeping witness to the ongoing torture and murder of Christians in Orissa and doing a fine job of keeping us informed. What is at the bottom of all this outrage against Christians? An Indian archbishop says the Christians' offense is fighting against slavery - the work that Christians in Orissa are carrying out on behalf of the tribals and the Dalits, at the very bottom of the caste system: "Before, they were like slaves. Now, some of them study in our schools, start businesses in the villages, demand their rights. And those who – even in the India of the economic boom – want to keep intact the old division into castes are afraid that they will gain too much power. Orissa today is a laboratory. What is at stake is the future of millions of Dalits and tribals living all over the country." http://www.estatevaults.com/lm/archives/2008/09/ |
In analyzing situation and events, I always try to be as objective as possible. This is not just about the news that was aired, but rather on several confidential stories that Channels TV had aired in past times. This very unfortunate and it shows the level of civilization in the country called Nigeria. This is definitely not the first time a media house will be shut by the so called SSS (state suppressing service). A magazine company was invaded last month by SSS just because a story was published about Yar a dua’s wife, Turaya (abi wetin den they call am?) and the staffs of the company were beaten seriously. Are we still in the military era where we cannot speak freely? Although, I feel channels TV should have confirmed the news, but from who? The information was gotten from a supposed reliable source, so why do they have to confirm? If channels could be sanctioned for airing false news, then what is the information minister still doing in the cabinet if he could lie to the whole world that your president went for lesser Hajj in the hospital?Nigeria is a crap and very annoying. Simple. Go to Nigerian embassy in Germany, pick up an application form for Nigerian visa, submit it with all the documents required (these are stated in d application form), submit it with the visa fee. Simple as that. |
In the country where i live it is not a waste of money, you simply have to have everything insured, its compulsory. Like you cant get a mortgage without having an insurance company to insure you and if your car is not insured and you are caught you will be punished for it. Has all the advantages you can think of but how it works in African countries i do not know. My friend's car was stolen and she was given a car to drive for 10 days the next day and within the 10 days his cheque was ready, the cost of the car. On the other hand my neigbour back home had his car stolen at gun point in January and the claim was still being processed as at the last time i spoke to him a month ago, so it depends. |
@ poster why do u bother yourself with what you consider another person's problem? Has anyone complained to you or what exactly is d pain in yr a*s over dis? |
JustGood:Its all about women, it doesnt matter when men 'do what they like and get away with it' JustGood:In most cases women are blamed my friend, no one begs a man to stay married to his wife because of the children when the woman is becoming unbearable but everyone begs a frustrated woman to stay put in marriage because of the children. When there is no children in marriage everyone thinks the woman is responsible. How many men do you see going from one revival to the other, from one church to the other because of 'fruit of the womb? check out the number of women during special prayers for those looking for children. The truth which might be bitter to accept is an African woman will have to at one time or the other take shit to make the marriage work anyone who is not ready to do that at times is not ready for a marriage. Think of how you will feel if you meet a married woman in an hotel with another man and think of what you will feel if you meet a married man in an hotel with another woman, the woman is to be beheaded straight away while the man is expected to come up with reasons and the wife is expected to forgive and embrace him and also to thank God that at least he came back home, she is also expected to make sure she does everything to make sure the husband does not look outside. JustGood:I am married and happily for that matter but the fact is there are lots of differences in our culture and those of these guys and our culture, even the bible, gives men more liberty. There is no need denying some facts about our culture's influence on some aspects of our lives, just as their own cultures have impact in their lives as well. Our own culture of submitting to our husbands and taking some 'shits' has helped us in lots of ways while their own cultures has also helped them in lots of ways eg high number of ![]() |

Landis, let me tell you exactly what happened one day when one of my babies was sick at midnight, that was in another man's country where i live (actually not yet allowed to stay then still waiting to be allowed). My baby did not sleep all night and his breathing was somehow not normal, i was new in this country then i didnt know exactly how it works but i knew i could call an ambulance. Early in the morning i called and ambulance and explained his situation, within few minutes an ambulance arrived and we were taken to the hospital. While inside the ambulance my baby was being attended to and when we got to the hospital two nurses were at the enterance of the hospital, they both took them from me (my kids are twins, only one was sick). They treated me like 'sorry u've not slept all night'. I was looking in amazement wondering how come they were so kind when they dont even know me. They asked me to explain what his situation was and i did, one of the nurses was playing with the other twin who was not sick and the doctor was attending to sick one, before you could say jack i placed my head on a table and slept off. I woke up about an hour later and saw my kid (the one that was not sick) with a nurse playing with him, i noticed his cloth has been changed to a new one and asked what happened the nurse told me with a smile on his face that my baby got sick (threw up) on his cloth so they had to change him and that the sick one 'is over there' on the bed responding to treatment, another male nurse came and said 'mum will you like some toast and tea', i was wondering if i heard him right and he repeated it then i said yes and before i knew it he appeared with a tray that has 4 slices of toast and a cup of tea. I was actually wondering if i was going to wake up to find that i was dreaming, but then it wasnt a dream it was real. We were later discharged and a taxi was called to take us home, a nurse accompnied us because i had two little babies!. Now i am not a citizen of this country (though ny kids are but the treatment wont be different even if they are not). Now this is a government hospital, Now the governent pays the bill because i was not working then. Now read these two instances and compare and see how great Nigeria is. Who says i should not be a patriotic Nigerian? ![]() |
Nigeria is a county of the rich by the rich and for the rich. You would have enough story if you spend one day visiting these 'govamenti' hospitals, you will be tempted to pack your things out of that country. Death is nothing to those nurses at all, i think they are happy when people die hence they try as much as possible to make it happen. Sad indeed. but what can the poor do? |
Its great to know that there are so many virgins in nairaland who never ever opened their legs for their boyfriends. Obviously only this girl has ever had sex outside marriage. And its great to know that people don't get married with pregnancy. Hunnnnnnnn as long as you have pregnancy aborted several times and marry with a flat tummy you are the good girl. The guy who promised a girl heaven and earth, took her to his parents and probably proposed marriage to her, enjoy her and now came up with this madness has no sin, only the girl should be beheaded for having sex outside marriage, guys should go on doing it. Poster, sorry o i have no advise, don't know what to advise you just follow your heart, better still talk to your family members you can confide in for better advise. What goes around will definitely come around |
I wonder why some people remain married and leave miserable lives all in the name of 'for the sake of the kids'. Its good to have it working but if despite all effort it doesnt work why cant people amicably stay on their own and take care of the children irrespective of who they stay with? I witnessed a display of madness recently and cant stop wondering why ppl cant think with their heads and do away with this african rubbish that says for the sake of the kids stay married at all cost. I was ashamed to be present when a dispute was being settled for this couple when the husband was threatening to beat the hell out of his wife calling her 'ome ale' (bastard) and all that. This is a quiet and responsible lady, certified chattered accountant with good job and yet every little dispute the man pounces on her and then because of the kids and because her parents will frown at such she will never consider separation. Good luck to those who stay put despite the absence of love but think with your head, when you die of HB pressure life continues. |
