Maybe because of the Spec of the System you need to have. Disembark: |
My fellow Big Man, the only relevant data you have posted is the "Resources - Low". Remove that CGPA from your mind. Where you need to go now depends a lot on that "Resources - Low". I will advise you to pick something in tech and give it a try, you will need a laptop ( it doesn't have to be the best, you can prioritize battery life over other specs) and a regular data subscription. A lot of things are not as we'd wish them to be, so it will be in your best interests to look within and see if you already have some skills that you are underestimating its value or you are currently doing for free, monetize and use it to invest in the skill you want to acquire. If you have relatives you can still "story", story them and get those resources you need. In whatever path you decide ultimately to try, remember that failing, is merely confirmation that the idea you tried did not work, try another. ankiboy: |
Bekermann:Pareto's distribution - To those that have more, more will be given. I also doubt that tech Jobs will be oversaturated, for tasks that involve getting something basic done, sure. There will always be a demand for niche skills and unlikely combinations of stacks. |
pocohantas:Thank you for the motivation. I am quite proud to have broken that cycle. I’ve been full time on upwork so far for about 1 year. It’s been an amazing ride for my confidence and self so far. So I agree it is possible despite the reputation that fraud brings to Nigeria and our governments inadequacies. |
I am not honestly sure these are the reasons. I also cannot preach about what method others use to break the cycle of getting rejected. But if you check freelancers by country, you see our fellow country men charging $3 to $100 per hour and they have jobs on their profile to prove they are being hired. LienwaltAbel: |

Nodejs is not JS? JS = Language i.e python, c#, c, ruby Nodejs = Runtime engine i.e jre, deno Both of you know what you are talking about, why are you arguing about the english. Playermayweda: |
Depends. C# Blazor. Python has brython Rust Tauri But why would you not want to use JS for the frontend? stephinnoyewole: |
@op If you are just starting, I'd advise you to not be bogged down into wanting to learn the best language or whatnot. Your mind at this stage just needs to take in the concepts and understand programming problem-solving. You'll most likely learn and use multiple languages over the course of your programming experience. Don't let someone else's flavour of code make you feel like another language is not good enough. Personally, I'd go with Python because I feel like it reads like English and curly braces are annoying sometimes. I will also suggest looking at Javascript/Typescript/Node is not also a bad choice as it is close to the web and the knowledge you gain can easily translate to the frontend. I've not used Php before, but Php devs will swear by it. Learn anyone, the main thing here is that you learn. And don't let anyone delude you to the fact that there is no market for it in Nigeria. Why are you limiting yourself to Nigeria? People from the weirdest places even, need your services, crazy fact is that the only job I've ever gotten in Nigeria was an unpaid internship and several rubbish interview experiences. |
To be honest @OP, the drug abuse wave is not choosy of the tribe that it has found its abode. In my opinion, it is purely driven by profits. You may observe the phenomenon better in your environment, but to be honest, it's everywhere and it will get worse. Why? Profits. As far back as 2016 (https://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/meth-super-lab-raided-nigeria-4-mexicans-arrested-n538496) Mexicans have already been arrested trying to cook the stuff in Lagos. It used to be expensive, hence you had to be super hooked or rich to come in contact with it. This has evolved with more labs and more quantity. You can buy 1 gram of (ICE) for about 1k-3k in Ogun state now. I suspect that and inflation is what is moving boys from Agege to wait on major bus stops *begging*/harassing individuals. It's not something that is stuck to your region only. It's a serious national problem that we are failing at woefully. TM, both 100mg and 225(Tomato), Royphnol, Diazepam are being sold all around us in Lagos/Ogun/Kaduna by Hausa peddlers that have a small kiosk where they sell medicine, they are the frontmen in charge of this trade. Weed and different strains of cannabis selling gangs are not restricted by the tribe to get supply, unlike TM, Rev and Diaza, to start that up you mostly just need to know where to get supply from(Idioro, Alaka, Agege). I suspect Molly / Ecstasy / Heroin and Cocaine will be from those places too but waka never carry me to try those, so that's speculation on my part. Codine was in rave before, the cost per bottle/scarcity has discouraged consumers. So @OP, it's the one that afflicts you that you see. It is already a national problem. PS. Sorry if you find it offensive that I wrote that a tribe was responsible for a section of the illicit trade, it is merely a practical experience on my part that since 2013, I have only interacted with them when attempting to buy TM/REV every time, in 3 different states with the same Modus Operandi, it is not a coincidence that it is organized crime. |
Just 3 weeks? Mine has been in the Kaduna immigration office since beginning of August. First they said it was Hajj they were prioritizing booklets for, then story story till now. Ay at Kaduna office you are mad o. I'm tempted to say it has misplaced so I can just goto Abuja and get another because I'm already tired, I sometimes even forget I have a passport sef. DrJossy: |
And yes, python is very very versatile. But sometimes it does the job poorly or with much difficulty. |
Everyone will swear by their own stack. But it really depends on what you want. But my own take is that you learn JavaScript. I don't know JS myself and I hate the fact. But JS Object oriented programming (oop) makes it easier to learn other C style languages easily. I love python personally and I always seek a python first approach to solving clients issues. But learning python first? It's syntax makes it harder to learn other languages rapidly. But that's my own brain sha. Js or python your fine. If your preference to pick python is because of data analytics and ML/AI. I'm very sure most popular libraries will support JS so don't worry. |
I'm in Black Gold camp. The Corps member was shown to us today. Alive, telling his side of the story to us. The State coordinator was around yesterday on SAED inspection, and was on ground when the incident happened. She addressed the issue. Calling a meeting between the camp management and Otondos, to avoid mob action and rumor carriers. Please don't assume. Sir/Ma, they do not have any right to abuse anyone. Inside or outside the camp. But you know our country sha. DaddyNimo: |

After clicking submit, the page does not ask me to log in again, it just simply stays on that same page with all the data i entered removed. When starting the link ends with something like ?lnk=register after clicking submit for the first time it goes to a register . php page that essentially the same with the ?lnk=register page. it does not ask me to login again, just a blank page to fill in the data again. i have tried like 20 times. I sent you a whatsapp message sha Xforce: |
Hello Thread, has anyone been able to successfully complete the OAU post-utme process? After filling in the required information and uploading the scans, upon submission the page just simply refresh. I have tried several times, I called the support numbers and I was told to send my reg number by text. That I have done still no change. Has anyone been able to print the post utme confirmation? Thank you |
Against an aggressive and expansionist Russia? I read one of your earlier post about Russia not allowing America topple governments. Like I said, their imperialism is fading, the myth they can fix/police the world, I think they are waking up to their own "almost certain implosion". With Hilary, your getting corporate corruption still, freedom and less segregation. Did you watch Trump's 3rd debate, the nigga cannot connect with anyone that isn't crazy. At least politically tho. movmentish: |
As Nigerian as Amala , Trump is even worse news for the world. I have not dug my bunker for WWIII yet . At least she knows what she's doing. And Hilary isnt bad news for the world, although her foreign policy is shit. The world is moving from the previous state of American imperialism/policing, with tech and media contributing heavily. If Trump wins, I might be very surprised. movmentish: |
A Trump one might be a bigger disaster. movmentish: |

Thinking of starting one, got a shop free for a year. I currently have an Xbox 360 and and PS3 . Hoping to buy a ps4 and a ps2 to compliment . helpful thread, with minimal police interference, a game center can be a great SME. |
