At least you now know the schools that offer your course, their requirements and when their application starts! Mark it on your calendar.

Good day gurus in the house..pls would need you guys to help me out in this, i am about applying for masters in geology but for summer batch..but going through uni-assist I noticed that virtually all schools have not started summer admission(from what I noticed ,but I stand corrected on this ), so am asking when does most schools start summer admission? So I could start applying on time..am kinda new house..thanks

Most schools start receiving applications from November.

My advice

Use daad.de, search for schools that offer your course, check their requirements and see if you meet them (don't lie to your self, rejection is real), check the exact date application begins and when it closes and work towards the dates for each school.

Don't stay away from Uniassist because of the fees, except you confident of getting admission from "non-assist" schools.

Apply to good number of schools

Early admission is key!

You most likely booked a wrong interview... Probably a certification interview.. Check again.. Make sure you cancel it!

Kindly send your full name, place of residence and attach your admission letter, confirmation of account blocking and international passport to this mail student@lago.diplo.de. do it as soon as possible because you don't have time to waste anymore. Use student visa appointment as the subject of the mail.

I applied for the visa interview on the 13th of June 2018 and got a reply on 19th of June (after 6 days of applying) with my Abuja address (Which is the same address on my admission letter). i got a date for 4th of July 2018 for 10:30am

I Arrived the embassy at about 10:15
Arranged my document at the entrance before stepping in to Almighty Counter 1
Interviewer --Hand me your documents please
Interviewer-- Hand me the originals and the passport
Interviewer--(checks if my application form is properly filled) Opens a file and attached my documents

Interviewer--Have you founded your account?
Answer--Not yet but i have the naira equivalent in my account and i have already started processing it
Interviewer--(brings four documents for me to sign, which is a declaration that i will fund and send via a provided email, otherwise application will not b e processed(

I jejely signed everything.

Interviewer-- Let me have ur visa fee
I handed the money, she kept asking about my work experience and all, typing as we talked. ( In my tiny head, i was already feeling good, is this the interview? so am done like this like this....Until the big question landed)

Interviewer--Do you want your interview in German or English
Me-- ( My own has finished ) 40 minutes gone and we are just getting started

Interviewer--Why this Course
Interviewer--Why Germany, why not US or any other English speaking country?
Interviewer--What do u know about Germany? Politically, economically and her people
Interviewer--What do you Intend to do after graduation
Interviewer--Tell me about your school, discuss the modules of your intended course

As i answered, she typed word to word. i was practically dictating.
Long story Short, she collected my passport, handed me my receipt and said ..........I wish you good luck.

Caution, she has zero tolerance for slow people, u have be prompt in everything.

not true two of my friends got abuja for interview and their admission letter has Ibadan address so its not about your admission letter address but make sure you have verifiable abuja address and u should also use that for your motivation letter simple

It actually has no effect since it's a first come, first serve booking system. So if you apply, you get the earliest available booking slot, with the exception of the Sept 20th slot which was allocated to others having been skipped before.

Normally, those booking for appointment with Abuja address get dates about 2 weeks away, unlike Lagos which you get dates 2-3 months away

Most times they don't reply to incorrect mails. You should request an acceptance letter from your school to use and pursue visa. If the acceptance letter doesn't carry a Lagos address, it'll be easier to book for Abuja appointment.

Is there a special way to book for Abuja appointment? Or if you have an Abuja Address on your acceptance letter, you automatically get an Abuja interview date.

via their online portal. See eh, the application process for Global Change Ecology is quite different from other courses. they have their own portal.
its not the same portal that i used for applying to Environmental Chemistry.
For Global change Ecology, i did not send anything to the school, just did the online application, interview and admission dropped.

first came in contact with this thread in mid 2017. I decided to apply for summer but couldnt find any course related to my undergraduate program. I then decided to apply for Biomedical engineering.

GBAM!!! I was given a capital rejection letter by January 2018. I decided to chill first since I was waiting for IELTS result which I wrote on 6/1/2018. IELTS came out, made 7.0... This encouraged me to applying for winter. This time arround, there were serveral courses of my choice. Applied for 4 programs in H-BRS, uni Bonn, Uni ULM and Jena. got admitted into H-BRS and was rejected by uni Bonn amd ULM. Still waiting for jena up till this moment.


Fast forward to my interview 18/05/2018:

had a 2-day journey prior to my interview. lodged at a hotel inside bonny Cantonment.

Got to the embassy around past 6am, those passport guys tried to persuade me into taking anoda set of passport photograhs but I adamant in my refusal to change my mind not knowing I was not carrying the right passport spec. Mind you, I tried opening the link to the passport spec several times but to little or no avail, the network was always messing me up. I asked here about the spec and I got a reply "35 by 45". I didnt know my face was suppose to cover about 80% of the passport.

Few minutes befor 7am, mr paulinus arrived, called out to those of us for student visa. We were about 3 at that time so he decided to attend to the 3 of us.

He gave instruction to the first guy, came to me and shouted, "did I ask you to stand there? I will chase u out of this place"

For my mind I don enter.. Then I adjust.
He took my application forms and my appointment email printout (placed inside my international passport) and placed them on 3 chairs without saying a word to me. He went to the first guy again, asked for declaration accordin to page 54 blah blah blah, the guy brought them out and placed on the already arranged app forms.
I brought out the declaration forms, trying to arrange them when He came shouting at me " I told you befor, original here, photocopy here, my friend leave this place". For my mind, I say I don die... Chai!!!
Na him I waka like confused person go back ooo....

After every every, I scaled through and went inside then I realised that my passport was not of the right spec. This time, see sweat for my body. I come be like who nor well. The guy next to me tried to calm me down after I told him about the passport foto issue but I pray ooo, I was still disturbed.

Finally I wad called into room 4 where I was interviewed by a young Nigerian lady.

VO: Goodmorning

Me: Goodmorning ma (my situation humble me finish)

VO: let me ve ur original documents. And the photocopies.

V.O : Masters or Bsc

Me: Masters ma

V.O: ve u funded

Me: yes ma

VO: ve you learnt the language?

Me: I am learning through youtube and
google translator ( stammering)

VO: what school?

Me : Hochschule Bonn Rhein sieg (pronounced the Hochshule like a proper nigerian)

She looked at me and said " and you said you have been learning the language? Dont worry, let me get it from your admission letter.

Which course did you get admitted into? What did you study in Nigeria and grade on German scale?

You should get a response in about a month. Apply at the studentwerk for accommodation in order to be on the waiting list. What was your evaluation?
