gp6liveth: [size=8pt][b] 4 Things That Are Wrong With Buhari's Statement of Result
Maj-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari - the APC Presidential candidate has finally released his "WASC Result" (after many weeks of lies, allegation and counter-allegation) as demanded by the Nigerian Constitution and Electoral laws from candidates that want to contest elective positions in the country.
For the sake of clarity, there is a big difference between Statement of Result and Certificate. Statement of Result is issued to a WAEC Candidate by the School s/he took the examination pending the time WAEC would release the main certificate. This is usually few years or so after the examination was taken. And once the certificate is released, the statement becomes invalid.
Buhari claims that he wrote the exam in 1961, so WAEC must have awarded him the certificate which supersedes this Statement of Result he released.
Mere looking at the Statement of Result, you will notice the following:
1. WAEC Format: The format in this Statement of Result was not the format used in the 1960s when Buhari wrote the exam. For instance, there was nothing like SSCE, WASSCE, NECO, May/June in 1960s as seen in the result. What they had then was WASC (West African School Certificate) which was established in 1952. Passport photography is not attached on the Statement of Result. WAEC started attaching passport photography on the certificate in the year 2000.
2. Name: Buhari's name is Muhammadu Buhari, but the result bears Mohammed Buhari. Though, Muhammdu is sometimes spelt as Mohammed, but when it comes certificate documentation, consistency is the watchword. Someone that bears Anthony Buhari cannot lay claim of a certificate that bears Tony Buhari. It is not possible unless a change of name is done. Did Buhari do a change of name? Any proof to that? Besides, his letter seeking to writing RNA qualifying exam dated 18th October, 1961 bears Muhammadu Buhari, how come his statement of result bears a different name?
3. The State the exam was taken: There was nothing like Katsina State in 1961. Katsina was created in 1987 and Buhari took his exam in 1961. How come the result is bearing Ministry of education, Katsina State?
4. Date Issued and Picture: Exam that was taken in 1961, the result is carrying date of 21st January, 2015 and Buhari’s recent picture. How come? Did the school just issue him the Statement of Result after over 5 decades he claims he wrote the exam? If they did, how come they made it to look so old? By the way, there is no need to issue him a statement, since WAEC is there to issue a certificate which supersedes the Statement of Result.
Conclusion: Buhari doesn’t need a Statement of Result “cooked up” by an named Principal of a secondary school. A statement of result is given when WAEC is yet to release the CERTIFICTAE. Buhari’s WAEC certificate of 1961 had already been released long ago if he actually took the exam. So, Buhari should proceed to WAEC for certificate verification since he knows his examination number. Only he can do this since WAEC doesn’t release someone’s result to a third party.
Enough of these lies!!! It's a pity someone wasted money that would have better served as fish food to send you to school. Answers to your question 1) There was no SSCE or NECO in 1961, but the result was printed in 2015, you don't expect the ministry or the school to have the 1961 format. The picture was attached because that is what is obtained now, if you go to WAEC for a copy of a pre 2000 result, they would attach a picture to it. 2)I have the short form of my name on my waec certificate and lots of people have their nick names there. Go to waec office and see the number of people trying to correct there name. Even my surname was misspelled on my waec certificate. 3) This question is so dumb i'm tempted to believe you have a negative IQ. 4) WAEC issues certificate only once, if you are as smart as you are trying to appear, you would have known that. The date (21/15/2015) is the date that this copy was released to who ever asked for it. |

D9ty7: My question now is, did the letter confirm Buhari as a graduating student? We all know what the quota system did back then. So what's the confirmation all about? I don't know what the letter says but proving that Buhari is educated to a level equivalent to SSCE shouldn't be something difficult for a lawyer who knows his onions. |
Politics › Re: Buhari Should Be Charged With Perjury And Stripped Of His Ranks by AZeD1(m): 7:35pm On Jan 20, 2015 |
CoCoLav: Now you are trying to get off on mere technicalities. If you say you have been educated up to a certain level, there must be documentary evidence in court to support it and it is for this reason that certificates are issued by institutions.
Anyone could orally claim they have been educated up to a certain level.
The courts won't accept oral evidence that you are married unless you show a marriage certificate. Same will apply here. A letter from the school that says Buhari attended the school of enough proof that he is educated up to school certificate level. |
Politics › Re: Buhari Should Be Charged With Perjury And Stripped Of His Ranks by AZeD1(m): 6:07pm On Jan 20, 2015 |
INEC or the courts can't disqualify Buhari because the electoral law says
" he has been educated up to at least the School Certificate level or its equivalent;"
Note that 1)It says a contestant should have been educated to school certificate level (keyword level) which is totally different from saying you must have a school certificate. 2)The other part says "or its equivalent"......Buhari's military training would cover that. |
Politics › Re: Why Hasn't The Price Of Diesel Fallen? by AZeD1(m): 2:12pm On Jan 19, 2015 |
HNosegbe: Agreed. However my call is for transparency on the part of the government. The Petroleum minister and the PPPRA need to tell us why the fall in crude prices have not reflected in diesel prices if they claim they have deregulated diesel. Or else one may be forced to align with Demdem's point of view. Demdem is right. |
Politics › Re: Why Hasn't The Price Of Diesel Fallen? by AZeD1(m): 1:43pm On Jan 19, 2015 |
HNosegbe: Exactly. The diesel market should show us the effects of a fully deregulated market. With the fall in crude oil prices the diesel price should go down too. This should be the case in a fully deregulated market unless it dominated by a carter as Demdem asserts. This raises another question: if the government can't show us the fruits of deregulation of diesel, on what basis can the government justify full deregulation of petrol?
More questions than answers. In theory, deregulation should for the price down, but in Nigeria, due to a lack of strong institutions, anything goes. Its the reason why i don't have faith in the privatization programs of the government. |

Politics › Re: Why Hasn't The Price Of Diesel Fallen? by AZeD1(m): 12:30pm On Jan 19, 2015 |
HNosegbe: I'm raising this topic in light of the announced reduction in petrol pump price by the Federal Government. We were made to understand that the price of diesel is around N150-N170 per litre is due to the fact that subsidy was removed completely during the Obasanjo era. Now what this should mean, in practice, is that the final pump price would vary with the price of crude oil. We have consistently had high diesel prices due to the high prices of crude oil.
So the important question is this: Since crude oil prices have been falling since around October 2014 (from a high of $115/bbl to around $47/bbl now) and the diesel market is fully deregulated, why has the retail price of diesel not fallen in line with the falling crude prices? Aren't the prices of products determined (in part, at least) by the cost of the key raw materials utilized in the production of such products?
We need answers. During the 2012 subsidy protest, some GEJ supporters argued that if PMS was fully deregulated, then competition would force the price down. I told them to look at the diesel and kerosine market. |

Politics › Re: (Boko haram )PART 2 Of How I Engage With APC Supporters & Win Them Over Offline. by AZeD1(m): 9:37am On Jan 19, 2015 |
Terrorist attacked America, the Americans invaded a country. Terrorist attacked Nigeria, the president went campaigning the next day. Terrorist kidnapped over 200 girls, took the President over a week to acknowledge the incident.
To your second point. The president and his goons have accused the opposition without proof that they are behind Boko Haram and you still expect them to help the president? Are you 3 years old? The president uses machinery of the state (sss and military) to harass the opposition and you expect them to help you?
He who comes to equity must do so with clean hands.
