Good.

So from the list of Acceptable Qualifications Criteria, Mr. Buhari elected to choose (a) as his preferred qualification.

The onus is now on him to proof the is qualified on the basis of that option. It is not INEC's duty to make this decision for him or proof that he is qualified on the basis he chose. That's Mr. Buhari's job.

Rather than Mr. Buhari to show this evidence, he is prevaricating. And you think he has nothing to hide in that regard?

The INEC Application Form asked the contestant to submit copies of Credential.

If it weren't the case, then we could excuse Mr. Buhari. Fortunately for us, that's the case, else contestants will make bogus claims (like Buhari is doing) and get away with little or no scrutiny. So Buhari's failure to attached the required credential, and instead resort to use of Affidavit is fraud.

Why use affidavit claiming your certificate is with the military, when you can simply retrieve it from them and submit same? The only reason he's doing that is to cover up fraud!
This is what the law says(pay special attention to C and D.

"School Certificate or its equivalent" means

(a) a Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent, or Grade II Teacher’s Certificate, the City and Guilds Certificate; or

(b) education up to Secondary School Certificate level; or

(c) Primary Six School Leaving Certificate or its equivalent and -

(i) service in the public or private sector in the Federation in any capacity acceptable to the Independent National Electoral Commission for a minimum of ten years, and

(ii) attendance at courses and training in such institutions as may be acceptable to the Independent National Electoral Commission for periods totalling up to a minimum of one year, and

(iii) the ability to read, write, understand and communicate in the English language to the satisfaction of the Independent National Electoral Commission, and

(d) any other qualification acceptable by the Independent National Electoral Commission;"

That's the election law.

If it's not required, you haven't done anything wrong.

But if it is, and you failed to submit it, lie about, and use tax-payer funds to hire lawyers to frustrate every attempt to get to the root of it, while at the same time masquerading as a man of Integrity, then something is fundamentally wrong.

Bros, it's one of the thing wrong with Buhari's administration. He cheated on his way to the the top, and can't face his past.

Buhari is a fraud!
I have looked at the election law and it says nothing about submitting certificates. There law allows INEC to accept anything it deems fit as proof of education. There's also a clause that states "the applicant can read and write English to the satisfaction of INEC".

I agree with you that Buhari is a fraud but not on this issue of certificates.

I don't think you are fully right here though I stand to be corrected. Those babies born there have dual citizenship, Nigeria and US, and it will now be their choice to claim any of the citizenship for their gain if they started working. Say they grew up and started working in Nigeria, don't expect them to pay 30% tax to the US for also being US citizen, they can simply work in Nigeria and claim their Nigerian citizenship without any obligation to the US.

Just like footballers, Dele Ali, David Alaba and co, they have dual citizenship, but they all chose to claim the citizenship of choice which are UK and Austria and they totally owe Nigeria no business even if for example say Nigeria receives tax from their citizens working abroad like the US.

It's all about diplomacy and choice when you have dual citizenship.
Citizenship by birth is not a choice. The US is the only country I know of that requires it's citizens working outside the country to pay tax so any child born in the US would have to pay taxes to the US irrespective of where they work and reside unless they renounce their US citizenship.

I really support Trump on this one. It's a big cheat how people come to America give birth and get automatic citizenship. This is America for Christ sake. Come here and see how Mexicans who are unauthorized just wall and come here to have babies. I have argued with some people here that how does immigration make those kids citizens and their parents are illegal. But I still don't believe my friends. If you want my citizenship, earn it the right way by marriage or investment. Those come hard but try to earn it.
What's the difference between Citizenship by birth and marriage? Have you not seen Nigerian guys that marry old white women just to get papers?

What's the difference between that and getting a visitor's visa to giving birth in the US?

Most people here don't realize that unless that child stays in the US, the citizenship is a burden. I know folks who came back to Nigeria to work and are required by law to pay taxes in Nigeria and the US. After a while, they return because they end up owing so much in US taxes.

What's the corruption there? The law gives INEC the right to accept what it likes. Until that law is changed, you are disturbing yourself.

PS: It would be nice to know the corruption in INEC doing what the law allows it to do.

C says primary school leaving certificate or equivalent, so where’s the certificate or it’s equivalent?

D says any other qualification acceptable by INEC which means the law stipulates what INEC can accept as alternative. Now, the army had publicly said they were not in possession of his certificate, what does that say about INEC being mute about a claim refuted by the army?
INEC has accepted the affidavit which is legal under the law.

The question now is why are you disturbing yourself? Buhari has been contesting since 2003 with the affidavit and INEC has not had any problem with that.

Yeah I know they need to have a majority voting power. My friend still had 56% voting power, the board threatened him with a hostile takeover and got his friend who shares that 56% with him to vote. But still seeing some this CEO has no shares in that NHIS, thus rendering voting a majority voting power null and void, a simple raising of hand can suspend or sack him. Isn't that so?
Nope. Board members of government agencies have no power to hire or fire. That power rests with the President who has to in some cases get clearance from the National Assembly.

Isn't That why they are there? I am speaking as someone who has seen 3 CEOS removed by the board. I don't know how it's done in Nigeria, but boards have powers to sack. I have seen a guy who lost his position as chairman and CEO of board the same day, sacked by no other business the board. Keep thinking that everyone on nairaland is a mumu.
Only Nigeria is where a board can't sack but make recommendations. Smh
Government boards or private boards because they are not the same thing. Even in private boards the board needs to have a majority voting power to remove the CEO. Its not automatic.

Why are you fixed on the education part and not the equivalent part? There's a reason for that part you know.

The Law gives INEC the power to decide on whether to accept affidavits or not and since Buhari started contesting, he has been submitting affidavits.

Affidavits are actually a legal document and lying on an affidavit is a serious crime.

Government job? You’d still be eventually asked to present your certificates for verification, the certificate presentation isn’t the end, it still needs to be verified with the issuing institutions, which should’ve happened while Buhari was in office, but no, he didn’t submit one as required by the law for contesting a presidential election
I don't do Government(Your first statement said government or private). The Law doesn't require certificates, the law says "he has been educated up to at least School Certificate level or its equivalent.".

WAEC was formed in 1952, Buhari was said to have graduated in 1961. We seem to be missing the point here. Where in Nigeria will any government or private institution accept an affidavit as replacement for your credentials for a job or other application? Does WAEC forbid anyone from obtaining a certified true copy of the original was missing? Let’s say Buhari was granted a waiver in 2015 for political reasons, what happened 3 years after he became president? Was GEJ still preventing him from obtaining one?

If Buhari is allowed to contest this election without proof of his certificates then know there may be no redemption from corruption for Nigeria in the near future because people are watching and learning
The last place I worked in before I left Nigeria did not see anything related to Educational qualifications. My current place of work has not seen anything related to my educational certificates.

There are so many clauses in the law that allow you to by pass submitting a certificate.

Nope. Any parent or sibling not put in your application cannot get anything from you.

On a side note, your excuse doesn't hold because she she didn't stop being your sibling because she got married and it's stated to put parents and siblings including those that are dead.

for a family, Montreal has alot going for it. a 2 bedroom apartment here can be as low as 750 cad, 850cad to 1000cad in downtown montreal! in Toronto that can easily cost you 2200cad! cars are also much cheaper here and the city is lovely to raise a family. Anyways let me tell you a story that would help put things in perspective.
Montreal VS Ontario

Montreal is cheaper but the taxes are higher and the healthcare isn't as good as that in Ontario (way better than Nigeria though) so at uOttawa clinic, you would see a lot of Québecois who come there for treatment but then have to pay cash and get partial reimbursement from their Government.

Also for cars, in Ontario the seller has to provide the used vehicle information(so you know the history of the car) but vehicle information history is not compulsory in Quebec.

Aside from the higher taxes, everything in Quebec is cheaper .

Lots of folks live in Gatineau which is Quebec but work in Ottawa.

If you have experience with advanced education you'll know that
1. Where people have difficulty with English language they do better in numbers. Most parts of Nigeria speak broken English so they have that one step ahead. The north speaks Hausa and Arabic, hence the run towards numbers

Do you have any data to prove this

2. Non applied courses that require rote learning, like medicine is especially easier for them because it requires craming. They have expose to recitation from an early age and must complete the whole Quran to graduate. They take this more important than western education alot of times.

From rote learning to the regular slaughter of animals, meticulous skinning it for prayer ants and sharing the meat to multiple wives equally etc the Hausa man is equipped for medical school .by these natural actions to him which is not so natural for.others.
The rote also helps him study law well.

Are you actually saying Medicine is non applied or that being able to kill a cow means you can be a good Surgeon? You do realize the aim of surgery to stop a person from dying?

If you know programming it is actually pure logic and a good grasp of mathematics can help you there.

You cannot "cram" logic, its either you know it or you don't. Your first post said Northerners should study courses they can cram and you went on to mention Medicine, Maths and Computer Science. Really?

When the course is mostly applied they do poorly.

If Medicine is not applied, I wonder which course is
