ImoRiver: Sometimes I do wonder why all the hate. If someone retaliates or tries to correct them then the person becomes anti-Igbo but the Igbos seem to turn a blind eye to these people's divisive actions. ANAMBRA is the problem of Igbos in Nigeria politics and scheme of things. They are cursed to be causing divisions among Igbos and attracting hatred and problem to great Igbo nation. And my problem with them is that they criticise everything anywhere they are. Other people's govt and development is not good to them and can never be accepted except the rare ones in their state. Go to Lagos, Enugu, Ebonyi, portharcourt, Aba, Imo and North they are doing the same thing. Always finding fault and criticising but hardly criticise or allow somebody to criticize Anambra and her government. At times I wonder the kind of grasp these people have, are you sure they are Igbo sef? They are the people bringing division in Igboland and attracting hatred from tribes in Nigeria through their actions and reactions. |

I just hope you don't want this thread to witness more Tsunami..
Any Imolite that comes here to tell you i.diots the truth automatically becomes a non-Imolite.
Imo state is cursed and and it is the worst state in the SE in all aspects after the dead Abia state but it is the truth, now kill yourself. Writing the cursed, broke, worthless and useless Imo state on the same sentence with Anambra is an insult to commonsense. Okorocha is a worthless thief, so no need classifying him at all. All the pictures posted here are Owerri and Imo state at large, it comes with tags and FB verifications..

Ndi Anambra state stop comparing Anambra state that lack development in all ramifications to Imo state. it will take Anambra 75yrs to be like IMO state. Stop deceiving people on media nothing is in Anambra. Just that you love your state and always like to defend it. most development in Anambra is not government initiated rather private initiated because your people like investing at home. Obi and Obiano both are criminals. you always like to criticize people's state and her government but hardly allow people to mention your state because you know you virtually lack everything. Stop claiming Imo to attack Rochas just because he dumped your god forsaken Apga. you and I know that Rochas still remain the best governor in Southeast and your criticism is not going beyond your state and internet. Rochas still remain the most cherished governor in the whole of northern region and people have learnt that you are criticizing him just because of his political affiliation. Stop comparing your state with Imo because Imo is far ahead of Anambra. What is in Anambra sef? show us picture to prove it and stop running day and night to see that you tarnish the image of the beautiful Imo these fake pictures you got from dirty Onitsha, Nnewi, Awka. |

the NAME ''Ikpeazu'' means Last, as in Last born Ikpeazu also mean 'wrong judgement'. Azu can literally mean bad/wrong in some Igbo dialect. eg: i. O na ekpe ikeazu(false judgment) ii. O na eme akazu(not straight forward) |
Politics › Re: Meaning Of Names Of 7 Igbo Governors, S/east, South by B2mario(m): 3:20pm On Sep 15, 2016 |
Abagworo: You are wrong you know. Igbo language is too diverse that you have to be versed in it to understand the names as applied in our hundreds of dialects. In Ngwa dialect "Ikpegh" means money and "azugh" means cannot buy. Literally it translates to "money cannot buy" but culturally it means "incorruptible".
Ezenwo in Ikwerre language means same as Ezenwa in Igbo distinguishable from Ezemati in Ikwerre or Ezenta in Igbo.
Nyesom in Ikwerre language is same as Onyesom in Igbo language and Wike in Ikwerre is same as Nwike in Igbo.
Okowa and Okorocha/Okocha are basically in reference to male specie as used in older Igbo. Oko owa means Nwoke Owa in Igbo of today while Okocha means Nwokeocha in recent Igbo. Oko Owa means an Owa man. Okowa might have links to Owa kingdom of Ika ethnic group as we have such names as Nwangwa or Nworu in Igbo parts. The two are right depending on how you pronounce it. it can mean 'the last one' or 'wrong judgement' |

Due to old grudges, Okorocha inflicted the heaviest punishment on Orlu urban Lga by destroying development infrastructures after building about 4km of dual carriage ways in Orlu, but scrapped and abandoned more roads in Orlu four years running. Flood, mud and dust have been ravaging Orlu and its inhabitants since then. You know this truth. You have come to Orlu to take photos before.
If Okorocha had closed eyes and asphalted those roads his contractors scrapped in Orlu; then faced development in his city, Owerri, none of us from Orlu can have time reproaching Okorocha any where. What for? After all government goes, another comes.
But for now, Okorocha seems to be SMILING from the four years Curses and abuses of hundreds of thousands of people in Orlu whose lives he had inflicted untold hardship upon, and rendered their town desolate.

millionaireman: Thanks. Your wise take.
There are two NLanders on this thread with doubtful Igbo ancestry. One frequently invites the other with a veiled mention, while the other who has a passion for posting mostly bad photos he says are from Imo state would start to post his junk photos. Apart from these two NLanders, it's with heavy heart that Yours truly often post the damages of public infrastructures which Gov. Okorocha purposely? did in my Orlu local government area, the second most populated lga after Owerri Municipal lga.
Why have the damages done in Orlu continued to be posted here after more than three years? Objective is for future reference purposes, when Okorocha must have left office. Because, from all indications, Gov. Okorocha seems to derive satisfaction from the damaged infrastructures in Orlu, ranging from sports stadium to worsened urban drainage system to scrapped and abandoned roads which have practically crippled economic and social life of a once thriving town.
It gets more intriguing when Okorocha's agents post the cosmetic development - roads totalling about 4km - which Okorocha government widened in Orlu, and used to deceive the public that Orlu which has not had dual carriage street and street lights before is now a city; whereas the inhabitants of Orlu know that this government has worsened public infrastructure in Orlu.
Okorocha government has limited its provision of real development infrastructure to the state capital for about three years running.
Regarding what you see now as rivalry between Igbos. In Imo state, some clan folks erroneously believe that the state capital Owerri is entitled to have every good thing in Imo state. Those folks don't care a hoot about the anguish now suffered by people outside Imo state capital. The folks shout to the rooftops as governor Okorocha devotes nearly 95% of whatever infrastructure of his government to building the Owerri two cities in one, while flood from absence of common urban drainage system, absence of public development infrastructure and scrapped but abandoned roads make life miserable for people in Orlu.So comes the reaction.
We have so far limited the publicity about Okorocha government misdeeds in Orlu to a few public domains, with the hope Okorocha can redress the damages sooner than later. Oga keep quiet you are not from Orlu. do you want me to expose you again? |

AKswift: I read through the posts of this thread with a disinterested mind, and I can assertively say that the state of bitterness, anger and hatred among supposed ‘brethrens”, especially natives of Imo and Anambra, is so uptight and annoying. Not just this reference thread, but others having to do with issues related to states of Abia, Anambra and Imo. I truly cherish constructive criticisms, i.e., remarks/comments that put the so-called elected representatives on the spot. For example, I could draw the attention of the Government on a bad spot in a state without unnecessarily calling the entire people (or state) ‘worthless’ or ‘useless’: come on, such generalization is robed with unparalleled acrimony! This is analogous with someone tagging your entire race ‘untamed’, owing to a pitfall of a few.
Be mindful, partisan ‘Nairalander’, say, from another ethnicity, is keenly observing the rift and divide in your house, and would serve as useful points when the debate is between regions, during one of such “annoying” threads that discusses hegemony and supremacy among regions. I was enlightened, for the first time, on how divided the Easterners are- many thanks to your genre on Nairaland.
One may ask: how come we don’t see comparisons on the “State of Being”, say, between Abeokuta and Ibadan, Akure and Ado-Ekiti, or Eko and Osogbo? The answer is closer than you can imagine: my cousins in the West see the development of their region as a collective responsibility of every descendant of Odua. On the average, they don’t roll over each other in mockery of how a bad spot in a location looks, or extending the remark of calling an entire state “useless”. Though the competition in the East is fierce (each state trying to undo each other), it is not healthy. The harmonious component is lacking, and this is singularly displacing your region in the scheme of things. Therefore, I will admonish those who feel joyous in dropping derogatory remarks, aiming at exacerbating a post in the negative or smearing its good intent to eschew from it. To be candid, I love the determination in your kinsmen to succeed - they are not passive with life, which could be seen in the individual effort from you guys: the beautiful houses, self-donations to social infrastructures, commerce, etc. However, until you peeps disassociate from the parochial mentality of the boastful mannerism of “I” instead of “We” -which communicate oneness- the mockery would not cease to come forth. Chino is from Akoko Edo not Igbo, his mission is to cause division among Igbos. |

Those people are the most trickiest people in Africa, they want to use this bill to expand their settlement. One major problem in Nigeria is that we don't know Hausa-fulani, we always think that they are good.
