The screen display graphics, the match build-up, the commentary, the match analysis, the match hype in the EPL is out of this world. No matter how good the football played in the La Liga is, their boring presentation kills it. That line-up display of the EPL with the players turning around to line up side-by-side alone is enough to keep you glued to the screen. Also, After Barcelona and Real-Madrid, what's left of the La-Liga?? I'm a Man-Utd fan but I'll still watch a Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Everton, Swansea, Man city and West-brom match any day its on. I don't see any Nigerian itching to watch a Real Valladolid match. |
Knowledge9000: Yoruba busy bodies and their jealousy of Igbos, and now directing this in full force at our beautiful, brilliant, highly educated and high profiled Igbo women. Today is Stella Oduah, tomorrow is Oby Ezekwesili, next week it's Dora Akunyili, a week before was Ndidi Okereke-Onyiuke, few months ago was Joy Ogwu. Ungrateful people...these smart Igbo women are magnanimously running this country for the benefit of all; including you...Yorubas. What are you people contributing to this enterprise called Nigeria? Absolutely nothing. The Igbos, South-South and Hausas are running the show today in every level of the federal government....PRESIDENT, VICE-PRESIDENT, SENATE PRESIDENT, DEPUTY SENATE PRESIDENT, SPEAKER, DEPUTY SPEAKER, CHIEF JUSTICE OF THE FEDERATION...NO YORUBA ANYWHERE IN THE LEADERSHIP OF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OF NIGERIA THAT THEY CLAIM TO BE A MAJOR PART OF...VERY FOOLISH, WEAK, DECREPIT, FEAR-STRICKEN PEOPLE WITH LOW IQ. You all are not ashamed that you can't produce brilliant women of the caliber of Igbo women to contribute to the growth and development of this country. They will come up with the same ONE person Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti. That's all they got? Nuisance. One night of hot sex with G.E.J in Israel and all of Stella Oduah's problems would disappear. Don't mind all these Yoruba haters. |
solomon111: For a state as small in land area as lagos, with the biggest IGR and one of the biggest federal allocation,i wonder why it should take the incompetent state govt ages to provide the minimum standard of infrastructure.Do you think Lagos state is a collection of villages and towns that 3 flyovers and 10 roads will suddenly be visible as "Uncommon transformation?? |
hercules07: I have done simple arithmetic for him on the Lekki-Epe Road, the proposed cost is cheaper than what the FG is spending on the Lagos Ibadan Expressway, the buyback is the best thing for LASG because the revenue of #4B per annum means the state will recoup the money spent in less than 30 years. I personally believe that the Lekki Epe expressway could have been done cheaper and there is a need to always scrutinize whatever our leaders do, but, the angle he is trying to push is that FG projects are cheaper, haba.Pls, does the Ibadan-Express project come with large covered concrete drainages and is also constructed on sandy, water-logged soil?? |
ijaw citizen: We are not talking of health care centers in "EVERY LGA" here. There are at least Three large health care facilities in Yenagoa LGa as we speak.WHO ARE YOU?? |
And we wonder why Nigerian cities look like big villages. |
A friend's dad once complained that he stopped attending the Landlord's association meeting in his hood because they kept discussing irrelevant things.......... ....... like how a particular tenant should be forcefully evicted for sleeping with a Landlord's househelp and such. After which they'll roll out the alcohol and get drunk. |
taharqa: Shove that Sillly 'advice' of yrs bottom, you HYPOCRITE. Were this accusation made against Fashola the way d @OP did, wud you be giving such a Lame 'advice'... Don't just get me started this morningI always picture you foaming at the mouth, wearing tattered clothes as you drop your posts. Why are you always so rabid ![]() Your parents must have insulted themselves, you and your siblings regularly for you to always be this wound-up and think throwing insults proves you're "in-charge".....Or were you sexually abused as a child?? |
theoctopus: You described the 3 govs aptly with the bolded! Thumbs up!And T.A Orji , Peter Obi, Emmanuel Uduaghan, Seriake Dickson and Goodswill Akpabio are certainly the morally upstanding Governors of the region. |
We need more projects like this exposed to let Politicians and contractors know that their works now have searchlights focued on them. |
taharqa: YOU ARE A VERY BIG FOOOL.... So it didn't rain yesterday, and according to you those bowls may hv been used to collect water from d AC System (as smone else also suggested), yet you rushed to open a thread on a National forum saying that you witnessed a 'rain leaking roof' yterday as you were traveling to London; and sm of d Okpees who call themselves MODS on NL pushed d thread to d FP. If you weren't sure, why d helll did not bring such a grave accusation to a forum where there are lots of Non-Nigerians reading? If sm persons didn't demand for sm answers, wud you hv made the clarifications you just made? Why didn't you add these clarifications (DOUBTS) to your opening OP if you were not a DISHONEST person...... EWUDANYou didn't need to get all emotional in your reply to him, calling him a "fool" is also out of place as long as you in person aren't sure why those buckets are on the ground. People have confirmed it in some posts here so if it was a shoddy job (which is the norm in Nigeria), names have to start being mentioned and people fired to pass the message that things like this shouldn't be accepted in the year 2013 and beyond. Simple |
jp philips: due to the inherent cost of production, Nissan may choose not to be Assembling newer models in Nigeria, thereby leaving Nigerians with Old models, 1982 Peugeot 504 was still assembled brand new in Nigeria till 2003, can you beat that? You're right. There's this Nissan Sunny I'm sure they'll flood the market with. Meanwhile i wish they could also invest in the cheap, highly stylish Nissan Juke and Quashqai. Those two will be a monster hit in Nigeria if they don't over-price them. |
erico2k2: Guy I think you have never bought a new car, how can you compare Japs and german tech? the VW is far supirior to any car made in Japan and thats a factThey are not in the same class. You can't compare the Golf's pricing to a Toyota Camry's price. The Jetta/Golf can cost more than its equivalent rivals, Corollas, focus, civics but not a toyota Camry. The same way a VW passat can cost more than a Camry because of the German advantage. A Golf/Jetta top end models eg GTI / R-32 costs as much or more than some Camrys but both cars are generally not in the same price bracket. Because its a Golf and its German doesn't mean its automatically more expensive than a camry. You need to visit more Auto sites. Let me recommend some to you: Topgear.com. Autocar.co.uk, Motor trend.com. Don't always believe what you heard in Nigeria. BTW, Do you know some Camry/ Honda top end Models can be more expensive than smaller engined BMW 3-series and C-class Benzes? |
Prior to my first real bash, I only used to scratch cars which I'd clean with break oil. It happened after years of experience when confidence (over-confidence) had set it. I could send texts, eat a packed meal, scroll through my phone, change radio stations/tracks..........So i decided to add "people watching" to the list of things i could do at the steering wheel. It was those types of slow traffic that you used your 1st gear and 2nd mostly so while in it, I noticed this pretty lady, smartly dressed driving beside me. She noticed me too and we began exchanging side glances. I looked ahead, the car in front of me had started moving so i accelerated moderately thinking it would flow for a while........I just looked sideways again to see if she was keeping up....no she wasn't and as i looked front again, the car in front of me had stopped years ago........with me accelerating towards it. Pressed my breaks hard......too late.....BAMMM!!!.......Bonnet crumples..... I got out to inspect the damage and to pacify the man i rear ended......she drove past.....she no even look my side sef........quite painful. |

olabukola: who is responsible to change the tyre of a car you drive? If not you the driver I wonder who. Ok when the police pull you over for having bad tyres in a sane country who get fined? Your answer is as good as mine if you have ever resided in a sane country before. NCAA is responsible for setting the standard but the pilot has the final authority for letting the aircraft fly. It's only a stupid person can drive a car with bad tyres and only a stupid or quack pilot will fly a bad plane. i have not taken a local flight before and I don't think I will in many years to come. Why? Everybody in that industry in Nigeria is insane. You are so right on this. That's why its only a sane leader that can shake things up and effect change. |
Despite all the nagatives happening during G.E.J's administration, no one can deny that there aren't some positives occuring alongside it. |
Now this thread is a good indicator of the level of maturity of the posters. |
Next time Ethiopia should score clear goals rather than chase after those "was it in?" Goals. Which referee can disallow Emenike's 1st goal?? |
Orlando Owoh: You're making a big mistake infering that MMIA, Lagos is problematic, and as such Tunde Fashola should be blamed. FYI the aviation sector is in the exclusive legislative list. With the largest percentage of flights in Nigeria, of course MMIA is the Airport with the highest probaility of an Air mishap.......Bigotry reduces one's ability to analyze situations properly. That @KettyKings is just a Lagos hater to the core so all his efforts are to discredit the state. He develops a HBP over Lagos affairs. |
olabukola: in this case who do you blame? The tyre?. The driver is 100% to blame. Is he blind not to notice that the tyre is bad. I don't know how people reason when in opposition. If the preliminary report from AIB is correct then the pilot is to lame. Moreover in aviation standard the final authority on airworthiness of an aircraft rest on the pilot. You blame whoever is responsible for changing the bad tires. Who is responsible for the bad planes allowed to fly in our Airspace?? The Pilots?? Don't you fly the local Air Routes at all?? Do majority of those planes look "Ok" to you?? |
omenka: And what is political about this my brother? He represents our Nigerian politicians and how large they've become feeding off the nation. They'll continue to do so till they eat themselves to their deaths.......Just like Ricky Naputi above. |
See as salary payment dey "trip" person........SMH. We need to stop being impressed by peanuts, Thank God I'm self employed. |
E-G-Y-P. Spelt already..........remaining T. |
See as #FRESH AIR# jus carry light.......just as the match was about to start. Anyways, Nairaland viewing center to the rescue. |
Controversy: Fashola i’m surprised that you know about mechanical device going faulty. If you know that mechanical devices can go faulty, then those second handed trains you bought from Canada would soon fail, just like the Canadians who sold it to you know this, and that’s why they sold it to you fast. The result of those failed mechanical devices caused by those airline is very simple, those planes are all old and should no longer be in service. But when our leaders choose to use Nigeria as a dumping ground for outdated transportation facilities such as planes, trains and vehicles that are no longer supposed to be used to transport human beings for safety of lives. Then what we get is complete chaos and loss of innocent lives. When a used train develops a fault, it simply stops moving or the train driver applies emergency breaks. When a plane develops a fault in mid-air..........Everybody dies. Surviving an Air-crash is termed a "miracle". You can't afford to take those kind of chances with aviation. So people "die" everyday on Badagry Expressway......Hmmmm, that road must be littered with dead bodies by now.......... But you're right in a way, the FG is responsible for the the bad state of that road and should be punished, LASG is only fixing it because they're tired of waiting for the FG. |
blacksta: Woeful statement - - Every part of plane's engine has a date when it has to be replaced -Its like blaming the driver in a car crash caused by a worn out tire that burst while the car was at speed. The front seat passenger screams "don't press the breaks"!!!! But the driver does....leading to the accident. Would the tire have burst if it was new?? The chances of that happening would have been greatly reduced.....And they ignored the rickety old plane with the faulty flap and blame the pilot for trying to "Manage" it. Same thing that keeps going on in our Aviation sector. You walk past the refurbished Airports to board those rickety planes that can crash anytime. |
Anybody that travels well on local flights can testify to the bad state most of these planes that fly these routes are. The flaps of the crashed AA plane didn't deploy properly.......Of course, the chances of this happening is higher in an old plane. If the flaps deployed properly, no one would have screamed "Abort flight". Anyone that sees nothing wrong in the sorry state of most planes allowed to operate in the local routes simply doesn't travel by air within this country. DANA Air that crashed last year can even be said to have some of the best planes and services so think of how bad the rest would be. Someone/ People permitted these airlines to operate those old planes in the Nigerian Airspace, that person/ people have names and they deserve to be sacked. Crashes occur worldwide but compared to the percentage of flights that the Nigerian Airspace handles, its way too much. Its unacceptable. |
Willy2willy: war wit whoI don't know ooo......but when weapons are being bought, they don't plan on using it to plant flowers. |
