Danjuma once made the statement when he sold an oil block and netted $500 Million....."I don't even know what to do with the money". This is one of the things that can be done with that kind of money........ but he's probably never generated money in his life so how can he know? Now imagine if the various Political thieves in Nigeria invest in various projects in this country. |

Rogbese: I do live in Lagos and ride the bus everyday. I have a pass card and I don't pray for failure in anything paid for with good money. Thank you for your comments. The truth is, I won't be brought down to levels beneath me by answering abuse with same. The question is......"Why were you trying to pass the BRT system off as a failure"?.....not what you think your definition of an insult is or what perceived level you think you are in your mind. |
Rogbese: I won't get into an exchange of words with you. Is the BRT bus system not a collaboration of government and private sector? How well has that gone? I have nothing against Fashola, he is a man who has dared to tread where others feared. I am very much against persons that hide behind their phones, tablets or PC's and hurl insults because someone else has a difference of opinion. @gbawe responded to my post without insults but you opened your reply by insulting me and others that have aired one view or the other. Not cool.Don't talk about what you don't know. Do you even live in Lagos?? The BRT system is still fully effective and functional so don't try to paint a picture that its a failure. The system is 6 years old so don't expect all the buses to keep looking brand new but between sunday and today, I rode in 3 brand new buses with the nylon still on their seats. Save your wish for failure on the BRT system for your car if you use it commercially for 6 years and if you don't like the buses, use the yellow buses or search for a Molue. |
The cable car system should be completed quickly, I'll gladly pay just to ride in one to enjoy the view. To those hating, you better vote in Governors that will pioneer innovative solutions to your State problems rather than criticize another's effort. |
Picture if it was G.E.J that the Military handed power to in 1999..........I believe the Military would have slapped him after a year and snatched the Presidency right back from him. |
teskyg: White Elephant Project.BRT is a disaster.the same Fashola who could not manage the BRT transport scheme is dreaming of Cable transport, this must be a joke.Same BRT that I'll still use today?? Rode in two on sunday.......Brand new with the nylon still on the seats. The joke's on you. |
@Agbameta. The height at which the cars operate take style high ooo.......Its only for the brave. I just hope those market women with large bags of pepper and tomatoes don't get brave enough to want to use it. |
kettykin: I can only say that I pity the first would be victims without life insurance policy cover of this super story project if ever at all it is not a scam by some very clever politicians capitalising on the gullibility of members of their constituency.Don't you have a village square meeting to attend ![]() |
Of course our Airspace is safe.......Its not as if there are rebels with "surface to air" missiles waiting to shoot commercial planes down.......or regular cases of tornados and typhoon winds that causes plane crashes regularly........or flocks of quela birds that hover close to airports and get sucked into engines resulting in crashes. Its our Aviation practices that aren't safe. How effective are our "Emergency response" team?? How trained and equiped are they?? How well are the planes checked by qualified and experienced engineers?? How are rickety planes allowed to operate without proper scrutiny?? Painting and re-tiling Airports doesn't translate to Aviation reforms. |
kettykin: Would not a national conference enable Tinubu and Fashola completely rid lagos of igbos and plant Babalojas every where, then how come they are now reluctant to come to the dialogue table, even the FFK who some few weeks ago was shooting from both sides of the mouth about the need for igbos to be deported back to the east and even vowing to wage a xenophobic war on igbos is suddenly mute. There is always something called "THE RIGHT TIME" for everything. That's what your past leaders failed to realize. Reacting hastily on emotions will always land you in trouble. You plan to carry out the right move at the wrong time......when people tell you to be patient, you'll interprete it as them opposing the noble cause. |
Well, Tinubu asked very thought provoking questions......."Why all of a sudden, G.E.J is calling for a S.N.C"??......its almost as if he's scared of something. Whatever is G.E.J's motive, the S.N.C is the way forward. His motive may be wrong but it remains a right move..............But is the timing right?? |
Slowly but surely, Lagos is loosing that haphazard look caused by the lawless nature of some of its inhabitants. |
ikp4succes: You obviously a car importer, and these will affect your business. The govt is not banning cars they just increasing the tariff to encourage local manufacturing of cars and also encourage international car manufacturers to invest in the country thereby creating jobs. If you have a better idea please come up with one..When G.E.J improves power, security and develops a labour force that are highly skilled and still affordable, maybe they'll come. |
Vote out G.E.J!!!!! How do you discourage the use of 2nd hand cars?? By improving the public transportation so well and effectively that people will no longer be so desperate to own used cars any longer. How many Nigerians could afford brand new cars in the first place that he feels there will be a surge in the purchase of of them?? There's no way I'm giving up my dream of driving a piece of German Engineering for an Innosun or Tata........ G.E.J probably spent a large part of his life in canoes so he has no idea how important the acess to automobiles is to the Average Nigerian. |
So isnt what is being suggested on this thread by OP a better way of doing things?
The Op's suggestion will only encourage their outdated approach to cattle rearing. |
If you refuse to evolve and develop better ways to do things, the World will leave you behind. The whites are constantly developing new products and more efficient ways of doing things, that's why their societies are so advanced while some people here are defending those cattle rearers that are comfortable in their primitive comfort zones. They are gradually going to become an extinct specie if they don't modernize their practices. |
Rossikk: Tell that to the 14,000 people currently working in the newly boosted sector.14,000 people employed by the textile industry?? For all i know, they might be ghosts as long as all we see is figures in the media. Give me the names of these Textile companies that have benefitted from G.E.J's intervention fund and I'll look them up online. The Textile mills closed shop in this country during the peak of Millitary dictatorship and national instability witnessed in the mid to late 90s. They are back because Democracy offers a more stable atmosphere to operate. Well, the Railways being revived is a good legacy that will be felt in the future......But it remains a half hearted attempt to me. The Billions spent compared to what's on ground. Things are looking up for the Economy though. But its due to the influx of foreigners, diasporans and Nigerians willing to invest in this country. The least G.E.J should do is provide stable electricity ( Still waiting ) and Security ( don't even go there ). If you mention G.E.J is responsible for the Economic upturn again, you'll have to acompany it with the policies and strategies he took to ensure that to enlighten me. He might have good intentions but he's just sharing money around and not tightening loopholes. |
@Musiwa A.K.A Tglobe. You forgot to add that your "Can you see the similarity in their attitude"? Picture. |
Rossikk: Wrong. The economy of the USA is growing very slowly - like 2%, and their population is 350 million! So it's not just about population."Democracy" is what's renewing investor confidence, not G.E.J. |
Rossikk: How many folks here knew that the Jonathan administration has ploughed in nearly a billion dollars into reviving the textile sector?Well, we have no knowledge of it being effective. A while ago, no one had to tell me that the Textile sector was booming. Their billboards where around and they advertized in the pages of Newspapers. Their presence was felt. Now, it seems like its that same half hearted approach, similar to the Railway revival its experiencing with how visible it is.......despite the large sums claimed to have been invested in it.........Same with that Nollywood funds he released. Has it led to a revolution in the Movie industry?? No. They still keep churning out the same crap. |
ilugunboy: In one of the pix up there....I was deeply involved in the transaction regarding the site on which the project is standing. I can categorically confirm that it has got absolutely nothing to do with GEJ agenda.Totally agree with you. Truely the Economy is booming but not as a result of G.E.J. If anyone disagrees with me, pls provide a list of policys and strategies G.E.J implimented to achieve these results.......BUA Group that has been in operations for how long is now being advertized as the brainchild of G.E.J......Dangote set up those his companies regardless of who was in power. He hasn't fixed the refineries and some people are trying to pass it off as if he's responsible for everyone that decides to open a factory to service the teeming population. Maybe G.E.J's even responsible for my friend and i making the decision to set up our business. |
Majority of those companies have been in operation way before G.E.J became president so please don't try to pass it off as if he did something to establish them. Why aren't the Refineries working?? If other Presidents have been slow considering them, why can't he be an exception?? |
Count me in......I'm dating an Igbo chic. |
Billyonaire: Civilized minds will always decipher the contents of message before responding to a post.Well, I deciphered the contents of the message and it made no sense. If you call that "Truth" I SMH for you...... . . . . . . . Virtual Billiionaire. |
Atouke: uyoThis flyover again!!!!! |
Trying to pass local Black box analysis as an achievement. SMH. How does it affect the common man?? With all the foreign analysis that has been carried out in the past, Has anyone here been able to have access to its information?? |
I never pray for my family and friends, people suffering around the world, the sick, the poor, the hopeless finish.........Na one Governor wey dey ride inside luxury SUV, dey fly private jet, dey handle billions i go come dey pray for?? |
musa ajebor: Octavo, is ur surname linus, abi ur father christiend u elijah. Infact ur yoruba name from today ix olaitanHe's also known as "Octavo Akpos". |
^^^Funnily enough there was no prevaricating and faffing about before the money was found for this project...... it didn't take a decade for them to award the contract! Same can't be said for the 2nd Niger bridge that would impact more lives and make more economic sense.
FG are misplacing their priorities here. The Niger Bridge is on of the most economically important roads in Nigeria. It ought to rank high on their priority scale........Or else they want to use it to string along the Igbo folks till 2019?? |
