Siena: The Audi A3 8P chassis shares engine, transmission and suspension with the VW Golf IV. It's pretty much a VW Golf with more exotic clothes. ECU's and some interior electricals are also interchangeable.

I can convert a RHD to LHD easily, as the bodyshels are global (no separate LHD and RHD). The rices of LHD cars is lower, and LHD conversion kit prices are higher, thanks to demand, which the Germans have cottoned onto, and increased their prices.

I can source you a LHD car, cheaper than it would cost you to buy a RHD model, then convert to LHD. My contact details are in my signature, so we don't contravene forum rules.
Thank you very much.

Mr Siena, I'm sorry to derail your thread but can i need your advice.

Firstly, I'm seriously considering an Audi A3 , 1.6-1.8L,2004/05 MY, manual gear, 3 dr because i believe it shares mechanical components with the VW Golf. To what extents are the similarities?

Then would it be cheaper if i sourced for a RHD version and Convert it with you or you help me source for a LHD version?

At least, bit by bit, the Landscape of Ibadan is changing.

More investments, both foreign and local will always be welcome as long as they provide employment and make life easier for the residents of Ibadan.

Na so my bro. Mandela could also have seized South Africa's economy but he realized what his people needed the most at that moment was "FREEDOM".

Now, the rise of the Black South Africans is in motion and it can only get better for them.

Mugabe had the right intentions but executed it wrongly.

Retreiving lands that have been under ownership of the Whites for decades is not something that should be done within short notice. It takes wisdom, not force.

He could have simply told the Whites to give up an agreed percentage of their lands to black farmers using the fact that the lands were acquired forcefully by them as a bargaining chip. He also should have made them sign to assist the Black farmers with Agricultural knowledge.

That way, He still retains his economy, empower his people and still be at peace with the World.

I think the use of the internet to expose corrupt policemen should be applied to expose the corrupt Lecturers too.

With video/audio evidence, they can be exposed to the world.

Nigerian students, take note.

@OP. Did you expect him to use his real name so that he'll be a ready made target for victimization??

Why are you talking as if its not normal for Lecturers to sexually exploit female students.

If i start posting names of Lecturers and stories of cases of sexual harrasment when i was back in school, it would fit to be made into a series with over 10 seasons.

Well, both sides of the story is necessary to arrive at a conclusion.

Politics › Re: Why Do We Have So Many Bad Roads In Lagos? by ba7man(m): 6:49am On Sep 28, 2013
A number of inner roads are still bad in Lagos but compared to the 90s, there has been a big improvement in the number of tarred roads.

Fashola can't tar all the roads during his tenure considering the fact that Lagos has by far the highest number of road network in Nigeria and the city's growth is faster that the rate of development.

The positive thing about the rise of oposition parties like is the competition it has brought about in different States and it can only get better.

Yes, Governors still loot but gone are the days where they just sat on their butts doing nothing and watched the states they govern decay and crumble without showing remorse.

Enerhen junction looks so far better now and i also heard Effurun Round-about has also been worked on to look good too......compared to the Early to mid 90s when i was schooling in F.G.C Warri.

They might just refurbish more Airport halls, some people are happy and some angry .......and life goes on.

Ghana never made back hand moves to invite the Airlines, they choose to go there if their tarrifs are futher hiked.

In the long run, its people like you and me that will pay for it and the Government gets more money to mismanage and embezzle amongst their midst.

Pls ignore this dude i just quoted. He's probably mad that the Hotel Franchise ignored his region and decided on Osun State with all its "poverty".

Just type in "Best Western Hotels Ratings" on your Google search and read up yourself.

Best Western Hotels have a 3-4 star Rating on the international scale.

??
BEST WESTERN International, Inc., operator of the Best Western Hotel brand, is the world's largest hotel chain, with over 4,195 hotels in over 100 countries.[2] The chain, with its corporate headquarters in Phoenix,[3] operates more than 2,000 hotels in North America alone. Best Western has a marketing program involving placement of free Wi-Fi access hotspots in its hotels.

Since 2002, Best Western International has begun creating an upscale brand for some properties located in Europe and Asia: Best Western Premier. By 2011, the chain's branding was modified; the basic Best Western name is now complemented by Best Western Plus and Best Western Premier properties offering progressively improved dining, recreation, and room guarantees.[4] The hotel descriptor categories are now used by Best Western hotels around the world. Since it no longer operated under a single brand, Best Western concurrently modified its slogan in 2011 from "the world's largest hotel chain" to "the world's largest hotel family."

Politics › Re: Nigeria's Middle-Class Increases By 28 percent!! by ba7man(m):
Rossikk: Opportunities do not become numerous by magic. One important reason many fields have opened up is that over 100 million Nigerians now have access to modern telecommunications, courtesy of govt policies of deregulation, privatisation, diversification away from oil etc. Under the military, less than 1 in 20 Nigerians had access to a phone line. Today, Nigeria is the biggest telecoms market and industry in Africa. Learn to appreciate good, or it will continue to elude you.
I gave credit to the Obasanjo Administration for the Telecomunication industry .......but this is year 2013 going on 2014 and i don't have light as i type this. What's to appreciate in that?? Or do you appreciate the pot-holes on Lagos-Ibadan express? Or the Airport road?

You can't appreciate a problem not solved or half solved or shoddily solved, can you??

You're so right. Millitary dictatorship is a very good attractor of foreign investment ........+ the lack of basic infrastructure back then.

manny4life: Yes, he met a not-so-perfect system in motion, however, he's adding more fuel to make the motion more faster. For me, I'll credit him for taking on the power restructuring initiative that has given rise to GE's $250million plant in Akwa Ibom I believe. GE is to supply locomotives, and other electrical supplies through their plant, TCN has assumed operations (about two weeks ago news said that pension have been approved or something), NERC has assumed regulatory duties though they need restructuring, the bulk trader is about to come online meanwhile the assets and liabilities of PHCN has been transferred to private investors. So yes, I'll credit him for adding to the cycle and hopefully over the next year, the dividends of good democracy will begin paying off.

How can you allude that he has no presence in Lagos? Several tens and thousands of people including companies and entities have "directly" benefited from his policies. When the rail was rehabilitated, didn't people state that transfer of goods was cheaper although not faster but it was affordable, what do call that? According to @naptu, they started transferring containers from the port directly onto the trains, what do you call that?

Let me stop but you get the idea, power may not be felt in Lagos, yes I get it, however, something worth doing is worth the waiting for.
Pardon me if I'm not feeling the #FRESH AIR# yet but when I drive on an expanded resurfaced Lagos-Ibadan express, Oshodi-Apapa/Airport Road to my home that has at least 18hrs of Electricity daily........

.......And I turn on the TV and i hear that at least 2 of the pending high profile cases of fraud have been resolved with at least someone getting prosecuted and funds being seized from the individual with dismisal from service and a significant reduction in Oil theft........

See if I won't out-do @Sincere 9gerian in praising G.E.J online. I would be his loudest advocate.

manny4life: The answer to your question

Agriculture and Transportation, these two have absorbed aggressive investment. With millions in agriculture subsidies, and tons of farmers (crop or livestock), tens of thousands of people have been busy you know.

Banking and Telecom remains the large employer of middle class? Are you seriously kidding me? Man, you guys need to quit this please, even if there are 100 banks (very unlikely), with an average of 5,000 employees, that's 500,000 employees. How many of these employees are paid more than N250,000 monthly (perks not included)? Do the math and then tell me they're the largest employer of middle class meanwhile a small/mid scale farmer who cashes in quarterly is way better off. The trader down the street makes more income than a banker, like you previously stated, the photographer, gele wrapper, bead maker have a better living than MOST bankers.

GEJ has begun the revolutionizing campaign, you just don't wanna see it. Like past presidents, GEJ has his flaws and remedying the power sector is on process despite the fact that it created bottlenecks, and a serious pain due to the cabals. How do you mean he has done nothing to affect the economic capital? I kinda understand how you mean but a further explanation will shed light on how you mean by that.
I havent felt the effects of transportation yet where i am. All FG roads are still crap around me, fuel has only gotten more expensive.....neither Agriculture. Has food suddenly become cheaper or more abundant?? No.

So bankers that earn N250,000 are now regarded as lower class in the Nigerian Economy, right?? U're not in Nigeria, I believe.

When he fixes those 3 roads i mentioned above, I can now agree with you on transportation.

manny4life: Bros, I do not have the strength for too much long talk, what I know is that you're insincere to yourself and I do not say "insincere" to disrespect you. Economic growth without development is not significant because people will not feel it (isn't that what critics like you have been clamoring for ?) However, the increase of the middle class is a positive yield result of our development. Nigeria's middle class rising is because of improved standard of living including INCOME. Nigeria is developing infrastructures though not on an aggressive scale like some perceive, strengthening our financial system, diversifying and seeking other industries, establishing and promoting friendly trade, commerce, and fiscal policies. All these aid in our development which is improving the standard of living in our nation, thus the increase in the middle class. Therefore, to say that GEJ's policies aren't helping is nothing short of insincerity on your part.
G.E.J met a system in motion. I'll credit him for encouraging it rather than sabotaging it to discredit his predecessors........Rather than praise him as if he initiated it.

Here in Lagos and the SW, he has little or no presense though and his efforts compared to the resources he has at his disposal do not add up. Trying to work, while ignoring foundational problems of the Country is like blowing a balloon. It gets bigger but there's nothing but air in it......till it pops.

Also, his inabillity to take a firm stand against corruption is a minus to him. We need someone that can stand-up and say "ENOUGH"!!!.....Not smile sheepishly and ask for international assistance in tackling insecurity, oil theft and corruption.
Politics › Re: Nigeria's Middle-Class Increases By 28 percent!! by ba7man(m):
As messed up as O.B.J was, I can say it was his Administration that revolutionize the Banking and Telecomunications industry in Nigeria. These 2 sectors absorbed tens of thousands of "Would-be" jobless youths into the new Labour market in just a few years.

What has G.E.J done to rival this??.......Pls, I'm open to answers on this question.

Suddenly, there was a set of young, new middle class that could afford good cars and live a decent life. Everyone felt the presense of these Banking and Telecomunication jobs. Yes, the Nigerian factor almost messed it up but it still remains till today a large employer of the new middle class.

I'm still waiting for G.E.J to revolutionize a sector of the Economy that would be visible for all to see. Here in Lagos, as long as there is no constant power supply, Lagos-Ibadan Express, Oshodi-Apapa rd and the Airport Rd haven't been fixed, he has done nothing to affect the Economic Capital except raise fuel prices......the effect of the partial subsidy removal that hasn't even been felt yet by the average citizen.

awodman: You are trying so hard to pass your personal idiosyncrasies as facts....
I'm sure you know over 20 jobs people do right now that had little or no presense 10yrs ago.

I marvel at how smart and industious the average Nigerian has become of late without having to wait for Government intervention. Its happening all around us.

The World has known for Over 10yrs that Nigeria was a favourable investment destination. The South Africans took the first Step, China moved to Angola. The Recession opened their eyes to the Economic potentials of Nigeria and they're now here.

The west can only look on its an opportunity they missed. Too busy being sceptical to see if the New Democracy would hold, Millitancy, Religious Extremism, Bad infrastructure, weak power.

Meanwhile, i can also say you relating the Nigerian Economic upturn to G.E.J's efforts is your own personal Idiocyncrasies being passed on as facts.
Politics › Re: Nigeria's Middle-Class Increases By 28 percent!! by ba7man(m):
manny4life: So if this is the case, we've been had a large market since thy kingdom come, so large market ain't cutting it. Back in 2000, Nigeria already had a population of at least 100million, so what changed now?
The last Global Recession forced International Investors to sit-up and take notice of how Developing economies performed during it.....that was back in 2009 so you see the Nigerian Economy was already witnessing and upturn before G.E.J became president.

Nigeria was one of the Countries that was largely unaffected and it also had a booming population. They continually harped on how Nigeria was one of the next investment destinations in various Economic reports on CNN back then. It was also all over foreign Economic magazines too.

They also bemoaned the fact that China was the first to move in on Nigeria and the African Economy in their bid for Global Economic domination to strengthen theirs.

The Chinese were more agressive in their Economic push so while other Global investors were still debating and observing the Nigerian insecurity situation and epilleptic power supply, the chinese move in quickly.

If Guru Maharaji or Godogodo the Armed robber had ended up president, these investors would still have come. It has more to do with the individual awakening of the Average Nigerian to global ideas, not one G.E.J's policy.

Who would have ever thought a profession like Public speaking" would create an industry that would generate Millions?? Or ordinary Tying of Gele would serve as a source of income generation?? The spirit of Entrepreneurship is taking over Nigeria and you can now find Nigerians as young as 19-20 creating jobs for themselves and their friends.

Was with a friend's 21 year old sister yesterday and she was showing me Beads she bought from a fellow 21yr old girl that makes them for N6000. A group of 19 year old girls i know put their pocket monies together and started a fashion line, making outfits for their friends, parents and their friends. They are making more money now than a lot of people.

I have a friend that works during the week and covers Weddings and events through photography during weekends. He makes an average of N150,000 every weekend.

I have tonnes of examples of Nigerians that schooled abroad and those living in diaspora and were forced back home due to the Recession. They came home with smart ideas, implimented them and are currently making money. They came home with more progressive ideas forcing the home grown Entrepreneurs to step-up their game through research and increased innovation and this has given rise to Competition.

These are the kinds of people leading the Economic revolution in Nigeria. Go to Daystar Church and see how Economic Empowerment informations are been shared. My own Church organizes an Entrepreneurship Wednesday service once a month in which all we discuss is Business principles, Ideas and their implimentation.

Truely, Nigeria's Economy is on an upward march but I'll prefer to give credit to the Nigerian Citizens that have decided to take their own lives in their hands........Not one obscure F.G Policy.

We need to learn to see the big picture......Have a global view.
