Car Talk › Re: FG To Phase Out Tokunbo Cars by ba7man(m): 11:29am On Oct 03, 2013
ebenezer4o2: Let's talk about the economic implications of this if followed to the letter.

If such cars are stoped from being imported into Nigeria, then here ceases to be a dumping ground and hence an increase in the assembly of local automobiles thereby fostering Job creation in the industry.

It brings about an equilibrium,to an extent in the export multiplier process thereby stabilizing the economy.

It also helps to spring up subsidiary industries.

All these are measures put together by the FG to strenghten the Naira and improve the economy as a whole.More are yet to come, kudos to the FG.
But first, for all these plans to be effective, you need a population that can actually afford brand new cars first.
Politics › Re: Asset Declaration: Lagos PDP Issues 14-day Ultimatum To Fashola by ba7man(m): 10:27am On Oct 03, 2013
Fashola should simply reply them with those immortal words......"I DON'T GIVE A DAMN".
Politics › Re: FG Approves New Automotive Industrial Policy, To Phase Out 'Tokubo' by ba7man(m): 10:01am On Oct 03, 2013
I wonder why the FG can't just develop the transport system so well that people won't be moved to buying cars like they're used to.

There's no way I'm driving an Innosun or those chinese Vehicles when i can drive this......... Even though it will be "Tokunbo".

Coming soon 2015.

Politics › Re: FG Approves New Automotive Industrial Policy, To Phase Out 'Tokubo' by ba7man(m): 11:27pm On Oct 02, 2013
No it's not a laudable idea. Why do people buy cars (some people have 6)?

Even in the western world where people buy brand new cars, at least 70% are bought on credit. Does Nigeria have a working credit system? No

Simple idea, start with building a credible transportation system so that people won't have to own cars
I totally agree with you.

JMOI: Oh, this argument has taken another desperate dimension, so the solution now is for him to relocate with his household, all his service chiefs, and all the ministers to Borno state? Hahaha. What difference will it make if he goes there? He has all the intelligence and information at his beck and call at Aso Rock. So what else is he going to be doing when he gets to Borno state? Put on his khaki and soldier boots and go into the trenches to combat them face to face just to prove to you that he has balls, abi? Is it when he does that that you'll know he's trying?
You're not getting his point.
Politics › Re: Jonathan - Boko-Haram Cant Frustrate Nigeria by ba7man(m): 6:07pm On Oct 02, 2013
Boko-Haram aren't out to "FRUSTRATE" Nigerians.........They are out to "KILL" Nigerians.

Sorry but that was a daft statement.

kettykin: This is the website of the contractor what you posted was the website of the contractor handling the failed Lagos rail project and the white elephant Eko Atlantic city

http://greenfieldassets.com/page.aspx?seq=bQTiVmSmq45bl1K40uYA7g==
As you typed this comment, work is going on on both sites you are trying to discredit.

Enough to blow your mind away.......I know because they are both amongst the biggest projects under construction today in Nigeria.

The people that conceptualized this Aba mall were most likely inspired by these projects.
Politics › Re: Fashola Condemns Nigeria’s Centenary Celebration Plan by ba7man(m): 8:59am On Oct 02, 2013
Afam4eva: Why didn't you change the name of the country when you gained independence from the colonial powers to mark the beginning of a new nation. Nigeria has always existed since 1914 as a country despite being a British colony and it remains Nigeria's birthday. I don't even know why anyone would argue that. Fashola goofed on this one.
Which one would you celebrate??

The day you were moved to "BLOCK C" in prison to join other prisoners.............Or the day you and the other prisoners in "BLOCK C" gained your freedomhuh

G.E.J's habit of remaining silent over the most pressing issues that require his leadership is also quite disturbing.

Its actions like this that cause him to loose respect......or do you think people just woke up one day and said....."Hey, let's start insulting our President"??

With all the meetings they've been holding, what have they achieved??

Worry about Governors that will deliver the dividends of democracy effectively, not the ones that attended the SS/SE Governor's Forum meeting.

He's always stayed in the house in Magodo. I see him on sundays driving his red CLK.

The house is definitely not worth N150million but its value is around N70million. There's no way a house can cost as low as N20million in Magodo phase 2.

There's a possibility that he bought the house off its owners. That's what's most likely.

@Decryptor

As for that school...LMAO! It looked like what Hurricane Eko caressed grin grin
How do you acomplish achievements normally way beyond you??

You develop an idea and you search for investors to invest in it. LASG developed the idea, approached Chagoury to invest in it and provided him with the political backing to carry it out.

I'm just a regular guy in the construction industry but i could also develop a Building design idea and shop for someone to invest his money in the construction. That way, he gets paid, I get paid and people that will occupy the building will also be happy.

With advanced thinking, Lagos gets to develop a brand new city that will make the rest of Nigeria look like a village..........without having to touch its IGR or go "cap in hand" to the FG.

If you're Governors are intelligent, they had better start shopping for investors to carry out grand projects in their states or risk them looking like sleepy villages for the next 20years.
Travel › Re: Intercontinental Lagos - Tallest Hotel In West-Africa - Launched by ba7man(m): 6:51am On Oct 01, 2013
Slowly and surely, the Nigerian Landscape is Changing.

Old dilapidated buildings are being torn down and replaced with new ones.

Malls, hotels, housing estates, refurbished buildings etc are being developed again.......Compared to the stagnation of the late 80s and 90s era, Nigeria is moving again.

pro01: A massive N30b ($200m) 'investment' created a paltry 650 jobs?

Besides, who patronises these overpriced 'luxury' hotels for pete's sake? I'm sure they are not "tourists" as the state government deludedly advertises. There are already too many of these vanity projects in Lagos, and I don't see how we need more.

It wouldn't be a bad idea for the thieves who finance these white elephants (whilst hiding behind the facade of foreign partners) to consider channeling their loot towards more productive investments - that would have a greater impact on the state's development and benefit a greater number of ordinary people.. . .in terms of job creation and otherwise.
And you wonder why your State looks like a big Village.

If only you'd think harder, you'll realize that there are thousand more jobs that are tied to the daily operations of this hotel........Let me help you out.....The cabs that will service the Hotel, The Food delivery, Drinks that will be purchased.....

Had to change the station.
