Politics › Re: The Fashola Vs Akpabio Thread. by ba7man(m): 2:07pm On Sep 15, 2013
The Public/Private Partnership encouraged by Governor Fashola is the future of development in this Country.

The Governor initiates a programme or project and invite the general public to invest in it. That way, the investors get a return on their investment, the Government gets paid through tax returns and remittance and a service is rendered to the people.

That's how Lagos has being able to carry out various projects and programmes at the same time. Isn't that better than waiting for your Governors to use State funds to carry out those mediocre projects??

If a State Governor keys into this PPP vision, I'm sure a lot of people will return to their region to invest and reap rewards......not by opening Ibaka Port, or building those empty roads all over Akwa-Ibom State.

So much is going on in Lagos right now and that is driving it economically out of the reach of any State in Nigeria.

And you wonder why your locations remain sleepy towns and villages??

agbameta: You are messing up the thread? Damn!! What is wrong with you? huh
Its people like that they refer to as " over-sabi Houseboy".

Doing the works no one asked them to do.

jmaine: Wrong logic . . .The shabby look of the uncompleted Lekki Ajah 50 billion road is not because of any traffic.

It has been like that since inception. Population indices can never be used to justify a shabby job at inception.

unless you want to tell us the Lekki Hitech road had the same finese like the JB roads in AKS.
Those Lagos roads never have an inception. The first day of their opening and they handle more traffic than those AKS roads will handle in a month.
Politics › Re: The Fashola Vs Akpabio Thread. by ba7man(m): 12:55pm On Sep 14, 2013
jmaine: In terms of quality or what ?

Even the quality of the already tolled Lekki Ajah 50 billion naira road doesn't hold a candle to those roads in AKS.
Why won't the roads in AKS hold their nice looks longer?? When they're being plyed by okadas and keke Marwas.

When they start handling the pressures of Lagos like traffic, that's when I'll reckon with them.

emiye: A semi- mansion built in the midst of huts will appear more special than a mansion built amidst mansions.

Akpabio's work should reflect more, since he has a much more rural like state to develop

Traffic and Waste management is enough headache for a state with 20 million inhabitants.
Just the ingenious way Gov Fashola tackled the problem of waste evacuation is revolutionary in Nigeria.

He encouraged private investors to purchase garbage trucks and register waste disposal comapnies. They register with the Lagos State Government and you're given a number of streets you're to service. The residents pay you and you remit a certain amount back to LASG. Everybody's happy and more people get paid.

emiye: I tire oooo

If truly he is exceptional, lets see those things he has done, not computer rendering, he has a budget per capital over 4 times that of Lagos embarassed embarassed embarassed. He has spent the same number of years as Fashola.
When you look beyond those roads, you realize that not much is going on.

I've never seen the picture of the C.B.D of Uyo.....that's if it has any, all they keep posting as the high point of Uyo is those flyovers. If banks haven't started struggling for space to build branches in Uyo, it means there's still no money in circulation in the "City" and it remains in the State Government's hands........Guess where the banks AKS's money is are located.
Politics › Re: The Fashola Vs Akpabio Thread. by ba7man(m): 12:14pm On Sep 14, 2013
The same set of empty roads and 2 flyovers from different angles are alway being presented everytime.

When asked further, Akwa-Ibom Tropicana and the Stadium is added.

Frankly, its becoming void to me.

I saw the elevated railline and the train stations being constructed by Fashola + the expanded Badagry expressway complete with pedestrian bridges and elevated catwalks to the stations. This project alone is driven by far more vision than Akpabio can comprehend.

The intelligence behind the Eko-Atlantic city alone, killing 2 birds with one stone by protecting the already eroding shoreline by building a futuristic model city and realizing that inviting investors would make it happen faster that using State funds.......Man, is that not a person thinking far above the norm??

Rather than building roads that are being plyed by one the highest number of Keke Marwa in Nigeria. Akwa-Ibom remains a town with well tarred roads.
Politics › Re: I Am Not Afraid Of You ––governor Lamido Dares Jonathan by ba7man(m): 7:23am On Sep 14, 2013
This G.E.J is the most disrespected and insulted President ever.

He lacks so much "Charisma" which some people mistake as "Humility", that's why a lot of Governors chip away at him.
Politics › Re: I Am Not Afraid Of You ––governor Lamido Dares Jonathan by ba7man(m): 10:15pm On Sep 13, 2013
I dislike G.E.J but that doesn't mean I'll automatically run into the arms of anyone that opposes him.
Politics › Re: Akwa Ibom Prison Is Finer Than Some Noise Makers Achievements by ba7man(m): 8:51pm On Sep 13, 2013
Pls, someone should post pics of the C.B.D in Uyo......there has to be one or else Uyo is a town with good roads.

There is no basis of comparism. The whole Uyo can't be as big as Yaba alone.....or even half as developed.

Akpabio is still laying the foundation of what Lagos has been for almost a century.
Politics › Re: Akwa Ibom Prison Is Finer Than Some Noise Makers Achievements by ba7man(m): 4:50pm On Sep 13, 2013
Akwa-Ibom needs a central business district, it needs that more than it needs prisons to be considered a city.

As long as Uyo, its capital doesn't have a C.B.D, it remains a town with good roads, that's all.

Ikeja, Lagos Island, Victoria Island, Yaba, Surulere, Apapa, Isolo, Maryland all have a C.B.D more developed than most cities in Nigeria. Akwa-Ibom remains a town beside Lagos.

A plane in flight is just a more luxurious bus flying in the air, not romantic enough with possible weirdos on-board.

The world's tallest building will provide a view to captivate both of you till you drop the big question.

Everybody, even Baba Suwe flies on planes, its nothing special.
Politics › Re: Onitsha Shut-down Over Drugs Ban Protests by ba7man(m): 7:25am On Sep 13, 2013
Drugs are a highly sensitive to sell. Rather than close the market totally, the Drugs being sold should be regulated by a control body to stop the dealers of fake drugs mixing with the legit ones.

zegbeye: My bros,Lagos is what it is today basically because it used to be the Nigeria political capital. I also want you to know Akpabio is already investing in human resources, that is why there is free and compulsory education up to the secondary level. Also there are a lot of Akwa-Ibomites that have benefited in the state government scholarship to study within and outside Nigeria. You will also agree with me, that no big business will start-up operation in a place where there are no good infrastructures...therefore Akpabio heavy investment in road construction,Airport, seaport and sport complex is in the right direction. Maybe we should find out what Dubai was like 25 to 30 years ago until the infrastructures started. The businesses will come,it is only a matter of time @ The tourist attraction in Australia, I have been living and working here in western Australia for the past 7 years and I have never seen or heard of such tourist attraction, kindly send me a link so that I can visit this place please.
At least whatever the next set of Governors do, they have a fresh template to work with and can avoid the unplanned nature of Lagos that Governors struggle to keep up with.

About the highway, I don't have info on it either, I just read about it in an article talking about the making of "The most expensive scenes ever in movies".
Politics › Re: Fashola Commissions 7km Oshorun/ibeshe Road In Ikorodu by ba7man(m): 1:59pm On Sep 11, 2013
zegbeye: Association of Pain congress (APC) I am from Urung Esin,Oron LG of Akwa-Ibom state and without intimidation you can google what my state government right from Attah to Akpabio have achieved in real road construction and not this road dressing going on in lagos state. Many Governors aside my Governor have all performed without going to the media.
As much as i admire what Akapbio is doing concerning roads in Akwa-Ibom, all those his projects are what should be expected concerning the allocation he recieves and low population he has to cater to.

Have u seen Matrix 2 ?? The producers went out into the desert in Australia and built a highway complete with fly-overs and did the car-chase scene on it..........Its currently a tourist attraction but its empty at the moment.

If Akpabio or subsequent Governors don't think harder on how to develop the human resources of the State, those roads will continued to be plyed by Keke-marwa, bicycles and the larger population will keep trekking on those beautiful roads.

Akwa-Ibom is still at the begining of a long race.

Councillors are opening 5km road without making public noise this 1 is busy talking about 7km road. Rubbish
Mention one councillor that has commissioned a 4 lane 5km road complete with drainage and streetlights with location details or shut up.

theoctopus: Stup1d article from another paid journalist in APC payroll. Govs have always been regularly out of their states since Nigeria began. Why did the writer ommit APC goes who are permanently on campaign right now, even with 2015 two years away? Propaganda as always. Next... grin
Very *intelligent* analysis from you.

APC concocted all those lies against Governors that were actually hard at work in their various states and paid off all the Newspapers to spread the same propaganda.

Clap for yourself.

BetaThings: Yes the victims of Fukushima and Chernobyl do know that the fears were over dramatised

Anyway, if a fire breaks out on the 9th floor in a building tell me what will happen in this "new" era
Highly developed, efficient and spohisticated nations like Russia and Japan struggled to contain the Nuclear accidents they experienced.

I just wonder how Nigeria would deal with that kind of situation.

Those advicing that it be built in the arid regions in the North forget that the staffs still need to have their residence close-by.

Also, if there's an accident by mistake, the radiation will simply follow the winds downwards to the South.......what do you think Harmattan is all about??

That Harmattan will be bloody.

A lot of people project false images of themselves online. Lot of liars on this forum.

We find it hard to maintain roads, bridges, buildings etc.....we now want to add Nuclear Reactors to that list??
Politics › Re: Molue Banned From Lagos Island by ba7man(m): 9:56pm On Sep 05, 2013
Those Molues should be banned, crushed and their scraps melted.

Those vehicles aren't fit to transport animals, let alone human beings.

It you refuse to step up your game, you'll get left behind.
