Fhemmmy: Kai, you scare me oh, i never knew was a concept ride, i thought it is already on the street . . . tongue
I wouldn't mind if they make it. They need radical "halo" cars like this since Mclaren and Ferrari are currently miles ahead of Lamborghini in term of technology. They would be more concerned making their SUV instead. Comming soon 2015. Mr Fhemmmy, start saving towards this one instead.

Wsdm: Have their been any peace in the Niger- Delta? The violence was just transformed from pipe vandalism to serious oil theft. I do not know how their planned violence can spread throughout the country. They may only end up destroying their regions as the boko haram is doing right now.
Well said. What ever they do, they should keep it in their region.

This is what 600bhp worth of selfishness and celebration wrapped up in aluminium, carbon fibre and anti-radar material looks like. Welcome everyone, to Lamborghini, and the new Egoista concept car. Wipe down the windows on your way in, please.

It is the offspring of VW Group design chief Walter De Silva, built especially for Lamborghini’s 50th anniversary and unveiled on the final day of the awe-inspiringGrande Giro tour through Italy (which you can follow up on TopGear.com shortly). Put simply, it is a car made purely for ego. Says De Silva: “It represents hedonism taken to the extreme. It is a car without compromises.”

Quite. Underneath sits a very modified version of the 5.2-litre V10 from the Gallardo, here tweaked to produce 600bhp, sitting underneath a simply bonkers exterior styled using inspiration from an Apache helicopter. The cockpit can even be ejected in an emergency, if you so wish. Typical Lamborghini, then.

De Silva and his design team wanted Lamborghini’s famous icon to shine through the design, so the side flanks are there to represent a ‘bull preparing to charge, horns lowered’. There’s no aero on top, but flaps in the bodywork that flip open or closed automatically depending on driving conditions. There are two at the back to increase stability, and a series of intakes on the back of the engine hood to increase cooling for the V10.

There are LED clearance lights at the front in place of traditional headlights, ‘bull’s eyes’ orange side indicators, red rear lights and two more lights on the roof, with two ‘eagle eyes’ hidden in the front intakes; these are used to ‘scan the darkness for great distances’. Any intelligent aliens roaming our galaxy may mistake this Egoista in the dark as one of their own.

As mentioned, that body is made up of carbon fibre and aluminium, using aeronautical-spec antiradar material, and anti-glare glass too. Inside, there’s just a single racing seat with a four-point seatbelt, and a head-up display and steering wheel formed after longingly looking at pictures of jet fighters. And the entrance too is similarly Top Gun: there isn’t a door, but a domed roof that flips open, meaning the driver must stand up in his or her seat, swivel their legs over and literally jump out. Maverick? You had better hope so.

“It’s as if Ferruccio Lamborghini were saying, ‘I’m going to put the engine in the back, I don’t want a passenger, I want it for myself’” says De Silva about his creation.......God punish poverty.

Fixing an appointment with them is even a problem because they have far bigger fish to fry than the pesky N60million proposal you're bringing to their table.....Except you're talking about Politicians that we all know how they got their money, fraudulent individuals and those lousy, illiterate rich men that wear terribly loud clothings, wide brimmed hats and use walking canes. From experience, its the lousy ones that don't have money. Empty barrels make the loudest noise.

tomakint: This is where I get discombobulated easily, explain to us why the regional leaders will still continue ripping their people off, at least we had a Biafra before, and the Igbos were not complaining about their leaders ripping them off, please educate us on this 'rip off philosophy'!
We see the huge allocations Niger Delta Governors receive still there is agitation amongst its people. Millitancy came to rise due to certain issues experienced in that region but has the ammnesty adressed these issues?? No despite the large sums of money released to service this program. It has only given rise to more billionaires while the larger population wallows in poverty. I sometimes feel the summary of all the agitation for division of this Country bows down to control of Oil. That is so shallow when there are singular companies that generate more income than Nigeria.

You won't apologize?? I'm gutted. Anyway, Breaking up won't stop the regional leaders from ripping their people off though.

I just hope the division won't lead to the rise of militia groups fighting for control of Oil-rich territories in the Delta area.

tomakint: Not what you think Gay man undecided
Hey, no need for name calling, that was an innocent observation. @Topic. Division has and will never be the solution to the problems the different regions face in this country. Frankly, i don't care if this country divides but people have to realize its their immediate leaders that have and will always benefit from this nation's wealth. Niger-Delta has produced new billionaires from the ammnesty program but have its issues been addressed?? No. Their Governors are the richest in this country but its people still remain one of the poorest.

So everything that goes "BOOM"!!! is a bomb?? What of exploding gas canisters??

Lagos is the third worst city to live in.......If you're poor. I'm not rich but i woke up in an airconditioned room, dressed up in a nice suit, hitched a ride to work in a BMW X5, A friend came to pick me up for a meeting in V.I in his airconditioned car, I'm currently typing this in an airconditioned reception, probably go get lunch once i'm done. My day, so far in the third worst city to live in the world. There's always two sides to a book.

kettykings: With the coming in on stream of 3 Deep sea Port in the Niger Delta , the estabishment of 5 international Airpotrs within that region the relocation of the multibillion dollar LNG and very soon the Oil Multi Nationals , the redirection of the Diaspora igbo investments and investments from Niger Deltans back to the Zone and the emigration of igbos and Niger deltans from the North back to the zone , the building of world class infrastructures and the stabilization of electricity within that zone, their is a gradual economic paradigm shift back to where it rightly belongs
You just hit the nail on the head with the word "Emmigration". It has to be en-mass and providing the right industries should see to that. Its actually going to be benefitial to all regions because it reduces the unecessary pressure on Lagos and growth is transfered to other regions. Having diferent regions enjoying Economic growth will suit this Country better than one location being burdened by trying to keep up. It would also accelerate development through competition.

It was one of the smart moves made by Obasanjo by discouraging importation of most of these foreign brands. A lot of them were forced to start producing locally in order to still have access to the Nigerian Market. At least, its a step in the right direction since the manufacturing takes place in Nigeria.
Politics › Re: Do You Consciously Patronise Made In Nigeria Products? by ba7man(m): 9:41am On May 04, 2013
Sincere 9gerian: You'r talking of a "global future" when these products are yet to make an impact in the local market? Lets tackle the local market first
Reach for the stars so that if you fail, you'll at least catch the moon. The further you can see, the bigger your products can become. Plan as if you're going global and target locally. A local product with a global appeal can never fail. Imagine packaging a locally made product like palmwine in a bottle as goodlooking as Heineken's. That's what our local manufacturers should aim at.
Politics › Re: Lagos State Bus Production Plant In Epe. by ba7man(m): 8:34am On May 04, 2013
kettykings: Actually rather than bicker over the move by lagos Government to build or encourage the building of Local bus assembly plants instead of patronizing already existing privately owned Bus manufacturing plans in Nnewi or even going into partnership with the Nnewi based bus manufacturing firm with its array of Local auto parts production firms,
the East can take the following measures patronize only Ports based in the East (this will whittle down the maritime Lagos maritime traffic, patronize only international Airports based in the East for their business and leisure travels ,use only Eastern based Television and Radio stations for their adverts. patronize food and retail outlets owned by easterner, Eat only food ,drinks bottled in the East, Eat only processed foods made in the east
Too late, the damage has already been done. Why do you think they all patronize Lagos?? Because that is the largest market for anything you plan on doing in Nigeria. The population is the attraction not the institutions. So unless there is a mass exodus of residents back to their regions, all these plans won't work.
Politics › Re: Do You Consciously Patronise Made In Nigeria Products? by ba7man(m): 8:14am On May 04, 2013
Sincere 9gerian: Even if they'r imitations, provided the quality is good, nothing spoil. China started by imitating established products
It limits growth of the product when the branding is an immitation. Chinese immitation brands can't go mainstream and are constantly facing legal battles with original brands when they get too mainstream. Their automobile industry is riddled with this problem, they're either getting sued by Toyota or BMW for ripping off their designs or technology. Not a good business model for a manufacturer that has his eyes on a global future.
