AwodwaGyanOniwe: @Proxytalk
If Naijas economy was growing at that juggled rate we'd see that on her people. Tell do u still have 112million poor people, biggest number of slums, bad roads, poor electricity. Actually one city in SA can light whole of nigeria. YES SMALL NIGERIA. As said OIL DISCOVERIES in Kenya, Namibia,Madagascar,SA etc..are gonna slow ur growth.

The problem is ur so HUNGRY TO SEE THE BIGGER PICTURE. grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin
Damn!! Are u unemployed or out of school or somthing's wrong with your lifehuh I noticed you running all over Nairaland earlier, i logged out, sent some e-mails, made phone calls, fixed 2 appointments, took someone to the hospital, had a meeting with my partners and planned on our next move.....I logged back on and YOU'RE STILL HERE!!! Prattling on like a b*tch on her period or a fat, black market woman. Damn!! Go acheive something first, how can you waste your life like this??

AwodwaGyanOniwe: CAPE TOWNS FUTURE DEVELOMENTS

MERGING THE CITY WITH THE PEOPLE The oil findings(Namibia and west coast of SA and other parts of our waters) will make this project easier for the state. Yes I mentioned Namibia because theyr one of our provinces/states we share alot in common language and alles. Their oil findings has led us to our findings that we had oil in the ATLANTIC OCEAN, Orange Basin and Outeniqua Basin and on the INDIAN OCEAN Mozambiques and Madagascar(21bbl of oil) findings have led us to findings in Zululand coast.

Lupe is fvckin AVERAGE.
Personally, I prefered J.cole's mix-tapes. He was all out in them but had to dumb down his lyrics and word play for his album for commercial appeal. He fell of my rader for a while.....Until i heard some of his new Sh*t....That dude never left, you gotta find him where he is.

True, Amosun left the works to the the true owners but this would never have happened if the road had been fixed promptly. To avoid opposition playing politics with projects, FG should attend to them on time. If there's no FG responsibility lying fallow, there would be non to play politics with.

There seem to be no business district. At least i haven't seen the pics of any corporate building.

Politics › Re: No Oil???? Chinese Company Abandons $8bn Lagos Refinery Project by ba7man(m): 3:21pm On Apr 14, 2013
I think its better there's no oil in Lagos. Look at all the States that have it and see what's going on there. Even Anambra that just joined the club is already facing their own problem. P.S: I hate the Chinese.
Politics › Re: Uyo - City Of Peace And Beauty (Pictures) by ba7man(m): 6:12am On Apr 14, 2013
Nice pics. I like the fact that instead of cutting down the greenery, they preserved it. Roads against the vegetation as backdrop makes Uyo picturesque. Still little going on there though because of the small population. I mean, there should be a picture of its Central Business District. Lack of congestion makes it a good place to go relax. It should be developed as a Tourist city.
Politics › Re: A Rising Colossus - Pictures Of Lagos by ba7man(m): 5:07pm On Apr 13, 2013
kettykings: You can present what ever facts you feel i omitted, i did not intend to overawe any nerve but as a widely traveled and knowledgeable person to present the facts the way it is rather than be carried away by regional sentiments and lagos champion euphoria.
The title of the thread said rising Colossus , this is wrong Lagos is not a rising Colossus , Lagos is saturated and congested with very little room for growth and expansion compared with Akwa Ibom (the fastest growing state in Nigeria at the moment), the title should have read something like Lagos the saturated colossus or Lagos the aged Colossus.

in 2013 Lagos spent N333B over a human population of 18M or 9 M official population
Lagos spends 37,000 per individual a far outcry lower than 90% of the Niger Delta states

while Akwa Ibom spent N459.2 over a population of 5 million official estimates
Akwa Ibom spends 91840 per individual more than 200% over what lagos spends on an individual , this makes Akwa Ibom the undisputed Giant of and Rising Colossus of Nigeria

i am very sure the figures from the Core Niger Delta states will be very intimidating and mind blowing but i decided to use Lagos and Akwa Ibom for the comparison

Being a Colossus is not just the Roads and houses with paved and interlocking stones and solar powered street lights in a boulevard in Ikoyi or lekki but boils down to some very vital fundamentals, just like nobody buys or invest into a company based on the Company premises , official cars, well manned lawns and painted factory buildings without looking into the books of the company

Lets trade facts and not insults
All this story you wrote doesn't change the fact that Lagos dwarfs Akwa-Ibom in everything and that doesn't seem its about to change for the next 100 years and beyond. Companies can't situate their HQs there because nothing is happening there. Akwa-Ibom ought to have attracted international attention if it was showing all that potential but its only attracted yours so far.

I think the World cup is overrated. The Champion's League is more competitive and the quality of opposition is far better than what you meet at the World Cup. No doubt, its interesting to watch but Its main allure is the facts that its teams represent Countries.

Politics › Re: Your Contribution Is Needed On This Issue by ba7man(m):
bilms: Dear nl, i am to present a paper as a keynote speaker on the challenges facing Africa as a continent and the role of the youths in taking the continent out of the current bondage. What do you think are the major challenges facing Africa and how do you think it could be solved, especially by the youths.
Africa as a whole has faced a long period of stagnation and let me highlight reasons i feel this has been the reason.

(1)EDUCATIONAL ORIENTATION: The African Youth is educated to be a "Job seeker" and not a "Job Creator". Its not the knowledge you have that sets you free but what you do with it. That results in generations waiting on their Governments to provide Jobs for them. Ask them why they are unemployed and they are quick to say "The Government did not provide jobs for us". This can also be called ignorance. We hardly research, read, develop, improve on things around us so we're comfortably stuck in our comfort zones.

SPIRITUAL ORIENTATION: In the past, the Black Race Worshipped gods of fear. It was the norm to have Evil forests no one must visit, rivers that have to be appeased with scrifices sometimes human lives, Oceans, Mountains, Trees that must be worshipped etc. They were so busy worshipping them they failed to realize the natural resources that lay abound in them.

That and countless superstisions limited our ability to explore and discover new things. Rather that search for a cure for Chicken-pox, some worshipped it, rather than cross an ocean, they worshipped it, Rather than cut a tree and use it for furniture, they worshipped it. Today, we still worship Rich people and Political figures and this still part of what's holding us back.

SOCIAL ORIENTATION: "How dare you correct your elders??" "Shut up!! You're too young, what do you know??" "Do you know who i am??". These are statements commonly made amongst Africans (They are countless more).

They are designed to provide perceived elders and superiors with impunity and subjugate those beneath them and they all gladly fall in line. An elder can do no wrong and who are you to correct them?? I remember OBJ lambasting a jounalist for daring to ask him a certain question.

LEADERSHIP: A bad system will keep creating bad Leaders. We give our leaders too much power and respect. The few people able to surround them fight tooth and nail to ensure that this is the norm. We have RULERS in Africa and not LEADERS. I won't say much on this because everyone in this section is a political Analyst and will have their own oppinion.

But there is light at the end of the tunnel. I'm currently with an 18 year old female painter and she's talking about having her own paint manufacturing company. There's a new generation of African Youth that aren't waiting to be spoon fed but are taking their destinys into their own hands. That is the future of Africa.

Politics › Re: Don't Disrupt Projects In Your Areas Uduaghan Tells Host Communities by ba7man(m): 6:29am On Apr 12, 2013
Very true. Some groups there have the habit of demanding for money from companies executing projects in their communities or threaten to disrupt the project. They now cry later that they are being neglected. I come to help you out and you ask me to pay you money to do that, how daft.
Music/Radio › Re: Ghanaians Mocking P-square's Alingo by ba7man(m):
They are wealthy and successful, yes. But isn't there something distasteful about stealing from other artists wholesale?

My first introduction to P-Square was this knockoff version they made of Usher's + Lil Jon's "Yeah."

So obviously I had a quite bad impression based on that.

Long story short, stealing from others isn't a good look.
You have a point there. They are the kings of Rip-off in Nigeria. They could have called their dance anything other than "Alingo" which sounds and looks like "Azonto". A lot of their past songs too are blatant copies of other songs. But despite all this, I'm sure a P-Square concert in Ghana will still be sold-out.

I used to mock P-square too....Till i concluded that they are Richer, more Famous and sucessful than i am. Whatever they are doing, they are very sucessful at it so make these Ghanians go rest.

lookmangiw: with the $ 700 billion, they couldn't defeat the taliban insurgents.
If America kills 10,000 of your troops and you kill 500 American troops, they consider it a loss. The Taliban Celebrate whenever they kill American troops but America just counts their kills as casualties of war. Also remember that when you fight the USA, they bring it to your doorstep. They'll fight it out in your homes and cities while their citizens watch it all on TV.

berem: all these you mentioned except prostitution is happening in my estate. so what's the diff? there is constant raid on the miscreants by police in America but here it's totally different. Police officers are also involved in the crimes. So there is no difference.
I know your estate very well and it can never be compared to what you have in the American projects. Have you seen crack fiends before?? Or girls that sleep with guys for crack?? Trust me, the guys in you estate don't walk around with guns tucked in their trousers. They are pooossy cats compared to what you get in the American projects.

berem: So you wanna tell me there is no crime in LASG houses? You no know say thief dey climb ceiling enter pesin house? If you are talking of congestion, Only the heat and power failure is enough to roast someone alive. Even with cross ventilation btw not all the buildings are cross ventilated, the heat is terrible. I live in a Jakande Estate so i know what am saying.
You're more likely to sell hard drugs, used hard drugs, engage in prostitution, be a victim of violent crimes eg stabbing and violent assults with weapons,r.ape or get shot in an American project. They kill in American projects and the police does nothing about it. To those celebrating American projects, if that's what you want for your lives, keep wishing them on yourselves but I'll prefer to live in the LASG housing estates in GRA Ikeja than be exposed to all the social ills that come with living in those American projects.

Look at the American building project and imagine the number of low income earners that will reside in it......Now look at the LASG housing project and picture the number of Mid-income earners that will reside in it. I don't know about you but I'll choose living in the LASG housing project in Ikeja GRA any day than living in the American one in America.
