The S.E can come out better for it if only they remain at peace with the other regions and focus heavily on manufacturing. They have a knack for making stuff, They can start off by selling to other regions before they start exporting to other African Countries.

Some sit on their lazy backsides drinking palmwine and screaming "Our Oil is what's used to develop Nigeria!!!" Which development?? The Oil money has never been felt in this Country...... I just hope those powerful oil bunkerers don't already have an army of millitants and a large stash of weapons to defend their business incase this nation divides(Which i belive they already do)....... Rather than face their leaders that allow foreign companies and other Nigerians exploit them after collecting money, they face the west and say "You will not get our Oil money" Which oil money??
Politics › Re: Who Suffers If Nigeria Divides? by ba7man(m): 12:45am On May 31, 2013
Hey!! I finally get it. Its the Ex presidents, Federal Government officials, Ministers, Senators, Legislators, Governors, top NNPC officials and othe politicians that get to suffer because the Oil money will no longer flow the way it used to. As for the masses in all regions, the oil money never got to you all so life will be business as usual.
Politics › Re: Who Suffers If Nigeria Divides? by ba7man(m): 12:33am On May 31, 2013
I'm currently about to sleep in darkness which is a normal thing, fuel is so expensive, the roads are messed up......the environment is nothing to write home about....Where exactly is this oil money affecting my life?? Benin Republic has it better and they don't have oil so no one should give me that "Oil" bullsh*t.
Politics › Re: Who Suffers If Nigeria Divides? by ba7man(m): 12:23am On May 31, 2013
Mogidi: .

I like your enthusiasm but still surprised you guys are not using this "human resources" you so eloquently believe would elevate your region. Btw have you checked the prize of cocoa recently? If your region expect to rely on cocoa for export, then Oguduwa republic is dead on arrival.

Listen bonehead, your progeny will never benefit from our oil, now say amen!
This oil you so belive in isn't really felt by the population. I mean, does Nigeria look, feel or operate as an Oil producing Country should?? The larger percentage of money generated from "Your Oil" is used to maintain the most expensive Government in the World, Bunkered off by your kins men, Shared by Niger-Delta ministries and its State Governments and fraudulently used to enrich NNPC top officials and Top Government officials. Its practically crumbs that falls off the table. There will be little difference if this nation divides and its supply is cut off. This Country has never enjoyed the Oil wealth, its only a few that did. Its Abuja that will bear the brunt of it, the west will be just fine.
Politics › Re: Who Suffers If Nigeria Divides? by ba7man(m): 12:00am On May 31, 2013
To those thinking Crude-Oil is their God......A thinking, innovative population is far more important than all the Crude-Oil in the World. "The most valuable resource a country can have is its human resource".....not crude-oil. If you don't belive this, sorry, but you're not intelligent enough.
Politics › Re: Who Suffers If Nigeria Divides? by ba7man(m): 11:51pm On May 30, 2013
Mogidi: You continue to repeat the Sw will be prosperous without explaining where the money will come from. Citing a country like kenya is silly because the dynamics are different, where's your Massai mara?
The money will come from Crude-Oil, Cocoa (You need to visit OAU university campus to know what was acheived with Cocoa money), Bitumen, other cash crops we can grow. We will always come out sucessful because we know how to set aside differences and come together to acheive common goals. We also have a diverse and intelligent population that will continue to fuel the service based industries.......see, its not only crude-oil that's an industry. This will also allow us explore manufacturing things for Chrissake!!!...."Made in Oduduwaland". I used Kenya as an example because they have abundant wildlife and instead of killing them, they harnessed them to boost their tourism......they were "Thinking". Using your brain is important, far more important than Crude-oil.

Politics › Re: Who Suffers If Nigeria Divides? by ba7man(m): 11:34pm On May 30, 2013
With the huge allocation the Niger Delta is receiving ATM, there are still Non-oil producing African Nations that receive less but have it better than them. So what's the big deal?? The greater percentage of the Oil is even squandered on a few so its not as if the masses really feel it in the first place. Trust me, That crude oil some place their hopes on is over-rated.
Politics › Re: Who Suffers If Nigeria Divides? by ba7man(m): 11:28pm On May 30, 2013
Mogidi: This would rank as one of the biggest deceit in human history if the west indeed have the above yet rely solely on our oil. Sorry to have to spell it out crudely, but without our crude (pun intended) you guys will starve.
Wrong...How much does each western state receive as monthly allocation due to Oil?? Now how easy do you think it would be to create alternate industries that will generate the equivalent or more?? Do you think its Only oil companies that are present in the west?? Don't be Miopic, there are tonnes of companies that generate way more income than Nigeria. You are part of those that belive there is little or no life outside crude-oil. Crude thinking. The west will be prosperous. Do you even know how many African Countries that don't have oil but are still flourishing?? Kenya for example. Learn to think not belive Crude oil is your Alpha and Omega.
Politics › Re: Who Suffers If Nigeria Divides? by ba7man(m): 11:18pm On May 30, 2013
Afam4evaIsASlut: Dont worry, you'll find out useful that Oil is to you when the U.S becomes the largest Oil producer in the world by 2015. When they become independent of foreign Petroleum producers in less than 48 months I'd like you to come repeat this rubbish your monkey mouth blurted out.

If the West is smart they'll be vigorously pushing for Nigeria's disintegration starting now cus major shiyyyt is about to hit the fan.
They'll sell to China.....but is there a guarantee that their average citizen will feel its effect?? I don't think so because currently, with the money being pumped into that region, there isn't much to show for it so what's the guarantee that will change?? As long as they keep looking at other regions as their enemy, their leaders will keep plundering them and get richer. Billionaires will emerge from the Niger Delta but the region will still be stagnant.....Wait....I think its happening already.
Politics › Re: Who Suffers If Nigeria Divides? by ba7man(m): 11:06pm On May 30, 2013
dayokanu: The West has Oil and natural resources, Has a natural coast line, Has a world class Port, An International airport, Has several industries, Has a large population to support it, has fertile land for agriculture and highly educated and responsible citizens things some regions can only wish for

And in the West they dont wake their father fro bed with sliding tackles grin grin grin grin

I no mention anyone name oo
May the most welcoming and religious tolerant region win. Crude oil, diamonds in the hands of idiots will lead to war but a barren desert in the hands of intelligent individuals will lead to a fertile farmland and plentiful harvest for all. The human brain is the most important resource....not Crude-oil. Think people, THINK!!!
Politics › Re: Who Suffers If Nigeria Divides? by ba7man(m): 11:03pm On May 30, 2013
The most important resource any country can have is its "Human resources" which is determined by how skillful and intelligent they are. Any region that can harness its human resources most effectively will be the most sucessful region. Those thinking there is no life outside oil will end up killing themselves over it......Wait....they've already started killing themselves, kidnapping themselves, stealing the oil(bunkering), destroying their environment themselves by blowing up pipelines in the name of protesting, fighting themselves...... "Where great natural resources is discovered in Africa, people there suffer a great deal". Its a normal occurence in Africa.
Politics › Re: Who Suffers If Nigeria Divides? by ba7man(m): 10:54pm On May 30, 2013
Sadly, there are a lot of dullards above me. There are companies that their annual turn over is far more than the total amount we realize from Oil. Switzland has no oil or natural resource but is far richer than Nigeria, Japan has little resources but is a far richer country than Nigeria. The west has a Vibrant population, crude-oil, Bitumen, Cocoa, Limestone and arable land for cash crops to mention a few. The west will have it best because peace is required for progress. I just hope the South East and Niger Delta region don't get stuck in a battle for control of oil resources because we all know that those kinds of resources lead to civil wars in Africa.

Those Danfo drivers gotta bring their Gala, Paraga, cigarette, kolanut selling girlfriends along. And they'll be emergency bustops, hold-ups and soon a small market will pop-up in Lekki Phase 1. Fashola will then get pissed and clear em out........Which will lead us back to dudes opening threads on Nairaland saying "Fashola is anti-poor" and "Fashola declares war on the poor".

Dolemite: Nigeria: nothing works here, NOTHING!
By making this statement (I pray you don't truely belive in it though), you have unconciously signed it that nothing will work for you in this Country. Haven't you heard of far worse train derailment in Countries like China and India with high death tolls?? What do you expect them to say??

Duru1: The only political sophistication in southwestern region of Nigeria is found rigidly under tribal bias. The politics of southwest are sectional fueled by broad sense of tribal bigotry.
Tribal bias?? You have no knowledge of Nigeria's Political Landscape. When Obasanjo was in power, his greatest critics were Yorubas....His own people. When Turai refused to hand over to GEJ, Yourubas were part of those that fought on his behalf. We fight, we protest whenever we are slighted and don't utter that backward statement "Our son's in Power". Who cares if he's our son?? If he messes up, kick him out. Spoken like a Yoruba man.

ilugunboy: You still don't get it...do you?

The so called indigents have other alternatives...it's not a MUST they use the bridge.

Those that pay over a thousand Naira daily at the Tarzan jetty for daily crossing to the other side via ferry won't complain.
I even think its the operators of the Tarzan Jetty that should be here complaining because they've just given their patrons a far cheaper means of avoiding traffic.

ZACHIE:
Village life is a peaceful life and we live within our means
We do not make a comparison with other people,s meals. Our meal is enough for us, one family at a time.
You will think England is your father,s stead.
even besides that, do we have the same earning power as The England you are comparing us to?
See this for an average hardworking Lagosian that is forced to take that Bridge each working day, he must cough out 600/day, which translates 12,000/Month and 144,000 per annum if he must use a bridge built his commonwealth money.
Is it by force to use the bridgehuh There is a cheaper tolled route and a free route. If you can't afford it, drive past it, admire it and go take the cheaper or free route!!! What's so hard to understand there??

To be honest, GEJ might be saying the right or wrong things but he's not inspiring to listen to, neither does he have the charisma to keep one glued to his TV set. I'd rather read it in the pages of the newspapers.

Kairoseki77: At least some of them can ride a giraffe to the E - Library.

At the library they can read books about Lagos and use a dictionary to look up the meaning of the word "development".
Don't bet on it. The Lagos propaganda machine is so strong its taken over libraries and international media as well. The world seems to be buying it

Rather than use the word "Transformation", "Revival" is a better word. Its wonderful that our rail system is working again...those high speed trains will definitely be a welcome transformation. I just pray the progress is swift and the rail system doesn't get stuck in its current working state. Starting up is the hard part...now to improving and sustaining it.

Dude, my office is close to Somolu and i drive through Bariga to avoid the hold up on Ikorodu road. You don't know what you're saying. There is a main road in Somolu that LASG destroyed everyone's fences and reconstructed it to accomodate the road expansion. You're just repeating what you've heard clueless people post on Lag related threads.

Those areas aren't far off from the bushes. Its just that a large no of people move in at almost the same time. Most of them have bushes at walking distance to them. I know b'cos I'v live in Alagbado and Ayobo b4. What used to go through my mind then was...."Why would i want to live here?? The highest i'd do is purchase land here and wait for development to catch up and increase its value". Not move into the area and start complaining bout development. It will get there but its a matter of time. Its only natural........But truely that Ayobo rd really needs to be fixed.

oxford: How many km of road has fashola really constructed? Am amaze at how people like to think that fashola is doing wonders! Lagos is a tiny island and the total km of road from one end of lagos to another is not up to the road linking two LG in other states and yet other governors with the megre income are constructing thousands of km of quality roads withour tolling any.

Propaganda is really effective. And ACN is the mother and great grand father of propaganda politics in Nigeria
You don't live in Lagos from what you've just said and i doubt if you've ever visited it. Where in Nigeria can you drive for hours without a break in densely populated areas. The largest Urban sprawl in West Africa. It needs serious de-population, Fast.
Politics › Re: Is Gov Babatunde Fashola Of Lagos State Really Working? by ba7man(m): 7:36am On May 29, 2013
That's what happens when the rate of uncontrolled urbanization far exceeds the rate of development. You move into a far off outskirt in the bushes and complain that the Government hasn't gotten to you yet. There are priorities to be considered. All these places mentioned are far off from the center and closer to Ogun State, the day work starts in those places know that the problems of Lagos State and this Country are almost at an end.....This is the Largest urban sprawl in West Africa we're talking about and you expect it to be fixed as if its 3 roads we're constructing here.
