No, I don't have the physique and strength for security, prefer support. Just once a week

Morning Babajeje, no - they won't be subject to the new threshold or the higher going rate.

They'll only have to meet the old threshold (now £29k) or the lower occupation going rate - whichever is higher.
Great, thank you

@Zahra29 If someone got a skilled worker visa before changes made in April, will they be subjected to going rate of the new job if they are changing sponsor? The new job is different from what they are doing at the moment but same salary range. Both jobs are in IT

Nigeria government should take this as an example. There must be a clear cut difference between our public institutions and religion, especially in our primary and secondary schools.

Travel / Re: Foreign Carriers Engage In Price War To Frustrate Air Peace Out Of London by babajeje123(m): 6:46pm On Apr 07

Yes, that should have been the right move. Air peace met some airlines operating from Nigeria to UK, it's insensitive of Air peace to slash the pice without no proper consultation with other airlines.

If Air peace ticket to London is $700, na to just drop theirs to $650.

Everyone is allowed to play the game
This is not good. Air Peace is our own and we must do everything to protect her. That said, don't you think other carriers have been deliberate in milking Nigerans using them?

I am still finding it difficult to understand some key words in the link i read. I even had to use chat gpt to understand some parts lol

So are you saying a radiographer with the NHS will still be affected by salary threshold?

So I get a band. 5 radiographer role at 25,000 does this mean I am not qualified to have dependents after April 4?

NHS Band 5 starting salary is £28k with 4k allowance if you're in London and its environs.

How true is this @Zahra?

Travel / Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by babajeje123(m): 9:30am On Mar 20
Zahra29:

Yes, as it's only occupation codes 6145 and 6146 that are in the dependant ban. NHS nursing assistant roles have a different code.
Wow! This sounds good. Pardon my ignorance, are there no salary thresholds on these roles too?

Microsoft's Applied skills for devops security looks like a good one to do for projects on CV.

Lots to do, while looking for £3K to pay Sunak.

We will get there someday cheesy
Congratulations 🎊. Did Cybersecurity too unfortunately didn't get distinction. Just 1 mark made the difference. Fortunately got a role in NHS as a Technical Analyst with sponsorship after few months on post study. Spread your tentacles, don't limit yourself.

Na toddler suppose Dey reason that statement.

Like I said then, come in, pay your rents , enjoy what you pay for. When time is right, you’d effortlessly get your mortgage.

“Rent money is dead money”

Make dem kukuma go sleep for under bridge na.
Bro, I see Lexusgs430 as a guy who doesn't carry the whole world on his chest, probably why he douses tensions with his jokes. Sometimes, the jokes are dry sef undecided cool. But to be candid we need people like him in our virtual spaces just like we all have people like that around us that would make us laugh while crying. So relax, sir.

His opinions are most times not entirely bad. Rent money is a dead money is what I used to convince my madam about getting a mortgage here. We calculated the rent paid in our 3 years here and we found out we were paying someone's mortgage. While I agree with you this may be difficult for new comers however it should be some sort of motivation for them.

Oga Lexus, thanks for all you do here. Please show more empathy when people share their issues. Let there be empathy In-between the jokes, sir. Same thing with aunty Zahra29 Suella grin grin

It's horrible typing on palasa phone. Dash me your phone oga Lexus

Hello, someone who just arrived in the UK is asking where he can get a loan of £2000 to be returned at the end of the month, the bank said it will not be granted due to no credit score. The person is looking for a personal loan or loan shark. Any advice?
It would be a bit difficult for the person to see a random person who would loan them. Why can't they be patient till month end since they would get the £2k by then?

Greetings my people!

Please do non clinical roles (IT to be specific) in the NHS require IHS payment for visa application? Or maybe I should rather ask if all roles within the NHS are exempt from IHS. Thanks
You won't pay IHS if it's a cyber role.

The whole thing is very frustrating. Recently landed a band 6 job in an acute NHS trust. Requested for sponsorship and HR confirmed I would be sponsored, but near my PSW expiry. I've written plenty emails, with lots of evidence, telling them it best to issue the COS now because the salary would be about 2k short of the new threshold come April 2024, but they wouldn't reconsider.
It's things like this that pushes people to care work and makes COS sales business very attractive.

Thank you so much after a month and few weeks of waiting I finally got my decision yesterday. So technical issue does not mean that your CoS has issue it's a generic message to buy time from the standard time set by the HO.
Congratulations
