Babalakin: if you are not already into crypto, it might complicated. Download binance or kucoin app. Buy usdt from any trusted seller and send it to any of the apps above. Then buy ethereum with the usdt in your binance account. Transfer the ethereum to an external wallet like metamask. U can then buy the domain using crypto on epik. Thank you! I appreciate |

Career › Re: If You Are In Your Early 20's, You Need To READ This. by Babtunz: 9:16pm On Aug 07, 2022 |
pansophist: This is true, and there are lots of examples to support it. I'll list a few.
For example, the Nigerian communities in the west especially the US are known as the most educated and amongst the wealthiest groups, but this data glossed over one important part, and it is that the Nigerians in question are first generation immigrants.
Those ones that are called "fresh off the boat", or "booty scratchers" lol. These sets were hungry for success, calling up all the strength in them since they are faced with impending challenges such as permanent legal residency, finances, integration, establishment and so forth.
But after they've overcome these hurdles and started having kids who didn't face such challenges, their kids who are privileged just became regular Americans without the drive, hunger for success and ambitions their precedents had.
Furthermore, your point is supported by the widely recognised book that explains the states of most regions in the world titled "Gun, Germ and Steel" by Jared Diamond. The author posits that geographical realities are the basis for the evolution of human societies. The more deprived the societies are, the more likely they will be successful since they won't rely on nature, but on their ingenuity to thrive.
And if you observe our world today, this is self-evident. The global north is the most developed (Europe, North America aka the west), while the global south is not ( aka Africa, South America) . You can literally eat an orange and throw the seed on the floor, come back in a year and you have an orange tree in many places in the global south.
The warm weather, abundance of resources necessary to thrive, and relatively low population (pre 1900s) made it unnecessary for exploration in the global south, which made us content and coexist with nature. Also you'll observe that Europeans enslaved Africans in plantations such as Brazil, then ship all the produce to Europe. The South is naturally rich, simple.
This is not the same for Europe. In winter for example, the weather will kill you if you do not have shelter. Lots of homeless people are frozen to death during the peak of winter and it's not news. You may be broke in Europe for example, but you can hardly be homeless. Homeless shelter are everywhere for you to crash.
When I just arrived in Europe during my first semester, the warning our uni gave to international students back then was to not get too drunk and can't find our way back home after clubbing, because we can literally die, no capping. When you're drunk, it's like Anastasia, you don't feel the cold until you die.
In the dead of winter, nothing grows. Supermarkets in Europe are filled with foods from all parts of the global south. Bananas, pineapples, and coconuts are all imported. It's why the eu has almost no taxes on foods coming from Africa, and the few areas they invest heavily on, so we can export to them.
Another example would be the docility of a tiger in captivity to the one in the wild. The wild tiger usually is smarter, agile, cunning and brutal, just because his life is on the line. He has to be that way to survive, he has no choice. It also explains why nomadic groups are far more brutal (Eg the Fulanis) than others.
So yes, I actually agree with you. If Africa wants to get it right, we simply can not ignore the realities of geographical limitation, and build from there. Hmm, wisdom. I think your comment explains "The paradox of plenty" - where countries or geographics with abundant resources tend to have low level of development compared to places with fewer resources. |

I think it depends on your network strength but I assume it shouldn't take more than 4 - 7 mins. I remember one time "npm create-react-app" took nearly thirty minutes and still didn't install the packages. I searched online for solutions and I found Yarn. The same process took ~5mins and I haven't looked back since then. I heard npx is sometimes faster so you might want to try that. |

I don't get. The CSS you write for normal websites is almost practically the same you write in React although the syntax may be different in methods like CSS-in-JS or preprocessors like Sass. |

Business › Re: What To Do To Make Money Online? by Babtunz: 6:43pm On Aug 04, 2022 |
Rankett: Reasons: 1. Your card is not probably activated for international transactions, call the number at the back of your card to activate it for online transactions (Please note: I've not done this before) or go to your bank and tell them to activate it for you.
2. If you've been paying with it before, how much are you trying to pay? If it's more than $20, it won't go through(this is the monthly limit). I even tried using one GT card yesterday, I was only able to make $15 payment
3. If none of the above, make sure you have #492 × the amount of dollar you want to pay in your account. If you want to pay $10, make sure you have at least #4920 in your account. Turns out the issue is my account type. I was told I'd need to upgrade my acct and then be issued a new card but I don't have much time for that process. I have heard about virtual cards. Do you think I can register a domai/n with one? If yes which one do you suggest I use? I really appreciate your comments. |
Business › Re: What To Do To Make Money Online? by Babtunz: 6:35pm On Aug 04, 2022 |
Rankett: I'm not much experienced but I can contribute.
I haven't used them before (for domain investing) and I don't think I will ever use them.
Why?
1. Higher prices compared to reputable registrars
2. Low reputation when compared to other reputable registrars
3. Not really sure they offer privacy on their domains.
It's better to stick to registrars such as Name-(-)-Cheap, name silo, GoDaddy, Epik, Dynadot, Porkbun and so on. Thanks for the very good insights. I think these are enough to make a decision. |

Hello everybody,
Please has anyone been able to use GT/B Master/card to register a dom/ain on Go/ daddy or Name/ cheap? My card is being declined every time I try to register a domai/n name using one of theses registrars. Please kindly suggest a possible solution or alternative.
Thanks for your help. |

I think people have answered you already but to buttress their points I think the styling method to use in a react app boils down to personal preferences. I'd suggest you try each option and settle for the one that suits you best. Personally, I use styled-components because I enjoy writing plain css and other times I use TailwindCSS or Material UI.
Also every company usually have a style-guide they follow so you don't have to worry too much as long as you know your onions in writing plain CSS. |
