Already in lagos state we are seeing that People are owning The transport System. The remaining should be Roads, Security, Electricity and Education. The ancient idea that Government must do everything should be thrown in the dust bin of History. The government and the people must work. Government must set targets for the people.

If I were Fashola I would open an account for the money we get from oil and give it back to the ND.

The Lagos state is strong Enough to compete with any Country in Europe. We can do it. The problem can be solved.

We need to demand that the Local government begin to work they have been on Holiday for long. We have to provide the men from the 20 local government areas and train them. They may not handle weapon on patrol but you can train them because you will win the debate.

Let the lagos state government start by training them first and start a Lagos state voluntary police service There is no law against that.

The security outfits that are armed are complaining that their weapons are outdated compared to the armed robbers they are dealing with, so taking your advice will just be mere suicide. What they need is a well armed, trained, and payed security outfits and believe me results will be instant.

What he should do is to create a non armed security service.
When he has proved his point with this non armed security service he would be able to make case for them to carry arms.

I had always known that there were people behind the militants. There is a believe I have that there is a serious involvement of the Nigerian army and so many other people.

Nigeria has one of the best armies in the World. Nigeria fought 2 wars in the 90's and won them Nigeria has a tested army. The weapons Nigeria has is massive compared to that of the militants. What needs to be done is pull out the JTF. The Nigerian Armed forces was never neccessary in the Niger delta in the first place. You need to have intelligence gathering and then send in your joint force.

The fact is that OBJ is one man individually I respect not just as a president but as a true patriot.

The thing with most soldiers is that they are not good with public relation and this is where OBJ got his "stubbornness" from.

To my mind Obasanjo has done well in so many areas and if we look at the areas of power supply where all Nigerians sit on the Judgment seat to Judge him without any empirical evidence of theft of our money.

Now Obasanjo is a unionist and so he looks at Nigeria from a unitary point of view. He fought as a soldier to unite Nigeria and criticized babangida and Abacha in his days in ota before he went to prison. Abacha knew the strength of OBJ and decided to deal with OBJ.

OBJ was kept in solitary confinement for 4 years and given the beating of his life. I thought that OBJ would die soon  after he left but alas he came out and became the president. One thing that strikes me is that this man that was tortured and treated badly by the army he loved and country he fought for did not witch hunt the army.

I was surprised to see in the dailies that he OBJ was presenting a flag to Sanni Abacha's Son on behalf of his father.

I believe that the oil that belongs to the areas where they wre found should be used to take care of the state in which it is found. However I dont believe that anyone should kill for this.

The ND people have a way they can win this without firing a bullet. Their Elites like other Elites in other tribes want this to continue. Some people believe that without oil we cant survive. We should show the minorities that have the oil that we the Majority tribes can and will live without oil revenue.

They should have considered rather a Land use bill. Where all the land in the state becomes the state land because this is where the problem is coming from.

What you do is you make it illegal for any one to buy sell land to anyone rather you(LAGOS STATE) resell the land to cooperation that will build mini estates and mega cities.

This will mean that if i company A is buying ten plots before I am sold the land i must give out what i am going to build. The family and stool lands in the state will become the state land, there will be still federal lands though.

It is a delicate situation that if badly managed can result in a few individuals, who have acquired their wealth by corrupt means, further holding the populace to ransom.

The fact is that the money stolen would be used to build the roads and the right to bid for the roads can be taken if the roads are not OK. THIS IS LIKE PUT YOUR RICH TO WORK.

You just need to Set up a road authority in each state by the states themselves. The states will sell road blocks and then the bidders will get the road done and collect the tolls.
