LegendHero:I laugh in biafrannsss |
ArewaNightmare:Continue to deceive yourself. That is how you people were banking on Buhari's anointing for southeast aspirants in APC before reality dawn on you. Can you beat your chest that Obi will defeat Atiku or Tinubu in the presidential election? You're just wasting your time and resources, Obi winning the election is not feasible, that is the fact. |
Penguin2:So it is the deal you're praying for now. Are you saying if the deal fails, Obi cannot win the election? You can now see the Oba's aspiration is a tall order. I tell you, the hype on Obi is too much and I doubt if he will even come third among the candidates. |
pleasureosondu:Did Tinubu coerce or force you to vote for him? If you don't want him, go and join a political party and declare interest. Tinubu has the right to vote and be voted for. Did Fashola tell you he's interested in becoming president of Nigeria or why are you so concerned about Tinubu? Leave him to test his acceptability during election and if he's voted in, it means majority want him. |
Fahdiga:Dream that cannot come to reality in the next 4 years. Why do you people always deceive one another on the aspiration of Obi. Believe me, Obi will never come third in the presidential elections. His aspiration is a tall order. Mark today, your president is between Atiku and Tinubu except God performs miracle that can only give way for Obi. Where is the structure, alignments and foot soldiers to bring this to reality. Even in the Southeast, his people will still not vote for him just like what happened at APC primaries where none of the Southeast aspirants could step down for their fellow brothers. |
kponkedenge:Oga, religion has never helped this country. Stop inciting people. Even if a christian is made the VP, what power or influence does the deputy possess in the scheme of things. Even if muslim-muslim eventually fly, the worse is to ensure that the senate president or speaker is ceded to the Christians. The senate president is more powerful than a vice president. |
press9jatv:Upper hand ko, lower hand ni. |
StrongandMighty:Is it eloquence we want to eat or capacity to deliver, decisiveness, ability to stamp feet in the face of northern influence? See, out of all the aspirants, the only one the northern oligarchy are afraid is Tinubu. He has the mind of his own and cannot be cajoled. |
If APC eventually chose Lawan as the consensus candidate, then Buhari should be seen as the greatest traitor of all times. Imagine someone stood by you when all hopes was lost, ensured you won APC ticket in 2015 against heavyweight like Atiku and Kwankwaso and almost completing your second term, when it was time for you to reciprocate, you felt because you're the president, someone is no longer good for you. When you wanted this power by all means, this person was good for you that time. Anyway, it's a lesson for all to borrow not only in politics but in our daily interaction with people. Never put ur trust or rely totally on anyone, they can disappoint you to suit their selfish interest. |
Kyase:The support he's talking about is making buhari win APC presidential primaries held Lagos in 2015 against the likes of Atiku and Kwankwaso. Had Tinubu not backed Buhari, Atiku could have won that Primaries and Buhari could not have been president today, that's a fact. Even if you don't prefer him, allow for democratic primaries and if he looses, all well and good. |
Who is that candidate that can keep APC in power after Buhari leaves? . Who is that person that can put PDP or other opposition parties in check and ensure APC continue to spread its tentacles? One thing is certain, Buhari will no longer be relevant after his tenure and may not even show any concern to party affairs but Tinubu can still keep the party moving because he's the next most powerful individual in APC with robust political structure. He's a party man that politicians still look up to for political advise and strategies. |
If Tinubu eventually emerge as the flagbearer of APC, he should not think twice, a Muslim deputy from the north who is economically sound and with strong political structure should be considered to give him a fair edge since we know north plays religious card unapologetically. For the avoidance of doubt, southwest do not play religious card therefore indifferent to that choice. Tinubu's wife is a christian, Fasola's wife is a christian, Tinubu is not a religious fanatics as far as I kno. A lot of Muslims and Christians in southwest have married one another without rancour. What matters most is performance and ability to deliver dividends of democracy. A christian can be made SGF or senate president to douse any tension or suspicion. People may say that's selfishness on his part and therefore will be resisted by all means bit ask youself this fundamental questions. Has Nigeria fare better economically through religious expansion and aspirations. Has religion bring the needed peace in Nigeria? Why are we deceiving ourselves and allow these politicians to play us? What benefit has buhari-Osinbajo pairing afforded us? Why can't we think deep and allow competence rule over religion. |
Ever since Atiku Abubakar emerged as PDP flagbearer, opinions on social media suggest there's an uphill task before APC to determine the candidate that can square up with Atiku to make APC remain in power. Some are rooting for GEJ while others are tilting towards Ahmed Lawan. It was even unfortunate that Kalu that was not part of those that muted the formation of APC could be rooting for Lawan. The only candidate in APC currently that can unsettled PDP is Osinbajo. Aside being a loyal deputy, Osinbajo has national appeal, has no corruption tag, he's decisive, his leadership can generate robust foreign direct investment and he remain a digital leader. He may not have the political structure but with the support of Buhari, Tinubu and key stakeholders in the party, he may pull surprise and defeat Atiku. If APC can pair him with Zulum of Bornu state, Atiku will be defeated. |
With the recent event, rumour and body language of president buhari on the possibility of adopting Jonathan as the consensus candidate of APC, I consider it as an act of trackery and ungrateful situation. Only God destine a man for greatness but you will still need the support of people to attain specific position. Buhari had earlier contested presidential elections three times and lost. Some eminent personalities in opposition parties(ACN, ANPP, nPDP and APGA) came to your rescue, stood by you, drafted resources and ensure you became the president. Why will you forget how they helped you to defeat a sitting president? Can you just look back and think over it again. Why not extend the same support to these people instead of rubbing Jonathan on their faces? Are you trying to play smart by foisting Jonathan on Nigeria so that he can do a single term and return power to the north or you are looking for a weak candidate that Atiku can defeat easily so that power remains in the North. The treatment given to MKO still linger in the memory of the southwesterners and recent event suggest you want to also play Tinubu despite the effort he played in APC primaries against Atiku and your eventual emergence as president. People should note that Tinubu was an opposition leader then and bringing down Jonathan govt is without apology but for APC to be considering Jonathan as APC candidate is one of the wonders of the 21st century. Why allow aspirants to be touring various states canvassing for delegates when you already know they are going nowhere? Why not allow for primaries so that the best candidate will emerge? Why trying to foist an unpopular candidate on your party and expect unity in the party? Even if you have a preferred candidate, why not pick your deputy, or Amaechi or Umahi? These are tested politicians that can bring a rapid turnaround in Nigeria. These set of leaders are decisive, brave, sound, and good thinker who also have human feelings. People are watching what the north is working towards but if the north thinks they are smart by using divide and rule against the south, they should not forget that future alliance is been threatened and the south will never trust them again. . |
alsudan:And you think southwest will stand solidly behind Jonathan seeing the injustice, you're on your own. If they scheme Tinubu out, he will not contest under any party but will remain unpredictable for his next line of action. |
Ebubu3:Did he stop anyone from contesting against Sanwoolu in the primaries? |
Penguin2:See you talking about Nwajuiba or Onu as if they have electoral strength. Did you see any of them meet delegate for support. They just sit down and expect to win without putting in any effort. Can these two aspirants even face Atiku in a presidential elections. APC will not make the mistake of giving their ticket to a weak candidate. The consensus is among Tinubu, Amaechi and Osinbajo. |
All these are exercise in futility. Let Obi slug it out in the primaries first because the power resides in the delegates. To be honest, I dont see Obi winning PDP primaries. Even if he does, his chances of winning presidential election in Nigeria is very slim due to several factors. In a contest that involves Obi and Osinbajo, the latter will win, even if its against Tinubu, Tinubu will still win. Obi looks like a regional politician who has not been able to spread his tentacles and structures to the core north and this will definitely work against him. |
PrinceOfLagos:Stop talking with sentiments. Can any of the aspirants in APC swear they have never enriched themselves with public funds? Dont defend anyone cos they are all the same just that their level of corruption differs. Are you telling me Obi, Amaechi, Onu or Ngige are saints? |
Rastaramsey:Can Obi use his life to swear that he never embezzle govt fund(whether in millions or billions) during his term as governor of Anambra state. |
Puskas:You were talking with sense initially but when you got to the last paragraph, sense left you. |
Puskas:But miles worse than Osinbajo |
Buhari is not the type of leader we need in this 21st century. He is bereft of idea, lost, not sound, not decisive, lacks all leadership traits, and rules with impunity. His actions and inactions should have earned him multiple impeachment notices from the two chambers. It was a grave mistake to have returned him for second term. |
Gozac:Is that why he is building rail track to Niger Republic without Nigerien Govt contributing a dime? A project with no economic sense in the interim but will serve as a passage for the influx of terrorists. Imagine the kilometres of road that Money will construct in Nigeria instead of wasting it on that senseless project. He should resign and stop using govt resources to seek for delegate support. |
ajekpaks:You people just talk with sentiments. Best governor as how? Has he even spent 6 months in office to access his performance and compare it with expectations? |
ensamy:You people should cut the crap joor. Afonja this, afonja that. Someone was an opposition leader and decided to merge with few other parties to uproot a sitting govt, their plan worked and you're here crying. What is the job of an opposition party? If Jonathan is sure of himself, let him approach APGA and merge with other parties and face APC, let's see if he's that popular to uproot the current govt, Nonsense. |
PrinceOfLagos:Tinubu is your problem yesterday, today and forever. Be productive!!! |
YorubaMentality:Is Osinbajo the president that youre counting Osinbajo- 8yrs. Nonsense |
PrinceOfLagos:Tinubu is your problem yesterday, today and forever more, Amen. |
flemsy15:Bayern underrated villarreal at their own expense. If not for the goal scored by chikueze at the tail end of the second leg, Bayern ought to qualify |
lomprico:So is it not under his purview innocent souls were kidnapped? If not that he is shameless, is he supposed to be gallivanting up and down looking for delegates instead of working tirelessly to ensure those kidnapped are released. |
