There was a fierce gun battle between the police men and armed robbers who tried to rob a priest today at Hardel Junction,Orji,Owerri.

According to report, the robbers took their robbery to a junction which has a police station around and the uniform men could not take such assault.They engaged in a gun battle with the robbers and shot one of them dead.Others escaped.More photos below

Justice Sikiru Oyinloye of Kwara State High Court, Ilorin, on Thursday June 6, 2019, convicted two Internet fraudsters, Johnson Okuselu, 23 and Saheed Olanrewaju, 25, to one year imprisonment without an option of fine for alleged internet scam.

During the trial, an investigator of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Olamide Sadiq told the court that on April 28, based on reliable information concerning the suspicious activities of defendant about internet fraud, the operatives arrested the defendants at Ilorin International Airport.

The witness said that their phones were searched and it was revealed that the defendants created an email, using the name James kiak, with email address, captainjameskaik@gmail. Com; while “using the picture of a white man to deceive his unsuspecting victim. He said after analysing the e-mail and several other email correspondents between the defendants and their victims, one Brenda Hurling, it was revealed that it was scam mail.

The entire incriminating documents discovered from the defendants were admitted in court as evidence P1 and P2a. The IPhone was admitted as evidence P1, while the statement made by the defendant in April was admitted as P2a.

“The document was endorsed by the defendant, attached to the document is a certificate of identification,” Sadiq said. Also admitted as evidence is the printed out email transactions that transpired between the defendant and Brenda Hurling and the certificate of identification was admitted as evidence P2b.

The prosecution counsel, Mr. A. A. Adebayo, told the court that sometimes in April, Okuselu pretended to be an America woman, one Blessed Saviour, claiming to provide job to one Omni Guzman, in United States of America.

A 35-year-old man, Chris Azuoma, has been arrested for allegedly attempting to abort the pregnancy of a 15-year-old girl who he got pregnant.



Activist Harrison Emefiena Gwamnishu who shared the story online, said his team received a tipoff today that Chris brought an underaged girl to a hospital in Ogidi, Anambra state to get an abortion. Gwamnishu said his team hurried to the hospital where they arrested Chris.

Getting to the hospital, we met the management and identified ourselves as Human rights group and they granted us permission to interview the victim. She confirmed the story and the perpetrator confessed forcefully having unprotected sexual intercourse with the victim.

2015 Administration of Criminal Justice permit private persons to effect arrest and hand over to Security Agency. Perpetrator was arrested and handed over to 33 Divisional Police station Onitsha, Anambra State.

BAD NEWS: Since there are retained products of conception, there is tendency for the victim to bleed continuously which can lead to shock or death.

SOLUTION: There is urgent need for retained products to be removed. (Manual Vacuum Aspiration). Special thanks to the nurse (concerned citizen) who reached out to us and Nigeria Police Force for their continued collaboration

Former Arsenal forward Jose Antonio Reyes has died in a car crash at the age of 35.

The Spaniard, who won the Premier League and FA Cup during his time with Arsenal, died in a traffic collision.

The news was confirmed by his former club Sevilla.

Reyes joined Arsenal from Sevilla in January 2004 for a fee of £10.5m.
After making 110 appearances, scoring 23 goals, he had a loan spell with Real Madrid and then spent spells with Atletico Madrid, Benfica and Sevilla again.

He was most recently playing for Spanish club Extremadura having signed for the club in January
