The truth is that the senators are afraid and are being cautious on whom gets the Senate presidency and house of rep . They no tinubu is very likely not going to be president.

No matter how they plan, they have it at the back of their mind that constitutionally Nigeria has no president elect.

Will the CJN damn the consequences and swear in an unconstitutional president? I don't think so. I don't see that happening.

Let's keep our fingers crossed and keep watching. Events kicks off on monday.
But one certain sure fact I know is PODATTI is coming.
The new OBIDIENT Nigeria is at hand.
What you think at this stage no longer matter.

I just hope you have enough shock absorber to prevent severe pain and depression from 29th May 2023 till 3031

Depression kills faster than cancer. It is a silent killer. Bitter Obi is gradually getting the message and he will be fine las las, my worries are the Obidients with imaginary mandate.

Nothing from the southwest and yorubas did not cry blue murder or victimization. They put on their thinking caps, went into alliance with other northern parties and Punish Jonathan for his action by ensuring he lost the 2015 election, despite the fact that a yorubaman in the name of Obasanjo gave him the opportunity for vice president and same youruba people lead by Pastor Bakare, Falana etc lrd Save Nigeria Group to force the Senate to pass the doctrine of necessity law that paved way for Jonathan to assume presidency, He did not bothered that yoruba was not represented in his hierachy of govt.

If the Igbos realised the danger in putting their eggs in one basket, they will know it is unprofitable to do so.

You cannot invest in Labour alone 100% and expect returns in other party.

Yorubas are evenly spread across the 3 major parties.

Obasanjo, Doyin Okupe, Bode George, Osuntokun, Diran Onifade etc are in labour Party. And Labour won a state in the Southwest

Dele Momodu,National Secretary of PDP, Debo Ologunagba, legal Adviser - Kamal Ajibade etc and PDP won Osun State.

In APC, yorubas are there in sufficient numbers too.

If you risk all your entire savings in bet9ja, you have no right to demand money or assistance from others if you lose out.

It is their prerogative to help or not.
In the final analysis, Obi and Obidients indirectly helped Tinubu to power by dividing what could have been an easy win for Atiku.

So they deserve some recognition

There is a two bed room flat available for rent opposite presidential tribunal court. Any interested Obidients can approach the owner so they can monitor the court procedures for the next 8yrs up to the Supreme Court.

It is very affordable and it is the best way to stay close to Bitter Obi's imaginary mandate🤣🤣🤣

Tallesty1:
While it is indisputable that Tinubu would excel more than Buhari as a leader, due to buhari's planless, visionless and directionlessness, I am certain that he will get no where near Yarudua, considering all corruption allegations and other unfavorable circumstances associated with him.
You may be disappointed by your low expectation. In history, those who are known to be successful at destroying corruption or stealing are those with expertise in the se line.

If you have never picked pocket before, it is always like magic when those who know how to do it show you their loot.

Even Americans usually use retired criminals to get active ones.

Even with the so called noise of Buhari as Mr. Integrity, how has that translate into better results against corruption?

Yar'adua was loved by the masses. His short stay made him more adorable Just Like Gen. Muritala Muhammed in 1976, many here were young or unborn then.

If Yar'adua had stayed long for 8yrs, perhaps with benwfit of hindsight, he may have seen the foolishness in reversing the sale of our 4 moribund refineries to Dangote that was done by Obasanjo.

That decision is the reason we are still paying so much for fuel subsidy.

Running a govt is not a child's play, some decisions may look unpopular but may be the best for the country.

Just like in a family, not everything your kids want should be given else the kids will grow up with entitlement mentality.

That is wherr we are.

Many who should be doing meaningful businesses on their own are waiting for govt jobs and carrying certificates about. Is common sense not common again?

A serious change of mindset is very urgently needed in nigeria.

The best govt in the world cannot provide for everybody. Not likely.

United States of America was developed by the creativeness of individual Americans, All we need is enabling enviroment to succeed.

But guess what, everyday in both Lagos and Abuja international Airports. The indians. Lebanese, Chines, Syrians etc are entering nigeria and making it big.

Check majority of manufacturing companies in nigeria now, they are owned partly or wholly by these foreigners.

My encounter with some of them is that an average nigeria sees nigeria as the worst country, they prefer to complain about everything and everyone but themselves.

Rather than look inward and turn challenges to opportunities, they see doom and are therefore ready to do everything to Japa. They said many nigerians also believe in get rich quick syndrome, they do not want to sweat to grow but they still end up doing same abroad.

You even have time for them sef.
Hatred is in them.
Thanks for replying the kid anyways.

We have more for him below....

IPOB/BIAFRA VS TINUBU/YORUBA:
TOLERANCE BECOMING A CRIME.

1. Why do we hate Tinubu?
What for?

2. Tinubu never worked with federal or Eastern Nigeria let alone stealing money from Ndi Igbo.
He never worked as Minister or taken any Federal Appointment!

3. He never joined APGA let alone sabotaging our Party's interest?

4. Tinubu didn't meddle in Igbo internal affairs either!

5. Why do we call him thief?
What did he steal?

6. We call Yoruba "slaves".
We never reflect on what it means to be slaves in the true sense of the word.

7. We are putting mouth in Lagos politics without caution, yet we have a proverb that says it is the foolish housefly that follows the corpse into the grave.

8. Can Yoruba man become an Association or Local Government Chairman in the East? Let us be sincere with ourselves.
Yet, we enjoy all these privileges here including Assembly Membership!

9. Why asking for what we can't give?

10. We are here helping the "slaves" to develop their land. Who then is a slave?
10b. You call their city a no man's land so that we can further be enslaved slaving to develop it, and our generations are wasted gloating over mere privileges.
Who is a slave?
Do we actually think?

11. Can Yoruba tell Okorocha "o to gee" in Owerri?
He doesn't even need it.
He is too intelligent to die for a pot of ofe manu or nothing.

12. After the civil war, for many of us who were old enough to have witnessed it, the Yoruba were the first to open their arms to receive and accept us as we were, crude savages in search for means of survival.
It was regardless of what we equally did to them before and during the civil war. No party to the civil war was innocent!
I also remember not paying any rent among Yoruba guys without a penny for my first 3years in Lagos and another 2 years in Ibadan.

13. Can we survive Yoruba attack in Yoruba land if they actually mean to?
Will an Mbaise man cooperate with the Nsukka or Afikpo, or the Imo with Anambara?

14. If we all decide to relocate at once, Babangida send me home phenomena is still in the memory of some of us who survived the incessant and uncontrollable spate of robbery across the Onitsha bridge.
How many people will want to go in spite of our empty pride?

15. If Yoruba people are as foolish as we foolishly think, why agitating?
How will agitating be to our benefit?

16. Why not "O to gee" in Abia, Enugu or Owerri?

17. Can a man from Aba become a Commissioner or Perm.Sec. in Enugu State Civil Service?
Yet it happened here!
Why not be careful.

18. We adopted APGA and but "wisely" voted PDP.
How was Tinubu our headache.
Was he the cause of our downfall?
Why always blame others for our inabilities and want to take glory for any small thing we think we have done well and even overblow it?

19. We claim we were so creative during the civil war.
Now history.
We also claim every made in Nigeria is from Aba.
But go to Oyo and Osogbo to see what "lazy" mechanics are doing quietly in the automobile industry, yet we make noise that other ethnics are either mumu or lazy except we (alagbara ma mero baba ole; the most hardworking humans who cannot develop their own land unfortunately).

20. Why looking for avoidable problem? Why?

21. It was you in the North being attacked, in Malaysia being killed, in Gabon and Ghana being molested. 99.9% of Nigerians killed in South Africa are of Igbo extraction, and sometimes by fellow 'hardworking' Igbo. Why?

22. We choose Kanu and he dictates to us without consultation with any one of us. They choose Tinubu who becomes a hero among them by bowing to or adopting the choice of their majority.

Why are we angry?
We chose Azikwe and they chose Awolowo.
How are they more mumuish followers than ourselves?
Zik became a President and we gained from it, Awo was only a Premier, but we are only struggling to beat their records in all ramifications including education till today.
How are they mumus?
We chose APGA and they chose APC, why agitating?

Yoruba are yet to say Tinubu is their problem why do we want to die for nothing?
Why working in APGA but planning to collect salaries in APC?

If your Biafra comes, but do we still remember that as Igbo we will automatically become foreigners on the streets of the Lagos we call a no Man's land?

How many of us will actually want to relocate home, should Biafra actualises or if citizenship is on the condition that you relinquish all other citizenship in Africa?

We leave that answer to the individual.
Nwayo nwayo biko unu.

“A large number of teachers in private schools in Nigeria today are not qualified.

Why? Because

We wanted to use a consultant to get revenue from teachers in private schools.
When we carried out a survey, we observed that a reasonable amount of 70% of teachers in the South-West are not qualified as well.

Because they refused to be members of Teachers Registraction Council of Nigeria(TRCN) grin

“They are not registrable with the TRCN. So that is to tell you that there is a big gap.

In his mind, because they refused to be member, therefore So we cannot call them teachers but cheaters. You know that there’s a difference between teachers and cheaters. If you are not a teacher, you must be a cheater.

The above explains his use of derogatory words for all teachers who are not register with them for the sake of revenue generation

Even if they have best performance in their schools and the results of the students is outstandinh, as long as they are not registered member of his useless organisation, they are unqualified in his mind

“So, these people are not registerable with TRCN because they don’t possess the requisite qualification that will allow us to register them

There's a possibility that if Atiku and Obi worked together in PDP, Atiku could have won because the northerners' vote combined with the SE and SS vote for PDP would have given Atiku an edge. However, an Obi with a Northern vice presidential candidate, even in PDP, can't defeat Tinubu!
Bitter truth that refused to sink into d Obidients with poor understanding of the geo-political landscape, interest and reality of nigeria.

Imagne if Obi, Kwakwanso and Atiku could agree to work together as one.

Tinubu will lose with a very wide margin!
But the real elephant in the room is the greed within the opposition splitting their block votes into 4, Kwankwaso, Atiku,Obi and G5.

We all know how APC defeated Jonathan, Only Buhari contested.

Imagine if APC splitted in 2015, with Tinubu contesting as president, Buhari contesting as president. Could they have unseated Jonathan with that approach?

I am sure these greedy leaders Atiku in particular knows why they lost. That is why PDP and Atiku are not as vocal as Eluup

A house divided against itself can never stand.

They lost a golden opportunity to unite and get rid of D useless APC.

I hope they do a better Job in 2027! grin grin

As for the professor Onigbinde. He is from Yewa and he is bitter about Tinubu's influence denying people of Yewa to win the APC primary. However, he refuse to blame his people who chose to vote for outsider instead of one of their own.

Nigerians in Sudan are mostly Northerners studying Islamic courses

There are many airlines owned by Northerners

The president is a Northerner.

The African richest man is a Northern.

But,

It is the chairman of Airpeace, Allen Onyema, AN IGBO MAN, who has AGAIN, in his characteristic manner, volunteered to use his planes to bring back Nigerians trapped in war-torn Sudan.

Nigerians from North and South are praising him to high havens, calling him a patriot.

Ironically, IF the same Allen Onyema decides to run for president of Nigeria tomorrow, these same Nigerians praising him today will tell him that he is IPOB and cannot rule Nigeria. Even the people he brought back will tell him that they rather vote one of their own even if he's on wheelchair.

Whatever you do as an Igbo man in today's Nigeria, always remember that IGBOPHOBIA is alive and well. In fact, there is a sense in which it can be argued that that is the major oxygen sustaining the Nigerian state.

The late literary god Chinualumogu Albert Achebe was right;

"Nigerians will probably achieve consensus on no other matter than their common resentment of the Igbo."
You are damn wrong. Ask Allen Onyema if he has achieved all he has done alone without the help of people from other regions. Airpeace is largely patronised by people from other regions. D airline fly more to other regions than the southeastern states. Many northerners prefer to fly Airpeace than airlines owned by fellow northerners.

Finally, airpeace may be owned by Allen Onyema who is xonsidered as Delta igbo, but without the patronage of all nigerians, he would have been out of business long time ago, that he chose to give back to d society that he makes his money is a business strategy and social investment, he is not stupid.

D same argument i hear many igbos in lagos make, we need each other, Check majority of who patronise the igbo businesses in Lagos and Abuja, they are yoruba and Hausas.

For example, Igbos dominated auto spare parts, but majority of the mechanics who decides to buy are yorubas. Same in other industries. Can d sellers survive for long if there are no buyers?

No one individual or group can do it all alone. You may not appreciate d value of ur neighbour until you are lonely.

As an employer, i have employed sizable igbos, in my business without any worry but d last presidential election and d many comments of igbos also known as obidients about d yorubas as if we all sat somewhere to deny them d presidency.

In 4years, another presidential election will be conducted and another opportunity will be opened. But many obidients are prepared to destroy their century old relationships with yorubas

Arthur Nzeribe (An igbo man) of the infamous ABN, was used to scuttle June 12 Election but Yorubas did not castigate d entire igbo race as responsible for their woes.

Many do not know d implications and consequences of all these anormalies.

If Igbos do not trust yorubas again, how can yorubas trust igbo too? Go to any market in lagos, both tribes dominate businesses. These dangerous narratives may do more damages to individual relationships than we think. We should allow d courts to decide and stop castigating each other's tribe

I come in peace. 🕊🕊🕊

2. Sponsored Obi to run against him, under the table without even Obi knowing. Started Obidient movement to insult him while putting him in Aso Rock.

3. Released Yes Daddy audio and Guinea dual citizenship to cause distraction.

4. It is so amusing when I see Obi supporters still on his case here not knowing their 5 States were his puppets.

Obi actually worked for Tinubu.

He did a yo man's job to destroy any hope of Atiku by taking away all hitherto PDP votes in the SouthEast, SouthSouth and Part of Middlebelt. He nonetheless gqve Tinubu some bruises in lagos. But All in All, To God Be The Glory.

I am therefore hoping that the Nairaland moderators would be magnanimous enough to push this rejoinder or correction to the front page as well.

Firstly, let me make this clear When a lie is repeated so many times, people tend to believe it as the truth. This we have seen in APC in the past and they have not changed.

The constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (section 134 subsections 1 & 2) states as follows:

2. A candidate for an election to the office of President shall be deemed to have been duly elected where, there being more than two candidates for the election a. he has the highest number of votes cast at the election; and b. he has not less than one-quarter of the votes cast at the election each of at least two-thirds of all the States in the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja”

Now, let me educate the professor and some of his few fans that FCT is conferred a special status by the Nigeria constitution.
I will treat this topic with the following subheads. I could merge some of these into one subhead to reduce the length of the discourse

i. The President is the Governor of FCT while the National Assembly is the legislative assembly (Section 301) and the president governs the t by proxy (Section 302) and appoints the Chief Judge of the FCT (Section 256:1 &2)

ii. The FCT is deemed a mini or little Nigeria (Section 2: 2)

iii. The FCT is NOT a federating state (Section 3:1)

iv. FCT has one Senator, other federating states have three senators each (Section 48)

v. All Federating states have a Governor, a legislative assembly, and a judiciary, with the Chief Judge appointed by the governor

1. The President is the "Governor of FCT" while the National Assembly is the legislative assembly (Section 301) and he governs the FCT by proxy (Section 302) and appoints the Chief Judge of the FCT (Section 256:1 &2)

For anyone to be governor of a state, you MUST be elected by a majority of votes cast and score ¼ of at least 2/3 of the LGAs in the state. This is the provision of Section 179 of the Nigerian Constitution. Taken in the same context, the president CANNOT be elected without having 1/4 of FCT votes, Take note that by the provisions of Sections 256 (1&2), 301 and 302, state that the President is deemed to be governor of the FCT. He appoints a minister to govern on his behalf. So, just like a governor cannot be elected unless he fulfills the requirements of sections 178 and 179, the president MUST fulfill the requirement of ¼ of the votes in the FCT to be elected as its governor. This is the context with which Section 134 (2) was written and it is not ambiguous and does not need a professor to teach us what the constitution means by adding a conjunction AND

The FCT as a mini-Nigeria and Not a Federating state (Sections2 &3). The Constitution states "Nigeria shall be a Federation consisting of States and a Federal Capital Territory".

The constitution envisaged a situation where a presidential candidate may win in his region tribe or zone but only pick some votes in other regions due to tribal and religious inclination, hence to be a president of Nigeria, you MUST have been voted for by ¼ of miniature Nigeria, the FCT. The fact here is that whereas some states are ethnically dominated, the FCT is assumed to provide equal representations of each of the Federating States of Nigeria, This confers to the voters of FCT a SPECIAL STATUS. Quite unlike the professor tried to "teach" us.

The FCT is NOT a federating state but rather deemed a State ONLY for the purposes of GOVERNANCE.
Hence Nigeria DOES NOT have 37 states as being wrongfully portrayed for selfish reasons

All the federating states are listed in Section 3:1, but the FCT is not listed there. So, to understand the provisions of Section 299, you need to read in context the section and the subsequent subsections. You cannot just pick and chose, but read to understand the intent of the section.
Unlike the FCT, which is the capital of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, each state has a capital. Section 3:3 states “The headquarters of the Governor of each State shall be known as the Capital City of that State as shown in the third column of the said Part I of the First Schedule opposite the State named in the first column thereof”. Here is the catch, to be elected as governor, you need to score 25% in 2/3 of the LGAs of the state. The constitution does not recognize the State Capital as it recognized the FCT for the Federal Republic of Nigeria. This clearly confers on the FCT voter a SPECIAL STATUS

The misconception of Section 299 shows that some of our lawyers need to be re-educated. With all due respect, let us examine Section 299. It states as follows:
299. The provisions of this Constitution shall apply to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja as if it were one of the States of the Federation; and accordingly –
a. all the legislative powers, the executive powers and the judicial powers vested in the House of Assembly, the Governor of a State and in the courts of a State shall, respectively, vest in the National Assembly, the President of the Federation and in the courts which by virtue of the foregoing provisions are courts established for the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja;
b. all the powers referred to in paragraph (a) of this section shall be exercised in accordance with the provisions of this Constitution; and
c. the provisions of this Constitution pertaining to the matters aforesaid shall be read with such modifications and adaptations as may be reasonably necessary to bring them into conformity with the provisions of this section.

Even a not too educated person would know that the above provision DOES NOT confer on FCT the status of a federating state. Hence the argument that Nigeria has 37 states is clearly FALSE.

FCT has one Senator, other federating states have three senators each (Section 48) and 2HOR members.
No need to belabor this topic, it simply shows that FCT has a SPECIAL STATUS because all other states have 3 senators.

So, with all due respect, someone needs to tell Professor Osunbor that he was wrong, because, if his student had put up this argument in an exam, he would probably have failed him/her.
You have obviously turned reasoning on its head.

If you feel you know too much, i will suggest you join the Legal team of PitObi and go argue your point at the tribunal. You are d one repeating lies not the other way round.

Why dont we allow d judiciary to do their work?
