It is in ASUU's DNA to go on impactless strike for the flimsiest of reasons.

Nigeria needs to adopt global best practices on public university education
In Nigeria.

ASUU is populated by arrogant lecturers who are largely archaic and do not want to improve.

The public universities need serious reform to compete in the market.

The more they strike, the more unattractive they become.

As egg heads as they claim they are, they should by now know that going on strikes appears to be leading them to self-destruct.

They really need to sit down and fashion out a better and more effective ways to achieve whatever they want to do.

They probably will get back their payments for all the days on strike.

What about the students? Can you recover the years wasted while the strikes were on?

Can you force your age when your employers insist they do not want applicants above certain age. Your dreams and careers are kept on hold because of largely selfish interest of the lecturers.

Which section of the country is actually well paid in Nigeria?

I do not hold forth for the useless government, In fact, I wish Buhari could be impeached so we don't have to waste another 9months to get rid.of him and his directionless govt, but ASUU is a problem since 1980's and they are not about to change their way.

Finally. With the influx of Africans, nigerians in particular, going to UK to study and stay put, the UK government may review the policy again that you must go back to your country or elsewhere when you are done schooling.

The truth is, the western world's population is dropping so fast that there are no enough students to fill the available educational facilities and foreign students accounts for large components of inflow to UK.

So, their decision to offer tertiary and post graduate education is borne out of their need for survival.

In conclusion, weigh your options.

We do not have enough information about your background, current state of residence, course you study, how much do you think the house can truly fetch and how much in totality will be required to complete your education in the UK, your current income, how to earn more income to meet your goals,

If you sell the house, it will only be a temporary relief, if you do not develop your capacity to earn money, you will always look for easy way out.

Don't put all your hope on traveling abroad at all costs.

The grass is always greener at the other side from a distance. Until you get there, then the reality hits you.
