Connection can just come now you find yourself in one of those vsl as supervisor or discharger... My brother you go carry your tokunbo corolla dash give BAZ001 without a 2nd thought.

Lets keep giving tips on how to improve earnings by spending less hrs online rather than advising someone who earns 100k to resign and come drive uber, better still advise the person to collect a car loan from his company then drive weekends and public holidays to offset the loan. because having a paid job gives you opportunities to loan draft, travels, mortgage, among other benefits but driving uber alone hmm... My brother no level ooh.

Maybe I have to go a little personal to drive home my point.

My wife's salary is over 300k. By the time you add those bonuses and allowances over the course of the year, she easily takes in 400k every month. You still think that's vibes and insha Allah for someone who only just started working in 2017?

how many people do these things??
Nice write up and I agree with everything you put up there 100%.
I feel there is a mix up or little misunderstanding. Nobody is trying to discourage people from joining the hustle or say there is no money in driving compared to paid employment.
We only talk about the reality of the job compared to paid employment and dashboards. (E.g you can net 100k easily every week ) Haba how easy ?
And this is my stand any day anytime comparing ehailing to employment in Nigeria
1. Did you go to school university or masters to graduate and start driving Uber ?
2. In career projection job, you can keep developing yourself and years of experience counts to move to another job or level or relocate outside Nigeria where you will be appreciated.
Pls what CV & experience will an Uber driver drop ?
3. How long can you drive as a career ? Let’s assume you drive for 5yrs and buy 1 car every year. After 5yrs you hang boot and seat at home ? Same way Abefeabebi just told us he worked in government school and was able to pay 500k upfront and own a car in 11 months. He still have his job and a car and can repeat that every year

I agree that it’s easier to make more money driving in less hours than previous years due to surge and increase in fare. But at the same time
Dollars has increased to N500
Parts increased
Corolla of 1.5m is now 2.5 m
Fuel too increased from N87 to N165.
Ordinary Mobil 1 oyel price changed someone to super tech ambassador

Las las time will tell
Ehailing is survival of the fittest. The weak will drop out the strong will continue.
May God continue to bless and protect us

People do not understand what is meant by "this life na per head". What works for Me A may not necessarily work for Mr B. The other day someone posted a question that made FP — how much is okay for a Nigerian graduate to earn as a minimum wage. Some people said 50k, some said 100k, some 150k, some 250k etc. Each answer valid because people will only comment based on their perspective.

Yes I understand, the economy has gone so bad that salaried employment doesn't currently seem ideal. Cheerfulgiver once mentioned that people earning 100k can barely afford to buy good work clothes which is very true! One piece of quality long sleeve shirt is around 7k now. Not to mention prices of shoes, ties, trousers, transport etc.

But I won't still advise anybody to quit a job of 150k and above (with good career prospects) to drive Uber. This hustle can be sweet especially when there's surge but it's not worth abandoning a promising career for.
God bless you sir, I hope people read inbtw d lines. No one is asking anybody not to come and drive we just mentioning the reality of the job with the dashboard being displayed.
There are good days in the hustle sweet surge , sweet riders going to sweet destination and with less stress 45 k on your dashboard.
There are bad days you will drop one rude rider inside hot sun, fake alert, with body pains and your dashboard still red, you will begin to fear the next trip and look for motivation to continue driving.

My thoughts and question “how many years can you drive in this Lagos to raise family and have a comfortable life” ?

No mind them, most of them have cars on the platform or are fleet managers so it's expected of them.
Abi if na u, you no go protect your investment?
The way they make this job so easy is that they are now inviting even bank managers to resign and come and join us and be driving up and down the whole of this rough and busy Lagos ( in uche's voice moving traffic sorry Lagos).
But the people they are mocking live in porch estates and even afford cars of their own, now how many Uber drivers can afford to use Uber when going out or live around Chevron and lekki areas?
Only few, If there life is that fine it should reflect on them, really.
You’ ve nailed it Baba
It should reflect oohhhh.
We should start hearing Uber drivers going on vacation in Bahamas with family.
Uber drivers children attending Ivy League schools.
Lekki Land lords advising their children to come and start driving Uber once they graduate instead of waiting for govt jobs.

Bros no need for long talk, if you are sure Uber is that good why not show them dashboard?
And encourage them to resign sharp sharp. After all you want their best, shebi all of us dey here.
Again one might reject 100k job not necessarily because he makes more than that on Uber but like you rightly pointed out nothing like being your own boss.
This man shocked
You strong like this.
For this matter, with all the gun shots flying upandan? I fear you.
I go just dey pity people that will resign their jobs cos of this hustle and dashboards flying up and down. By the time they drive up and down Lagos for 1 year we will start hearing stories like (bricklayer,Uber driver to Keke napep driver)
They say I’m being pessimistic or don’t want people to come make money, yet some of them said they will hang boot in December.
If the hustle was so easy why hang boot biko ?

Hey d hustle is very sweet you can earn more than bank managers in one month and have your time and weekends to yourself and family

Una see the video vixen video wey dey trend for Twitter? If you were in the driver's shoe, what would you have done?
I feel bolt will feel bad or ashamed of the video, cos they are in competition with Uber and you will never see such video on Uber trip.

Cos I’m a lazy driver, I will be to lazy to bring out phone and start recording or calling passer by, I would collect the boyfriend number and her number and block the account, simple and move on to pursue 250k weekly.

But the video will reset most ladies brain, they won’t go on a bolt ride without money to pay or expecting boyfriend to come and pay.

I had experience it before took a lady from ipaja to lekki phase 2. Trip ended 7k, lady told boyfriend 9k and told me I will give her 2k cash.
Bobo transfer from inside hotel and I didn’t get alert. Request to my hood came I had to leave cos I was exhausted and needed to go home (10pm) she promised to send it if d Bobo doesn’t send.
Got home no alert yet, began to call and chat her on whatsapp, she claimed d guy already send it but if I get it twice should let her know.
I got alert after 5mins.

I don’t have OT nothing nothing but I just believe in myself.

What’s my strategies?

Monday:- I don’t joke or play with mondays anywhere you are, you’ll make your money.
Tuesday: early in the morning stay within Yaba, Surulere, Sangotedo, Ajah and Lekki….. Afternoon I make sure I work within mainland and I always target long trips.
Wednesday to Thursday: I work anyhow but I usually avoid Ikeja, All Alimosho Local govt., Ikorodu etc…
Friday: I work within the targets
Saturday: Mainland
Sunday: Mainland even if I get island, I’ll use Uber as destination trip back to mainland.

Tips: don’t stay for too long if you’re expecting request move around where surge Dey you can’t spend 400naira fuel to reposition. Imagine today Sunday I see drivers relaxing around Victoria Island in the afternoon there’s mad surge around Yaba, ebutte meta, Surulere etc. with fuel of 300naira you don reposition to this areas.

Contact cheerfulgiver for more tips because me just work on my own oh…

Below is July savings minus cash can’t snap that tonight. Please this is just for motivating someone
You are too much.
Nice one Baba...
