Happy new year to all. I specifically signed up today to say hello to every Nigerian on this site irrespective of where he or she comes from. However, I have reserved a big Hello to Onlytruth and Beaf and to make it a little interesting I have decided to call Beaf "Nwanne di na mba." Beaf you are one tough guy, Even though you have have flaws just like every other person you have shown to be firm and I respect that. I know it hurts to see our "near-omipotent subsidy" go but the truth is - it's time has come and its got to go. May I add here that if I were to be in a battle of life and death, I would choose Beaf, Onlytruth, ShongorThor, (including others I cant remember now) to join me, these guys are real men.
Lol! Thanks dude! I'm not too good with Igbo, does "Nwanne di na mba" mean, "my stubborn brother?" Welcome to NL and hope to see you around. You do have good choices in Onlytruth and ShongorThor. Those guys are strong men indeed, intelligent, totally principled and undeviating from their ideals and the best for us all. I respect both guys. As you have stated, there are many others too, but it would be wise not to list names, lest any are left out. |
koruji:You are satisfied to be found lying and defined as stup!d or mad? Choi!!!! Wonders! ![]() Unu go tek laf kill antelope o! https://i.imgur.com/UPBvj.gif |
Maybe thats why pregnant women in rural areas from Ekiti to Potiskum are now going to be paid on giving birth. That might just make them poorer or to lose their shoes! ![]() There is a whole raft of radical new policies to reach Nigerias poorest and lift them out of poverty, from education to transportation to energy supply etc. Haters gon' hate. ![]() https://www.blogcdn.com/www.urlesque.com/media/2010/05/haterafrican.jpg |
koruji:Are you too impaired to comment on the topic? LOLZZZ! |
Obiagu1:No, but they can be persuaded to remain as part of ways to assuage the situation. Especially as no one has threatened them. It doesn't speak well of the state of security. koruji:You are so stup!d, I wonder why you have to bring GEJ into everything? Are you possessed or mad? In times of crisis such as we have, you do not allow people mass migrate. It is commonsense, but I have concluded that you are either stup!d or mad. |
I get really shocked whenever I hear that there are lawyers or doctors who do not support the removal of the subsidy. These are meant to be people with quite high IQ's. |
They must not be allowed to leave for numerous reasons. |
Now, I am beginning to gain more respect for Fashola. We've had it neck deep with the rank hypocrisy from his colleagues. I have always said it that Fashola is the only senior oficial with some degree of integrity that ACN can boast of. |
jason123:You should be ashamed to be counting people on the fingers of one hand. ACN is an abberation in the SS and it is obvious even to the blind. Please keep to the argument of how Edo is percieved and why that is so, instead of cracking jokes that ain't funny. PDP has a much bigger presence in just Ogun state alone than ACN can dream in the entire SS, but it would take a clown to term Ogun a PDP state. |
See story! ![]() Desperation na bad tin, na so e de make pipo lie! ![]() |
MORPHEUS24 is the one. We do not need any conspiracy theory addled types or those that might inhale psychedelic stuff before logging on. |
There was a meeting of all the South-South states to take far reaching political directions during the Yar Adua saga. Edo state was very bitter not to have been invited and gate-crashed the meeting to sign their allegiance to GEJ, even though they are ACN. There is some difficulty with not seeing Edo state as a bit of an island that desperately wants to be called South-South (which it definitely is, culturally), but whose political umbilical cord is attached to the ACN, something totally alien and basically unthinkable in the rest of the SS. |
The same NBA called for the reinstatement of Salami. They lost, but keep dabbling into politics instead strategigising to clear the bar off corruption. |
I have never heard of a more daft donation. It is hard to comprehend how a Nigerian church could have left all the suffering and sorrow around them to donate money for suffering in America! It is mind boggling. Without doubt, if the surface is scrapped away from the charity farcade, a nest of criminal activities will be revealed. That church is either into money laundering or they are drug smugglers. |
iiiyyyk:Preach, bro! ![]() |
^ @Nnenna1 True and well spoken my sister. Every word you uttered is wise. We would not be in defensive mode of our regions if many had not made it expressly clear that their participation in the demos's is for political, religious and ethnic reasons. Many have expressed extremely ugly sentiments that we must be on guard against; it is that fear and the need to robustly tackle its proponents that has driven the creation of this thread. Let us do the things you suggested with all vigour, but we must not be used as unwitting tools in a hidden enemies ugly political, religious and ethnic designs. emmatok:Are you real, or is this a silly joke on yourself? Some NL pipul and critical levels of ignorance sha! |
@ahj haram When you have removed the lies from your questions, I will respond to you. Until then, keep lying. |
The truth is, GEJ and his 'thieving' cabinet have been confronted with these and several other valid questions and they have failed completely to provide any response. Rather like biblical 'pigs' they are hell bent on driving Nigerians into the sea of despair, poverty and untimely death!
What Nigerians, hypocrite? Stinking rich people like you who very willingly pay a massive fuel tax amounting to 60% of the pump price in the UK where you live, only to sponsor poor peoples kids to go out and face death rioting? Why aren't you in Nigeria, physically leading the protests? Surely, you can easily afford the ticket back? No? Is all you have to offer a forked tongue and sponsorship money from the luxury of your home in far away UK? Coward. |
debosky:Your reasoning is stup!d, but it is to be expected that fuel smugglers and importers would angry as phuck at this time! ![]() My broda, go and find a decent way to make a buck than by stealing our collective wealth and emptying it into your putrid pockets. Una time don pass. Bye. |
“I think what the NLC and others should now watch is to ensure that both the state and the federal government put whatever is coming from subsidy into good use for the benefit of the people of Nigeria not just allowing this money to just circulate within a small cabal. These people imported fuel and collected money from Nigeria and they go across the border and sell in foreign exchange and the money is not even brought back to banks in Nigeria, it is taken to overseas banks. Is that for the benefit of Nigerians? This is what we have been hollering even through now sore throats. “So, I want to plead with the press honestly speaking, this President was popularly elected and why do you think he will want to take decision that will make him unpopular? But if being unpopular will be for the best interest of Nigeria, he has decided to take it and honestly we back him up. Honestly, the NLC has no interest of this nation at heart,” he said.Word. ![]() Nigeria WILL NOT remain the same old chaotic place. We MUST develop, regardless of what the dark forces within plan or do. Pregnant women in rural areas from Zuru to Gbangan are now going to be paid on giving birth. Whoever heard of such before now in our country, Nigeria? GEJ, go on soun, jare! Sa lo si 2015 straight! Haters gon' hate. ![]() |
Each and every one of us knows that what Jang has said is 100% correct. Nuff said. |
Becomerich! My guy! Where is the satellite map of the subsidy? |
EPOMA:Maybe if you were president, Nigeria would have posted state trained and recognised smugglers to our border areas to ease the arduous smuggling tasks of our poor lil neighbours. Maybe the NNPC headquarters would even have been in Cotonou or Yaounde. Now, I think you are tickling me. |
Beaf, I am not here to speak either for nor against you. But really, you have become so popular in nairaland that everybody wants to get quick fame by insulting you or calling you names. I guess a lot of people see it as a honour when you reply their comments. Beaf, enjoy your moment in nairaland, I envy you
Lol! Thanks for your observations many people have a rather strange way of responding to logical cut and thrust. I am flattered that you think it has to do with popularity, but I think it is the manifestion of more of a serious Nigerian problem; the type that see's grown men slapping poor people in the streets and bellowing at others, "do you no who I am? I will jail you, your wife and your children, your entire family!"It is the unfortunate Nigerian disease of over aggression to animal degrees. It is born from the chaotic nature of our country, where the FG is almighty and there is no representation of the common man. In the jungle, the biggest animal thrives; but to be an animal is the opposite of what it is to be human and we can see the resulting shambles around us. It is mainly those with psychotic traits that have been able to thrive on the chaos that sane people abhor, rise to the top and make life into a chaotic soup. Up till recently, Nigeria has seen thieves and murderers rise to the highest echelons of society. NO MORE! They see their empires sinking, so let them fight for all they are worth, their time is past. Phew! ![]() |
Haters parade. ![]() |
Sad. May his soul rest in peace. |
Oshiomole and Fashola are the only ACN governors who aren't playing the game of hypocrisy. Fashola actually chaired the committee that demanded that the subsidy be removed. As for Oshiomole, his antecedents as a labour are clear. All the other ACN governors are lying hypocrites, pretending to hate the very thing they demanded before the FG even voiced the idea. |
They are selling fuel: COZA, The Wealthy Place!!!http://www.facebook.com/cozaonline/posts/10150464168897058 Go and buy and stop thinking negatively. |
^ Regardless of what our positions are, the issue will be resolved by juggling of ideas and angles, except one side has ulterior motives. Even if govt were to conclude that its opponents are irresponsible and extremist, and it opts to ram the policy through; there would still be some juggling of ideas and angles (even if one-sided). It is a chessboard, you gonna keep making losing moves? |
^ Do you think the states and LG's in those countries do fuckall, but receive beggars money? Go and check those economies, the governors actually work and their LG's actually deliver. They are not a set of lazy runts addicted to freebies. You cannot manufacture absolute zero and expect a high minimum wage (except as an armed robber, thief or parasite). Get your state and LG working (not begging), so that we can have a higher minimum wage. Get out there and demonstrate for the right things, not to further personal greed, corruption, waste and commonsense defying policies of the past. |
pro01:Throwing insults as a first line of response does not tell well of you. Many Nigerians think that being overly aggressive is a sign of intelligence or grasp of issues, but it is the direct opposite; it is also cowardly. A reasonable response to sniperWolf, would have been, "why do you believe in it, sir? Lets juggle ideas and angles." |
I have always argued that any movement that is backed by sentiment rather than solid philosophy is bound to fail. The removal of the subsidy is painful no doubt, but every man and his dog is convinced that it is of immense benefit to the country. A cursory look at any crowd of pro-subsidy demonstrators immediately throws up the fact that almost every one of the footmen is either middle class or lower middle class and the leaders are all members of the top echelon of the elite. The working classes are almost totally absent; no rewires, carpenters, labourers; its just richly dressed folk. Hmmm! It is easy to conclude that, for obvious reasons of the abject lack of any backing philosophy to the protests, there is no spontaneous outburst of red rage from the working classes, the very people the "revolution" organisers claim to be fighting for. There is no philosophy that keys the working classes into the "revolution," sentiment can only go so far. From observation, it is either the poor are willing to test the promises from Jonathan's govt and are refusing to be used, the we are observing solid proof that the subsidies benefit only the rich. It is a rich mans "revolution." Rich men tend to be more exposed to corruption, therefore it is no surprise that the organisers have shied away from rallying against theft in govt, the astronomic wages of the NASS, the uselessness and frightful corruption of state governors and LG chairmen, the PIB etc; the sorts of issues that affect the food on the table and opportunities presented to the common man; the very things that will drag each and every one of us unto the streets. Instead, it is a protest of selfishness for some, political scheming for others and an opportunity for eye-popping bigotry from the rest. I am deeply perplexed that there educated folk who have abandoned all guidance of critical thinking and engaged personal sentiment/greed in place of hard logic and ironclad principles. The result has been thin, contrived crowds that have failed to connect with hearts. A losing game and a lost opportunity to demonstrate for a better Nigeria. Shame on them. |
