2mch:It is strange that the people your state govt noticed were living in shanties were "foreigners" from the North who have no human rights in your states wicked and arrogant estimation. It is simply two-faced. What happened to Ijora Badia, the worst and most tragic slum in Africa, if not the World? It is even recognised by the UN as a scar on fundamental human rights of its population. It is still where it is because the people are not aboki, not so? Your arguments are truly entertaining, sir! Keep it rolling! You might win a Nobel. lol |
2mch:You want to declare Lagos an independent country, yet you wish the FG to wipe your arse. The FG gives the states more than enough free money (money they don't deserve) to sort themselves out locally, clean themselves up and create jobs. If your state cannot create jobs from the free money the FG gives it, then what right do they have to make poor people homeless? In fact, what does it do with all that dosh? What right does your state have to exist? What will we hear next, that the FG should come feed you and yours 24/7 for free, while you chase poor people out of town? Maybe the irony escapes you. |
2mch:Lol! Dude, this getting even more entertaining! ![]() If only Nigerians like you will learn to read, they wouldn't make such ignorant statements in public, all you have to do is use google really. I see you are trying ever harder to derail the topic, because your arguments are quite childish, weak and defeated. Please forget all these agbero diversions and face the fact that: It is left for your likes to spew crazed psychedelic stuff thats distant from reality to justify the maltreatment of the poor and the bulldozing of their homes. Whereas, everything is paid for by the FG. |
2mch:Stop being jealous of a place that fate has excluded you from. And stop trying to derail the topic, because your arguments are a failure; just admit that it is wicked to make people homeless, especially if those people are poor with nothing to fall back on and nowhere to go. It is evil, sir. |
2mch:Of course the likes of the Ooni of Ife are now Hausa's because they are in PDP! Dude, you are really outta sight!!! I didn't realise you could be this hilarious. Those people are far wiser than you because they can see the stark realities on the ground; there might be flowers and decorations in Lagos, but those things will not sustain even the psychedelic concept sustenance for a country. The only thing that generates money in Nigeria is oil, every other thing is a sad dream at the moment. Even the current diversification of the economy is being driven by oil, no part of the country except the SS and Anambra are ready for a split; it is that realisation that caused your folk to send emissaries in their wisdom. It is left for your likes to spew crazed psychedelic stuff thats distant from reality to justify the maltreatment of the poor and the bulldozing of their homes. Whereas, everything is paid for by the FG. |
2mch:Carrying the rest of the country? ![]() Dude, every last part of Nigeria is an oil parasite. You carry nobody, tell me another new one, cos this is getting quite entertaining! |
2mch:You're funny. You will find that your folk are sending emissaries to the FG on the inviolability of one Nigeria, it was decided just a couple of days ago. But una no de read! ![]() Those who sent emissaries are the practical ones, while dreamers like you make up fantasy stuff to post on the web, its funny. Like I said, no govt has the right to bulldoze poor peoples accommodation without rehousing them. That is just wicked. |
^ The truth is bitter. I guess that is why you are so angry and turning uncivil, Lol Dude, the long and short is that oil is the only economic driver in Nigeria and that includes the far-fetched dreams island you have in mind. As long as the FG is dutifully giving states a monthly stipend, those states MUST see to the human rights of every single individual within their borders and not go bulldozing the homes of the poor in some short-sighted display of wicked arrogance that will only drive the homeless into armed robbery and other crimes. |
^ Lest I forget, the ports will also close down, because there will no longer be any oil driven business and the Dangote's would have left. Keep up with your other far out dreams in the meantime. |
dayokanu:Imagine Aregbesla attempting to cut grass and catch animals with a 50billion loan. |
2mch:So what is the duty of state governors, are they just glorified beggars that collect monthly upkeep from Abuja and do nothing? Your reasoning is wishy-washy my brother. As for the Dangote's and Ibru's moving into Lagos, they only did so because the FG created opportunities in Lagos, not because any governor did. You dream of Lagos being a country? What do you think will happen the moment it declares independence? I will give you a few pointers:
[li]All oil coy's will relocate their headquarters to the oil producing regions[/li] [li]All banks will follow the oil coys[/li] [li]Insurance coys will follow the banks and oil coys[/li] [li]Manufacturers will follow the money[/li] [li]Traders will follow the money[/li] [li]The population will follow the money[/li] [li]Markets at Idumota, Idumagbo, Balogun, Alaba etc will quickly dry up[/li]
Lagos, like the rest of Nigeria, is 100% sustained by oil and dependent on the FG. But you can keep dreaming unrealistic stuff that has no basis in reality. What sources of employment will keep such a country going? The long and short of the argument is that the FG is doing enough to keep Lagos alive, so Lagos in turn should do enough to keep its population happy and their human rights sacred. It shouldn't go around bulldozing the homes of the poor in a wicked display of arrogance. |
I wonder why the pics I posted to severely jazz up the topic were removed? Lol |
2mch:What more do you want the FG to do for Lagos, bath the governor and brush his teeth? Every state already get tonnes of undeserved money from Abuja, IMHO that is more than enough. The FG on its own has shown love for the common man by being the first govt ever to ship Nigerians out of the troubled zones of the World; that is caring. As for your anger about "everybody" moving to Lagos; you might not realise it, but Lagos will quickly collapse without the rest of Nigeria. It is not an island. One important thing to note is that almost all of Lagos IGR comes from increased tax collection, not increased employment and wealth creation. In other words, Lagos like the rest of Nigeria is kept artificially alive by injections of money from Abuja. What country can survive by collecting taxes without generating wealth and employment? The richest people and greatest employers in Lagos today are not Lagosians, but outsiders; the Dangote's and Ibru's etc. So please stuff that "everybody coming to Lagos" line, its a trash argument meant for the intellectually laboured. |
I wonder why he came back when the war was so enjoyable to him. |
Ufeolorun:I can spy that ya name na number one! ![]() I am yet to be convinced 100% about the subsidy, but his alternative policies sound very well thought through, in order and need studying in greater detail before we can comment. As for Iweala, that babe is going nowhere. ![]() |
2mch:Do you actually think they love living at Bar Beach? Or do you think horrible circumstances of need and deprivation by the rich, corrupt and powerful drove them there? We need a new Nigeria, one that cares for every last one of its citizens amd goes the long way to wipe the tears of widows and orphans. Ours is a wicked society that breeds violent responses from those pushed to the wall; if our society wasn't so fragmented, what has been happening across the Middle East would be childsplay in Nigeria; regardless, if this level of wickedness is continued, that day will come and those who think in such cold terms will be swept away. |
^ Abeg, free GEJ jare. |
1luvkipsus:That is the fake Beaf, dufus. If you look again you will notice the difference in spelling. |
This is just another unjust battle between rich and poor. It has little to do with aboki, they were only fighting because they were being made homeless. It is inhuman to bulldoze the houses of the poor without relocating them. Where does the Lagos state govt expect them to go, if not become armed robbers out of despondency? |
In my opinion, the man might have mental problems. He is the same person that was filmed participating in Okija rituals afterall. |
El-rufai only got bitter with GEJ because he was not made a minister. Thats why he has become two-faced. |
daphil:You got it wrong. This is how it should be: Fashola 59 Mimiko 50 Fayemi 40 Amosun 0 Ajumobi 0 Aregbesola useless |
^ He would have wept better. lol |
jason123:You have a way of making connections where there are none. I don't see what Orji's actions have to do with splitting the country, at best your reasoning is a plea to sentiment to avoid a split. I don't see how Orji's actions justify remaining in the same country with those who chop babies in two and burn their corpses. You are not making sense at all. |
Vettel takes pole at Shizuoka. This is almost painful to watch lol Button,HAM,Massa,Alonso and Webber complete the front 6
Yeah, the season has been a predictable one, lets hope the rest isn't boring. |
Is this Governor Orji sick? |
@Toba My sympathy about your car and any other losses due to the floods. This year is not a good one for Lagosians, especially those living in the low lying areas close to the sea and lagoon. The state govt aught to have paid more attention to those drainage areas considering the wealth they generate. I am quite sure Lagos state govt loses in millions too each time there's flooding; the question is why its left to go on perennially. |
OmoLisabi:Does this particular one not make those foolish and wicked claims. . . "Beer Parlour Gossips"? El-Rufai's words in private about Jonathans cleaness and honesty defy his current lying stance. We all know the truth anyway. |
El-Rufai is only stating what everybody knows. GEJ is a clean politician. |
Men, what brand of weed are your smoking because your hallucinations are one of a kind. "STRONG, FEARLESS, etc. Are sure you are talking about Jonathan? Or maybe you meant to say Buhari? Because if you were describing Buhari with there qualities, I agree. But Jonathan , You really have to be smoking something to think those attributes describes Jonathan. If Nairaland can really be taken as a microcosm to analyse Nigeria, then we truly deserve the kind of leadership we've been getting. I weep for Nigeria. Buhari wept like a baby for Nigeria and people on this very forum were abusing him. O ma se o. And to the man BEAF, you are a total disgrace. Your evil will catch up with you. Whatever money you are collecting will a turn to a fountain of bitterness and disgrace for you.
Strong and fearless, yet weeps like a baby? Some of you talk through your arseholes. Get used to it Buhari lost, he will lose his court case and continue losing. Stop being a bitter loser and allow objectivity into your mind. Electricty supply has strongly improved and continues to improve under GEJ, those who claim different from what everybody observes just seem like liars. Especially those like Gbawe who returned from a 12 day trip in Ghana only to notice that something "new" had started happening in Nigeria; power cuts had suddenly begun damaging equipment. Presumably, this was something new that Jonathan started. Buncha losers, whiners and badluck wishers. |
Jonathan is clean, honest – WikiLeaks quotes El-Rufai On October 8, 2011 · In News Contrary to his scathing criticisms, former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Mallam Nasir El-Rufai gave President Goodluck Jonathan a clean bill of health on financial accountability and transparency on the international front,a fresh report by Wikileaks has revealed. In a United States diplomatic cable just made public by the whistle blowing organization, El-Rufai described President Jonathan as “ clean and honest”. Details of the confidential cable with reference 07ABUJA77, show that the controversial politician gave the endorsement during an interactive session with the erstwhile American Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr John Campbell, in the build-up to the 2007 general elections. Explaining the rationale behind the emergence of late President Umaru Yar Adua and Goodluck Jonathan as the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) candidates, El-Rufai informed the ambassador that “they were the only two Governors that could have cleared the EFCC hurdles” The cable further reported El-Rufai as stating that in the contest for the Vice Presidency, “Governor Jonathan was the only candidate that met Obasanjo’s guidelines- honesty and Ijaw” https://vml1.s3.amazonaws.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/El-Rufai2.jpg Mallam Nasir El-Rufai The Ambassador’s report disclosed that “the Minister said the PDP leadership pushed for Rivers Governor Peter Odili as the Vice Presidential candidate but that Odili along with Governors Markafi (Kaduna) and Mu’azu (Bauchi), face ‘integrity issues’ with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)”. These disclosures are in sharp contrast to the virulent and disparaging attacks by former minister on President Jonathan whom he is accusing of corruption, profligacy and mismanagement of the nation’s resources. In one of his recent tirades against the President, El-Rufai alleged that he used “crony capitalist and state funds – variously estimated at between 1 and 2 billion dollars to facilitate his election” He also accused Jonathan of “practically sharing out the nation’s savings account to state governors, Party apparatchiks and traditional rulers to buy their support for his presidential bid” According to the diplomatic cable, El-Rufai denied nursing any presidential ambition but stated that his rumoured interest was only being advanced by his admirers including Obasanjo. “When President Obasanjo called me to ask about my intention, I told him that I would do it, but that I had not campaigned for the position” the report quoted El-Rufai. It added that “According to El-Rufai, the president agreed with him and told him that there were ‘other bridges’ to cross before EL-Rufai was ready “ In the report, The former Minister claimed to have known late President Yar Adua for about 25 years and described him as an “odd fellow”. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/10/jonathan-is-clean-honest-wikileaks-quotes-el-rufai/ |
Joseph Daudu's words make him seem either two-faced, prejudiced, corrupt or foolish to have opposed the removal of Salami. |

. Wipe your mouth again, oil is leaking. You cant do your nonsense maradonna with everyone. The fact remains and back to topic, the FG is responsible for creating incentives, jobs and opportunities in every corner of the country. If this were in place people will not debase themselves by living in dumps and shanties, while oil warriors remind everyone else that they are at their mercy. Focus on doing your job which is deceiving the populace, but the truth remains. It is late, and this argument with you is unnecessary because you will keep arguing as your principals are now in the spotlight. Mr Elepo.
