^ My guy, how much money do you think is coming from abroad these days? Its more like money flowing out of Nigeria to save brothers and sisters abroad; the economic climate in the West is very harsh and getting harsher. . . .By the way, "exactly nothing" was exageration for emphasis. |
aribisala0:It is common knowledge that oil accounts for 95% of our foreign exchange. Depending on the year, it can drop to 89%. Those stats are everywhere, so I really think it wouldn't enrich my argument if I looked for links to back up what we all already know. |
jmaine:That Pataki guy always sounded so crude. He was as uncivil as Eko Ile. There were quite a few others that made death threats on NL, in my opinion the present low on the site is the result of the extremely rabid and bigoted politics the Buhari followers introduced. |
Without oil money, Nigeria would have zero foreign exchange, because we export exactly nothing apart from oil. Oil is the be all and end all of Nigeria. If you don't believe it, then the Moon might as well be in Ajegunle. The GDP figures the CBN quotes are to make us happy, its the only drug Nigerians can legally sniff. Look around you, GDP from what? |
^ "Why do you always derail topics? I don't understand, is it a poor brain quality issue?" |
^ That question doesn't even qualify. The Aso Rock clinic cannot lack anything, nobody jokes with their President. proudly9ja:Lol! Vendor can't enter Aso Rock o! You wan make 'e paralyse? |
PointB:Lol! I can imagine them sweating blood, popping veins and developing hypertension. To be a vulture na very very bad tin! ![]() |
The woman has done the best for her kids and I congratulate her. Some of those condemning her are in the UK, not out of desperation, but for 419 and credit card fraud (just like Ibori). |
^ Why do you always derail topics? I don't understand, is it a poor brain quality issue? |
PointB:Exactly. ![]() In the meantime, I can see how extremely pained some are that the man who stands on their tainted pulpit declared GEJ to be both clean and honest. Winshes and their cackling ways. ![]() |
I can only say its good to be in Aso Rock. Lol! What we haven't considered though is the number of staff those figures cover. State house is a very big place housing hundreds of people and employing thousands from soldiers, police, SSS to cooks, cleaners, secretaries etc and having all sorts of different offices. Its like feeding a town. |
Imagine stealing a whole oil tanker! ! They have facilities to scrap stolen ships. It is utterly disgraceful. |
islamrules:This is exactly what I'm saying. In these times of boko haram, those men need to be thoroughly quizzed until the whole truth pops out. |
Great analysis. The govt needs to open the full package of their alternate offering to the people, so we can have a healthy discussion to choose the best path. Whatever the case may be, we cannot continue to be held to ransome by the fuel importing mafia, something needs to be done to break their back and sieze Nigeria back from networks with deep tentacles everywhere that sabotage our refineries and keep us in the shameful bind of an oil producer that imports fuel. |

All "prophets" should be jailed. They are of no use to society. |
I will take that as a yes then. You see my friend, it takes more than luck to secure people.
If by yes, you mean you are sounding as foolish as Eko Ile, dayokanu and Demdem, then we are agreed; especially as it was your people from Kenny Martins to Tafa Balogun that were involved. These days, you guy's have produced the legendary Ikuforiji as a reminder. See one side of the coin, and you've seen the other. Buffoon. |
talknafree:As you say, talk na free; so you use your mouth foolishly. Anyway, this is a thread for people to lament foolishly when a case is still in court. So go right on, bruv its fools day today!!! The day for the offspring of fools, with you as chairman!! Celebrate!!!! ![]() |
nasty45:Come and try so you will know how quickly you will break the record for pant wetting like a lil babe. Donkey. |
Beaf, What happened to N50billion police equipment fund? Apart from cars gifts bought and distributed to politicians? Did the remaining go into campaign?
You will soon begin sounding as foolish as Eko Ile, dayokanu and Demdem. I wonder why a grown up would ask foolish questions out of the blue? Stop derailling the topic, I don't enjoy the attention of fools. |
Gani worked in vain to put Tinubu in jail for forgery, because the Lagos state House of Assembly under Olorunnimbe Mamora twisted the law. Tinubu was even bold enough to get area boys to throw sachets of pure water at Gani Fawehinmi. What an insult! ![]() |
Lagos is not lucky. Lagos is proactive with security. Lagos security fund, unlike the police equipment fund of the PDP-led federal govt, is on the ground providing police with necessary equipment to aid operations.
Shut up man, and stop talking out of point. The weapons might even belong to a politician, and all are the same. |
This guys are definitely much more than mere kidnappers. With the finding of rocket launchers, explosives and the sheer volume of ammunition, it is almost certain that they are part of some sort of militia. In my opinion, Lagos is very lucky to have escaped their unslaught; thorough investigations need to be carried out into who and what they really are. |
Tinubu’s supporters believe their hero would come out of his trial without blemish. Their confidence is premised on history. In January 2009, EFCC cleared Tinubu and governors James Ibori of Delta State and Obong Victor Attah of Akwa Ibom State of charges of conspiracy, money laundering, abuse of office and official corruption in relation to a sale of V-mobile network shares in 2004. In September 2009, however there were reports that the British Metropolitan Police were investigating a transaction in which the Lagos State government made an investment in Econet (now Zain). Tinubu said the transaction was straightforward and profitable to the state, with no intermediaries involved. The federal government rejected a request by Britain to release evidence needed for further investigation and prosecution of the three Nigerian ex-governors in a London court. In his first term as governor, Tinubu was accused of certificate forgery but the state House of Assembly under Olorunnimbe Mamora who later became a senator gave him clean bill. All efforts made by the late Lagos-fiery lawyer, Gani Fawehinmi to jail him for forgery became waste.http://leadership.ng/nga/articles/5806/2011/09/29/tinubu_prosecution_or_persecution.html https://serving.thisdaylive.com/0bef99d6-acf5-4e2c-9779-8fa02ba3fcd4/assets/2302F01.Bola-Tinubu.jpg?maxwidth=400&maxheight=540 |
Nigeria, Ghana may clash over stolen ship Written by Dele Aderibigbe, Lagos Monday, 10 October 2011 There’s a looming diplomatic row between the maritime regulatory authorities of Ghana and Nigeria as a marine tanker vessel, MT Kemepade, declared missing in Nigeria has been found in Ghana, slated for urgent scrapping. Already, the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) has reportedly sent a protest letter to the Presidency, through the Federal Ministry of Transport, expressing its displeasure that a tanker vessel which was declared missing in the Lagos anchorage on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 had been found in a ship yard at Tema Habour in Ghana with the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) number wipped off, contrary to laid down maritime norms. International rules to which both Nigeria and Ghana subscribe to, stipulate that any vessel slated for scrapping must submit legitimate documents from its owners, past and present as well as the last certificating authority, all of which must be contacted for authentication, before any ship could be scrapped. A rule which NIMASA insisted Ghana, deliberately or othrwise, refused to follow. The Nigerian Tribune was told that when the MT Kemepade was reported missing by its owner, it also had one sailor on board at the time. It was further gathered that in line with its statutory responsibility to ensure the safety and security of ships on Nigerian waters, the management of NIMASA had sent signals to all neighbouring shipping and maritime regulatory authorities alerting them of the development and requesting for assistance, in case the vessel was sighted in their areas. http://www.tribune.com.ng/index.php/news/29414-nigeria-ghana-may-clash-over-stolen-ship |

edicolove:Thanks bro. If you want to know how unintelligent many of us are, just pop into threads like this one. The very same fools screaming in loud decibels that they have been oppressed, cheated and beaten for 51 years will be the ones to sell their mothers to the enemy for a shilling when a saviour walks in. @topic If you do not understand what the subject is, shouting and jumping high does not make you seem morally upright, it does the opposite and makes you look like a pack of id!ots struggling hard to continue wallowing in the same old faeces that you complain about. Get to know who benefits from the fuel subsidy and why that makes each and every one of us a slave. |
N100b power subsidy for low income earners coming By Nduka Chiejina 1 hour ago The Federal Government is to inject N100 billion in the 2012 budget as subsidy to cushion the effect of electricity tariff on low income earners, The Nation has learnt A source at the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) said as part of its efforts to source for funds for Nigeria’s power projects, it has been able to get the Minister of Finance/C-ordinating Minister of the Economy, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, to dedicate N100 billion in the 2012 budget as subsidy for the impending high electricity tariff. The official, however, claimed that Okonjo-Iweala agreed to the figure on the condition that the subsidy would be of benefit low income earners who may not be able to afford the planned electricity tariff. The decision to source for funds other than what investors would bring as proceeds of the privatisation of the power companies, he said, is to assure bidders for the power companies that President Goodluck Jonathan wants the power transactions to be completed on schedule “and has assured all parties of his maximum support.” He lamented that distribution and transmission components of the power sector of the privatisation are posing serious challenges to the government, a development that has forced the BPE to make advances to them to ensure that funds are sourced to expand the transactions. At present, the BPE, the official said, is sourcing funds from different local and multilateral agencies. The privatisation of the power sector, he pointed out, will be interactive between the government and potential investors, stressing: “If there are issues regarding transactions, we need close, we will interact with investors to get the exercise right.” Another thorny point in the power sector privatisation, he said is the lingering labour crisis. He said the BPE “hopes to use the money paid to address labour issues. There is a tacit agreement that the proceeds will be used expeditiously, but that it would be paid first into the nation’s coffers as required by law before it is used to settle labour matters.” The BPE official also admitted that labour issues were a challenge, because the government “wants investors to have access to sites and does want investors to be barred from sites.” He assured the bidders that “by October 14, 2011, the BPE expects to have resolved labour issues because they are interested in seeing investors run their businesses with minimum discomfort.” http://www.thenationonlineng.net/2011/index.php/business/22308-n100b-power-subsidy-for-low-income-earners-coming.html |
