doyin13: So you see a story thats an obvious invention of the press and thats not the issue? Whats happening to morality? How low can one go, because they lost elections? |
See how these terrorists strike their targets at will. From tomorrow, you will see the National Security Adviser summoning meetings of security chiefs, you will see them blocking all the exit and entry points in and out of Abuja, yet simple intelligence have been failing themThis is 100% Nigerian English, its not better than what one would hear in a carpenters workshop. What "diplomatic source" uses such poor English? And when did "diplomatic sources" begin giving clandestine interviews to the press? The Nigerian press is 3rd rate at best. |
^ I don't think we lack people who really want to practicalise their solutions. The biggest problem they face is fellow Nigerians and the cynical "shoot your neighbour down" attitude (I've personally been shot down over and over). We need to be able to forge some sort front to overcome such people and take our nation to the height it belongs. |
Fayimora:I know I emphasised that we do things to suit our culture perspective. That perspective should also include our peculiar circumstances, so we could easily replace your mention of electricity with solar energy. All we need do is find innovative ways to look within and we will find that all the answers are freely around us. The sad thing is that the UK is also ahead of us in consumption of solar energy, which should not be. |
jason123:Not at all, rather its about team spirit as bossinie pointed out earlier. I don't see what all the spin and storm is about GEJ's orders to his ministers; being a non-leading member of a team is only a challenge to those who don't have service to the people topmost in their hearts. This hoopla raised about the order is just more of the usual rubbish from the usual anti-GEJ brigade, Gbawe is their thin-legged chief priest. Why have we never heard the same from the Senate? After all there are several committee's, and sub-committee's, all of which have leaders. Why don't other Senators feel belittled, or is it something specific to Ministers? |
Gbawe:Of course he should allow the ministers run independent republics or better still, come to you to you and the rampant Aregbesola's plaguing the land for leprous advice. Lol! The President has issued his orders, those who don't like it are the usual jealous spectators. |
I wonder what Eric Schmidt would say about Nigeria's education system, maybe he'll have a pearl or two about our computer science depts as well. Nigeria will continue to lag behind in innovation and technology until our education is fixed; there are lessons for us from Eric Schmidt's jibe a the UK whom we are a very long way behind. The solution to our problems is not employing high tech in our class rooms, but how we apply our brains to harness the little finances available to serve us according to our unique cultural needs. |
mobinga: The entire idea of HTML5 and Javascript as main tools for developing on Windows 8 is a silly idea to me.An obvious reason why you will never work in an innovative firm like Microsoft. People like you continue to see and love yesterday, does any more need be said? Microsoft has deprecated all you know and there are no sentiments attached, you don't own the platform, they do. Those tools are NOT capable of carrying industrial strength applications. Fact.Lol! Microsoft itself is telling you that html5 and JavaScript are going to be the first class citizens on Windows 8, both being capable of handling native functions. Or don't you know what native means? Dude, go read up on Internet Explorer 10 thats what will run the Windows 8 interface, it might just save your job and your life. http://blogs.msdn.com/b/ie/archive/2011/04/12/native-html5-first-ie10-platform-preview-available-for-download.aspx |
Aigbofa:Do you not think that is due to rampant illiteracy, which in turn can be traced to the core-Northern elite deliberately keeping their own out of education even though the held the reins of power? |
What is the big deal if the boss tells his employees they must cooperate with Iweala? She is the points-man, and her department is the anchor around whom everything hangs, everything is done with money so its pretty obvious that the finance dept will coordinate every other dept. Its a new coordinated way of doing things, unlike in the past when things were done almost in the same way as rolling dice; there is strength in unity and we see govt laying out plans in such a way that all depts are now in synchrony with finance as the fulcrum. Every Nigerian is agreed that the economy is of paramount importance, we need to grow it and spread the benefits to the woman and man on the street. Everything in govt is now tailored around generating wealth for the country, even our foreign policy has had to refocus to that end. IMHO, all Nigerians need to embrace this new and organised way of tackling govt problems, it will introduce efficiencies where there was only waste. A new country is quietly being born. Change will always be resisted by the corrupt old guard who are losing out, but change is here to stay. And here to stay for the good of the common man, the country and the economy. |
Pervasive poverty, worsened by unchecked government corruption, is as much part of the problem as fervent religious belief. A stark economic contrast between the mainly Muslim north and the Christian and animist south is also fanning the flames. Literacy rates in the north-east are two-thirds lower than in Lagos, the southern business hub. Less than 5% of women are able to read and write in some northern states. Income per head is 50% lower than in the Christian south. The lack of economic opportunities is driving some into the arms of radicals. All this and yet the core-Northern elite has held the reins of govt for more than 80% of Nigeria's history. It is a really shameful show, the elite have been all to ready to help themselves to oil loot, while Nigerians and their own people in particular wallow in poverty; indeed, the average core-Northerner has been deliberately kept away from school and kept malleable with maliciously false interpretations of religious writ. There are more than 10 million almajiri's running around today courtesy of the leadership failure in the core-North; these are kids whose dreams have been cut short even before they have begun to live. The core-North is a time bomb waiting to go off. When it does, the oppressive elite that have kept their own in bestial conditions will be first to be swept away as the place implodes under the stresses of false religion, poverty, illiteracy and disease. Quick intervention is needed to avert a bloodbath of spine-chilling proportions; programmes need to be set in place to create jobs, educate the masses and divert minds from perilous religious directions. |
afam4eva:Dude, you will be shocked if you walk into a place like Nigerian Security Printing and Minting, it is like walking into an office in Saudi (even when they were head-quartered in lag). |
^ It is exactly the same situation in the army, police, SSS, PHCN, customs and civil service (NNPC has been yanked away to some degree). They disproportionately hold the top posts, federal character only works in education. |
^ The Queen can only sack her own staff. @topic The Queen is the titular Head of state, while the Prime Minister is the true Head of State. The Queens position is purely ceremonial, she takes no part in law making which is the function of Parliament. |
Araoye001:Dude, lets be civil about this. It is common knowledge that the drains in Ibadan are chocked with rubbish and so fail to serve their purpose. If the drains were clear, the damage and loss of life would have been minimised. To that end, it was unconscionable for the gov to have cancelled the keep Ibadan clean programme as Anvaller mentioned; Nigerian politicians need to learn live above the knee-jerk small-mindedness that makes them smash laudable policies of their predecessors for no reason other than to massage the corrupt pockets of their cronies. Such actions have immeasurable cost in lives and livelihoods. This disaster, as much as no one can halt natures might, also points at political failures. Let each and everyone of us learn to do things with the peoples welfare as our number one priority, after all money is an inanimate object that can never buy life. |
I think ultimately she is well-meaning. But sometimes she says and does stuff that makes you want to slap the he11 out of her. A personality flaw of sorts, but overall a good person (This is my interpretation, I could be wrong! Maybe she really is malicious, i just doubt it.)
I am convinced of the bolded. There is absolutely nothing funny when disaster strikes, and it is difficult to find words to describe those who get a thrill from macabre events and sorrowful situations. How many people would roll on the floor laughing in a time of tragedy? Kobojunkie is the same person that sided with oyb when he said all ND people should be rounded up in cattle cars and herded into gas chambers. You only have to look into a persons history to make up your mind about what they really are. At times like this, normal people gather round to give strength to those who lost property and succour to the bereaved. |
bossinie:Brilliant analysis. |
The race hasn't even started yet and Vettels tyres are massively fu'cked already! I hope Lewis can pass him safely before the first corner. |
This is really sad and the worst thing is that it happens year in year out. We need to find a permanent solution, or at least a framework to guide against floods turning to disasters. May the souls of the dead rest in peace. |
There is nothing new about the FBI helping Nigeria with investigating boko haram. The US, UK and Israel have been helping Nigeria investigate bomb blasts for close to a year now. |
Who even listens to you ACN clods anywhere in Southern Nigeria any more? You guys are like a bunch of shifty eyed traitors. Go on rejoicing at the sight of innocent blood like primitives, because you think thats what opposition is all about. |
Vettel gets poll. Vettel Lewis Webber Massa beats Alonso for the first time and Senna makes 6th on his first qualifiers since his return, nice one! Also great quali from Lewis with his patched up car. |
Alonso snatches P1 (Q2) at the last minute. Sadly Jenson is out and Lewis car is damaged. |
Lewis overtakes Maldonado in Q2 and still makes P1! |
^ Dude, just bring your fellow winshes out to party at the sight of blood. What do you guys do in ACN, drink blood? God alone can fathom why you find the deaths of several innocent Nigerians something to laugh at like a demon. Monster. |
egift:You are not making any sense. Are you saying Buhari is connected to boko haram? Or whats your point with the above. Is this thread all about bitterness at losing the elections? Abeg let keep it clean. By the way, as far as Nigerians can see, the problem is 100% Northern and 100% sponsored extremist Islam. |
^ People have died and all you can do is post tasteless articles. What will you turn to next, cannibalism? Disgunting. |
^ Go back to your midnight coven where you can sup on blood. Evil thing. |
Gbawe:Sharap, you were always the number one bigot, people will gradually begin to react to the bigotry and evil attitudes you and your criminal party put out. Keep on laughing at the dead Nigerians, killed by bitter fools like yourself. Bitter, because you lost elections. Losers. |
By educating Northerners and saving the almajiri's on the one hand, and replacing the top echelon of the army and police on the other; it is well known that these important parts of the nations security are sponsors of boko haram. This is a clear 4 - 10 year plan. Anything else is rubbish. |
Gbawe:You are mocking your own ineptitude and wickedness by rejoicing in spilt blood. One would have thought only witches and wizards feasted on blood. Worthless scum. Vampire. |
^ The foolish Gbawe leaves in the UK. |
