the probe should be carried out by upright and independent members of the public. If Gani was alive, I'd have suggested his name too; this is the time for the Keyamo's etc to be wheeled out to serve the nation.
Politics › Re: Reps Suspend Lawan, Order Anti-graft Agencies To Investigate Otedola’s Firm by Beaf: 6:53pm On Jun 16, 2012
Iliveon: Nigeria politics is more like the more you look the less you see. For some of us who don't understand the underground dealings, we would always rush to defend these policians who perharps care less about us. My understanding of the intrigues unfolding is this; the presidency sees the subsidy probe as a tool against her and her co-travellers.unfortunately,Farook is a crook who thought he is smart buh stupid played himself into their hands.Discredit the messenger discredit the message was the watch-word. The question is If Farook collected money to exonerate FO's companies from the list and he did just that would it then be proper to say that what the legistlooters was right to re-enlist FO companies and recommended same for investigation at the same time suspended the bribe takers? I think they have acted well and in good faith.Let those that are afraid of the probe report go to court of law to challenge it rather than using frame-up,intimidation and blackmail to discredit the report. N:B. Beaf and co who would not respond to post without insult should please try to stop because a lot of young people visit this site.
If not that your position is based on bias (which is why you are expecting to be insulted), you would have long since realised that Tambuwal, Farouk etc are the proverbial wolf in sheeps clothing, fighting to suck both your blood and the blood of your kids.
Many of you have no understanding about how things work in Nigeria, it is golden wisdom to learn it. I made the post below elsewhere, please read it, it will answer some of your questions:

Beaf: Your post was my first ever use of the "like" button.

During the fuel subsidy crisis, some of us screamed ourselves wretched that the people were falling for the biggest con; they decided to fight the oil cabals battles to enslave them with amazing vigour!
Suddenly, GEJ, Deziani Madueke and Okonjo Iweala became public enemy number one for campaigning for the removal of the subsidy, because it was corrupt. In fact, the people did an acrobatic, logic defying 360 and decided that those who were calling for an end to the corrupt subsidy system were the guilty ones. Wonders!

The Farouk Lawan picture is even worse than you have painted, because he was using the probe as a 2015 weapon against GEJ. That is why Otedola who imports only diesel which is not subsidised was blackmailed by Farouk. Nobody batted an eyelid when Rilwan Lukman, Nigeria's serial oil minister (and under whom the vast proportion of subsidy crime occurred) was not even as much as mentioned by Farouk and his impish gang.
It was about destroying innocent people, while entrenching the interests of the oil cabal. 85% of indigenious oil blocks are owned by a few core-Northern elite.

These oil wells were illegally given out by IBB, Abacha (with Buhari's connivance) and Adulsalam; the licenses are due to run out between 2016 and 2018 and they fear that the only way they can retain hold is by shifting power back to the "North." That is why politics has taken the shape of no holds barred warfare, with stuff like boko haram fully deployed to make the country ungovernable. There are less than 100 men in that clique, yet they make more money annually from oil than the entire Niger Delta.

The Nigerian populace just likes life easy, so they never bother to look below the surface. They love rumours, so are easy to deceive.
If this was a less serious matter, I would have opened several "I told you so!" threads by now, but lets just sit and wait with grim patience as truth after truth unfolds.

If I understand you correctly, you are simply praying that the house of rep should never be called to account because you hate GEJ. Thats a very strange place to be, bro.

The house is a den of criminality and a weapon against the interests of the citizen on the street. Coated voices like yours deceived the people that Farouk was their hero, now the truth has blown open, you should be hiding in shame.

The house of rep members deserve to be tracked down and those found guilty, and if possible, lined up against a wall and summarily shot.
Politics › Re: Another N1.5bn Fraud Rocks House Of Reps by Beaf: 5:58pm On Jun 16, 2012
I posted this on another thread, but its apt here as well. We cannot continue entrusting our lives to the pack of greed and politically motivated worshippers of of Beelzebub in the house of rep:

Did I not say it yesterday that the house of reps would be marooned with legal battles due to their connivance in Farouks extortion? What we saw the den of fuckers do yesterday, was simply spit on our collective moral sensibilities. This is the beginning of the end.

I suggest a brand new subsidy probe under the leadership of known upright citizens like Hajia Najatu Muhammed, Olisa Agbakoba, Prof. Wole Soyinka, Colonel Umar etc.

A member of the House who pleaded anonymity however said, “I believe there is more to this sudden focus on the House by agents of the executive. It is beyond a coincidence that one scandal keeps breaking after another as if the House is the only organ of government where these things happen. We believe they are deliberate and targeted.”

naptu2: This case is not really about the money. It's about things that will be revealed if the case goes to trial. Therefore, the house will try to prevent a trial by raising objections (in the preliminary stages) based on the principles of separation of power and parliamentary immunity (that's when the judge will have to answer that question; is there a difference?). Will their objections succeed?

(I hope/pray that it goes to trial, but I'm not optimistic).
I see where you are coming from now. It might be possible to get some sort of indirect grip on them through the various investigations so far that have found the $620,000.00 to be incomplete (traced to who? I wonder) and a further unmarked $10,000.00 in Lawans home overnight; there is also the case of the phone logs etc. Could these not be used as some sort of fulcrum to prove that the events of yesterday in the house were fuelled by corruption?

I'm guessing you are a solid legal mind from your posts on various NL issues. So please, bro; it would be really nice of you to help us laymen to understand and fill in the gaps. Much appreciated.

Dude, speak for yourself. Your intelligence has already been played on by Tambuwal, Lawan etc and found missing.
Please start a fund raising campaign first. If you people are successful at raising only N2million without killing each other off, I'll start taking you seriously. The people you are trying to unseat are well funded and will use their funds to equip locals to beat you with clubs and kobokos, when you show up to oppose them and their families. cheesy
Not everything is about money, bro. In fact, the first thing thats needed to sensitise the grassroots is good old networking, word of mouth... Call it what you like, everyone knows thats free. The second thing thats needed is commitment and steadfastness, again thats free. The third factor is morality, its free. The fourth is discipline and principle, its damn free. At fifth is brain power, which too is free.

All we need are good quality people who are committed and a message to take to the grassroots. APGA, ACN, CPC, PDP, LP or DPP; Urhobo, Efik, Hausa, Edo, Igbo, Birom, Yoruba, Afemai... We don't give a damn, just get to the grassroots. cool

We can begin to hammer out the messages, theme and guidance to take home right here. Also, later today, I'll provide a list of all 360 reps (and their photo's), after that, do the same for the senate and LG chairmen too. We will need a database of of contacts and pressure points to launch our battle for representation and accountability at all levels. That too doesn't take money, bro. cool

thegoodjoehunt: Pls there is no proof that there is anything like subsidy Cabal. This incident even shows it. How can billions leave the central bank unaccounted for and talk of people owning Oil blocks. Don't attribute any praise to GEJ and co here. There is no proof of Cabals here, if there are SLS must have at least some real names.
You will continue to remain blind and be easy fodder to be used. I'm sure you were among those who were fooled by the house of rep and screamed from the rooftops that Tambuwal was a great guy, after unthinkingly rushing out on pro-subsidy riots that were against your interest and in the interest of the cabal. Well, you should be hailing Lawan now, cos he fooled you too.

If you cannot understand the high stakes that make current politics is so bitter and you are unwilling to learn, what can I do? Why do you think for instance that anyone would be so desperate as to apply boko haram as a political tool? Your mind is your own enemy, bro.
I do not enjoy having arguments with people who only provide weak responses with no basis. Again, here is the definition of the cabal and those who hold Nigeria by the balls:

Let me remind NL that the cabal are those who got their oil blocks from IBB, Abacha (and Buhari), and Abdulsalam. These people (less than 100) make more money per year than the entire Niger Delta, yet are surrounded by almajiri's and extending their proboscis across Nigeria to suck the blood out of the man in the street. For the country to be free, the grip of their tentacles has to be calmly loosened - their influence is everywhere; police, army, customs, govt, NASS...
If hailing GEJ over this matter pains you, I can only offer bandages and panadol. Who controls the SSS? Who do you think would have okayed the the vast sum of $620,000.00 to be released?
