yemmight:What we have is the failure of our political system. I have always cried out that true federalism is the only way to give every Nigerian true representation at all levels. Today, we have the sad scenario of people being held hostage by their governors in several states (and it cuts across political parties), but the people are powerless to remove them or even sanction them. The thing we all need to do as a first step, is ensure that each and every one of our votes count in 2011, that way we can get a better set of people into power. |
mbulela:If someone makes a ridiculous claim that a governor is "untouchable" by the President, I'll call it just what it is and in no uncertain terms. Why don't you have the President choose a governor for you too, instead of voting? If your governor is failing, the mechanism to eject him lies in your state. It is brain lazy Nigerians that look elsewhere for solutions to local problems. Soon you guy's will begin referring women that can't concieve to the President. . . Utterly laughable lot! |
Nobody is investing in oil in the Niger Delta. There are just bloody thieves and oil bunkerers. In any event, the whole of Abuja was paid for by oil, so whats your argument? |
Gbawe:How ridiculous can a grown up get? Does Jonathan now impeach governors? Doesn't your state have a House of Assembly that can do that? If you cared enough for your state, you would be going through the right channels, instead of making odd squeaks here. Has your governor told you his state is out of his control? Reasoning like yours is the more reason states should be merged, because even seemingly educated people have no clue about how democracies are run. |
oyb:So you aren't even man enough to own up! . . .Instead, Next made up all the trash you've been spewing! 234Next made you spread beer palour rumours about other people? Wow! We shall always witness wonders! I am sure Next told you exactly how to manufacture news and coin lies too. Na wa o! ![]() Ok, lets assume you were reading something from the gutter which you somehow assumed (as usual) to be quality news like is supplied by Next; are you still with me? Now, the person whom the story hinges on, comes out and says, "you're all fcking liars, that story never happened!" How do you now see yourself? Goodluck Nigeria! |
0Edward0:This is it; http://nigerdeltastandard.com/?p=1917 @topic The former State Governor, Dr. Peter Odili has also denied his involvement and support for Ateke Tom. Odili who spoke through his media adviser, Mr. Emmah Okah in a telephone interview, expressed surprise over the overseas trip of Ateke Tom.He is Odili's boy. |
oyb:Poor meathead, GEJ is something like 100 times smarter than you. Its painful, but Ribadu says you've been lying to discredit both him and Jonathan. He never had a case against Patience Jonathan; I feel like crying for you! Some Nigerians just love their rumours and to manufacture "facts" in beer palours sha. https://www.pharmacy2u.co.uk/images/catalogue/medium/Panadol32.jpg |
monkeyleg:Like which ones? The ones that made us into fuel importers? Which ones? Is it the ones that deliberately ran down our refineries? I am waiting to learn. Not only has GEJ cured the fuel scarcity problem, there are 3 refineries being built. Goodluck Nigeria! |
If ribadu is contesting the presidential election and is still honourable enough to clear the air on this patience jonathan issue, then I am seriuosly considering voting for him. And I mean am. I know some self-acclaimed progressives on NL would rather die, than say the truth especially when it stands to favour their opponent.
Gbawe and oyb. ![]() |
It has nothing to do with GEJ and I feel insulted by that insinuation and feel it is an irresponsible dodge. I am really shocked such has been said, we need to respect one another and not resort to wild conjecture. I am quite sure there have been anti-Jonathan stories on the front page that I haven't complained about. I just don't like tribalistic threads or the feeling that tribalism is being deliberately stocked. It is well known that Ojukwu is an Igbo Icon and deserves some difference, the same goes to the likes of Balewa, Enahoro, Zik etc. The names of such people cannot be dragged around on the basis of a questionable article carried by a lone questionable news source, the Compass a known tabloid paper. A simple google search for news two days around the Sept 13 date Compass published their story on, proves that no other paper carried such news; http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=jonathan+ojukwu&hl=en&rls=com.microsoft%3Aen-gb%3AIE-SearchBox&rlz=1I7TSEA_en&prmd=odf&sa=X&ei=WUuTTOnVDsnLswbXmLT3CQ&ved=0CBAQpwU&source=lnt&tbs=cdr%3A1%2Ccd_min%3A12%2F9%2F2010%2Ccd_max%3A15%2F9%2F2010 |
Gbawe:You are a known starter of rumours and paster of discredited info, so please point at yourself. It is funny that you haven't found that this news is carried by more than one source. Poor Gbawe! You can't make up lies and generate rumour on this one, you've heard it from the horses mouth, so to speak! Shame! https://www.pharmacy2u.co.uk/images/catalogue/medium/Panadol32.jpg |
babasoty:Yeah, I like this too! Really witty! |
@jakumo You wan kill pesin wit laff? ![]() desgiezd:Becomerich says he speaks "batu," not English! ![]() |
9ijaMan: 9ijaMan:You will not stoop low, yet you are from the gutter? I thought you said I wasn't worth the time? But I guess the truth is so bitter, you just had come back at me again! Thats what pain does, sometimes it makes even grown men cry. ![]() Dude, you're strangely funny, maybe even weird (but we get that with the average IBB fanboys). That is why you set politics aside to attack a mans household and family, displaying, not just poor judgement, but poor upbringing as well. For you, politics is a motor pack tout style fight in the gutter, no respect either for yourself or your opponent. Shame. Go to your so called history (which has failed you) and tell me what civilian, from Balewa to the present has had the guts to fell 35 generals in one swoop. Of course, you can't, cos none has. All you can do is open your gutter and abuse other peoples families like an !diot. Dude rest, your battery is dead. |
oyb:Dude! We've been searching for you all over NL. Your nemesis is on this thread, please don't be a pee your pantaloons and bring your colleague, Gbawe along; https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-515027.0.html Laf no go kill pesin sha! ![]() www.nairaland.com/attachments/180447_ROTFLMAO_gif3d0c775232c7f27cf80592785b9635b6 |

May he live long and suffer long. |
Where are the main proponents? I guess they are now ashamed and hiding under their smelly little rocks. ![]() |
Can the "Jonathan snubs Ojukwu" thread be removed from the front page? It is obviously a story that never happened and has become another tribalistic to and fro, as is to be expected. https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-513509.0.html |
Nice! Chai! . . .Gbawe & oyb will die of pain o!!!!! Goodluck Nigeria! IBB people = Foolish people |
Ribadu listed his priorities as security; effective power supply; free education; sound medical facilities; and collective leadership. He said: "I want to immediately provide those basic things. They are so important to us. I must insist that we must have security immediately, instantly; there is no time to waste on that. I want to see that we can immediately solve the problem of power.http://thenationonlineng.net/web3/news/13500.html I am wondering how anybody can "immediately" or "instantly" provide security, effective power supply, free education, sound medical facilities? Why the wild and unfulfillable promises? Nuhu! You de make me fear! |

9ijaMan:You sound so much like a hate filled loser. You come across so much like Tanko Yakasai or Kanti Bello, who simply hate Jonathan because they are shameless tribal bigots. Talking stup!dly about a mans household and family shows you lack respect for yours. There is no need saying things that are borderline foolish or outright dishonest, because you are opposed to a candidate (for whatever reason). The removal of the service chiefs and their replacement with not just a much junior officer, but one of Igbo stock, amounts to nothing short of a coup. Only kids think it is less. |
He is still a thief. |
Is it not Theodore Orji's govt? He is the same person that wanted to introduce sharia to Abia and was videoed at okija? The FG needs to swing into action to get this man behind bars soonest, I am quite sure that alone would solve 70% of the kidnapping issue. The next thing is to ensure that immunity for governors is dropped, so that not only will they not behave with impunity while in office, but they will also not have the time afforded by immunity to cover their tracks. |
mbulela:Cameron might fly in commercial jets, but there is a whole Airforce Squadron dedicated to him and the Royal Family - No. 32 (The Royal) Squadron; http://www.royal.gov.uk/TheRoyalHousehold/Transport/Royalairtravel.aspx. The argument that Cameron flies commercially only, is quite weak and lacking credit. In fact, it is simply beer palour talk and that just kills your whole argument. The primary role of 32 (The Royal) Squadron's is to provide support in operational theatres for the Ministry of Defence. Any spare capacity on the aircraft is offered to the Royal Family, the Prime Ministerand senior Ministers. Royal flying accounts for less than 20% of the combined tasking of both the BAe 146 and the HS125.http://www.royal.gov.uk/TheRoyalHousehold/Transport/Royalairtravel.aspx. History here; http://www.raf.mod.uk/organisation/32squadron.cfm |
MrPrsdent:I disagree. If you check his military pics, he seemed much darker and if anything, skin darkens with age. Another one; https://www.eyewitnessnewsng.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/ibb103.jpg |
mikeansy:For the very first time in its history, NNPC was made 100% auditable and the books showed a hell hole of ugliness. There were mind boggling gaps in the figures, which when reconciled, pointed at the obvious. . . The fact however, is that as much as we might deceive ourselves within Nigeria that yams and other fcknots make up 46% of our GDP, we cannot deceive oyibo. They know what money goes in and what money comes out; above all, they know that Nigeria makes 90% of her money from oil. They know that NNPC is Nigeria. If a junior minister is so loose lipped as to claim that the NNPC is broke to the tune of ground shaking amounts, what does that portend for the country? There are huge problems to be fixed in the country and like any other country, these things can best be fixed with external investment and finance. For example, there are 3 new refineries already signed off for the whopping sum of $23billion (3.5 trillion Naira), part of which is external funding. . . How do you keep a minister who does not understand that the packaging must be right to foreigners? Why should such a person remain a minister? Lets not forget that his words caused a near Earthquake in Global financial circles as far as Nigeria was concerned and several high ranking enquiries were made. A minister is an ambassador, and an ambassador does not rubbish his country, there are others to clear up the mess (eg comitees and probes). |
mikeansy:Thats why Uncle Joe might be using the National Stadium, rather than Eagle Square, cos crowd "ti poju!" ![]() |
I have been asking myself why his skin looks so patchy these days too! You will notice his cheeks are dark and blotchy, especially the right cheek. Dude is already looking like a dead body! |
