dayokanu: I saw videos where Israel issued vocal warning to the ship. Before they took off, Israel already warned them about the consequences, but they chose to find out the consequences for themselves.Really? Are you versed in the technologies needed to verify and vouch for those videos beyond reasonable doubt? The rest of the World has also seen those videos and would wish to verify them, but as we all witnesses, Israel does not want an independent investigation. Why? Surely its a simple enough case to resolve? In my opinion, that throws serious doubt on the integrity of those video's, especially as the victims (including German govt officials) have a completely different eyewitness account of events. Lets have an internationally accepted investigation to throw light on the storming of the aid ships and killing of international volunteers in international waters. |
Breaking news Isaac Herzog (cabinet member) is this minute arguing against a UN investigation, claiming Israel wants the dust to settle down and after that Israel will investigate by itself. The question is, what is Isaac Herzog trying to hide? The incident occured in international waters and is within the remit of the UN to investigate. In the UK, David Cameron has just said that the incident was unnacceptable and the blockade of Gaza must be ended. |
I really pity those religious fanatics that have allowed sentiment and dogma to block their sense of reason. I waded through a lot of posts with zero arguments in them, one from frosbel even talked about "haters". . . .And we thought Boko Haram was the worst the country could see? No wonder there are "child witches" in Nigeria in this modern day and age. Yes, people are totally blinded and no better than the likes of David Koresh, Doukhobor anarchists and Uganda's Lords Army. People, please put away sentiment and argue your point. If you have zero to say, pleeeeeeeaaaaaase pass by! ![]() |
babapupa:As if your home town no be swamp too. What a bloody arse licker! |
dayokanu:The above is classical Nigerian. Is there any suprise we are so underdeveloped? That attitude to the value of life does not carry in the international community. Every life is precious, in more civilised countries, there would not have been a single shot fired; in fact there would have been no foolish gungho interception on the high sea's. That action is now costing Israel very dearly (and about time too). I posted a Haaretz article published a few days before the storming of the civilian aid boats. You should check it out; Gaza flotilla drives Israel into a sea of stupidity |
This article was a word of warning by one of the most influencial Israeli press groups before the flotilla was intercepted. Reading it now that the saga has unfolded, they sound like prophets. |
Gaza flotilla drives Israel into a sea of stupidity Published 02:37 30.05.10 Latest update 02:37 30.05.10 Of course the peace flotilla will not bring peace, and it won't even manage to reach the Gaza shore. The action plan has included dragging the ships to Ashdod port, but it has again dragged us to the shores of stupidity and wrongdoing By Gideon Levy The Israeli propaganda machine has reached new highs its hopeless frenzy. It has distributed menus from Gaza restaurants, along with false information. It embarrassed itself by entering a futile public relations battle, which it might have been better off never starting. They want to maintain the ineffective, illegal and unethical siege on Gaza and not let the "peace flotilla" dock off the Gaza coast? There is nothing to explain, certainly not to a world that will never buy the web of explanations, lies and tactics. Only in Israel do people still accept these tainted goods. Reminiscent of a pre-battle ritual from ancient times, the chorus cheered without asking questions. White uniformed soldiers got ready in our name. Spokesmen delivered their deceptive explanations in our name. The grotesque scene is at our expense. And virtually none of us have disturbed the performance. The chorus has been singing songs of falsehood and lies. We are all in the chorus saying there is no humanitarian crisis in Gaza. We are all part of the chorus claiming the occupation of Gaza has ended, and that the flotilla is a violent attack on Israeli sovereignty - the cement is for building bunkers and the convoy is being funded by the Turkish Muslim Brotherhood. The Israeli siege of Gaza will topple Hamas and free Gilad Shalit. Foreign Ministry spokesman Yossi Levy, one of the most ridiculous of the propagandists, outdid himself when he unblinkingly proclaimed that the aid convoy headed toward Gaza was a violation of international law. Right. Exactly. It's not the siege that is illegal, but rather the flotilla. It wasn't enough to distribute menus from Gaza restaurants through the Prime Minister's Office, (including the highly recommended beef Stroganoff and cream of spinach soup ) and flaunt the quantities of fuel that the Israeli army spokesman says Israel is shipping in. The propaganda operation has tried to sell us and the world the idea that the occupation of Gaza is over, but in any case, Israel has legal authority to bar humanitarian aid. All one pack of lies. Only one voice spoiled the illusory celebration a little: an Amnesty International report on the situation in Gaza. Four out of five Gaza residents need humanitarian assistance. Hundreds are waiting to the point of embarrassment to be allowed out for medical treatment, and 28 already have died. This is despite all the Israeli army spokesman's briefings on the absence of a siege and the presence of assistance, but who cares? And the preparations for the operation are also reminiscent of a particularly amusing farce: the feverish debate among the septet of ministers; the deployment of the Masada unit, the prison service's commando unit that specializes in penetrating prison cells; naval commando fighters with backup from the special police anti-terror unit and the army's Oketz canine unit; a special detention facility set up at the Ashdod port; and the electronic shield that was supposed to block broadcast of the ship's capture and the detention of those on board. And all of this in the face of what? A few hundred international activists, mostly people of conscience whose reputation Israeli propaganda has sought to besmirch. They are really mostly people who care, which is their right and obligation, even if the siege doesn't concern us at all. Yes, this flotilla is indeed a political provocation, and what is protest action if not political provocation? And facing them on the seas has been the Israeli ship of fools, floating but not knowing where or why. Why detain people? That's how it is. Why a siege? That's how it is. It's like the Noam Chomsky affair all over again, but big time this time. Of course the peace flotilla will not bring peace, and it won't even manage to reach the Gaza shore. The action plan has included dragging the ships to Ashdod port, but it has again dragged us to the shores of stupidity and wrongdoing. Again we will be portrayed not only as the ones that have blocked assistance, but also as fools who do everything to even further undermine our own standing. If that was one of the goals of the peace flotilla's organizers, they won big yesterday. Five years ago, the noted Peruvian writer Mario Vargas Llosa, who is a Jerusalem Prize laureate, after concluding his visit to Israel, said the Israeli occupation was approaching its grotesque phase. Over the weekend Vargas Llosa, who considers himself a friend of Israel, was present to see that that phase has since reached new heights of absurdity. http://www.haaretz.com/print-edition/opinion/gaza-flotilla-drives-israel-into-a-sea-of-stupidity-1.292959 |
Finkelstein: 'Israel is a lunatic state' By Tar De Moutonnoir. American political scientist Norman Finkelstein has reacted to the deadly attack on the Free Gaza flotilla by warning that the Israeli regime has become a serious threat to its neighbors. The author of 'The Holocaust Industry' and 'Beyond Chutzpah' made the comments today during an interview with the Russian English-language news channel RT (Russia Today). Commenting on the American reaction to yesterday's Israeli commando raid on the Free Gaza flotilla, Finkelstein replied "so far there has been a pretty mild statement by President Obama". The carefully worded announcementmade by the White House expressed "deep regret [, ] at the loss of life and injuries sustained [, ]" but refrained from any direct Israeli criticism, saying it was "[, ] working to understand the circumstances surrounding this tragedy". He went on to dismiss the notion that the Israeli attack was an attempt to "protect Israeli citizens against those who would seek to discredit the state of Israel" by pointing to the illegality of the Israeli blockade on Gaza. Finkelstein mentioned recent condemnation by reputed human rights group Amnesty International, which called the Israeli blockade on Gaza "a flagrant violation of international law" and the United Nations' Global Elders , a group comprising notable public figures including Nelson Mandela, Desmund Tutu, Kofi Annan and Jimmy Carter, which issued a statement calling the Israeli blockade on Gaza "one of the wost human rights violation in the world today" as important examples of this fact. Finkelstein went on to point to Israel's use of armed commandos to assault a humanitarian aid mission in international waters, which he said could not be justified: I think everyone can agree that there's no possibility, that there's no way to justify using armed force against what were clearly unarmed humanitarians trying to relieve an illegal siege of Gaza. Referring to comments attributed to Israeli officials made in the aftermath of last year's invasion of Gaza, Finkelstein said the Israeli military had sought to reestablish its military dominance over the Arab world by demonstrating that they were "capable of acting like a lunatic state and like mad dogs [, ] [in order to] restore the Arab world's fear of Israel". After yesterday's events, you really have to ask the question: is Israel acting like a lunatic state or has it become a lunatic state? Finkelstein asserts that Israel has indeed become a "lunatic state", one armed with nuclear weapons and regularly threatening its neighbors: Things are getting out of control, [, ] can a lunatic state like Israel be trusted with 200 to 300 nuclear devices when it is now threatening its neighbors Iran and Lebanon with an attack? Finkelstein's condemnation is part of a global chorus that has emerged in response to the Israeli attack which left dozens of peace activists dead or injured. The pro-Palestinian flotilla was attempting to break the Israeli blockade of Gaza and deliver humanitarian aide to the besieged Palestinian territory. The events have sparked outrage with ally Turkey who helped sponsor the mission. Earlier today, it convened an emergency United Nations Security council session to discuss the attack. Israeli officials have defended the raid, saying its commandos were attacked by passengers upon arrival. A YouTube video released by Israel's IDF shows footage of soldiers being attacked with knives and chairs. The Free Gaza movement has dismissed this version of events, saying the commandos rappelled unto the boat with weapons in hand shooting indiscriminately. http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/292775 |
So what? What an arse licker! |
Aside from pledging to free every last one of the hostages, Israel has now also pledged to let every last fibre of the aid on the boats through to Gaza . . . So what silly point were they trying to make with the storming of civilian volunteer aid ships in international waters? Israel has been backing down in the face of international fury all day today, why understand only violence like an ill brought up thug? The Arab countries that attacked them in the past have long since been beaten, now they are blockading less than half a million Palestinians with their full military might. What a shame! What a disgrace! |
Kgdavid:Another clever person that doesn't read. Why do you think the UN Secretary General has been criticising Israel quite strongly sinse yesterday? Because you know national security more than him? Ban Ki Moon: Further criticism of Israel came from UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on Tuesday.http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/10208027.stm What you need to investigate is if the blockade of Gaza is legal. You can never achieve legality by walking barely legal paths. Israel is now accused of commiting piracy as well as a bus load of other illegalities. |
davidylan:You noticed that and still took so much time to reply? Strange! ![]() |
dayokanu:If you go down this thread, you will see videos that show how Western activists press their cases. I can repost if you want. There were examples of activists ramming Japanese "research" boats, so far, they have sunk 10. . . But there have never been any Japanese commando's (or the mere thought) in sight. . . .And is chanting anti-Israeli or anti-Nigerian or anti_American songs now a crime? They can chant anything they want, are they sinning against God by doing that? Or do we now shoot people for singing in our brave new World? |
davidylan:Really? Wise people call themselves fools before they do it to others. You come across as a hot head who will readily employ violence in "defence" of your "religion". Just like Boko Haram. All the people you have called fools are those that have torn your arguments apart. Like everyone else, even you too would have noticed it. davidylan:And who stopped you using them? anyway, we are not talking about Iraq. Why do you have this bad habit of straying from topic; only to deny the fact later or accuse someone of accusing you? You frighten me. The quesyion is; what do you think of Ban Ki Moon? No dodging. davidylan:You mean that your fear is that you aren't smart enough and are afraid of being found out? Don't worry about it Charlie, there are some things you can't hide. |
Breaking news; Israel is releasing all the detainee's within 48 hours. All the foolish shakara of trying the so called "violent" activists has been dropped. The 5 German parliamentarians in the flotilla have blamed Israel 100%. They say the Israeli's came down shooting from the helicopters. . . Em, these are members of the German govt. Wahala!! |
davidylan:Hmmmm. . . Only for you to turn round and call him a fool? You've done that over and over to different people who haven't retorted. Don't you think the problem might lie with you instead? A foul mouthed Christian is no better than an Al-Qaeda member. ![]() By the what, what do you think of Ban Ki Moon who has repeatedly criticised Israel? You didn't answer on the other thread, choosing to escape through foul mouthed route as usual. Please address the questions put to you instead of blowing up. |
^ I gotta give it to you. The logic of the manufactured history was like a mystery from okija or jankara. Entertaining though!!!! |
davidylan:Aha! I didn't realise you got all that shi't about Palestinians morphing into Jews and Jews being renamed to Palestians from video games! I was gonna ask what you were smoking, cos it must be some really damn good shi't. . . Red Bull gives you wings!!! ![]() Poor Palestinians and Israelis, they have to put up with all sorts of religious bigots that have their reasoning faculties stunted by fanatism. There was David Koresh, like there was Muhammadu Marwa Maitatsine. . . Different religions, but both mad men. davidylan: The land Israel is located on has names such as bethlehem, nazareth, jerusalem . . . i'm sure those names just appeared by magic in 1948.True, this is what you're beginning to make me think. ![]() |
davidylan:Obvious Hamas members and Iranian nasties! |
davidylan:But a cracker does? Someone who thinks Palestinians used to be Jews, then Jews were renamed by Hadrian and became Palestinians until 1949 when the Palestinian Post became the Jerusalem Post? Crazy! Hell! ![]() Listen to the UN Secretary General, I guess to you, he is one of those "bleating"; Further criticism of Israel came from UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on Tuesday.http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/10208027.stm |
daviddylan: to start with, here is an excerpt from an article from wapedia - Under the rule of the Ottoman Empire in the mid-16th century, there were no more than 10,000 Jews in all of Palestine. [1] Prior to the Empire's dismemberment, the population of the area comprising modern Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza Strip was not exclusively Muslim. About 20% of the Arabic-speaking population was Christian, and about 11% Jewish. [2] [page needed][verification needed] After the modern State of Israel was born, all but a few native Palestinian Jews became citizens of Israel, and the term "Palestinian Jews" largely fell into disuse. The preferred term today in Israel is the abovementioned "Old Yishuv" (in Hebrew היישוב הישן, HaYishuv HaYashan or "The Old Settlement""Jews in Palestine". . . Interesting statement that proves that Jews are different from the land called Palestine. Saying there are 20,000 Yoruba's in Warri does not make Yoruba people either Urhobo, Ijaw or Itsekiri does it? I hope thats easy to understand? Na wa! ![]() davidylan: The British were unable to achieve their goal of enlisting an equal number of Jews and Arabs into the Palestine Regiment. There was one Arab volunteer to each three Jews. As a result, on August 6, 1942, three Palestinian Jewish battalions and one Palestinian Arab battalion formed the Palestine Regiment. At this time, the Regiment was principally involved in guard duties in Egypt and North Africa. The British also wanted it to undermine efforts of Hajj Amin al-Husayni, who was struggling to obtain Arab support for the Axis Powers against the AlliesSo how come you said the Gazans used to be Jews? Damn! Being foul mouthed only shows how confused and scrambled you are. I will put you out of your misery, the land Israel is located on has always been called Palestine, however the Jews have never ever ever been called Palestinians except by their overlords and captors (and history manufacturers too ). Show me a Jew that calls themself Palestinian and I'll sell you the gates of heaven. |
SEFAGO:. . .Therefore, you will move CBN to Aso Rock and some oil blocks to Ijebu? Am getting worried by what really mean by 10 milla. |
davidylan:Oh yes, you do! ![]() I quoted from the Guardian to butress the fact that "Internationally renowned names were on board, among them activists, authors, film-makers, politicians and journalists from Europe, the Middle East, the US and Canada," but rather than address the facts, you told me the Guardian was a "biased source for Arab-Israeli conflicts", used by Hamas. . . Hellooooooo! Now you have tripped over your own tongue, you suddenly don't remember mentioning any of the above? Veryyyyyyyy strange! Spare me and stop being funny, aren't these your words? davidylan: Its funny that you cite a paper where the likes of Khaled Meshaal have published articles. What next? An article by OBL to tell us why Afghanistan shld not be attacked for harbouring alqaeda?Do you remember saying this about the same link? davidylan: Its funny that you cite a paper where the likes of Khaled Meshaal have published articles. What next? An article by OBL to tell us why Afghanistan shld not be attacked for harbouring alqaeda |
I would like to say that the incommodus garrulitas that occurred between Sam and I has nothing to do with this, as the said person is a decision feather-weight at the forum.Meaningless. . . Anyways, I too wish you gorilla gorillatatum. ![]() |
davidylan:So why did we never hear the nazi's talking about Palestinians or wasn't that before 1948? Why did we never hear about Polish Palestinians during WWII or wasn't that before 1948? To make you case iredeemable, your Emporor Hadrian reigned from AD 117 to 138, long before the New Testament was completed. So why, o why don't we have the "renamed" Jews ever refering to themselves as Palestinians in the Bible. Summary of your argument; Palestinians in Gaza used to be Jews, then one day Hadrian did some renaming and the real Jews became Palestinians. Damn! I bet that confuses even you. |
kaecy5:Please don't drag me into any religious BS. Respect yourself please. |
davidylan:. . .In your opinion only. Does it change the fact that the people on board were well educated and adjusted European leaders of thought as the Guardian reported? Whats your point? Are the Nobel Laureates, film makers, novelists etc that were on board the new Al-Qaeda to you? I am struggling to understand the point you are trying to make. Why the mention of Afghanistan? |
davidylan:No, no, no! You actually said the Palestinians were Jews. Now you are arguing that it was the Jews who were Palestinians. Things cannot be more opposite. The Palestinians are the Phillistines and remain so till today; the name Palestine is derived from Philistines. Jews have never called themselves Palestinians and they never ever will; Philistines and Jews have always been enemies. Calm down on the "facts". |
davidylan: Ok, lets assume the Guardian is as biased as the devil is against good; would that change demographics of those on the flotilla? There was also an ex US ambassador on board one of the boats, so I've now to go and check that all the sourse citing the fact are not what you call "unbiased sources for Arab-Israeli conflicts"? So all the people mentioned by the Guardian were Arabs? Or how have you come to imply that a multi-national aid flotilla is part of an Arab side in an "Arab-Israeli conflict"? If you backtrack from calling them Arabs, pray tell us; where are they from and is your classification of their efforts just and reasonable? |
davidylan:Right! But I thought according to you, the Palestinians were Jews. Damn! So now, it is that the Jews are really Palestinian as dictated by Emperor Hadrian! Crazy! Wow! . . .Its baffling how these self contradictions crop up! |
frosbel:What is gibberish about it? Did I choose the childish, emotionally immature and irresponsible title for this thread. You did. Did I write this fanatical nonsense below? You did. frosbel: It is clear to anyone with eyes in their head that the battle taking place off the Gaza shore is in fact a clash between an Islamist coalition which Turkey attempts to head – and which includes Iran, Hamas, and Hezbollah on one hand – and forces with a liberal Western orientation, represented by Israel, on the other hand.Listen to a balanced and more informed source than your Boko Haramic outbursts; Internationally renowned names were on board, among them activists, authors, film-makers, politicians and journalists from Europe, the Middle East, the US and Canada.http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/may/31/gaza-freedom-flotilla-activists-passengers-israel The folk the Guardian refers too are obviously Hamas Nobel Laureates, writers and film makers. Daft! |
