chidyke77:Do you really know the meaning of South South? The above statement is 100% false. |
^ I am not a Jonathan supporter, so rewind. None of the above makes sense to either my position or arguments. |
Jakumo:These men got out the heaviest armour they could find and laid seige to the whole Abuja. Yar Adua came in at 2 AM, but they were still on the streets at 11 AM, 9 hours later! None of the service chiefs was aware except for Danbazau (they all awoke to a shock), neither did the the head of the Brigade of Guards report his troop deployment to his bosses. There were troop movements, not only within Abuja, but out of Kaduna as well. Turai had been sending out mails to the effect of siezing power on her arrival. Shortly after, the US issued an unusually strongly worded statement about elements bringing an incapacitated Yar Adua home to destabilise the country. It is possible that some of the service chiefs were aware of the wider plot, but were taken by surprise with the unscheduled arrival of Yar Adua (due to US pressure on Saudi), Yar Adua had been expected 6 days later. |
slap1:No vex abeg. My 100% apology. |
David Mark is one of the biggest criminals Nigeria has ever seen (he is no better than Bankole, even worse). He is only behaving because of intense US actions. The Whole World has viewed the problems in Nigeria and believe they have found a nugget in Jonathan; they believe he has the incredible qualities required to turn Nigeria round. I can bet that, he will either pull Obama on a state visit or there will be repeated visits from World leaders of the calibre we've witnessed so early in his regime; he will put us back on the World stage, especially if he accomplishes free and fair elections. |
KnowAll:He is in coma. The equipment should be moved into an appointed hospital in Abuja, state house is the seat of power not a recuperation centre. Eject Turai and her crew! |
MEND must be assimilated into the nigerian army as a specialist force that is suited to a swamp environment and securing of our oil installations. Training will be provided by the US and overseen by the UN. True federalism must be instituted, so that;
[li]the SE controls its coal and oil[/li] [li]the SS controls its vast oil and other resources[/li] [li]the SW controls its vast gold resources[/li] [li]the Middle belt controls its numerous minerals[/li] [li]the core North is free to practise sharia[/li]
Federal character and the quota system must be introduced into the rank and file of the military. It should not be limited to education, civil service, the CBN, NNPC and other lucrative areas. |
Turai will end up in jail or exile. |
Gbawe:When the dust settles, Turai is likely to see jail or exile. |
^ They are id!ots like Turai's advisers. |
^ What happened was a failed coup. It collapsed under US pressure. Nobody can try anything or they will be roasted. The Nigerian public is not ready for such backward bullsh!t anymore. |
^ Spectators will always remain spectators. Thank goodness Ohaneze thinks differently; they are the true Igbo voice. |
Turai planned a coup. . . It failed woefully. These id!ots have to bear it in mind that their cranky army will be defeated in only a few days by the US, if they remain stup!dly adventurous. Change has come to stay. Turai's coup attempt was carried out a few days after a very powerfull US delegation (including and ex-president) graced our shores. It show's how dimwitted she and her cabal are; they want to Bleep with a superpower. The job of the US in enabling stability in Nigeria is not yet over. Their help is required to tame our army and make it more representative of our populace; this is of exceptional importance considering the war against terror and recent developments in Northern Nigeria. Indeed an Africom intelligence expert predicted that Northern Nigeria could be the next Pakistan http://onafrica.maneno.org/eng/articles/zix1265727758/. |
I just saw this on TV as well. What is that country becoming? ![]() |
Ohaneze in conjunction with the South South, have spoken this week about the dissolution of the country. Let us pray that Gbonigi's call is heard loud and clear by the Yoruba people and that tendency toughens in the face of current events. Middle Belt, over to you. |
Behind U.S. prompt statement on Yar'Adua's return From Laolu Akande (New York) and Ifedayo Sayo, Ado-Ekiti THE statement from the presidency on Wednesday that Acting President, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan will continue to oversee state affairs while President Umaru Yar'Adua "recuperates" may have been compelled after what diplomats described as a prompt and decisive statement by the U.S. government over the sudden return of the ailing Nigerian leader in the wee hours of same day. Informed sources say the U.S. government is convinced about the inability of Yar'Adua to govern and is deeply worried that his return soon after the National Assembly empowered Vice President Jonathan as Acting President represented a seeming attempt to destabilize the solution to what was a power vacuum problem in the last three months. Sources revealed emails from the First Lady, Hagiya Turai Yar'Adua, sent out few days ago where she clearly hinted that Nigerians would be taken by surprise when Yar'Adua returned soon. According to the email dated February 18, 2010 (last week Thursday) Turai stated in Hausa language "yau inaso in sanar maka Insha Allah zamu dawo nigeria acikin Gona Goma Masu zuwa. kuma Idan anyi duniya don manzon Allah zamu bawa Mutanen Nigeria mamaki. This translates into English: "Today, I want to inform you that by God's grace, we shall return to Nigeria in the next 10 days. And if indeed God created the earth for his servants sake, we shall surprise the people of Nigeria." Indeed Nigerians and much of the international community, except the Saudis were taken by surprise as the First Lady predicted. But many abroad, in western capitals have adopted a wait and see attitude as news that Nigeria's ailing president were confirmed early Wednesday. However, the Americans who had been active in speaking out against the power vacuum could not remain mute, especially because the US had just completed an important congressional hearing on Nigeria the same day President Yar'Adua suddenly left Saudi Arabia. Only on Tuesday afternoon, US Senators in a Foreign Affairs Subcommittee hearing on Nigeria engaged the US Assistant Secretary of State Ambassador Johnnie Carson on the fate of the country soon after the assumption of presidential powers by Goodluck Jonathan. US Senators from both Democratic and Republican parties on Tuesday on the one hand and the US Assistant Secretary of State for Africa both expressed satisfaction that Nigeria seemed to have resolved the power vacuum occasioned by the president's illness. Former Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Chairman Nuhu Ribadu also spoke passionately at the hearing, expressing hope that Acting President Jonathan's assumption provided a possible new beginning. But just as the public hearing rounded up before noon on Tuesday, news that President Yar' Adua was returning home started unsettling all of the conclusions and views expressed at the hearing, leading to an early Wednesday morning statement by Ambassador Carson, the Assistant Secretary of State. It is believed that the American government decided to make a frank and prompt reaction that would imply and reflect a position that the US government would consider any attempt for the ailing President to block the Acting President from continuing to act as a attempt to destabilize the country. Sources said it was after the US released that statement urgently through its Embassy in Abuja that the presidency quickly announced that the ailing President has no intention of resuming work for now until he fully recovers. Meanwhile, former Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Ayodele Fayose and one time presidential aspirant, Chief Reuben Famuyibo have advised the aides of President Musa Yar'Adua to let their boss convince Nigerians that he is indeed in the country. The two warned against acts that could threaten the stability and peace of the nation in the handling of the President's ill health. Speaking yesterday on the return of Yar'Adua to the country on Wednesday morning, Fayose said he does not believe that the President is back and that the kitchen cabinet were only taking the nation for a ride. He said it was unthinkable that a clique would be playing with the destiny of millions of Nigeria. He pointed out that the President should be made to broadcast to Nigerians to convince the nation of his presence. The former governor said that the kitchen cabinet should stop fooling the whole nation and ask the president to talk to Nigerians. He insisted that since Yar'Adua found it convenient to speak on BBC Hausa service from his sick bed in Saudi Arabia, he should also talk to the people now that he is in the country. He said the Acting President Goodluck Jonathan should refuse to be distracted by the purported return of the ailing President as the noise about the return of the President was to cause confusion in the polity. Fayose described his former party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the greatest problem of the country stressing that a party that cannot transit power from the President to his deputy cannot successfully lead the nation. He said from the crisis created by the absence of the President without transmitting power to Acting President made a mockery of thre Constitution. Famuyibo flayed the return of ailing President Yar'Adua to the country saying the return of in the middle of the night showed that a lot is wrong with the presidency. He said it is obvious that the president is not medically fit to continue in office and that what is normal is for him to attend to his health and allow the country to move on. Famuyibo said that he was convinced that a certain cabal was using the ill-health of the President to hold the country to ransom. He warned that a few privileged Nigerians who are benefiting from the Yar'Adua presidency could not take Nigerians for a ride. He therefore demanded that Nigerians must be told the whole truth about the health condition of their president. He advised the President's aides to allow their boss to step out and physically to convince Nigerians of the arrival in the country. Assessing the representatives of the state in the National Assembly, the former presidential aspirant said the state has not benefited from their representation. He said that the issue of the epileptic power supply ought to have been a thing of the past if the National Assembly members acted rightly. http://www.ngrguardiannews.com/policy_politics/article01/indexn2_html?pdate=260210&ptitle=Behind%20U.S.%20prompt%20statement%20on%20Yar%27Adua%27s%20return |
ndu don't worry na ![]() Jonathan is the leader of Nigeria. The core North does not recognise that because they control the army. . . Wrong move; the movement of the army in Abuja was politically stup!d, thats what you should be addressing. That "mighty army" too can be checkmated with the application of intelligence. Seriously, don't worry about South South capabilities and leadership; your picture is so muddled. |
You are not known to run away from answering questions. Why become a weakling now? Please tell us who your leaders are - this is a very simple question. The Igbos had the great Ojukwu and other great leaders, who do you have, please name names.
You are dying for answers, ehn? Don't worry, they will come in due time. |
Please educate me, who are your leaders if not the thieving governors and the oil bunkering millitants? The political stupidity of your leaders including Asari, is beyond belief. The ND have the best chance in the history of Nigeria to have their needs met by Jonathan, but instead of supporting the man, your leaders were disowning him, skimming to prevent him from becoming acting President, and issuing senseless and ill timed statements. These leaders of yours are obviously not in the loop, they were not properly briefed. This shows that you people are novices in the political arena. Your leaders do not want peace because it is not in their own interest (money from oil bunkering/kidnapping). You all should be rallying arround Jonathan instead of making these unnecessary pronouncements. It will take less than a few weeks to bring you people to order if you dare announce a seccession - unfortunately, the likes of you will escape because you are already hiding in South Africa or Europe.
Like I said, don't worry. Time for too much talk is rapidly passing. |
^ We don't need anybodys help to breakaway and the PDP people you mentioned are not our leaders, they will tow the line or get left behind. If other regions want to remain mired in their current settings, who are we to convince them otherwise? We know what we want. |
You people are preparing to leave the country, ko? Are you all moving to the Atlantic ocean to form colonies on floating vessels? You have apparently learnt nothing from the biafran experience. You are ill equipped to orchestrate a secession, your leaders are thieves and criminals, there is no great leader of conviction like Ojukwu in your midst, and you have no regional support. You people are dellusional and politically unsophisticated.
You don't know our leaders, stop confusing yourself. There is nothing about Biafra here. The landscape is totally different, don't worry. |
South South are preparing to leave the country. Make una deh call Dokuboh iliterate, I laugh in South South languages. ![]() Let us see how the Hausa / Fulani cabal and their "Northern interest" will survive. I laugh at the cabal parasites; they will be left with a decaying army that cannot sustain battle for more than a month without oil money; it is so funny! |
The South South is the engine of ALL Nigeria's income. Those Northern cabal id!ots have been committing political suicide, he who pays the piper calls the tune. Nobody can accuse the South South of rushing to action without patience; we have been very cautious and deliberate, almost to a fault; all the while weapons purchased with monies generated in our homelands have been used in genocidal ways against us. They forget that they cannot fight an all out war for a month without our sustenance. We have learnt from our post independence errors and if push comes to shove, will play several jokers. The names mentioned in the article are the names of our true leaders, this anger is coming from the very highest quarters and we don't make empty threats. |
Fashola has done well for Lagos, but you know what they say about birds of a feather. . . No decent person would rent (or be seen with) ultra low quality hoodlums like babapupa, talkless of them having him as a spokesperson in a public space like NL. When things don't smell right, something rotten is bound to be around. |
@bEAF i dont this news is accurate from what i can gather from other news sources,it was jonathan that refused to go see turai and insisted that turai come see him u have to be careful when quoting some newspapers as they are also part of the planted news by the cabal to further their agenda i believe the sun is owned by orji kalu, who is somewhat cool with the yar aduas
I wondered the same too, because ndu_chucks posted something which seems to directly contradict this article. You could be right. |
The id!ot will be one of the first to be sacked or relegated to serving coffee, their action is crumbling. |
Senators angry with Yar’Adua over reference to Jonathan as Vice President From Francis Awowole-Browne, Abuja Friday, February 26, 2010 The reference to Dr Goodluck Jonathan as Vice President by returnee President Umaru Yar’Adua has aroused anger in senators. Their anger was heightened by the refusal of the President to officially write the National Assembly on his return from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia two days after his arrival. For this reason, the Senate also did not discuss the return of the president during its sitting yesterday Members of the Upper Chamber who were taken aback by the sudden arrival of the ailing President were said to have been miffed by the reference to Jonathan as Vice President in a statement the president’s spokesman, Olusegun Adeniyi issued on Wednesday. Part of the statement read thus: ‘President Yar’Adua is grateful to the Vice President, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan for completely overseeing the affairs of the state in his absence….However while the President completes his recuperation Vice President Jonathan will continue to oversee the affairs of the state.” Daily Sun gathered that the Senators saw the reference to Dr. Jonathan as the Vice-President as undermining the authority of the state, which pronounced him the Acting President some weeks ago due to the prolonged absence of the President. “What the President did was to ignore the Senate and disregard its resolution empowering the Vice President as the Acting President with the constant reference to the Acting President as the Vice President,” one of the Senators had argued. Many of the Senators reportedly protested to the Senate President shortly before the plenary session commenced yesterday and wanted the matter discussed during plenary. However, it was gathered that the Senate President, David Mark had a hectic time prevailing on the Senators not to raise the issues, but wait and see the unfolding events. “That is the reason it was not raised as a point of order yesterday,” another Senator told Daily Sun. Meanwhile, President Yar’Adua again shunned the Senate for the second day with his refusal to send a letter to the National Assembly officially informing the legislature of his return. The Senators, sources revealed, had thought the President would by yesterday send a communication to the National Assembly but were shocked to find that nothing was sent. “It was at this point that we now know that his position was deliberate and not an oversight. It means President Yar’Adua did not recognize that resolution. But there is no cause for alarm. We are waiting. This unfolding drama will certainly end at a scene. All I know is that our resolution subsists until otherwise changed by the Senate. “We have done our own bit and if that is the way the executive wants to go about it, it’s okay,” a Senator maintained. Interestingly, while the drama at home continues to unfold, the Senators were busy debating the coup de tat in Niger Republic and the need for Nigeria to take a step to help the country return to democracy. http://www.sunnewsonline.com/webpages/news/national/2010/feb/26/national-26-02-2010-02.htm |

Turai snubs Jonathan•Meeting with Åg. President fails to hold From LUCKY NWANKWERE, Abuja Friday, February 26, 2010 The much-awaited meeting on Wednesday night between Acting President Goodluck Jonathan and First Lady, Hajia Turai Yar’Adua at which he (Jonathan) had expected to be fully briefed about the President’s health condition did not hold. The meeting was at the instance of the President’s aides, who, after announcing to the Acting President the return of their boss, requested him to meet the First Lady for a full briefing on the health of the President and other necessary information bordering on governance. Jonathan had personally told the ministers on Wednesday of the planned meeting with the First Lady when he had expressed the hope he would be briefed on the state of the President’s health since he had not seen him. Minister of Information and Communications, Prof. Dora Akunyili, disclosed this when she briefed State House Correspondents on the outcome of the ministers’ scheduled meeting with Jonathan on Wednesday. “He invited us for a meeting in his meeting room at 2 p.m. and when we came, he told us that the President had returned. He had been briefed by the aides of Mr. President and that he hoped to see the wife of the President this evening and that when we meet next week, we will be briefed on the outcome of the Saudi trip by the members of council. And that when he is eventually briefed by our President, he will call us again,” she stated. But Daily Sun gathered that the First Lady was unavailable for the meeting, forcing the Acting President to call it off. When Jonathan’s aides went to find out if she was ready for the meeting so their boss could come down, they were told the First Lady had gone upstairs and might not come down for the rest of the day. “Around 7.00 p.m. yesterday (Wednesday), when the team went to the President’s residence, the First Lady was not ready to come down for any meeting, so Jonathan’s aides went back to their boss to report the situation. It was then that the meeting was put off,” a highly dependable source told Daily Sun. Unable to meet the First Lady, Acting President Jonathan remains in the dark as to the actual condition of the President since it has also not been possible for him or anyone else to see the President since his arrival Wednesday morning. Even if he can still not be allowed to see the president, the understanding among top government functionaries was that the meeting between the wife of the president and the Acting President would have addressed the present confusion in the seat of power and guided the next line of action. “As it is, you can see that we have not made any progress on the leadership crisis, which we thought had been resolved. But I know that the authorities are working out something, and I am optimistic the matter will be settled very soon. There is no cause for alarm, our source further pointed out. http://www.sunnewsonline.com/webpages/news/national/2010/feb/26/national-26-02-2010-01.htm |
