oluagness:Unfortunately, I will find it difficult to offer help outside NL because of a very tight schedule. But feel free to post any issues you have here and I am sure you will get a response from myself or some other person. |
No2Atheism:Even if all of the above is true, who are those that fall victim? Would it be properly governed countries or the sort whose president has been missing for 53 days? I posted a link here about Africom which contained the deliberate massacre in the Niger Delta of innocent people at a festival by helicopter gunship. I will remind you that those folk were your fellow Nigerians mowed down by their own military. These things don't bother you, but you concern yourself with crap conspiracy theories about the Middle East. My friend, charity begins at home, you need to set your home in order before venturing into international affairs. Failure to do so at best, it displays a warped way of thinking that will always be soundly defeated by your so called "enemies". If Nigeria is presented to the World in fools garb, we will be treated like fools. Period. |
onwan: Now ya'll see what Ive been trying to say about the US and their scheme to get into Nigeria. Its been a setup from day 1.You are declaring that you actually support terrorism? No wonder you sound like a terrorist. That is why you are scared shitless of the US. Stop making weird and foolish defences of the d'ickless terrorist, Mutallab. It is the same Northern cabals that have wanted to play Africom against their fellow Nigerians, but as they say, "God fends the flies of the tailless cow". Africom is now more interested in Boko Haram's and Kala Kato's like you. I am not for US marshals being on Nigerian flights, but if you present yourself as a fool to your neighbours, they will treat you as a fool. I hope the country splits, so we don't have to deal with people who think that what occurs in the Middle East is Nigeria's problem. It isn't. Northern cabals are the cause of all Nigeria's problems, why don't you blame them for presenting a daft image of Nigeria to the World, instead of blaming the US for dealing with the daft image it was presented with? |
sjeezy8:You always abuse the ND because your people are now finding it very hard to steal oil and oppress minorities. Thieves. ![]() |
Good move from Falana. |
Yar‘Adua: Chief Judge steps down from hearing Falana‘s suit By Agency Reporter, Published: Thursday, 14 Jan 2010 Barely forty eight hours after the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice Daniel Abutu gave a judgment ordering Vice President Goodluck Jonathan to start performing the duties of a president, the same judge was forced to step down from hearing a similar suit filed by Lagos lawyer, Mr. Femi Falana. On Thursday at the resumed hearing in cases similar to the one he had already given judgment, Justice Abutu agreed to step down following a request by Falana. The Lagos lawyer referred Justice Abutu to the judgment he delivered on Wednesday 13th January wherein he ordered the Vice President to perform the duties of president in the absence of the president and without the president writing a letter to the National Assembly to inform the lawmakers of his absence. Falana said that the Judge had delved into the issues raised in his own case and had already taken a position which would affect his decision if he were to go ahead and hear his (Falana) case. http://www.punchng.com/Articl.aspx?theartic=Art2010011417534521 |

Allta:Is it not the same North that organises military coups? The way to resolve this once and for all is for the country to split. |

Religous id'iots and demons like Pat Robertson will always say wicked things to line their thieving pockets. The beast is looking to make converts in Haiti and reap from the sweat of poverty stricken souls. Devils like him prey on the weak and needy, all "in the name of Jesus". We have his type in Nigeria too, anyone know "Evangelist" Helen Ukpabio and the child witch saga? God damn the souls of the Pat Robertson's and Helen Ukpabio's of this World. |
craziest:I gather you have never seen the video below. ![]() You could almost say that apple is a branch of MS; they just keep you religous folk yapping to move products of the shelf. Enjoy! The crowd was not too happy about it. |
BAC:Tell them jare! People continue promoting the dying language that is java. Outside the developing World Java is comatose and will be buried in a few years time. The developing World cannot afford high quality IT, so open source is the mantra. The moment you cross the sea, forget Java; everybody wants to be productive and running. If there's anybody out there thats ready to die for open source, I advice them to pick up Ruby. Ruby (especially) and C# are the final nail in Java's coffin. |
Meldrick:Forget about what they said in public and read those links I posted, especially the one from stratfor. read about Nigeria on global intelligence and security sites and your jaw will drop for what our people can do to line their pockets. Yar Adua signed us away. Right now, as we are talking Africom is patrolling our waters, "protecting" our deep sea oil installations. The plan was to bring them on land into the Niger Delta to man robotic equipment alongside the Israeli's, Africom is already likely on the ground in Nigeria. Yar Adua and his goons preffered to sign us away than solve the ND issue's (that is aside the $3 billion spent arming JTF). |
The Ijaw history is 100%. They were the very first people in Southern Nigeria, every other group met them, so tpia saying the Ijaws were Bini's is characteristically stup!d. Having been the first to inhabit the land now called Benin, is totally different from being Bini. In fact, saying the Ijaw were once Bini is as ridiculous as saying a great grandson is the parent of his great grandfather. ![]() |
. . .Yet, they were so quick to process Aondoakaa's case in one day, all the way to judgement. |
otawa:Funny, but your govt has been arranging to bring in both Africom and the Isreali's. The US is not the one pressing to introduce Africom, Yar Adua was practically begging both Africom and the Isreali's to come into the country were they would have been used against innocent folk. This is open news (but we 9ja's hate reading ). All that BS about opposing Africom was cover up, Yar Adua went to Washington, signed up with Africom and sold our sovereignty.Africom has been patrolling Nigerian waters for going to two years now (it is not known if they are even on land as well in the ND) http://africanpress./2008/01/20/nigeria-africom-ship-heads-for-gulf-of-guinea/ http://www.stratfor.com/memberships/27001/geopolitical_diary_africom_and_u_s_military_priorities_africa http://allafrica.com/stories/200712140108.html http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x5701069 |
Ok, we don't want US air marshals; so lets put one mopol and one roger to set up check points inside the plane. ![]() |
Nigeria court delays sick President Yar'Adua cases Nigerian judges have adjourned three cases aimed at clarifying who rules while ailing President Umaru Yar'Adua is in hospital in Saudi Arabia. Government critics say the president acted illegally when he failed to hand power formally to his vice-president - sparking four legal challenges. A court ruling on Wednesday backed the government, saying the constitution did not require such transfer. Two adjourned cases will be heard next week, the other has no fixed date. Mr Yar'Adua has been receiving treatment for a heart condition since late November. His prolonged absence led to rumours that he was brain damaged or even dead. 'Meaningless' ruling The BBC's Caroline Duffield in Abuja says even senior cabinet ministers seemed to be mystified, openly admitting they did not know when he would return. YAR'ADUA ILLNESS TIMELINE 23 November 2009: Goes to hospital in Saudi Arabia 26 November 2009: Presidential doctors say he has pericarditis - inflammation of the heart lining 23 December 2009: First court case filed called him to step down 30 December 2009: Chief justice sworn in. Lawyers say this is illegal in president's absence 5 January 2010: Two more court cases filed and a human rights group wants president declared "missing" 12 January 2010: President gives first interview since going to Saudi Arabia She says Nigerians are watching the court cases very closely after all the uncertainty and political anxiety of recent weeks. Analysts said Wednesday's ruling by Judge Dan Abutu appeared to preserve the status quo - that Vice-President Goodluck Jonathan was in charge, but could not be regarded as official head of state. But human rights lawyer and opposition activist Femi Falana, who is bringing one of Thursday's cases, dismissed the ruling as "meaningless". "Jonathan cannot act for Yar'Adua because no functions have been formally and directly delegated to him by Yar'Adua," the AFP news agency quoted him as saying. Mr Falana is asking the court to annul all decisions taken by the cabinet during the president's absence. But during a short hearing at Abuja's Federal Court he argued that Judge Abutu could not rule in his case because Wednesday's case was so similar. Judge Abutu passed the case to another judge, but a date for the next hearing was not set. In another of Thursday's cases, the Nigerian Bar Association is demanding that power is handed over formally to Mr Jonathan. That case was adjourned until 21 January. While a third case, in which a rights group wants Mr Yar'Adua declared "missing", was adjourned until 22 January. No reason was given for the adjournments. Mr Yar'Adua has not been seen in public since he was taken to hospital in November, but he gave an interview to the BBC on Tuesday saying he was recovering and hoped to be able to resume his duties. Doctors say he is suffering from acute pericarditis - inflammation of the lining of the heart. He also has a long-standing kidney complaint. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/africa/8458751.stm |
tope777:That judgement does not give him any power. It is essentially saying that what has been going is ok. That is why Aondoakaa is happy with it. |

This thread arose from another one in which some criminals that cannot be representative of Yoruba land have made very dangerous claims at their meetings for a Yoruba country. They believe that Edo and Delta states's are "Yoruba zones". . . The insult. They are only making an oil grab and it will be met with all the resistance the ND can muster. That thread is here https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-380562.0.html Notably, one of the movers is a certain Prince Segun Adesegun; I am wondering if this person is becomerich, they have the same mad cap Benin republic idea. |
@ no2atheism quick correction: Adumu was the father of Ujo, an important prince and founder of many Ijaw clans. Adumu also goes by other names, one of which is identified as Oduduwa. You may remember tales of how Oduduwa sent many of his descendants out to rule over surrounding towns and also founded a lot of city-states. Now, I'm not saying its set in stone, but i believe the various sites with this information got it from somewhere, most likely the old books. Which in turn were based on written tradition. http://www.ijawdictionary.com/menu/TheIjoGenesis.pdf He's also called Adimu in some accounts. Point is- this oral tradition shows an Ife link.
The Ijaws are simply telling you that all Yoruba's descended from Obatala are descendants of Ijaw people. That document is very rich and detailed, a beauty to read. All your imperialistic beliefs are overturned. ![]() The same shame goes to those clowns naming Edo and Delta states's as "Yoruba zones". . . The insult. ![]() They are only making an oil grab and it will be met with all the resistance the ND can muster. |
Adumu is another name for Oduduwa in an Ijaw dialect ie they have a prince named Adumu who they identify as being Oduduwa. Point is, this is meant to show some linkage with ancient Ife
It doesn't show any linkage. If anything, you are trying to say that Yoruba's are descended from Ijaw people; because Ijaw people are of incredible antiquity that is beyond Dugbe market comprehension. |

sjeezy8:You are just as stup!d as tpia. People who can't read and deduce facts from the simplest of texts. tpia: The Ijos (Ijaws) of the Niger Delta are the descendants of the autochthonous people or ancient tribe of Africa known as the (H) ORU. they were known by this name by themselves and their immediate neighbours. The Ijos have kept the ancient language and culture of the ORU.What part of this did your little brain miss? |

Katsumoto:I have never heard of that claim. Ijaw people are Bantu's and are totally separate from the Edo's in every way. According to anthropology, the Ijaws are an indigenous group who did not migrate from anywhere else. Their origins are steeped in pre-history, the Benin kingdom or even the Ogiso dynasty that preceded it are less than three thousand years old. |
Katsumoto:Thats not 100%. Urhobo's claim that both they and the Itsekiri's are guests of the Ijaw. The Ijaw's claim the same thing too. The Oporoza's (the Gbaramatu you've heard of) gave both the Urhobo and Itsekiri land. |
The Ijaws also claim an Oduduwa linkage (maybe), but their culture and ancestry is more aligned to the Igbos and other south south or eastern tribes, imo.
Nobody is involved in your hearsay and illiteracy here. The Ijaws do not have any "Oduduwa linkage". You talk very foolishly Tpia. |
