North and South cannot live together, period. There is no greater example than what is happening with Yar Adua and his Northern clique holding the country to ransome, because they cannot see why a Southerner should rule the country. Let us be real and accept that there is tribalism and religious chauvinism going on in Nigeria. |
There is only one group in Southern Nigeria that can tell history with astonishing precision; they are the Edo. The Edo accounts of Ekhaladeran are of a precision that puts the Oduduwa story in the dust, they give exact years, actions, realistic descriptions etc. It is without doubt that Oduduwa was Ekhaladeran, a Bini prince. The Edo's claim to have migrated from Egypt to their present areas. The Ijaws, who are the earliest known ethnic group in Southern Nigeria, claim that the Edo's drove them out of Benin. Some Isoko's and Urhobo's claim a descent from Egypt, others claim to have left Benin before the period of the Ogiso's. Their languages share similarities to Bini and are grouped as Edoid. The Ijaws claim that all Yoruba's who are descendants of Obatala are descended from Ijaw people. I am not too familiar with the history of Anioma Igbo's (including Onisha), but their oral traditions say that they too are from Benin. I am not sure if this was before or after the Ogiso era. If it was after, then language disparity throws up several questions (except the Bini connection was just a handful of rulers). |
Well done 9ja's in the UK! Nigerians across the globe need to do this in every country that hosts them. ![]() |
It is best for South Nigeria to unite. ![]() |
Onlytruth:Don't mind both of them, see the person you are talking to pretending to be from SW and revealing himself here https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-381735.0.html Add that thread to this one and you will see what I see. |
Onlytruth:It is better to focus energies on the real enemy, rather than pursue quarrels with the Ijaw. The time to forget the past has come and we can see that with quite a few powerful Igbo's already making telling statements, especially in these trying times. Don't listen to tall tales about MEND killing anybody, it is very well known that MEND avoids civilian casualties and always offers apologies when they occur. Don't fall for rumours spread by the vipers amongst us, if MEND's attacks have never been secret. It is in the interest of the SS and SE to remain united. |
Yar’Adua: ‘Cabal holding nation hostage’ From DAVID ONWUCHEKWA, Nnewi Friday, January 15, 2010 An Nnewi- based lawyer and a human right activist, Mr Chike Okafor has condemned what he described as a dangerous vacuum being created following the absence of President Musa Yar’Adua who is said to be receiving treatment in Saudi Arabia for over one month. Mr Okafor expressed concern that the situation can give rise to any military adventurist to seize power since, according to him, nobody is acting as the Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces. He wondered what will happen in an event of military inversion against the nation as no President will order the army to fight back Okafor said that the most reasonable and constitutional action is to hand over power to the Vice President, Goodluck Jonathan to function as the acting President pending when Yar’Adua will be fit to come back and resume office. He blamed those he called cabals who he said are bent on causing crisis “as they don’t want the country to follow constitutional process to hand over power to the Vice President on acting capacity for fear of them losing the presidency. Dangerous vacuum Well, the ill health of President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, anybody can fall ill, is an unfortunate situation. But the way the whole thing is being played out is very unfortunate. Going by the povisions of the 199 constitution, it can be said that this situation was forseen. There are provisions of the constitution that foresee that. There are remedies in such a situation, and the proper thing should have been that the Vice President be sworn in as an acting President pending when Yar’Adua will come back. Nobody is saying that Yar’Adua should resign. Any well-meaning Nigerian should not call for his resignation till it is ascertained that his ill health cannot allow him to carry out the functions of the President. But the proper thing that should be done was for him to write to the Senate or the National Assembly so that the Vice President, Mr Goodluck Jonathan can take over as the acting President. If you look at the whole thing there is a power vacuum. The power is floating in the air. Any military adventurist can use that opportunity to come in now because nobody is in control of the armed forces. There is no Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces. Nobody is commanding the military forces. If there is any inversion of Nigeria nobody can give the military order to move or to counter the attack. So, there is a power vacuum, and it is very dangerous. Look at it this way. In America when President Reagan wanted to have a surgery just for some few hours he handed over to the Vice President. It was officially done and the Vice President started acting as President immediately. He was in control of the armed forces. So what is happening in Nigeria is unfortunate., and every well meaning Nigerian should feel concerned about it. You see, because this is not a banana republic. Cabal in charge I feel that there is a cabal that is holding Yar’Adua hostage, holding the nation to ransom. It is this same cabal that killed Agui Ironsi. It is this same cabal that killed M.K.O Abiola. It is this same cabal that killed Ken Sarowiwa and this same cabal is holding the nation to ransom and hostage but we should not allow it to continue. They should not be allowed to achieve what they are scheming. This is a constitutional matter and if the constitution is not followed this nation may boil again, http://www.sunnewsonline.com/webpages/politics/2010/jan/15/politics-15-01-2010-002.htm |
It is cheapest to split the country. |
craziest:If you had watched that video properly, you would have found that MS was actually not just putting office on the mac. Na! They were buying share's to bail out apple from bankrupcy. Thats the reason I dont get into religous crap, you hardly know the deals the companies are making between themselves; aside from deals between apple and MS, there are deals between linux vendors and MS. If I need to use a mac, I'll use it and I've done that a couple of times. The mac / MS argument is just rubbish. People are into the anti-MS religion for reasons they don't understand or to "belong", but they are only being used by very sinister marketers as a captive audience. That video should have woken you up. The sponsors of the anti-MS religion are the likes of former Netscape employee's (MS killed them off by making browsers free and planted a huge IE icon in their pond on the day of their doom). Whats my stake in that fight? I don't believe in fighting people's wars, whether MS, linux or Mac. I have both xp and vista installed on my systems at home and I'll soon be getting windows 7, I install linux every now and again, but I'm more than satisfied with MS and I don't have an iPhone thank you. |
We must all form alliances in our own interest across the board, Igbos's, Yoruba's. Ijaw's, Isoko's, Urhobo's, Ibibio's, Edo's etc. . . Every group in the South. For Igbo land, River Niger leads to the sea, things can be worked out; also, there is no reason why sea access wouldn't be worked out with an Igbo nation if it turns out to be land locked. There's still some bad blood between Ijaw and Igbo, but it is rapidly melting away. The other ethnic groups in the SS have no issues at all with Igboland, so no biggies. |
Ujujoan:I have never heard it better said than that. The official name for rebranding should be whitwashing. . . .But Dora was given a job and a brief which I am sure that with hindsight, she would have rejected. There would have been a lot of international consultancy work for her after her brilliant time at NAFDAC. She was World famous, but thats all been squandered now, with having to tell rebranded lies through clenched teeth. |
Ujujoan:Any body can be anything. We must recognise that in Nigeria, we tend to place too much emphasis on papers. If she has done badly, it is simply because she isn't a natural talent and has no clue, not because she is a science graduate. The only advantage of a candidate having qualifications in a field like information dissemination / propaganda, is that there is an above average possibility that such a candidate will hit the ground running. |
Nigeria: Debate On U.S. Action Against Country Splits Reps Otei Oham 14 January 2010 Abuja — Debate on United States of America's listing of Nigeria on its terrorism watch list on Thursday created tension in the House of Representatives. Many members argued for and against the U.S. action. Those who supported U.S. said unabated kidnappings, abductions, bombing of oil facilities and sectarian violence linked to 'Boko Haram' and 'Kalakato' religious groups in parts of the country could not have gone unnoticed. Critics of U.S. said the disturbances in Nigeria do not qualify the country as a terror state or that capable of habouring terrorism. They said it was unfair by the U.S. government to include Nigeria on terrorist watch list following an attempt by a single Nigerian, Farouk Abdulmutallab, to bomb a plane in Detroit last December 25. The debate followed a motion by Halims Agoda (PDP, Delta) calling on Federal Government to adopt a blueprint aimed at watching closely Nigerians in the Diaspora who have imbibed foreign ideologies capable of endangering world peace. But in a controversial ruling by the House Speaker, Dimeji Bankole, the House mandated four of its committees, namely those on foreign affairs, national intelligence and security, aviation and Diaspora to investigate the matter and report back in two weeks. According to Eziuche Ubani (PDP, Abia), there was nothing to investigate; Abdulmutallab's case was already in court. But in the opinion of Cyril Maduabum (PDP, Anambra), lawmakers have powers to investigate the entire scenario around the alleged attempt to bomb the passenger airliner and responses of Nigeria, Nigerians and the U.S. In carrying out the assignment, Bankole said the joint committee should summon the Foreign Affairs Minister, Ojo Maduekwe, to explain steps that government has taken since the incident. These were among the eight resolutions adopted in controversial manner by members on Thursday. Where members responded 'nay' to signify their objection to each of the resolutions, Bankole decided 'ayes' to indicate acceptance. http://allafrica.com/stories/printable/201001150512.html |
marvix:I just supportted Dora above, but on that interview, man she really came a cropper. How can she make claims to being the NTA's postman to Yar Adua? She was the conduit for corruption flowing from the NTA and stopping with Yar Adua. Whether she was complicit or just harebrained is not certain, but it was a massively negative display. |
deor03:A wise move in my book. The poor woman was being made to chat sh'it she didn't believe. |
N10 billion is not a small amount in any currency. Where were these people flying to, the moon? They must pay back that money. |
Tribal affiliation clouds Nigeria’s judgment Published: January 15 2010 02:00 | Last updated: January 15 2010 02:00 From Mr J. Omorodion. Sir, Your editorial “Nigerian vacuum: The president needs to avert a constitutional crisis” (January 13), concisely and accurately reflects the two main dilemmas facing the country. First, it is unfortunate that one person (ie, the president) is able to hold up the economic and political development for all 150m Nigerians because of his ineffectiveness and lack of respect for the rule of law. Second, the continued poor representation of the country at the world stage is a reflection of the paralysis facing the elite ruling class of the country. Like most other Nigerians who now make the UK and other countries their home, it is both frustrating and irritating to observe how narrow-minded political party affiliation, tribal and religious sentiments could so blatantly cloud the judgment of the current leadership of the nation. Even where the provisions of sections 144 and 145 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria make clear the circumstances under which the vice-president shall become the acting president, as in the case of the continued absence of President Umara Yar'Adua from the country due to ill health, the collective leadership of the various institutions of the country still think that they can misinform and manipulate the people of the country with such contempt and arrogance. I strongly believe that everybody can survive. The immediate problem will be making sure that each new nation survives the initial economic pressure; to that end, it would be of utmost importance to form alliances between all Southern groups. Such alliances will ensure that each southern nation can always find its contigencies met by friendly neighbours without recourse to outside bodies or countries. The most immediate and obvious alliance would be a military one, other economic / technological alliances can be formed later, but the military one is an immediate need. |
Katsumoto:Oil is stolen by bunkering. You can connect the dots. |
@OAM4J Thanks for stepping in. In fact you will find at least 3 occasions were I explained my words and anger. |
I hope they are not talking about julius berger, na wa 4 people o
No matter who it is, it will be terrible if a foreign company is involved in our politics. But I won't put it past the last throes of a desperate cabal. |
Katsumoto:There's a song that goes, "its all about me". Funny guy. |
Katsumoto:Your tribe was never attacked, but thankfully, you have outed yourself as a tribal chauvinist in your foolishness. In your very own words, you've been dying to say derogatory things about other regions. Well, I'll be knocking sense into you if bring that to the ND. Ole. |
@Katsumato I told you repeatedly that I was talking about those who brought sjeezy up to be warped, but you decided to make it a Yoruba problem, even bringing in your wife and kids. If you create baggage for yourself carry it. Katsumoto:You're doing a very poor job or talking crap. Your own words have exposed you. You have been itching to say derogatory things about other sections of the country. It is ok, we now know you as a green snake that talks from both sides of the mouth. Katsumoto: I always suspected from his posts but now I have the proof to conclude that he does. Its funny how people always throw stones at other tribes as if others have nothing derogatory to say about their own regions.Damn! Newspaper headline; Tribalist exposes self! ![]() Well news for you, I'm here to knock sense into haters of the ND like you. www.nairaland.com/attachments/180447_ROTFLMAO_gif3d0c775232c7f27cf80592785b9635b6 |
@tpia You've always looked for a tribal fight because you are no better than a Dugbe market clown. Don't waste my time with your foolishness. You and Sjeezy have always proven yourselves to hate the Niger Delta. You Northerner who is just so fu'cked up that you find solace in pretending to come elsewhere. Bloody wannabe. |
Katsumoto:So you have been itching to say derogatory things about "other regions"? The truth comes out!!! You don't have to hide behind any sophistry now, let your tribalism and racism spill out. We expect it. |
Katsumoto:Only tribal lords like yourself are so blinded by your ethnic jingoism that you become illogical, put words in peoples mouths and rant like a fool. My antannae about your tribalistic nature pricked up yesterday when you said the Ijaws were ungrateful visitors in Ondo state. That you are lodging with a confirmed tribalist like tpia brings you out fully. |
@Katsumato Now I will say you are stupi'd. I don't give a Bleep whether you are from mars and your kids from Somalia. Sjeezy's and his people are thieves. Period! If you don't like it, jump in a well, I am not taking it back. They are thieves. If you extend his people to include yourself, that's your baggage. Nobody gave it to you, but yourself, so carry it. Stop making a fool of yourself. . . And I used to think you were smart. What a fool! |
No2Atheism:It does, but I am tired of someone who in several posts on this forum, keeps wishing that ND people are either gunned down by the army or Africom, or that the ND meets with some other doom or badluck. Sjeezy is an even worse than the racist scum from Nazi Germany. |
Katsumoto:I credit you with more intelligence than you are putting out now. But you are revealing your true self by both putting words in my mouth and talking about some pride in ND oil and adding a taunt that it will run out. Interesting statements. For your information, I do not care a jot about oil, but I care about the price we have paid in blood, cancer, asthma etc to the Frankenstein called Nigeria. Obviously, human life means little to you so you latch on statements about oil. |
Katsumoto:I will label his people anything I want. His people are his family who brought him up warped. They are thieves. What has Mid West got to do with this, as well as the other crap about the West cheating the Mid West? Did I say any such thing or is something eating you? |
Please sir, it wasn't me o! "It is is the AC people there, using your name". ![]() |

That in itself is a fraud. It's just like convincing people to buy an expired product, when you very well know that it's bad and kills. That's 419 in the highest places. That's a representation of lies.
